If you are looking for a great Hibachi style restaurant in the Doral area, you must go here! I've been here a couple of time and each time is always great and everything I expected. They have a great lunch menu at a reasonable price with a good amount of food. But the Hibachi is where it's at! The chef always does a fun show and the food is always perfect. You get your soup, salad, shrimp appetizer and whatever the rest of your meal was. The fried rice is amazing and paired with their yum yum sauce even better. Now because I'm always in Doral I'm here a lot I even have class mates from West coast coming here every so often. We were greeted the moment we walked in and told it would be 10-15 min as they were preparing the table. We didn't mind as they let us know we could wait at the bar. The bartender was super nice and gave us some great recommendations. I decided to go with the coconut mojito and my friend went with a mango mojito. Both were delicious. Once we were seated they asked us what we would like and we great about answering our questions. The hibachi chef was hilarious and got the whole table involved. And a a lunch special menu. I ordered from the lunch special menu. Everything on there was $13.95. When the waitress came to me to check out, the bill came out to over $22. I asked why so much and she said it was because what I ordered on the lunch special menu was for dine in only and she apologize and said she would ask her manager if they could honor The lunch special price for takeout since no one said anything to me and it also did not state it on the lunch special menu. Restaurant was nicely decorated inside - many hibachi tables and regular tables also for those that don't want the hibachi cooked meals. We first ordered drinks, I tried the Anzu cosmopolitan & it was delicious! My hubby had the house Cabernet and he said it was excellent! I ordered the chicken hibachi & my hubby had the filet mignon hibachi. Both meals were cooked to perfection! The veggies were also delicious! The rice was very good too! Oh I forgot we ordered appetizers also. We had the veggie spring rolls with sweet & spicy sauce... (not too spicy though) which were good. The meal comes with the traditional miso soup & their salad (small). It was okay... we've had better. Overall the experience was nice! The service in this place is one of a kind, the staff was very entertaining, definitely 5 stars just for that. The food was amazing especially since it was cooked right in front of you. The chef was nice and made conversation with us as he cooked and entertained us with a few tricks. Elaborating on the food, if you order meat such as filet mignon, the chef will happily cook it as much as you'd like. You get the option of having a ton of stuff on the side as you see in the video, you'd most likely have leftovers that will still taste great a couple hours later. The restaurant was pretty, but on the smaller side. Only option for parking is complimentary valet. We ordered our hibachi meals and I asked what I could substitute the 2 shrimp appetizers the meal comes with as I'm ALLERGIC to shrimp. The waitress said, "Nothing. No substitutions". Meanwhile the menu said nothing of the sort. I spoke to the manager and he said the same. I then asked if I could get extra veggies in lieu of the shrimp and he agreed. Don't know why the restaurant couldn't problem solve for me. We got our soup and salad. Then waited so long for the hibachi cook to come that we had to ask for him. When he finally came, he was friendly. The entire time he was cooking he was comparing his restaurant to Benihana. At one point he asked, "Does Benihana use garlic butter too? People prefer our recipes to theirs"... it was quite petty. The waitress wasn't the nicest. 18% gratuity was added to a party of 2 adults and 1 child. Overall, our experience there was meh. Everyone is attentive and make sure your dining experience is exceptional. With that said, because I go so often, I have decided that choosing and sticking with your favorite server makes the experience even better. Tahyna is my go to server at the restaurant. She makes sure I leave satisfied with my food decision as well as attention I receive from her. Hasn't failed me once. I was not impressed at all. We went for lunch and the place was mostly empty. The bar was completely empty and without a bartender. The hibachi tables are smaller than I'm used to, and the seating is a bit tight; they try to fit 9 customers per table. Although there was hardly any customers at the time, we had to wait just over 30 minutes to be served. We were a party of 5, so we ordered a bottle of Prosecco for the group, but the server brought a mini single serving bottle. The salads were served before we received utensils and chopsticks. The hibachi chef was very good and fun, and the food was well cooked and tasty. So the I'm on the fence on this one at this time; hopefully some of the services issues can be solved soon. read more

I'm really tired of giving this restaurant a try. I just love Japanese food & the location is convenient since it's close to my job. When I arrived they told us to have a seat anywhere. About 10/12 minutes passed and we were ready to order and no one came to our table. Mind you we were the only table there besides two gentlemen having lunch. Finally when they arrived we ordered - we ordered edamame for an appetizer... it took over 10 minutes to get it ??? I don't understand the slow service when no one is in the Resturant. Every time I come it's always the SAME thing they take a long time. People are usually on thete lunch break and I can never leave this spot in an hour. They do have a great lunch special for $11.99 you can get habachi chicken / steak or shrimp with rice and veggies with a drink. I ordered the chicken habachi with no rice hust extra veggies and added mushrooms. I was so disappointed because the veggies came out super watery; like if they forget to drain it ?? I don't know this place has a ton of potential ! The atmosphere inside is super nice ; fake cherry blossom trees and dope art work on the wall. I just wish the service and quality was a little better ohhh and the lunch combo comes with soup or salad. They forgot it and so did I by the time it was time to pay. Will I return ? NOPE. We went here for my daughter's 12th birthday (with a group of 8 girls) and I am OVER THE MOON with happiness!!! From the moment we walked in the staff was incredibly accommodating and truly made her birthday unforgettable. The food is good, but the service and chef speed need some work. Today we walked in....hostess told us to seat ourselves and we waited over 5 minutes for a server to tend to us. Five minutes is not a long time, but when the restaurant is empty, it's a lifetime. I've given this restaurant many chances, and it's always the same story; the service is slow and the food takes forever. Today it took 15-20 minutes just to get some edamame...again, the place was empty. With the exception of my table of 2, there was one more table of 2. As for the food, the sushi is great...tastes fresh...presentation is spot on. I do have a gripe about my tuna tartar today. They used to serve with what seemed like inhouse fried tortilla triangles, but today, they served it with what looked like round "bag-bought tostitos....which lowers the bar of the entire dish. Now onto the Hibachi, what kills this dish every time are the vegetables. They come out soggy...every single time. It's like they don't drain them before they plate them...which then contaminates the rest of your food. The place has potential...nice ambiance...good food...they just need to tighten up a bit. And if you're in a hurry, as in, you only have an hour for lunch...you're going to be late...or you'll have to eat your food in 5 minutes. read more

I went to Japan Inn with 5 friends. Our waiter and chef were very attentive and actually funny. Meal consisted of soup, salad, chicken fried rice, shrimp, veggies, and scallops. My favorite being the scallops. Only negative I would mention is that some bits of rice were over cooked. I was actually very surprised how generous the portion sizes were compared to Benihana. I actually had so much food I could not finish it. The staff sang us a funny song so that was a bonus. I would recommend this restaurant and go back myself. read more
