Blueberry Germ pancakes with bacon did not disappoint. I like them more then the regular pancakes. Sweet and didn't need syrup.

Service is always great! the food is always amazing! Just good ol Diner/cafe style breakfast and lunch items... well and some early dinner items like pasta. Been going here for years now and it never disappoints. I decided to try the Wheat germ pancakes today and they were incredible. I didn't know the difference between these and regular pancakes but they are high in protein and fiber. Helps keep blood pressure at bay and keeps you fool longer. They didn't even need syrup. The bacon was perfectly crisp and the hubby loved his as well.

This is probably my favorite local spot for breakfast with my family. They have plenty of tables and a dedicated parking lot. If you can't find parking then there's also street parking along El Camino. I ordered the Louisiana scramble but substituted the sausage for a hot link. The gravy was flavorful and the biscuits were soft and fluffy. It was some of the best biscuits and gravy I've had personally, and the hot link gave a nice kick. My wife ordered the breakfast quesadilla and I enjoyed that just as much. The quesadilla is much lighter in contrast to the scramble but it's great item to share and it's packed with flavor. We also shared a short stack, which was nice and fluffy. The butter was a lot but we moved it to the side and spread as desired. The service is always great here. We also get the same two people helping us out, which adds to the charm of this place. The dining area itself is spacious and modern. It's a bit hard to explain but even though it's modern I still get the old school cafe charm.

A great non-upscale place in Menlo Park for a weekend breakfast. The parking lot is a little small but plenty of tables inside. Very friendly service here. Had the Bacon Scramble, the Jason's crepe, the Country skillet, and the Southern Scramble. All the food was great! The savory crepe was a standout. I had the Bacon Scramble, which had mushrooms and spinach (my weakness). It gets loud in here with so sound absorbing fabrics.

Nice little local breakfast cafe. Small parking lot with street parking around and decent size indoor space. I got the Jason skillet w/ sourdough and it was tasty, potatoes were seasoned which was a plus. Sausage , bacon and ham were cooked well. I wish the cheese would have melted rather looked like just put on the plate but overall still a decent breakfast dish. Staff were super friendly and nice.

Good breakfast to get your day started! Parking lot is kinda small but that was the only issue. Everything else very good the service and people inside were very nice! The warm decor made it nice place to sit and eat with your family. Good old fashioned cooking. I had the El Paso Benedict it had corn beef hash and was amazing with my hash browns well done by the way I love the crispy lol. Wifey ordered California Benedict which was also a very good choice. If you find yourself in this part of Menlo Park you can't go wrong with Jason's.

I'm rounding up because we love this place - very reasonably priced, unpretentious and kid friendly breakfast / lunch option in Menlo Park. I appreciate the cozy, bustling ambiance and usually go with one of their breakfast or pasta options. They have a huge menu averaging $15-20 per adult entree, $10 for kids - portions are very generous. My favorite pasta thus far has been the prawn and sundried tomato, my husband enjoys the kung Pao linguine (I know it sounds bad but my mom also enjoys this!) Definitely recommend if you're looking for a no frills option nearby. Their parking lot is pretty small - would recommend parking in the Springline lot next door, first two hours free!

Continue to love this place! The food is still delicious and never a complaint! This time I ordered the protein scramble and the Jason's omelet with fruits and it really just hits the spot. Not too complicated or too much going on. It was made so simple, just the way I wanted! Great service all around, great ambiance, and plenty of parking.

Our favorite breakfast/brunch place! Great food, great service, great place! We come here almost every weekend now. My family loves the location, the people there are super nice and efficient and the food is real!

My husband found this place randomly and it was surprisingly so delicious - such a hidden breakfast spot! I ordered the harbor omelette: filled with crab meat, cheese, spinach and topped with hollandaise sauce. I have never had anything like this and it blew my socks off. I love Hollandaise but wasn't feeling a Benedict ... I didn't know the sauce on an omelette filled with crab would be so delicious. And they are very generous with their crab meat portions! The hash-browns are also the classic diner style - super crispy and delicious.

Definitely worth getting the umami fries as they were seasoned to perfection. A perfect starting side! Horsefeather is a perfect brunch spot to stop by and try in this Old Town and Country Palo Alto plaza. I have never heard of this chain nor in their other locations before and was definitely satisfied afterwards with their great dishes and their aesthetically modern decorated interior. The dishes here are American so you'd get what you typically get for breakfast from scrambles to French Toast, and we ordered the French Toast, the Chicken and Waffles, and a Salad during our visit here. All of what was ordered was perfect and beautifully plated upon arrival and out of all that was ordered, I have to say the chicken and waffles with their matcha butter & syrup was their standout dish. I have never seen matcha infused with butter but it was perfect and complimented the waffle just right. The chicken was fried and juicy inside and the waffle in general was toasted with just the right amount of crisp on the outside and soft interior. French Toast was a definite close contender too, where the toast was still gooey soft as expected and served with syrup & cream on the side. Salad was good but nothing too extraordinary about it. The staff here were all very nice and on a busy lunch day, I was surprised & pretty sure just lucky was able to get a table in less than 10 min on a Sunday. For weekend brunch, Horsefeather is a perfect spot to visit & enjoy the pre-afternoon before enjoying Palo Alto. I would highly recommend checking this place out and will definitely be back for more.

Would 100% come back for our favorites, and I'd recommend the meats here over the seafood. My favorite among the Eylan, Ettan, Copra sister restaurants! ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] TARO ROOT CHAAT (5/5) Wow wow wow. My new favorite way to enjoy chaat. Two crispy taro root chips sandwiching a medley of sauces, then covered thoughtfully in sev (short, crunchy noodles) and topped with pomegranate seeds. It's not only beautiful but also delicious. 2. RIBEYE (5/5) Had no expectations that this ribeye would be anything special, but it was surprisingly excellent quality. We absolutely loved it and the side of broccolini that came with it (super flavorful). 3. EYLAN CRISPY CHICKEN (5/5) Crispy exterior without excessive batter, super tender + juicy chicken, and great aioli to pair. The chicken comes out piping hot (be careful) with seasoning that adds the slightest kick. 4. CHILLED GREEN GRAPE CHAAS (4.75/5) Such a refreshing start to the meal. The flavors and textures were all perfect. The only reason this isn't a 5/5 is because, surprisingly, the semolina balls are slightly different sizes, so some were too big to have in one bite. 5. WOODFIRE CHICKEN SEEKH (4.5/5) Another chicken dish that comes out piping hot. Again, extremely tender chicken (texturally, maybe they marinaded the chicken in yogurt?). They kept emphasizing that a skewer only comes with 3 pieces, but each piece was actually quite large so we're glad we didn't over-order. Both the chicken and the chutney it comes with are very spicy though, so be prepared. 6. KOHLRABI & PINEAPPLE (4.5/5) The surprises kept coming. Honestly, had no idea what this was when I tried it, but the best way to describe it for others who have never had something like this before is an unbelievably flavorful Indian version of kimchi (without the fermentation). Thin slices of kohlrabi and pineapple with smokiness, sweetness, and crunch, smothered in a delicious glaze. WOW. 7. FROZEN SHRIKHAND (4.5/5) Another surprise win! The epitome of not-too-sweet. A very refreshing and easy-to-share dessert that is both light and rich at the same time. 8. KING TRUMPET MUSHROOM (4.25/5) A simple dish that reminded me of Mongolian skewered mushrooms. Nice smokey flavor paired with a flavorful seasoning sprinkled on top. 9. HISPI CABBAGE (4.25/5) Another nice vegetable dish where the cabbage is not only cooked nicely, but it's swimming in a thick curry that you can eat with your breads. 10. WOODFIRED NANTE CARROT (4.25/5) Like a sweet and savory crepe. Small but mighty, and another unexpectedly tasty item where the looks deceived you into think it was a simple item. 11. GULF SHRIMP (4/5) This was a nice dish but I found the shrimp to be slightly overcooked and slightly fishy. Not bad at all, but probably not something I'd order again. 12. EYLAN CHICKEN YAKHNI PULAO (4/5) Super interesting flavor I've never had before in a rice dish, and extremely generous with the amount of chicken used in this. Loved the crispy shallots as a garnish on top. Rice was a little dry. 13. CHARRED BLACK COD (4/5) Crispy skin and piping hot. The fish itself was not tough but it wasn't melt-in-your-mouth tender -- definitely firm. Had the slightest fishiness to it in my opinion but it's still not bad. I think the move here is Eylan's meats though. 14. FLAXSEED POEE (3.75/5) Loved that it came out freshly-baked, easy to share, and super fluffy. Very high quality but the flaxseed flavor wasn't my favorite and there was something about the avocado saag that made it taste more like a condiment than something to eat with the poee. 15. BERRY MAKHANA KHEER (2/5) This is just a personal preference. These kinds of desserts are not for me flavor-wise. Also difficult to eat since we were given flat plates and this is a liquid dessert. ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * This is a truly beautiful restaurant. It's clear that they put a lot of attention into each detail and decoration, reminiscent of Copra in SF or Ettan nearby (sister restaurants). * They play music semi-loudly in the restaurant which creators a very lively atmosphere that I actually quite liked, but you can also ask them to turn down the music if it ever gets bothersome. * The restaurant is located alongside a main road in Menlo Park, but it's a bit more tucked away from the road such that it doesn't feel too exposed. ------ SERVICE: * Maybe because we were a large group, but they gifted us a plate of delicious Naankhatai (Indian Ghee Cardamom Shortbread) after dessert and those cookies were divine. We asked for the last couple to be packed up, and to our surprise, they gave us a whole new batch of cookies! That's excellent service. * They were diligent about filling our waters, wiping down our tables, and providing enough serving spoons for all our dishes.

Elegant with lots of really cool Indian imagery on the wallpaper and decor I am however docking a star for repeated service issues - very interesting that it was the same as last time, even in the main dining room this go around. For whatever reason the server just disappears on you after the mains come out. And also for whatever reason they just never bring out spoons to serve the gravy dishes with, which seems odd for a restaurant where family style ordering is the norm... and it was painfully difficult to get anyone's attention to amend these when we wanted to order more or share spooning out a dish while it was hot

The menu is fairly straightforward and not particularly unique, though prices are definitely premium. Sandwiches range from about $24 to $58, and the mini lobster or crab rolls are $20 each. For our group of five, we ordered three lobster rolls, lamb chops, two Caesar salads, two orders of oysters, honey-glazed salmon, sweet potatoes, truffle fries, a gem salad, and several drinks and glasses of wine. Unfortunately, neither the kitchen nor the table service lived up to expectations. Our starters arrived, followed by most of the entrees, but the kitchen completely forgot both Caesar salads. We asked about them twice. By the time they finally arrived, the salads were soggy and lacked the freshness you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. RH Rooftop delivers a stunning setting and is an undeniably beautiful place for a celebration. However, for a restaurant positioned as a luxury dining experience, I expected the food and service to match the spectacular surroundings. While everything looked impressive, the meal itself felt average and the service lacked the attention to detail expected at this price point. In the end, I left feeling that I had paid for the atmosphere rather than the dining experience.

Lots of light, flavorful seafood options with creative and fun twists to look forward to (grilled shiso? Yes please). There are also richer items (milk bread, sesame pancake as an example) Recommend: - any of the fish: coconut fritter with salmon, kampachi, halibut - steak was fantastic - salads: loved the little gems with dashi Overall, phenomenal spot with friendly and fast service. Throughout the meal, we were repeatedly asked whether we had finished our dishes, which made us feel pressured and gave the impression they were eager to turn the table over as quickly as possible. I agree with many of the other reviews that the service and overall dining experience do not justify the premium price. While the food was good, nothing truly stood out or impressed me considering the cost. At this price point, I expected a more refined and memorable experience. Although I was dining at a high-end restaurant, I never felt like I was being treated as if I were. The rushed pace meant we finished our entire meal in about an hour, which is not the relaxed fine dining experience I was expecting.

The host received us warmly, but things slipped from there. Our table was missing cutlery and we had to flag our server down to get it sorted. We asked for a minute to look over the menu since it was our first visit. He did not come back for five minutes, and only because we flagged him down again. When we ordered, he took our request without making eye contact, attention clearly elsewhere in the restaurant. One dish came out. The second did not. Our server never circled back to check on us, and seemingly did not notice that one of us had no food in front of her. After nearly ten minutes, we flagged him down again. He called over from across the restaurant, not walking to us, with a "what?" We had to gesture that my guest still had no food. He came over briefly, confirmed our order, said it was coming soon, and left. No apology. No acknowledgment of the wait. No offer to make it right while one plate sat getting cold. The food eventually came, again with no apology. It was good. But by then, honestly, the experience had overshadowed it. We asked for a manager. Cathy came over, listened, and immediately apologized. She agreed the service fell short, gave us a break on the bill, and handled the situation with real grace. She is the reason this review has any stars at all! For reference, our server's name on the receipt read Mui F. I hope Cathy's conversation with him makes a difference, because Sweet Maple clearly has the food to back up its reputation. The service just needs to match it!
