Personally, it was not for me. I was not a fan of the taste of the food. It was a cool experience but I only really liked the spicy yopo a little bit. The rest of my family really enjoyed themselves but I just did not like it as much as I thought I would. A really nice little place, but I just was not a big fan of it. No offense at ALL to anyone who sees this review that likes the place, I'm not trying to be mean or anything, just wasn't for me Edit: I made my review 2 stars instead since my family did like the food more than I did, not trying to be rude to the workers of jayd bun, just giving what I feel is an honest review

Jayd Bun was voted number 2 Chinese restaurant in the U.S. by Yelp, so I had to go check them out. I tried to go in the winter but the snow storm was bad and I had to cancel my order. I finally was able to go recently and the hype is real. It's best that you pre-order through email the day prior, the cut off time is 4pm. They are quick and responsive via email. It's a take-out only restaurant but they have a small patio with a few picnic tables. There are breweries nearby; The Whalers is right next door. I ordered a bunch of food to try with the family. 1. Spicy yo po noodles - tangy noodles with bok choy, love the flavor and the thick handmade noodles 2. Sweet chili chicken jin jin - spicy savory open ended dumplings, mouthwatering good 3. Pork buns - delicious, fresh, and love the sauce it came with. 4. Ja Jen Men noodles - love that savory sweet sauce 5. Spicy wontons - filled with pork and spicy sauce, huge fan All were so good, my husband and I agree, best Chinese food we've ever had. We drove 2 hours from CT, he said if we lived closer we would be there all the time lol; bad for our waist and wallets lmao. Definitely worth a visit!!!

Took the hour & a half trek down to JAYD BUN in South Kingstown, RI for some buns & noods Placed our order two days in advance & damn, it was worth every mile. We were greeted with smiling faces at pickup plus a visit from the one & only Chef Joe, who even tossed in a couple magic tricks for extra flavor We also bumped into the Fresh Prince of Rhode Island Amir Henley while we were there We loaded up on buns, beef jin jins, ja jen noodles, peanut noodles, & the spicy yo po. Every dish was made fresh to order. The noodles were cooked perfectly & coated in rich house made sauces, while the buns & jin jins were bursting with flavor in every bite. This place absolutely kills it every single time & it's easy to see why they've won so many awards. If worth the hype could be wrapped up in a meal...it would be this one. We emailed earlier in the week to make sure our order was in. We got a mix of buns, jin Jins, and noodles. Our friends picked it up for us and delivered it to CT and it was STILL WARM. THAT is how fresh we are talking here. There wasn't a bad bite to be had. The buns went soft with great filling. The dumplings had a lot of flavor and were so balanced. The noodles had a great texture. My husband was all about that sauce and I'm now so focused on going back for the spicy noodles. We can't wait to go back.

This food is worth waiting for and worth traveling for. We emailed our order 5 days out and added on two days later. There were no issues with our order and it was ready on time. The food is fresh and so delicious. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants. We ordered and October noodle, Jin jin dumplings, veggie buns, pork buns and a Jayd Noodle. The food easily fed six people. The staff are incredibly friendly. If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor and try it! You won't be disappointed.

Here's the thing: Put aside the fact Chef Joe, Annie, JinJin, and the entire Jayd Bun team are very talented, genuine, and kind people. This isn't just great, quality food, this is a culinary EXPERIENCE. Never tasted anything like it and doubt I will again. If you have any second thoughts, don't. JUST GO!! Unfortunately underwhelming. We ordered two of the Jayd Fusion and were told upon pickup they had run out. We'd even placed our order five days beforehand just in case. We get they disclaim that the order isn't guaranteed, but I don't necessarily understand the point in ordering ahead then. Also beware there is 3% credit card up charge, which does add up with the prices. The food itself was good. Nothing mindblowing, we got the Yopo, pancakes, pork buns, veggies buns, and peanut butter noodles. The yopo was probably the most unique. The peanut butter noodles lacked something, perhaps salt. I will say, the noodles are made in house and texturally are great. The scallion pancakes were tasty and unique, though not at all crispy, and we only got the one order out of the two we had requested (five days prior). The lady up front said they compensated for it and then threw in an extra item. After doing the math, they charged us pretty much what it would've been anyways, and there was no extra item lol. There is some outdoor seating. Inside has a few chairs to sit in while waiting for your order. There's also a wall of AI generated signs inside. I wish them the best, though do think they need to either restructure their system to meet current demand, or be more upfront about how the food you order might not get to you. It simply isn't fair to people traveling from states away, especially when you don't tell them until they are paying for their order at the counter. I hate this word, but i fear it couldn't meet the hype. Maybe it was just an off day. Regardless, if you live within 30 minutes, it's probably worth going. But I wouldn't recommend going too far out of your way.

I was lucky enough to receive a Mother's Day bag from Jayd Bun and it was such a wonderful experience! They were incredibly generous with the portions and even included beautiful flowers as a Mother's Day gift, which was such a thoughtful touch. The noodles had the perfect level of spice, and the peanut butter noodles were absolutely delicious. My daughter's favorite were the dumplings, and we both loved the buns! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We'll definitely be back!

What is this mystery bag business all about?! Well if you have been following Jayd Bun on social media one knows that when someone is unable to make it for their order the fun begins! A quick post to Facebook and boom, call to score a great free treat!! Snow days seem to generate the most action and boy you have to be quick! If you think getting through for a regular order is tough, well step up and accept the mystery bag call in experience!! Was able to score this sweet treat on a snowy cold evening! After a flurry of calls I was able to score a bag on the second round posted for the night. While some may say it is careless to drive in icy road conditions, I felt this one was worth it for calming my tastebuds down from their lack of Jayd Bun (it has been a bit since I have been in)! As always, the welcome is gracious, fun and friendly upon arrival and always good to hear and see the family at work. I didn't get a chance to catch a picture, but there was a chopstick snowman in progress with the little one! Appreciate the experience along with the amazing food that has propelled Jayd Bun to one of the best in the nation! Truly appreciate all the great work and the amazing food!

On Saturday's, Jayd Bun opens at 12pm so I called Jayd Bun at 12:00pm to preorder. I put in my order and I was given the pickup time of 1:45pm. When I arrived at 1:40pm, there were a lot of people in the small space waiting for their orders and people were dining outside. What a busy day for Jayd Bun!!! The staff member called my name stating that my order was ready and I paid for it. There is a surcharge for using credit cards. We brought our food over to Whalers Brewing Company and enjoyed it there with some drinks. We weren't the only ones that did that, I saw a few tables with Jayd Bun bags. It's great that there is a partnership. We ordered the Jayd Fusion ($14.88), Pork pan fried buns ($18.88), and Chicken pan fried buns ($18.88). Jayd Fusion is 8 pieces of a pan fried scallion pancake. The scallion pancake was crispy. Jayd Bun's pan fried buns are always filling and delicious. The pork and chicken filling is juicy and scrumptious. If you haven't tried Jayd Bun, you have to!

So finally! After seeing this on social media and reading raving reviews regarding how this place is the #2 Chinese Restaurant in the US, I finally bit the bullet and drove 45 minutes to try this award winning restaurant. And........ it did NOT disappoint! They say you need to email your order or however other ways but, I called and picked up an hour after I ordered. So yes, you can order ahead and pick up same day. Best to order on lunch because after 3pm they advise it gets busy and might not be able to accommodate. I came a little later than my pick up time but, the food was still warm. The buns were soft, juicy, chewy and so full of flavors, specially when you add their house sauce (soy). Perfection! The dumplings were delicious and they are bigger than regular store bought ones. The noodles were very tasty and just the right amount of spice. It was chewy and not dry. I definitely say, it is a MUST TRY! Though the drive is long, the food quality and quantity is worth it. I will definitely be going back for more! We ordered the: 6pc Pork Buns - $18.88 Jin Jins Savory Pork Dumplings (8pcs descent size) $14.88 Spicy Yo Po Noodles $16.88 FYI, it is near Whalers Brewery.

My first time here and it was amazing. We got two versions of the cold noodles (The Jayd and Peanut butter noodles) with chicken bao buns. It was a nice day so waiting outside on their patio was relaxing and fun. People watching, checking out their posted articles and reviews on the wall, and the variety of small flowers all made the wait that much more enjoyable. The cold noodles came out first, and were just what I needed to get me primed for the MAIN reason to travel to this destination, in my opinion. *Drum roll* THESE CHICKEN BAO BUNS are what dreams are made of. A little crispy, a lot soft and chewy, and just the perfect amount of tender juice delicious chicken waiting for you on the inside of this dough cocoon. All like, "Hi it's me, thanks for letting me cool off a bit, but I've been WAITING for you!" - no time was wasted and three of them disappeared in record time. I could easily eat here 3-4 times a week. Tip: definitely call and order ahead to give yourself plenty of time. This place is the BEST and are super busy so don't act like a rookie (like me) and show up hoping you'll be the next order in line. If you have a memory lapse and do just this, I promise you it will be worth the wait. But don't be a dummy. Calling ahead will have you leaving this spot BUNNED out, instead of bummed out. read more

I can't believe that while living around the corner from this wonderful restaurant I never made it in until today. I have walked by many times, but the menu was unfamiliar (although I love to try something new) and the location unassuming. I had no idea what I was missing, until I searched yelp for Chinese foods reviews . Based on the reviews/ recommendations I ordered the Pork buns and jayd fusion. The buns were incredible, moist, crispy and full of flavor. The jayd fusion was unlike anything I've had. Described as a scallion pancake, they reminded me most of a thin crust pizza, but at the same time completely different. The sauce was fantastic, spicy and complex. It was a busy time, mid afternoon on a Saturday so I didn't get to interact with the owners and personally thank them. But I will be back! read more

We usually get food at Jayd Bun 2-3x a month, and the Tomato Soup Noodles and Jayd fusion are our go-tos...along with Spicy Wontons and Spicy Yo Po Noodles. Their food is fresh, interesting and hearty. Yesterday I tested positive for Covid, first time ever. I feel like total crap and nothing sounded appealing. My husband offered to go to Jayd Bun but I couldn't imagine eating anything spicy. I took a look at the menu and man, that congee and won ton noodle soup was calling to me. It was the most comforting, wonderful, nourishing dish I've ever had. Better than homemade chicken soup. Just the most absolutely perfect food to eat when nothing else sounds good. Thank you Jayd Bun for getting me through these bad days, you've always been here for the good but now you're my go-to for sick days too. Don't delay. A total gem in South Kingstown. First things first, Joe is the nicest. I called for a takeout order and, bring in quarantine and all and not eating out much, I ordered a ton of food. He asked me how many people I was ordering for and when I told him, he basically talked me off the ledge of ordering roughly $100,000 worth of food. Thanks Joe. The food is tremendous. Everything made from scratch in house. The buns are amazing (both pork and veggie), the spicy yo po and the tomato soup are delicious, as is the wonton soup. If you get the urge for Asian and you're in the vicinity you have to go here. You won't be disappointed. And Joe, you're wrong about the next day leftovers...everything was amazing for lunch the following day. read more

We love this place. Authentic Chinese baotze and other noodle dishes as well as soups. We eat here regularly and they are great. It's a good idea to order ahead and they don't have indoor dining. Give it a try. read more

The most amazing meal & service- we'll return in a heartbeat! The pork & chicken buns were delicious, as were the Jayd Fusion & Chinese pancake. Followed up with Beef noodle soup, October noodles & YoPo. No one went home hungry. OMG. Friendly people and great food? Yes, please. This is the place. I phoned in an order and they said it would be ready in 30 minutes. They told me when they expected me as they cooked my Chinese pancake so it was hot off the griddle when I arrived. It was excellent although the hot dog in the middle threw me off. Next time I will order without. We had the veggie buns. Incredible. So much better than to steamed buns you may be familiar with. The peanut butter noodles were OK, just not outstanding like the buns and pancake. We brought it home this time but next time we will take our food to either Whalers Brewery or Sons of Liberty Distillery, both of which are within 3 minutes of Jayd Bun. While you can eat in the restaurant, you shouldn't plan on doing that. There are only 3 or 4 tables and it's not really conducive to eating there. read more

We have eaten here at least five times over the last two weeks. The food is delicious and made to order, everything tastes fresh and the flavor profiles are amazing. It's obvious that Annie and Joe deeply care about what they serve, they are adding so much value to Peace Dale and the greater Wakefield area. My favorite is the spicy wonton dish, but the pan fried buns are ridiculously good. The veggie buns are our favorite with a vegetable slaw that has amazing flavor with hints of ginger. The most authentic Chinese food I've had in RI. Everything is hand made right in front of you, prices are outstanding. I got about 7 pan fried rolls with a sausage filling for about $8, and ate them over three meals because they were so filling and delicious, try it with their chili oil! I sampled all but one of the entrees on the bill of fare at this newer restaurant in Peacedale this past weekend. I was able to accomplish this feat with the help of 6 others in my party. The 3 pan-fried bun selections were all very, very good. All meticulously made from scratch. The soup buns were not available the evening we were there. Almost on par with the buns were the peanut noodles, won ton noodles, and the tomato noodle soups, in that order. Although I was really looking forward to the Chinese pancakes they were only so-so. Dining in at this establishment might be somewhat problematic; the wait for the food could tax your patience, especially for the buns. If the kitchen is really busy the wonderful flavors from the cooking might overwhelm their ventilation system, and end up on your clothes. Which is pretty much the case anytime the kitchen shares the same space with the dining area. Their overuse of plastic utensils, bowls and plates leave much to be desired. At least there were no plastic straws in sight! I wish Jayd Bun the best. I truly hope they succeed. Their food is wonderful. The staff is very attentive considering how many hats they wear. Please go and patronize this authentic Chinese restaurant. There is no other Chinese eating establishment like it in Rhode Island. You won't find any "brown sauce" items on their menu! You owe it to yourself to taste real Chinese food. Take it from this Chinese American transplant from San Francisco who's family was in the Chinese restaurant business. Lastly I think the best way to experience this authentic Chinese food might be to call it in for takeout. That will eliminate the waiting when dining in. And when you come in to pick up your order you might want to take a peek over the counter to see how the buns are made-to-order. Then you'll understand why It takes so long to get your food. This place had been on our radar for months but each time we were in the neighbourhood, they were closed. Yesterday, we were finally able to visit and let me tell you; it was worth it! Oddly enough ... Good American-style Chinese food is hard to find in Rhode Island. I have not yet…read morefound a good spot ... and China Garden is no exception. Having said that, of the 7z or so, places I have tried in RI, AI would put this toward the top of the list (which isn't saying much). American-style Chinese food is my favourite junk food ... my guilty pleasure. For many years it has been my comfort food (I dove into a plate of Orange Chicken after failing my driving test in high school) and my New Year's Eve tradition (having waited an hour and a half in a freezing cold doorway at Cathay Garden last year). The bottom line is this is just average. You won't hate it ... but it's not as good as 80% of what you'd find in Massachusetts. Chicken Fingers ... This is the golf standard of how I judge good Chinese takeout. They were below average ... a thin, rubbery strip of chicken with around a 20% chicken to 80% breading ratio. The texture was odd, almost as if it was small pieces of chopped up chicken, reconstituted. They also tasted as though they had been soaked in chicken broth. The rice flour coating was good ... but there was way too much vs. the chicken making them too thin, too crispy and too dry. Crab Rangoon ... Incredibly garlic-powder tasting. They are the triangles of dough (normally my favourite kind) and not the little ball-shaped ones more common in Rhode Island. They were just overpoweringly garlic tasting for me. These cheese was cream-cheesy with a slightly sweet crab flavour. A little skimpy on the filling and way too much garlic. Eggroll ... Too small. This was spring roll-sized. Dry filling ... mostly cabbage and not much pork. Didn't have much flavour until dipped in the hot mustard or sweet and sour, which made it better. Didn't taste fresh and was too dry and bland. Pork fried rice ... Judging by the colour of the rice, I thought I'd be disappointed because this looked more like yellow Spanish rice. It actually tasted better than it looked. No egg pieces and very few pieces of onion but there were several thin pieces of pork in it. It needed tons of soy sauce and a small bit of hot mustard. Not the best fried rice I've ever had but I thought it would be worse. BBQ Pork Strips ... The BBQ sauce tasted more like Kraft BBQ sauce than the sweet pink Chinese sauce. Other than that, these were pretty typical of what you find elsewhere with a less BBQ/smokey flavour. General Tso's Chicken ... Meh. Not the worst but not the best. The chicken fingers are similar to the pieces of chicken you'd find in here. The sauce is very sweet and sticky but not as complex as some of the other places I've tried. Not much garlic and citrus to layer in with the sugary sweetness of the sauce here. Pan Fried Peking Ravioli (pork dumplings) ... The best dish they make. Perfectly pan seared on the sides, doughy and a nice pork flavour inside. The included soy/plum (?) dipping sauce was good and went nicely with the dumplings. I'd come back to order these. Condiments ... Gave a miniscule amount of hot mustard sauce compared to other places but it was homemade. Very hot but a bit too sweet. Duck sauce was more like runny applesauce. Homemade but not the best I've had. Overall, 3 stars might seem like a bad review ... but it's really average, which this was. I have been spoiled by the great Chinese food in Massachusetts. For some reason, some states just don't have good suppliers ... I find it odd that Chinese food looks/tastes different at each place in Rhode Island and none of it is great. If I were going to order Chinese food from any restaurant in Rhode Island, this would actually be at the top of the list, which is a sad commentary.

It's half breading now and falls apart on the fork before you can get it into your mouth. I was blown away at the reduction in size of the chicken, the change from chicken breast to thigh meat and doesn't taste half as good as it did. That's all I got the last two times I've eaten there so thats all I can give an opinion on but I'll guarantee everything's changed there in one way or another in the name of the all mighty dollar. It feels like a significant amount of money was invested in the building itself, but very little attention was given to the landscape and arrival experience. The entrance is undersized and creates an awkward bottleneck when guests are trying to get inside. While there was clearly thought put into the interior design, the sheer scale of the space makes it feel more like dining in a warehouse than a restaurant. Aside from the bar tucked into the back, there is very little to break up the large open room. I won't dwell on this since it's not an architectural review, but the design team could have done a better job with the spatial layout. The fit and finish are well executed, but the decision to completely cover the windows creates a dark, disconnected environment with little connection to the outside world. It feels as though the design team was intentionally trying to hide the building's location once you're inside. The lighting and acoustics only add to the problem. The extensive use of track lighting aimed directly at the tables creates a spotty, glare-filled environment. The acoustics were equally problematic. The large open space, combined with the hard surfaces throughout, made it difficult to hold a conversation without raising your voice for much of the evening. Moving on to the food, the disappointment continued. We ordered the seafood dumplings, oysters and littleneck clams, and for entrées the yellowfin tuna, scallops, and bouillabaisse. Starting with the dumplings, they appeared to be pan-fried, but they were covered in a bland 'sauce' and immediately turned into a mushy mess. The filling itself was good, but $13 for three small dumplings is a difficult value proposition. The oysters and littlenecks were excellent. Nothing negative to say there. The oyster selection was heavily East Coast, which I appreciated, but I still found it odd that there were any West Coast oysters on the menu at all. Given Rhode Island's abundance of exceptional local seafood, I would have expected the raw bar to lean entirely into local and regional offerings. As for the entrées, only one of the three dishes, the bouillabaisse, arrived hot. Both the tuna and scallops were served lukewarm. Given the already lengthy wait between the dumplings, raw bar, and main courses, we didn't have the patience to send them back. Unfortunately, I don't have much positive feedback on the entrées themselves. The pairing of a traditional Italian-style risotto with seared tuna and a miso-based dressing felt confused and disjointed. I expected a more cohesive Asian-inspired approach to what was described as a spring risotto. The bouillabaisse and scallops were fine, although I found the potato accompaniment with the scallops somewhat uninspired. Looking at the menu as a whole, it feels as though the culinary team is trying to capitalize on the popularity of Asian-inspired cuisine without fully understanding how to pair those flavors or execute them effectively. "Atelier" is a bold word to include in a restaurant's name. It suggests creativity, craftsmanship, and refinement. Based on our experience, this restaurant has not yet earned that distinction. For a restaurant this busy, they must be doing something right. Unfortunately, based on our experience, the food didn't live up to the hype.

I ordered the famous hash omelet (huge, so, so good) and it comes with your choice of two sides. I apologize for not knowing what all of the options were but I opted for home fries and toast (another choice was baked beans, I remember that one). My wife had the Supreme omelet which came with a meat, peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese. It was also huge and delicious. While we were sitting at the counter chatting up a local, she mentioned that Oatley's had just won the local Community Choice award. I can see why. One other thing to mention is their bread. I don't know what they offer in particular but a woman came in, asked "how many do you have left" and they said "one". She took it. It was a nice, homemade loaf of raisin bread for about $7. I think she would've bought 5 if she could. I think everyone who likes breakfast would like Oatley's II.

Jayd Bun takes a simple concept of all fresh ingredients and small batches to provide delicious food that is as satisfying to eat as it is to watch the cooks prepare in the open kitchen. The pork buns are absolutely packed into a pan to fry crispy bottom and tender bodies to perfection. When they are served, they are piping hot with a glistening surface and savory slight floral aroma that made me want bite into it with total disregard for it having come right from the stove, but after gaining a bit of will power, I absolutely enjoyed every morsel. The bun is crispy, fluffy and tender - the filling is a complex flavor of lean pork, spring onion, and spices. The 6 buns that come with a single order could easily be finished by a single person but were thoroughly enjoyed by my family, too. The Chinese pancake was something I was not familiar with. Think of a crepe or galette but chinese-style. It is a mungbean base that is prepared with eggs, sausage, crispy fried noodle strips and all kinds of flavors. It is flavorful and the mix of textures really makes it delicious. We finished our meal with the wanton noodle soup and it did not disappoint. Bite sized wontons float in a boil brimming with noodles that were cut at the time for our order, egg, and broth. A bit of cilantro and spring onion round out the flavor. We we absolutely stuffed but in a completely satisfied way. The owners said that they spend the day from the crack of dawn preparing for the food they will prepare later in the day and it really shines through. I have to be honest, I was excited, but not sure what to expect with Jayd Bun. Having tasted the food, I an very happy to have authentic food prepared with love and dedication to provide great product and great service. Let me just tell you something!!! The second you walk through the doors to this little hidden gem in the middle of PeaceDale you know it's something special. You see the awards, the authentic Chinese decor , the beautiful decorations and then you see nothing big happy faces greeting you. You can tell they love what they do. You can tell they enjoy it, take pride in it and you can smell why as you wait. Its takeout only if you don't know. But they do a good job telling you that on multiple signs before you even enter. They also recommend calling ahead which is also stated every where too! Now for the best part!!!! The food is absolutely UNREAL!! Words can't do it justice so you will have to find out for yourself ! Trust me.... YOU WANT TO FIND OUT! I have never seen or had food like what they offer anywhere . Their spicy wontons are absolutely FIRE!!! Sooooo spicy yet soooo much flavor. Their Spicy Yo Po Noodle with their hand made noodles I swear is the best noodle dish I have ever had! It's even better the next day in my opinion lol. Tonight we did a full blown try everything at Jayd Bun. How do you choose a favorite. The buns- both Pork and Veggie. Just try to keep your mouth from drooling the deliciousness. Nearly impossible. The pork filling is just filled with flavor that the oooey gooey bun is wrapped perfectly around. Veggie was just oozing with the mixture of spices, veggies and love. I had to stop eating them to enjoy the rest of the spread JinJin Dumplings- pork and we were lucky enough to get our hands on the veggie of these. If you got past my daughter slapping your hand away from the pork then consider yourself lucky. But I loved the veggie ones with spinach and mushrooms. Fusion- This is the perfect before you get home snack to enjoy the rest. I can't even describe it except get yourself an order! Let's talk noodles. Jayd Noodle Yopo Peanut and Spicy Tomato. Peanut is definitely my favorite. That sauce I could drink (actually did when the dish was gone)So fresh with the cucumber and chicken. Yopo- I am not a huge egg person on my food. I heard about this wondeful place from some friends so we decided to take the 45 minute ride down to check it out. It was DEFINITELY worth the ride. We couldn't believe how fresh the food was. The menu is small but perfect. The tomato soup was the best tomato soup I ever had. Full of flavor and the noodles are to die for. I never had real handmade noodles before and I never thought it would be a big difference, I WAS WRONG!!! It's soooooo obvious that we hey we're handmade and fresh. INCREDIBLE. The pork buns we got were out of this world! We never had anything like them before. The dough was SOOOO SOFT and crunchy yet soft like and fresh. The pork filling was juicy and loaded with flavor. We got to chit chat with the owners Joe & Annie and they were extremely kind, generous and funny. We can't wait to go back again next week and try the wonton soup and the pancake. I would particularly recommend: Pork Buns - with a crispy pan-fried bottom these tasty buns are not to be missed! October Noodle - pickled cabbage and ground pork combined with hand made noodles, the flavors are well balanced and delicious. Chef's congee - this soup is pure comfort food! Delicate flavors of ginger and chicken in a porridge of rice, warming and soothing all in one. Chinese Beef Patty - can't go wrong with local beef and green onions! This is a small family owned business - know what you want ahead of time and call your order in when they start taking calls. Answering machine is updated frequently and you may have try back a few times due to getting a busy signal if it's a Friday or Saturday. It's worth it! Jayd Bun is the absolute best. The experience starts with the email response you get from them after placing your order. The tone of the email is inviting and exciting, having you wish your order was already ready. Upon arriving, you are greeted with a super friendly staff. In fact, when we picked up our order, Joe (the owner), came right out to greet us and thank us for our patronage. Now, for the best part, the food! Boy, is it good. Joe prepared a mixture of items for us, which included the famous buns, noodles, spicy wontons, and jin jins. From the first bite, you were left reaching for more. The portions were more than enough. We ended up taking several buns home as leftovers. The food is fresh and flavorful. It's obvious from the taste that they take great pride and care in putting out the best product. I've lived in the Wakefield-Peacedale area for a while now and this establishment has never failed to impress. The food is great, and comes at a great value. I highly recommend the combo box with the tomato soup, edamame, and any of the three dumpling flavors. The quality is superb as the dumplings are crispy on the outside yet fluffy and warm on the inside with an explosively flavorful filling of meat or veggies. The soup is hearty and comforting. In addition to the famous items on the menu, other items including the scallion pancakes and cold peanut noodles which are just as good! The staff and family who own the restaurant are extremely friendly as well- which always enhances the experience. In all, Jayd Bun is an amazing restaurant and I highly recommend if you live in the area and/ or visiting. read more

Very disappointing. This style of food doesn't do well as take out - it's not burgers and fries. I had high hopes given all the awards (how many did they pay for?) they supposedly have, yet I realized this place is so mid. I had the buns, which were not very tasty and were gummy by the time I ate them. 10 minutes additional steaming in the container didn't do them well. Maybe they'd be better fresh, but this place is takeout only. The scallion pancake was oily and gross. Normally it's a crisp slice of bread, here it felt like a greasy pizza in the bad way. Finally, the noodles were so mild and salty. The vegies were burned and had a sour taste. Would not recommend this place, it shows Rhode Island doesn't know good Chinese food if this is their best. read more

I have to say, I was blown away by both the service and the food. From the moment I placed my order, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's rare to encounter such kindness, but everyone I interacted with genuinely made me feel valued, which really made my experience stand out. The food itself was absolutely amazing! Every dish was flavorful and prepared to perfection. The portion sizes are generous -- I was definitely filled up after my meal and still had leftovers for later. If you're looking for amazing Asian cuisine, look no further. I've lived in RhodeIsland for 10 years and I don't know why I waited so long to try this place. The dumplings.... I mean. Come on. Can you get any better than these? They were moist and packed with flavor! Don't even get me started on the noodles. Everything was so flavorful, and hands down delicious. Also, their customer service is unlike anything I've ever experienced. They were able to get me in day of, since it was my first time ordering with them, and they responded so quickly and even threw in an extra noodle dish for us. I went yesterday for the first time after hearing many people ranting & raving about it. It was super busy and I guess I wasn't the only one who recently heard about them lol. They were working hard and the owners quickly welcomed me as soon as I walked in and were very attentive and helpful. The man joe recommended the pork buns and tomato soup as they are his favorite so I took his word. THEY WERE FANTASTIC! I could taste how fresh everything was. The flavors were incredible. Placed a order a few days ahead of time online because we were traveling from far and had appt to maoe leaving us a small window for pick up time. and they went out of their way to make sure we had it ahead of time, which actually surprised their own front of house staff lol. This food is outrageously good. My wife and I have gone once a week every week since last March. Haven't missed a single week because the food is THAT good. The buns are incredible, our favorite are the pork. Noodle dishes are delicious, personal favorite is the October noodle, or the Yo Po if I want something with a bit of spice. Soups are amazing too. AND they recently added the "Fusion" described as Chinese pizza. You won't believe how good that is. It's not just another take out place, it's WAY better. Jayd Bun is the type of place you go to whenever you need some good food, smiling faces, and satisfactory atmosphere to tie it all together. I moved to Wakefield in 2021, and ever since then this family has made sure myself and my kiddos are well fed and well cared for. They've been a phenomenal piece of the community and to top it all off, even helped my husband to propose to me in 2022! Jayd Bun will always have special place in our community and hearts. If you are looking for true authentic Chinese food then this place is a must! It is family owned and run with farm fresh ingredients, there is nothing better than that! We ordered both the pork and chicken buns that were perfectly cooked and so fresh! We also tried the Jin Jin dumplings which the whole family enjoyed. Make sure to put this place on the list to try! Take out only, so make sure you order with plenty of time to have them cook to order (how amazing is that!?!). My husband and I called in our order ahead of time. We got the fusion, pork bao buns, beef noodle soup, Jin Jin dumplings and some yopo noodles. Let me just say we were so full and didn't finish half of our food! ( Leftovers we're also excellent) The buns were amazing the flavors and textures sang together in harmony. The Jayd fusion was crispy, flaky, savory and delicious. My husband was enthralled in the flavors of his dumplings and refused to share.
