Near perfect local move was executed by Julio and his team. The whole experience from the moment JC came to give us at-home quote to actually doing the move was very well done. I had to reschedule a week before and JC was able to work with us on alternate dates. After the move, there was a minor scratch and JC personally came by with Julio to touch up. He touched up other marks on the armoire even though they were not made by his crew. He even left a can of touch up oil for us. Other noteworthy thing with them was JC was one of the few Bay Area movers who took the trouble to come to the house to give us an estimate and then agreed to a fixed bid quite as well. After getting burned from bad mover experience a couple of years ago, I was glad when JC showed up at my place for in home estimate. Instead of guessing over the phone or providing an hourly rate, he took the time to do an inventory of all my stuff and quote a flat do not exceed price. No overtime rates, transportation fee or any hidden fine print. Better still, he required no "booking fee" or upfront deposit. He said he only gets paid at the end when we are satisfied with the move. His crew was great, packed everything like it was theirs, and went above and beyond when they disposed of trash and packing materials for us too. His rates are very reasonable for the high quality of service provided. An example of this is the use of runners to avoid foot tracking from outdoors, they wrap your stairways and bannisters with blankets to prevent damage. Everyone was professional and polite, which is something you don't experience as much these days. I was very pleased with the service I received and the efforts of my two movers, Jose & Jose. JC Express was also extremely affordable and reasonable. They charge by the hour based on the number of movers, which is dependent on what and how much is being moved. That method of charging for the service was extremely helpful to me in managing costs since my move was well outside of Contra Costa County. This is my 2nd time using JC Express Movers. They did a great job the first time we moved from our big home and a great job again going to our new home. This move wasn't easy because they were lots of steps and hills in our new home. I love to see that I recognized some of the same guys as last time. As we get older it gets harder on us to move and ask friends to help. It's more stressful to do it that way. The movers were friendly, careful and efficient. They took good care of our property, both in the packing , putting on the truck and taking off the truck. The estimate was done without an inspection of our property. I knew it was low so I expected it would cost more. But it cost almost twice as much. We had accumulated more property than we realized. It took a lot longer than we expected. My recommendation is that you insist that whatever company you use that they go over all areas of your home or apartment including garages, storage areas and patios before making an estimate. However we needed to get rid of more of our stuff. If in doubt throw it out. Moving is expensive!! Again the moving crew at JC express was incredibly hard working and earned every cent they got. These folks were very friendly, professional, and kept moving long after I had run out of gas. The appropriate items were wrapped, padded, and moved with care. To make the move harder - I had lots of items and in three locations in three different cities. They worked 12 HOURS and never slowed down. When they arrived they had two trucks which I didn't think would contain all my stuff - they made it work efficiently. Lastly, they were the LOWEST PRICE of the three I called! Great moving experience. Jessie was excellent with booking and details. Even through some last minute rescheduling (on our end) Jessie was accommodating and flexible. JC Express Movers is the best moving company I have used so far. It was a last minute move for me on Thanksgiving weekend from Walnut Creek to Oakland hills. I had just closed on my condo and needed to find a moving company within a few days on one of the busiest weekends of the year. After contacting about a dozen moving companies, none of which could help me move under such short notice on such a busy holiday weekend, I came across JC Express Movers. JC was wonderful!!! He made the scheduling process smooth, quick and efficient. On the moving day, his big smile and great personality eased my moving pain by assuring me I will be out of my old house in no time. Him and his team were very gentle and efficient with the movement of my furniture and treated it like their own. I was out of the old house and into the new one in no time. JC even fixed some furniture for me. I loved the red carpet treatment. What a special touch that was. I will definitely be using JC Movers for all of my moving needs in the future. read more

Excellent customer service and time taken to schedule and book our move. We had a few hiccups with our move, which I was very surprised due to the stellar reviews. However, I feel like I should give my opinion on here so others can also see that there can sometimes be hiccups. The positive is that they were problem solvers on the spot. Negative is I did end up with some damaged furniture and my moving experience did not seem stellar like the other people who gave 5 star reviews. 1. I noticed the movers have arrived when I looked out of our balcony. However they took a long time and I decided to go downstairs to check it out. Turns out they were trying to contact the scheduler for my phone number, which they did not have. 2. I called before the move to schedule a pickup of a refrigerator we bought that is the next town over but movers did not seem to know about it. It seems the person that scheduled our move did not communicate this to movers. We planned our route on the spot, which was a good recovery on their part. 3. Movers showed up with two small trucks, which I was surprised considering we had 2 bedroom apartment to move. Movers didn't seem to express confidence that everything could fit, but made it work anyway. I feel like navigating and loading one large truck would have been quicker than trying to fit many times into two small trucks. Not sure if the move took longer because of this, it did feel like it. 4. Quote included 3 movers but only 2 were there. When I asked about the 3rd, he said he'll reassess our apartment and see if he needed a 3rd. After 10 min of assessing, he decided he needed a 3rd. He had to call for help and help did arrive possibly 15-30 min later. At the end of the move, he wanted to charge me 3 movers from his time of arrival. I was quick to point out that the 3rd mover only came 15-30 min later. He adjusted the moving cost. 5. Midway through the move, the movers requested to stop by a store to get some water and something to eat for lunch. I obliged because I felt bad we didn't have water ready for them when they arrived. Though from past moves, movers had always come prepared with their own water and meals. We offered to buy lunch, which we did. They took a short break before offloading items at our destination. 6. Movers came with us to pick up the new fridge we bought for moving to our new place. As we were about to leave, I noticed one of the trucks had their back door open with all furniture exposed. I don't know how long it had been open, considering we loaded the fridge into the other truck. We immediately got out of our car and flagged the driver down to let him know his truck door was open. He was about to drive off with the contents exposed. 7. After the move, we noticed both our dressers had dings in the front that were not there before. The walls had some black scruffs, which my husband ended up fixing with paint. Earlier this week, we noticed scratches on our floor lamp shade. Today I discovered that our portable ac had scratches on the front and the water drainer part at the back was broken (this explains the puddle of water I found at the old place, it likely broke there and water leaked out). I wanted to add that we tipped them for the job well done and bought them lunch despite hiccups. But as the days go by and I notice more items damaged, it is a little upsetting. I hope the ac will be the last item I discover is broken. I give them 3 star rating because the move went well overall and the movers were super friendly and nice. 2 stars taken off for the hiccups. read more
