I came here with a group of friends and the food was actually all really delicious! Highly recommend the crispy fish sandwich or the burger, and the Flat bread and quesadillas were good too. There lots of sports in all the TV's so you can judge if that's what you're into and it's a bit noisy, but it's a good sports bar. Had a great time at Jasper's. Entered on a whim and was glad we did. From the outside, it looked like a quiet, new bar, but once inside the place was buzzing with a buzzed clientele, tvs and music. Even though it was busy, the bar staff was attentive. The menu was filled with typical gastropub fare, and the beer list above average. We split a quesadilla. Do not waste your time at this restaurant. My friends and I decided to try it for brunch, and after we paid, the waitress approached us and let us know that we did not tip enough. We split the bill, so I cannot speak for the top amount that my friends left, but my tip was commensurate with the cost of my order. Even if the others didn't tip enough, since when is it appropriate to openly tell the table that they didn't tip enough? I can't help but wonder if they maintain the same protocol with white customers. The behavior was disgusting at best. read more

We stopped in this bar on the way home last night & had a lot of fun in here! They have a menu of speciality drinks & our favorite is called The Dirty Chai! It's perfect for the cold weather & (in my opinion) tastes like Christmas! They also have an array of craft beers on tap & full liquor bar. The atmosphere is fun & rustic, the music is on point & they also have tvs around the bar if you're looking for a sporting event. The menu has a "review us on Yelp for 10% off your bill" promotion which can be the only explanation for all the "good" reviews. Food and drinks were the definition of mediocre. Everything I ate felt like a waste of calories and an even bigger waste of a lot of money. Will not return. read more

Came here with a friend for a quick bite. Service was good and it wasn't too crowded. We each got different burgers that were a little bit salty but otherwise pretty good. The real star of the show were the pretzel bites with cheese dip appetizer! If I see them on a menu, I'm 75% more likely to go to that restaurant, and these did not disappoint. I would (and probably will) go back and just order that as an entree. Prices are definitely reasonable too, we both had some food to take home after sharing the pretzel bites. Love that they have craft beers and its in my neighborhood. This would be a regular bar for me especially with the supposed $5 happy hour. I came the other night around 6pm with a friend and ordered 2 beers that were supposed to be on happy hour. We had a dinner reservation and the waitress took forever to bring our check despite asking repeatedly. It ended up being around 730 that we left (still before the 8pm happy hour cut off). When we checked the bill our beers were full price $8-$9 each. We asked the server about it and mumbled something about happy hour only being on two specific beers and sped off. We were in a rush to make our reservation so we didn't want to argue over the extra $8 so we paid and left. I doubled checked the menu on the way out and it specifically says "$5 Craft Beers" on happy hour and doesn't specify two specific ones, so I'm giving them one star for false advertising/shadyness and the rudeness of our server. There are tons of bars in the neighborhood with $5 happy hour beer specials so no reason to come here after this experience! read more

After ending my 5 year Hell's Kitchen residency, I'm reflecting on all my favorite spots in the area and Jasper's will always have a special place in my heart. Although it's relatively new to the area, I think Jasper's will survive the 9th ave restaurant row competition, finding it's permanent spot as your go-to HK bar. Jasper's has a good crowd, great staff, legit food and prices and plays good music. I've been through a lot with Jasper's, some notable moments include: my birthday after-party spot, fleet week, winter storm Jonas, a number of thirsty Thursdays, awkward first dates, amazing first dates, and plenty of nightcaps. Like any bar, it has it's off nights but if you stick around, you will have some truly great times. Want to watch the game? They've got you covered with TV's Happy Hour? Jasper's is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The space is nice and open. They have a decent beer list, though definitely not as epic as that of Pony Bar. If I had one major criticism, the beer list could be improved, highlighting more epic beers from across the country beers instead of featuring too many mediocre local beers. The whole buy/eat/drink local thing is great and all, but only if it still tastes good... The food was surprisingly good. I loved the pulled chicken sliders--they were delicious. The other items we tried were tasty but not as great as the sliders. The poutine was decent. I will definitely be back to try more food and hopefully the beer list will change often. read more

I'm not a beer drinker, but I've been here a number of occasions, for brunch mostly. I came again Saturday night with a couple of friends to watch the game, and for them to have a beer, thinking it was a great idea, but some of their selection of beer was less than okay.. It was flat. We understand that that can happen, but the experience after we ask to change it was what spoiled the night there.. Their beer is flat. We informed the server, no big deal, but she said she would happily change it but we would have to charge for the flat one and the new one. According to her was the manager's decision, we ask to talk to him, but he never came over to our table.. We left, luckily there are so many other options in the area.. We went to another place, The Jolly Monk, just a couple of blocks down, service was great, they have a huge selections of beer, everyone loved it. read more

Came here on a Saturday around noon - it was pretty empty, but that's a shame, it has a great brunch special! Free mimosa/bloody mary with entrees (we got the bloody mary and it was pretty good for being free). We had the habanero lime chicken wings (good flavor, nice crispiness) and the pulled pork skillet (really good sweet potatoes and peppers and egg, the pork was a little dry). Nice place! This place has potential to be a great restaurant, if they can figure out their service issues. First, the food is fantastic (the fries are a bit too large and starchy though, but seasoned really well). However, it's not acceptable for the waitress to take our drink order, and then proceed to have the entire staff in the restaurant (I counted 5 people) placing candles on all the tables and in the windows before even delivering our order. And second, it's also not acceptable to have the appetizer come out after our entrees are served. Not sure I'll rush to right back, considering its sister restaurant 2 blocks up is as perfect as you can get. If the staff/service issues get worked out, I'll be back, but not until then. read more

If you are looking for a solid, no frills, neighborhood bar just bursting with local flavor, Jasper's will fit the bill. It reminds me of a gentrified bar from Sleepers (1996 movie set in Hell's Kitchen--check it out, it's rad). The service is friendly, the vibe is buzzing, the atmosphere is pleasant and there's lots of room for you and your alcoholic cohorts. Prices are on the cheaper side too--an Amaretto Sour will run you about $10, unheard of just three blocks east. read more

Menu is average and the beer list is sub par - the service isn't great either. But I used to be a huge fan of the atmosphere, it's never really that crowded and you can enjoy yourself with the right people. HOWEVER, I spent a night (one of many because of conveniency) with friends there and the waitress never gave me back my debit card - when I went back to get it (after having already called and listened to them say they absolutely had it) ---they didn't. They lost my debit card. The manager was rude and didn't seem to care. Very upset. Won't be returning to Jaspers. read more

Went in for Burger Special. They gave me a small local beer (that was $6), with an undercooked attempt at a brisket burger ($14 total...you can get a $10 special if you look around). The bartender, while attractive, nothing there. I tried numerous times to spark casual conversation. Nope. On top, it's 91 degrees outside...turn on the f-info A/C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
