I am so glad I was able to hire this great moving company for my long distance move! On the day of the move, I was surprised to see JC show up with his crew (Edwin, Josue, Javier, Omar). I've never seen the owner of a moving company working alongside his employees. I was impressed! The entire crew was amazing on both move out and move in day (2 separate days because this is a long distance move). Every single mover was fast, efficient, and worked hard! A nerve wracking part of every move is getting the final bill and hoping that it's fair and correct. When there was a discrepancy on the final bill, JC was fair and patiently went over the charges. I appreciated his professionalism. Only minor negative about this whole experience is the trash left behind by the movers. I was picking up a lot of empty water bottles and cans around my house. We used JC Express Movers for a local move and we initially went with them because the reviews seemed positive and the pricing was more reasonable than other companies we found in the area. Maria was very helpful as she kept me updated on the process. JC and Jose were our movers and they did an exceptional job. They were careful when it came to moving the furniture so that our walls were left untouched. They even laid out a floor runners so our floors remained unscathed during the move. A WORD OF CAUTION, THOUGH: make sure you read the fine print when it comes to pricing because the way their policy is written can be a bit confusing. They have a 3-hour minimum charge (2.50 labor + .50 drive time), which is pretty straightforward and this is what we used to gauge our move on the day of. They arrived at point A at 4:30p and finished unloading at point B at 7:45p. The labor hours came out to 2.75 and the drive time remained constant at .50 for a total of 3.25 hours. However, they added another 30 minutes of drive time so our bill ended up being 3.75 total hours. I emailed their customer service and asked them to clarify this, but the representative that responded kept insisting that 30 minutes is added to the final cost. This would have been fine had the 4:30p to 7:45p not already included the drive time from point A to point B, but now they're charging us another 30 minutes even though the start and end times already accounted for that. This makes no logical sense at all. All in all, the quality of the actual move was great and I would recommend them to others, but I had to deduct a star for the confusion with their pricing. Just make sure you go over the pricing with them and even ask for a hypothetical quote for how much it would be if you started at "this time" and ended at "that time." This way, you aren't surprised like we were when they gave us the final bill. read more

They were wearing masks and being very careful. It was clear they are experienced movers with all types of furniture. The guys were very polite and moved quick. We did our job in 5.5 hours which is what we expected. I would have given 5 stars, but I didn't like that they tossed out the contents of our large tv console onto our living room floor which I realized at the end of the day upon going back the house. My hopes were to just keep the stuff in the console, wrap it like they did and move it. I had told them that I already took out anything that would be fragile and that it was just knit hats and dog clothing, but there it was all tossed out on the floor like garbage. It didn't make me feel good. But overall considering all the good they did I still give 3 stars. The cost was fair and job done on time. read more

We wanted to book 680 Movers because these guys were so fast and efficient last time we moved (you can read my review of them on Yelp), but they were booked, and we needed movers on short notice. JC Express Movers were available and their rates were reasonable. HOWEVER - Like the other lower rated reviews here - it seems we got stuck with slow movers. It took 6.5 hours to move 1 bedroom apartment in the SAME apartment complex. Literally just 1 building over. We also asked for packing service - I packed up everything beforehand except 70% of the kitchen and our closets (main closet and coat closet). They sent 3 guys, the biggest problem was a young kid named Jose, who was moving extremely slow in packing up our kitchen. He literally wrapped each can of food. Yes, cans of soup were individually packed in wrapping paper and placed in their expensive boxes. All of which you have to pay for (wrapping paper used, tape used, boxes used, and of course - their time). Jose milked the time and cost of materials, and was responsible for raking up our bill at least a few hundred dollars (whether intentionally or unintentionally I don't know). Once I realized what he was doing I told him it's unnecessary to wrap cans and to please speed things up. He was still moving slow so my husband asked the guy in charge to please tell the kid to speed things up because we saw him often taking breaks on his phone, slowly packing things up with headphones in his ears. While the kid was packing, the other 2 guys were moving the furniture into the truck, and they were decent, not fast. Nowhere near the speed and efficiency of 680 Movers. We had to supervise them all and help them a lot in order to keep things moving. They were courteous and on time, but their poor service ended up costing us more then 680 Movers last time we moved. We intended to tip them a few hundred, but they overcharged so much we had no cash left for a tip. *Also, they broke my desk and said their insurance doesn't cover particle board furniture. So I just had to let that one go, I have no intent to argue with their management over the phone. I didn't even take this into account when I was rating them. Would not recommend, go with 680 Movers if you can. read more

Omg they were amazing! I had a horrible experience with another moving company (where multiple furniture was damaged to the point we had to toss out and shady movers constantly demanding extra money) so when we booked for JC Express, we didn't want to get our hopes up. But they were awesome! Very careful with our furniture and assembled the bed frame nicely (unlike the other moving company we used). There was a freak accident where our TV screen cracked during the move but they went above and beyond to resolve it. The movers were also very easy to talk to and did everything we asked! We used them in 2018 and felt they were much better than most movers even though not perfect. I just used them again (October 2020) and definitely not as good. One team member was good but the lead guy was slow and I felt he intentionally dragged it out (including using my bathroom for a good 10-12 minutes), which caused problems with the loading dock at the destination. They disappeared for a long time to move the truck and then one was even later coming back because he was folding blankets in the truck! And their masks were below their noses a good portion of the time. I'll look around for my next move instead of automatically calling JC Express Movers. I'm updating my rating because of the excellent response I've received from the owner of JC Express Movers and the steps he has promised to take to remedy the situation. Things can go a little wrong with the best of companies. The true test is how responsive and willing they are to rectify the situation. So far, the owner has been extremely prompt and responsive. These guys are the real deal. Three movers and a big truck at the rate they are charging and the minimum hours - it's the best you can find! Jose and his crew crushed the move to our forever home. We had an insane amount of stuff. They were courteous, professional and delicate. Our move included multiple fridges and lots of stairs plus tight doorways. They didn't bat an eye and made all happen. Not to mention I sprung a friggin piano on them last minute that needed to be moved and even without the right equipment they nailed it - sliding a 100 year old piano into its new spot. Absolutely flawless job and a fantastic experience with JC Movers!!! I contacted JC movers via "request a quote" here on Yelp and within seconds...no joke I received an email back from JC the owner. As a business owner myself I respond back fast to all my customers, so to see this it was refreshing. JC came out the next day ( I emailed him at 10 pm the following day) to give us an accurate quote as well as how many trucks we needed. He worked with us getting us the best price for our budget and was so friendly and knowledgeable! We had 3 other moving companies before JC and all were very expensive not to mention they didn't seem like someone I would trust to move my Great Grandma's fine china let alone my entire house. The movers arrived the following week to move us from our 2,600 sq ft house to our 3,800 sq ft house. Julio, Sarah, Hector, Gustavo, Antonio were the best movers hands down we have ever had, and that's even an understatement. We have moved over 4 times within the last couple years, with each move getting bigger and bigger and let me tell you this move went down smoother than cream cheese on a bagel. They wrapped every door and corner of rooms with blankets. Laid down red carpet runners through the whole house (see pictures.) They took care of all our furniture as if they were packing up their own house. Not ONE THING got broken, scratched, cracked, dented... nothing! As many movers we have had this has never happened. The entire crew took care of stuff so well. Packed the entire house inside and out within less than 5 hours. They work together as great team to make sure your stuff gets packed the right way. Every single person was so sweet and will be the ONLY movers I will ever use. Moving sucks, it takes forever and is annoying but to find a company that made a move such a flawless experience, was such a blessing to find them. If you can request Julio, Sarah, Hector, Gustavo, Antonio team... do it, you can thank me later. We bought the team lunch and kept them hydrated with water and juice both days we were moving and tipped because that's just how we do things. I reserved a date and was later told 4 days prior to our move-in date that the "accidentally confirmed your move..." Essentially, their right hand wasn't in communication with the left, even after three calls with the same person with this business. It left us with having to find another mover with only 3.5 days remaining before our move in date. This in no way reflects on the quality of the company's packing and moving itself. However, their scheduling ability, or lack of it, even after reserving a confirmed date with us which was then pulled and given to another potential customer, was not honored. This review is a bit delayed but I wanted to take the time, now that I am well recovered from the intensity of the move, to highly applaud this excellent moving company. Julio, Antonio, and Rodrigo were amazing. One of Julio's favorite sayings is "piece of cake." And they certainly made it seem like it was, even when they were doing various feats of hauling furniture up to the second floor of my loft, which has a very awkward and somewhat narrow spiral staircase. It was an exhausting and stressful move for me, but even my overworked psyche was appeased by this lovely, hard-working, and upbeat team. I have many antiques, including glass fronted display cases and bookcases. Everything was protected with cardboard, then fabric, and finally shrink wrap. I simply had zero worries about any damage occurring to my property. Juan Carlos himself answered the phone and was so detail oriented and thorough. I tend to be over controlled in these situations but every time I contacted him for updates and confirmations, he was always reassuring and supportive. My husband and I used these movers on July 28th. One of the workers kept wearing his mask below his nose. He seemed to have a cold but claimed it was allergies. We asked if we could supply him with a better fitting mask, he refused. I then got really sick the following week and tested positive for COVID. The movers gave me COVID-19. *edit update:* This review was made under my maiden name, as I had not changed it to my married name yet at the time of this review. The company's initial response to this review was unprofessional. We discussed the issue in person with one of their representatives who came to our home. The owner was quick to respond to my inquiry, was able to schedule me into the calendar and sent me the paperwork all within 30 minutes. The day of the move the 3 men who assisted with the move were polite, friendly and FAST. They quickly and professionally loaded up my 2BR condo furniture in the truck and then drove to my new place. JC Movers is the only moving company I would go with from here on out. First of all they were great at communicating any earlier openings and delays in their schedules, the person before us had taken longer than expected so we got a phone call promptly letting us know. It was so nice having a clear line of communication our movers so we can plan out our day accordingly. I was only moving one bedroom worth of stuff, but had brand new, very heavy, very expensive, solid wood furniture that needed to be brought down a windy stair with some pretty sharp corners. I was extremely nervous about how they could possibly get such large items down but fears were very quickly calmed when they arrived. They did a FANTASTIC job getting my furniture down and they did it with sort of care you would want your items treated. Also having white carpet we were really nervous about having movers come in and out, JC assured that it would be no problem a literally rolled out the red carpet for before ever even touching an item. Also they were QUICK. The entire team JC + 2 movers were prompt to get the items loaded, also considering the massive truck that showed up they got to my new address just a few minutes behind us. While other movers lollygag to get the most $$ they can out of you JC made it a point to stay on schedule and keep the price down for me.(Grand total came to just over $230) It was this and so many other small touches that just made the difference for me. It is so refreshing to encounter a business that really delivers! We are extremely pleased with the entire process from first contact by phone to set up a date, to the prompt reply and detailed breakdown of the cost. The two man crew of Edwin and Fernando were a delight to work with. we had initially labeled each box with room stickers (I don't recommend cheap ones from Amazon, they fall off) and some sticker labels were gone. I also wrote notes on top of each box, so I could quickly direct each box that lost its label. Fortunately most still had labels. They carefully protected my furniture and my flooring in both houses. it was a short move of about 100 miles. The team arrived promptly at 8 and by 3 I was sitting in my kitchen staring at a labyrinth of boxes. The only thing that could have made this move easier would have been to not move!
