What a stress free experience moving was with JC Express Movers! First off I had to change the date of my move a few times due to some unforeseen circumstances and They were more than accommodating and flexible! An average, if overpriced move. First off, I provided this review to the company promptly after the move. Was not directly contacted in response. Let's get directly to it. Three-bedroom move 5 miles apart. Total time, 9 hours billed. Pros: - Team was on time (early) - Team appeared thoughtful about packing things (blankets, plastic wrap) - Worked to prevent damage to the carpet with runners Cons: - Team was incredibly slow and took many breaks, including to watch videos (World Cup) or spend lengthy time in the bathroom over and over again - Many items were banged up as the blankets were not enough to stop items hitting each other and denting/chipping wood items - Team took items out of our trash can (discarded purse), then dropped them in the new house trash can when they weren't found to be valuable - Took a lunch break on the clock and left chicken bones and ketchup in our garage I've had a dozen moves in the last 10 years and this crew was about the slowest I've ever seen. There were three, but rarely would you see all three active at one time. Overall, an average move with a higher cost than warranted. read more

They showed up on time.. started off by walking the space to offer a game plan... listened to how we wanted to do it and offered solutions when needed. .. busted their @$$.. JC Express Movers are reliable, professional, hard working, and have very reasonable rates. They recently moved us from our 2800 square foot house to a 4500 square foot house. They spent three days (one for packing our entire house, one for moving us, and one for unpacking our entire house.) Everyone who entered our home was respectful and courteous. Additionally, they were very efficient, extremely careful in handling our furniture and art work, and kept both homes clean and neat. I can't recommend them highly enough. They were great responding to my email inquiry for an estimate, and were easy to get in touch with to coordinate times/the move. Definitely hard working guys! The only thing is that some damage was done to my door frames and doors which I didn't notice until later because I began unpacking on the first floor first. Not happy with these findings due to my house being a new built. Also a broken wall mount that is not cheap. I didn't think I had to be behind each one of them as I had asked them to be very careful with the walls as well since I had just had my house painted. I have moved many times in my life and JC Express Movers is the best moving company I've used thus far. My husband and I were moving from a 2-bed/2-bath apartment to a 4-bed/3-bath house and have a lot of nice, heavy, dark wood furniture - they were able to move it all without a single scratch on the furniture, apartment, or house! We didn't take any pictures, but similar to other photos on their Yelp page, they wrapped furniture properly and took care to roll out floor coverings and doorframe, wall, and stair coverings to protect anything and everything from being damaged while items were being carried out of the apartment and into the house. In terms of pricing, I would say their rates are about average, maybe slightly pricey compared to other movers I have hired in the past. However, also in comparison to those other movers in the past, the movers from JC Movers were much more polite, fast, hardworking, and knowledgeable. We really felt that we got what we paid for, in a good way! David and Jose were excellent and we really appreciate the backbreaking effort they put into our move. While we don't plan on moving again anytime soon (or maybe ever) we would highly recommend them and the company overall to friends and family. I know I sometimes feel skeptical of Yelp pages that have almost all 5-star reviews, but JC Movers definitely deserves 5 out of 5 stars :) read more

Have you ever used a moving company that offered pleasant customer service from start to finish even when you have a ton of stairs and narrow hallways? Well, I haven't and I have moved A LOT! That is, until I found JC Express. We had 3 gentleman on the day of our move: Jesus, Luis and Heraldo. These guys worked hard and they were so nice! I was still finishing up packing while they loaded most our boxes and furniture and they were quick to help with stuff lying around whenever they saw an opportunity. Jesus was stellar because he made sure we were aligned with our expectations and what was going to happen next. He was one of those kinds of people you just want to have good things happen to, you know what I mean? Wow! We were blown away by our recent experience with JC Express Movers. To begin, the scheduling process was quick and easy; indeed they readily accommodate us having to change our move date several times. This was in contrast to another outfit that requires us to book weeks ahead of time with little availability. On top of that, we found that JC had better pricing then other East bay movers. The actual day-of move was great. We had Gerardo and his crew, they were amazing. Due to my husband's job we have moved 6 times in the last 10 years. All in the Bay Area. I had truly given up on a 'good' moving experience. Let alone a "great" one. So I had very low expectations and a LOT of anxiety when I called JC Express. I was given a very straight forward quote, confirmed in email and scheduled with NO fuss. JC confirmed with me was that the movers would not be packing anything, just lifting and hauling our already packed stuff. I ended up having to push back our move date by a couple days, and they accommodated me cheerfully with that as well. Wary, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. The day of three men in nice clean clothing showed up, on time, with a large clean green truck. They said hello, asked to see the stuff, and gave me a contract that matched the quote. And then they simply started to do their job. I didn't have to micro-manage. I didn't have to tell them to wrap this, or be careful with that. The blankets were clean and new looking and the guys were very focused and professional. Do you know what I did while they moved my stuff? I napped, having stayed up late to the early hours of the morning packing and once I saw how efficient and competent they were I literally passed out on the floor (so they could take the furniture). My stuff was perfectly treated. Nothing damaged. And the guys were FAST. We have a TON of stuff (we filled a truck that is meant for a 4 bedroom) and they arrived at 9 and we were on the way to our new place at 2pm. After my nap they even asked me, with genuine concern, if I was okay. When we got to the new place they rolled out a red carpet, literally, to protect the carpeting (previous place had hard flooring so they didn't need to). They were all done by 6pm. And FRIENDLY, professional and polite the ENTIRE TIME. Not once did they balk at lifting something or moving this piece of that. Not once did they argue with us. Seriously the LEAST stressful and BEST move, start to finish I have ever had. And, when we inevitably move from here.... I will be calling them back. I spoke with a very nice man who was so informative on the way the company works and the cost for everything. I searched through many different companies and this was the cheapest quote I found from about 10 different ones. They also only charged a $65 flat fee for gas which I felt was very reasonable since I was moving about an hour away. Mario and Fabio were my movers and they were incredibly professional and efficient. They wrapped and moved everything without me having to lift a finger. The team worked well together and were able to move everything up to my second story apartment. They even went the extra mile and helped my mom with boxes she was moving upstairs!! The only thing that was a great experience when I sold my house was JC Express Movers. I am eternally grateful for Jessie for accommodating me at the last minute when the buyer was flip flopping with their loan extension that impacted my move out date. As well as time I needed to pack- I must have called Jessie three times to add additional things to have moved out because I was unable at short notice to either sell i.e washer/dryer or move special items myself i.e Washer/dryer. I was very reluctant to have my TVs moved but since I ran out of time, I had no choice but to include my 3 large screen TVs to the move. I am so pleased that I did because they were transported very carefully. In fact, nothing was damaged in my move! But what I really liked was the way JC Movers moved my Sleep Number mattress. Another company I used when I moved to Antioch, rolled my mattress and it messed up the internal lining and I had to call Sleep Number to come fix my mattress. But JC Movers covered my mattress, slid it in whole and my mattress worked perfectly after the movers set up my bed! The movers did came late; however it was because their truck broke down on their way to my house. I really appreciated their lead mover calling me to explain why they were running late. I also got a second call from Jessie confirming that a new truck had been dispatched to the stranded moving crew and they were on their way. When the movers came they were so gracious and apologetic. Overall, I was very impressed on the movers efficiency and stamina because the three men moved me out of my very large 4 bedroom house in 105 Antioch heat weather!! And, still did a pit stop to my storage unit in Richmond, before moving me to my final new home destination- Berkeley. JC Movers is the group my girlfriend and I used to get my stuff out of my old place a couple days ago. I didn't realize I'd be moving this weekend until about a week ago--I had an entire bedroom of stuff and things scattered about by a less-than-pleasant new roommate-turning-subletter who was to take over the entire place two months from now (and instead she decided to push me out). Perhaps her meds were off, perhaps she really didn't understand the contract she was signing. Either way, I had a new home waiting for me and I wanted to get out of dodge before she started to throw my things out. Enter, JC Movers. Edwin and Beto were our crew members this time. My girlfriend had previously used JC when she moved about 4 months ago. At the time she had just massive furniture and a few remaining small items before the big push (we actually did the majority of the moving in that scenario). This time around, however, we had the reverse scenario; I had to depend on JC to do the majority of the move. And I was nervous that with having done little to no preparation (like literally, pictures and frames were still hanging on the walls, dishes were out I had meant to clean but didn't), it would take days, if not weeks, to sort. But, Edwin and Beto not only cleared out the entire room, they took less than 4 hours to do it--and did it so damn professionally I'm still in shock. This same out of stuff in the past has taken me at least two weeks or more outside of my work hours to do pack and move alone. We were on the road to my new home within the 3 hour time bracket and it only took another single hour for them to unload everything. I cannot express enough how grateful I am for their services just for that alone. But, they were also gracious. It was obvious they weren't trying to gouge me; they stuck strong to their contracted billing amount (which is by hour, not by amount of items moved). They handled doing a load-up in their truck on an incredibly busy street in Oakland admirably. They were polite and nice, were willing to laugh with me about the nature of the move. From start to finish, the move was smooth and without a hitch. The crew arrived on time and were very friendly and patient with the rigors of the move.
