Great breakfast burritos & huevos rancheros! Walked by at 10am and enjoyed the smell enough to look at the menu. We decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. I had the huevos rancheros and my wife had the breakfast burrito, both were very good and were presented well (the way food looks on the plate). It feels kind of crowded since it's in a strip mall. This place is amazing. This place is full of so much energy. Went for dinner here once and went for breakfast this morning! So delicious. Pancakes are so fluffy, they are to die for. The omelette is just over the top. The scrambled eggs were better then ever. The Arnold Palmer was just awesome. The spaghetti was the best I have every tasted. The Veggie Fantapano was scrumptious. The lady who waited out table was super rude, and racist. We waited for 15 min before she attended to our table. When we were ready for the order she said "you might be ready but i am not". We still tried to be nice and said we wanted to just know in how much time she'll be able to take our order and she did not have the basic human decency to respond. My boyfriend and I loved this place. For starters the atmosphere was funky and eclectic. Every wall had something interesting to look at; photos of past patrons, barbie dolls hanging from the bar, a memorial for fallen soldiers, the owners personal artwork, etc. We went for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. My boyfriend had the huevos rancheros and I had the breakfast burrito, plus we split a side of short stacks. The portion sizes were great. You get a lot of food for the price. The food itself was delicious. The service was great, the staff was friendly, we were seated right away and got our food pretty quickly. Only con was that we didnt get our picture put on the wall! Everytime we come to Maui we have breakfast & dinner here - it is FANTASTIC! Nader and his crew are top notch from the food, to the welcoming, polite, and EXCELLENT customer service. When you are there as their guests, you are treated like family every single time. Consistent. The coffee is superb, the breakfast burrito or huevos rancheros are outstanding. The dinners are fantastic, and the burgers ARE THE BOMB! A fun, eclectic, and eye candy atmosphere is a huge bonus. Besides the great food, the customer service is second to none. Fabulous! We stayed in a resort across the street. Decided to go check out the places across the road and found this little gem. The name made me have to check it out. Anything called "soup nutz" is worth checking out ha. We went in and it was decorated like an old thrift shop. Random stuff hanging everywhere. Very cool. The restaurant itself isn't very big but there is a lot to look at. The staff was very nice and attentive. I decided to order a club sandwich. It was HUGE. I have seen big clubs before, but this was so big I couldn't even bite into half of it. I had to cut it into pieces to eat it, but it was delicious! Very, very good! My husband got the fish and chips and he enjoyed his as well. This is a place definitely worth stopping at. Also, many restaurants around Maui are so overpriced... This place was very reasonably priced and had excellent food. Would recommend and we would definitely go again. read more

This is some quality food in Maui, it was by far one of the best restaurants we visited during our stay on the island. Based solely on the coffee and muffin: the iced coffee is a maui blend which is good, but it is VERY weak. I am only putting one star because I have to if I could put 0 I would. I am from New York and I am here celebrating my 30th birthday. During these hard times of covid I was so excited to get away and explore Hawaii. I have heard nothing but great things and I was so eager to get here. Our trip took a little turn on our second day and my friend sprained her ankle. I ran down for her to get an ace bandage and coffee. I stopped in Java jays to grab some coffee. When I got into the store the man at the counter approached me about my Brooklyn shirt. He began to rant on and on about how I'm from New York and how my "governor is a dick" and how he's a "piece of shit" I just smiled politely and continued to give him my coffee order. When he handed me 3 black coffees I asked about the milk and creamer and and this man began to go OFF. When I asked where the creamer and milk was if there was a station if I had to do it myself he said "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR FUCKING PRIVILEGED CAUSE YOU COME FROM NEW YORK WHAT THE FUCK DO I LOOK LIKE YOUR SLAVE IM A TRUMP SUPPORTER IM NOT HERE TO BE YOUR SLAVE" I was taken back and so confused because all I wanted was milk and cream in my coffee. I know some places put the creamer and milk in yourself so I was just unsure if there was a station I missed somewhere. This man was relentless and did not stop verbally abusing me calling me a "privileged bitch" and that I need to "figure it our myself" .. I just kept responding that he is weird for acting this way. I couldn't wrap my head around his actions. A word of advice for visitors in this area, Do not go into this place!!! If you are not from the area and this guy knows, he will not want to give you service. He has no shame in letting you know. I tried calling the store when I got back to my hotel to voice my complaint but sure enough he was the owner. Just wanted to come on here and warn anyone else visiting so this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

I had a very expensive bowl of canned pineapple for breakfast. It was $9! I don't like melon so I asked for no melon and got some banana, some honeydew (melon) and a lot of canned pineapple. I also noticed I was charged fo a double espresso cappuccino. I ordered a decaf cappuccino so I was concerned. Nader assured me it was a decaf cappuccino and told me they always charge for a double when you have a single coffee "in house". They probably save money on "in house" since they don't have to use to go cups so that seems like a way to jack up the prices. Their breakfast menu is quite limited with nothing gluten free.
