It seems like its a family restaurant, which the cashier was very kind and welcoming to us! We were also the only ones in the store. They don't really offer free water here, but luckily she was able to provide water bottles for us! We ordered the half crispy and half soy garlic flavored chicken. The soy garlic was actually very nice! I did enjoy that the most. The skin was also very crispy and crunchy, the chicken itself was very juicy. The chicken here feels like it's on the smaller end, but everything was still pretty good. I wouldn't say it's authentic Korean fried chicken, I feel like they're just missing the mark of the Korean flavors, but it does taste more like Korean inspired lol. I also wish the radishes weren't small cubes and wish they were bigger cubes. We also got calamari as well, this one was also pretty nice to have. Overall, the chicken here was still pretty good! Besides bbq Chicken, Korean restaurant options in SGV have been quite poor experiences. We decided to finally try this spot out considering it's closer. Here's what we ordered: **Crispy Whole Chicken (Crispy & Yangnyum): The chicken itself was nice and crispy but the ratio of meat to bone was disappointing. The yangnyum batter was not the most flavorful which was also disappointing. We did also purchase a side of their soy garlic (additional $1) sauce and that was garlicky and delicious! Overall, considering how little meat there was, it left us unsatisfied. (3/5) **Fried Sesame Balls: Very airy and quite delicious. It came with a spicy & sweet sauce but we preferred it solo. (4/5) **Red Guava Fruit Tea: Requested it less sweet and it was indeed less sweet. The quantity of ice was light and you could actually taste the tea which was great. Solid drink for a non tea shop. (3.5/5) The food overall was decent and the service was in between mediocre and decent at best. When we first arrived, the lady at the counter lacked customer service but that's how most Asian spots are. The interior is very uninviting and probably meant for takeout orders. This spot sells Korean Fried Chicken but not operated by Korean people and you can really tell by the quality of their food. I'm not saying that this spot is terrible but do come in with lower expectations, which we did. The lack of customer service is the reason why this review is 3-stars and not 4-stars. The Yang-nyum drumsticks had slightly more flavor than the soy garlic but wasn't enough to lick my fingers over. The crispy whole chicken was lightly salted as well. In addition, the bathroom has a special security lock on it that requires you to ask them for help with opening it. The second time I asked her to open the door, she responded with "again," in an annoyed manner and begrudgingly opened the restroom. That response was unnecessary and unprofessional. Therefore, considering those conditions, I do not care if it's one time or multiple once upon request from a customer I expect the door to be opened. My first time trying this place and I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy the chicken was. I've tried Bonchon and BBQ chicken before and would rate this place is up there with Bonchon. What I like about it is they serve the whole wing vs Bonchon that separates the wing and counts them as two separate pieces. They are also crunchier and has more glaze on it. I did take out and the order took about 20 mins to make. But it was fine since I was waiting for my kid to finish her swim lesson anyway.
