We stopped by here for dinner and prepare to wait about 20 mins after ordering since they make it fresh! We weren't in a rush at all, so waiting was no problem with us. It seems like its a family restaurant, which the cashier was very kind and welcoming to us! We were also the only ones in the store. They don't really offer free water here, but luckily she was able to provide water bottles for us! We ordered the half crispy and half soy garlic flavored chicken. The soy garlic was actually very nice! I did enjoy that the most. The skin was also very crispy and crunchy, the chicken itself was very juicy. The chicken here feels like it's on the smaller end, but everything was still pretty good. I wouldn't say it's authentic Korean fried chicken, I feel like they're just missing the mark of the Korean flavors, but it does taste more like Korean inspired lol. I also wish the radishes weren't small cubes and wish they were bigger cubes. We also got calamari as well, this one was also pretty nice to have. Overall, the chicken here was still pretty good! We were well taken care of as this was our first time visiting. Tables were clean as well. Not too much seating, but it doesn't seem that popular either. Our go to KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) spot in SGV is bbq in Alhambra but we've been curious about this spot for the past year. Besides bbq Chicken, Korean restaurant options in SGV have been quite poor experiences. We decided to finally try this spot out considering it's closer. Here's what we ordered: **Crispy Whole Chicken (Crispy & Yangnyum): The chicken itself was nice and crispy but the ratio of meat to bone was disappointing. The yangnyum batter was not the most flavorful which was also disappointing. We did also purchase a side of their soy garlic (additional $1) sauce and that was garlicky and delicious! Overall, considering how little meat there was, it left us unsatisfied. (3/5) **Fried Sesame Balls: Very airy and quite delicious. It came with a spicy & sweet sauce but we preferred it solo. (4/5) **Red Guava Fruit Tea: Requested it less sweet and it was indeed less sweet. The quantity of ice was light and you could actually taste the tea which was great. Solid drink for a non tea shop. (3.5/5) The food overall was decent and the service was in between mediocre and decent at best. When we first arrived, the lady at the counter lacked customer service but that's how most Asian spots are. The interior is very uninviting and probably meant for takeout orders. This spot sells Korean Fried Chicken but not operated by Korean people and you can really tell by the quality of their food. I'm not saying that this spot is terrible but do come in with lower expectations, which we did. The lack of customer service is the reason why this review is 3-stars and not 4-stars. Know this about Oh! My Chicken-- the chicken is really good, but the wait for your order will be loooooong. The chicken here is made to order and it comes out at roughly the same temperature as lava. If you don't feel like waiting for 20-30 minutes for your KFC order to fry up, make sure to call it in or order through their website. For sides, we like the cabbage salad and the pickled radish. They do not serve beer, but the chicken will still be scorching hot by the time it gets to meet up with that ice cold can of Cass or Terra at your place. The chicken overall was just okay. It was freshly made which was nice but the Soy Garlic Drumsticks were lacking in flavor. It was like I was tasting the ghost of the soy garlic sauce on the chicken. The Yang-nyum drumsticks had slightly more flavor than the soy garlic but wasn't enough to lick my fingers over. The crispy whole chicken was lightly salted as well. I've had better soy garlic chicken in other Korean chicken spots and a crunchier batter too. Service was attentive and overall great, the establishment is small and has a few tables to sit at. They are freshly made so I would recommend if you don't want to wait. Just call them beforehand and they're just gonna accommodate your order. The lady who was helping me is nice. There's a fee if you want to use credit card and they let me know there's plenty of parking in the plaza. It's pretty small too, but the plaza is not that busy. I will always recommend Oh My Chicken in Monterey Park. It is a wonderful locally owned fried chicken chop with some surprising sides. Such as takoyaki and sesame balls. To be blunt the customer service here is terrible. I've visited this establishment a few times and though the woman at the front was never over friendly she was also never inhospitable. This last time I went was a nail in the coffin for why I will never return. I needed to use the restroom and she was annoyed that she had to open it, mind you, I had ordered and paid for my food and their sign on the door says for customers. In addition, the bathroom has a special security lock on it that requires you to ask them for help with opening it. The second time I asked her to open the door, she responded with "again," in an annoyed manner and begrudgingly opened the restroom. That response was unnecessary and unprofessional. Therefore, considering those conditions, I do not care if it's one time or multiple once upon request from a customer I expect the door to be opened. My first time trying this place and I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy the chicken was. I've tried Bonchon and BBQ chicken before and would rate this place is up there with Bonchon. What I like about it is they serve the whole wing vs Bonchon that separates the wing and counts them as two separate pieces. They are also crunchier and has more glaze on it. I did take out and the order took about 20 mins to make. But it was fine since I was waiting for my kid to finish her swim lesson anyway. I like that they make it to order and it stayed crunchy when we ate it even after the 20 minute drive home. We didn't dine there but the place looks nice and clean. She informed us that some pieces were smaller than usual, so she packed in some extra pieces to make up for it. That was greatly appreciated! The chicken was very fresh and crispy when we arrived home to eat. The sauces were plentiful, but not drenching the chicken. For 10 pieces, they were SO large that we barely ate 2-3 pieces each and saved the rest.
