Well, to explain my review here, I traded in my Honda HRV that belonged to my wife for a same year Mazda 2018 M3. After a week's purchase, notice that the radio had some kind of problem with the transmitting radial sound that kept getting faded as you were turning the wheel or stopping. I took it to service, and they couldn't figure out exactly what was costing us, so I had to make a second appointment. My advisor Cindy and service was very kind, very professional, but I don't hold these issues against her. On the second appointment, they did figure out that there was a setting that was off on the radio, and it was finally fixed. Car shopping is stressful. I swear I won't do it again for another 10 years but I will say Jeff haas made it survivable. Cecil was great as a salesperson. There were no guilt trips or pushiness, just facts and options which was nice. It got a little sticky when it came to meeting with the lender. He was very passionate about the maintenance plan he wanted me to buy and wasn't hearing my 'no thanks' very well but I'm sure that's what makes him good at his job. I will say it took about twice as long as I thought it would. I am a repeat customer. in the market for an used car went to this dealership that had a CX5 listed for $18.8K, after 7 hours of telling us that they were working the paperwork and keeping us waiting for a discount they led us to believe we were getting, they said the car cost was the listed plus a "recon" package of around $2.4k so basically lied the whole time about the true cost of the car to then distract us with the monthly payments. E and C wasted our entire day and the used car manager basically told me they add the extra cost and is how they sell cars whether i like it or not and it was fine if i did not buy te car after i discovered the extra charges. I wasn't looking for a new car but after I took a test drive in a 2020 Mazda CX-5 with turbo engine I was in love. Anthony W. was super patient with me and tried to get me into something similar as the turbo engine was WAY out of my price range. But after driving the 2019 non-turbo engine for 24 hours I was not happy. So I talked to Anthony and made some adjustments. Car dealerships have a bad rap of trying to screw you over or getting one past you. I experienced this just recently at this dealership. When I went and test drove the Mazda CX-9, I was asking the sales guy (Chris) if there were any dealer markups or anything the dealer was doing because of low inventory. The answer was a resounding "No." We are not doing anything at this point, even with the low inventory. The bad news is that you might have to wait to get the vehicle you want. Today, I found out that they have the vehicle in-transit, so I reached out again to them. If the vehicle is available, I would buy at MSRP. I'll send in a deposit to hold. So, I get an e-mail with the drive out price and it was roughly $2,000 higher than what I was expecting. I asked for a breakdown so I can see what's happening. The dealership is adding on a $1,600 protection package. The car is not even in their hands yet, so they don't have to add it. However, I was told that this was mandatory. Long story short, they are adding a markup, but disguising it as a mandatory add on. I told them they were dishonest. Another dealership at least told me they were adding $500 worth of add-ons and $500 dealer markup. I have more respect for them for being honest. read more

I have mixed feelings about this dealership. I purchased a car here on July 2nd, and the experience was ok. My salesman, Keith, was pleasant and accommodating. Only positive things to say about him. However, the service we received on the car itself was pretty bad. We left with 1/4 of a tank of gas. The night we got home with the car, we tried to use the spare key fob and discovered it was dead. About a week later (200 or so miles of driving for me) the car indicated I need an oil change already. There also appears to be a slow leak in one of the tires. I have a car that is less than a month old and already needs to be serviced. Pretty disappointing. It seems like they cleaned the car to make it look nice, but didn't do anything that actually matters. read more

I'm so disappointed in this business. I booked a service appointment several weeks in advance then received a call just days before my appointment that they'd decided to close on that Saturday to move to a new location. I asked if they were offering free or discounted services to the people they were inconveniencing, but they said no and seemed surprised that I'd asked. They'd called to reschedule my appointment because they were between a couple moving dates and had just made the decision, and they didn't seem to understand that it's not always easy for their customers to simply move their appointment to a different day. The representative who called offered me a Monday appointment, which was strange to me because I'm sure many of the customers who book on a Saturday don't have the flexibility to do so on a weekday. This appointment was out of the way, so my fiancé and I had planned our whole day around it, and we had to scramble to make other arrangements. We weren't given any notice at the time of booking that they were considering closing on that day. Luckily, we were able to find a last-minute appointment at Parkway Family Mazda, which went very smoothly. I explained on the phone that it was important for me to keep this appointment because I needed my state inspection done before my registration sticker expired in a couple weeks--unfortunately, they still canceled and never apologized for the inconvenience. He explained that the dealership no longer sells to out of state customers because they were having problems with the third party entity that assists with registering out of state vehicles. He further explained that customers were giving bad reviews because of their experience with the same above company. Well, here's another bad review. Juan cancelled my appointment and when I tried to speak with someone over the sales dept., no one picked up. According to a comment from Todd Crabtree, the dealership is experiencing a car shortage. At this point, all dealerships are. I was informed by another dealership that Louisiana is a no repo state which why this dealership doesn't sell to Louisiana residents. This dealership had a good selection of vehicles which I think is what draws most customers to the lot. However, my salesman Brandt J was condescending or racist--or both? I came in looking for anything that would work within my budget and he took offense to my credit score rather quickly. While I understand I'm not the customer which is cashing out the dealership in one sale, I'm a customer nonetheless. The salesman asked whether I'd be able to afford the 2k down payment I had offered and the rest of the negotiation was absolutely insufferable from there. First of all, fair credit does not mean I'm broke and secondly, that selling tactic is outdated. I went outside to make a call and decompress from the stress of car shopping and Brandt proceeded to leave the lot in the same car we were touring in. It was very weird and broke behavior. I am extremely disappointed in Jeff Haas Mazda. My wife scheduled a maintenance appointment online earlier this week for her suv and requested a loaner vehicle. This morning, at 7am, I drop off the vehicle and request the loaner. I'm told, "we don't give loaners for maintenance." 1. A service light was on so that's why we scheduled the "maintenance." 2. I have had "maintenance " done on my two other Mazda's (purchased at Jeff Haas) and been able to obtain a loaner. 3. If you are not going to provide a loaner, it would be good customer service to inform them before they are in the service center in need of the loaner. As someone that has purchased multiple cars from this dealership, I expected reasonable customer service. If I would have been informed that I could not get a loaner, I would have rescheduled and scheduled a time when there was a ride available or I could wait. Overall good experience buying a car here. The sales team is very knowledgeable. The waiting room is pretty nice with drinks and snacks for the waiting guests. When we walked in the place was very busy but once we were acknowledged, the service was good. There are many different Mazda options in different trims, colors, types, etc. also the prices seem quite reasonable with no hidden costs that you may see from other dealers. Secondly, we get our car serviced here and have had a good experience every time. Up until this past Saturday, I thought the customer service was great. That changed when all the services were done on my vehicle and I hopped in and was ready to exit the lot when I noticed a vertical crack on my windshield that wasn't there when I first arrived for my planned maintenance. I immediately returned to ask what happened and was shocked on what I heard. Apparently there was a already a crack on my windshield (which I never seen or knew) and the car wash made it worse. The windshield guy said that he did see the crack before it spread. I then asked why didn't anyone tell me about it. His response was " I was too busy". I was obviously pissed because JHM made it worse. I wasn't even offered for a fix for free or a reduced price. I had to leave because I had plans that I was already late for, otherwise I would have asked to speak with a manager. This isn't acceptable. read more

I bought a brand new cx-9 in March 2023 that I loved; however, since about April 2023 I started having issues with the car battery dying after sitting for 48 hours. I've brought my car in at least 4 times to attempt to address the issue over the last 12 months. In the beginning I was told it was some electronic recall issue that they corrected and then in February 2024, some piece of equipment associated with the ignition was replaced but the issue kept happening so I brought my car back in about 10 days ago. I was called yesterday to come pick up my car that 'they need the loaner back'. I was basically told that there was nothing wrong with my car and they did all they could. I asked Leo, the service adviser, a simple question of what would you recommend I do next? Since obviously the issue has not been fixed in 12 months and the car continues to be a problem. He was unable to even look me in the eye when speaking to me. He wasn't able to provide me any advice or feedback for next steps. All he said was that they did what they could and couldn't find anything wrong with my car. He acted like I was asking some far fetched question and was unable to even act apologetic or sympathetic to my situation. I've never dealt with such infuriating customer service before in my life and now I'm s**t outta luck with an almost $50k car that's unreliable. Don't buy a Mazda and if you have one already, don't take it to their service department if you want them to actually provide customer service. read more

All that they are doing is an oil change and balancing my tires, the tires that they put on unbalanced. Of course the person in charge of my car has left for lunch and the other service guy said he was too busy to check on my car. Ridiculous, rude, and shows that customers do not matter to Jeff Haas! The last time I was here to get tires, they ruined my rims which resulted in them keeping my car for 2 weeks to fix them. Then I noticed they scratched or gashed my steering wheel. So, that was fixed along with black spray paint sprayed all over the inside of my car. They did not bother removing the paint either. So that was nice. I bought a new car here in 2014 and have continued to use them for servicing that vehicle. There's some good and some just OK. Sales (3 stars): I contacted Jeff Haas Mazda on the phone and told the sales guy what my price range was and he said that should be doable. I came in and ended up working with a different sales person. He helped getting the vehicle and organizing my test drive. Then it came time to talk numbers. Started the "wearing out" process, going back and forth with the sales manager. I'd mentioned the guy on the phone said my price range was no problem, and he acted like he'd never heard of it. I also mentioned I'd used online sites like KBB to determine the general value of the vehicle and my trade-in, he acted like he'd never heard of them. Wow, really? Kelly Blue Book has only been around for a hundred years. As with most dealerships, you can get a decent deal but you really have to stand your ground. He finally got into the price range but only after taking away the 0% interest promotion. Whatever, I wasn't worried about that because I could refinance it with my own bank. I should have lobbied harder for more value on my trade-in because it was a fully loaded model with decent mileage and in good shape, but I guess they'd successfully worn me down enough and I wanted to get out, LOL. That's my fault. So ultimately, three stars for sales because they had opportunities to distinguish themselves from the typical car sales department and didn't. I also asked my sales person about several things related to maintaining the vehicle because when I can, I like to be a do-it-myself guy. With regards to things like keeping the entertainment system and GPS software updated, he just told me, "Oh, just contact me and I'll take care of it." Within three months he was no longer working at the dealership. Thanks, jackass. As far as the physical dealership itself, it's fine. It's clean and they have lots of inventory. It doesn't look big at first glance, but they have overflow lots nearby where they can pull in inventory not on the immediate lot. Finance (5 stars): I worked with Danyel in finance and she was great. Absolutely a fantastic person. She was professional, didn't hard sell me anything, and was straightforward. She didn't pull any of the tricks other finance reps will (things like burying extras into the contract without telling you, hoping you'll just accept it) and she didn't hard sell me on extended warranties. I hope she's still there. I would be willing to buy another car at this dealership just to avoid the hassles of dealing with other crappy finance people. She got me a decent interest rate too, so I ended up not refinancing the car. The only knock on the finance experience was the loan was from some credit union that later seemed to go through some ownership changes and the customer service went downhill. But that part isn't the dealership's fault. Service (5 stars): I haven't had any major problems with service. I can set up appointments online or by phone. The service reps are nice, and the waiting area has wifi, coffee, and snacks. If you need a ride to work or home and it's within range, they'll shuttle you there and pick you up when your vehicle is ready. One time for one of the major service milestones I'd signed up for an expensive service option on the website. When I got to the dealership the service rep told me, "The service package you ordered is for traditional transmissions. Your CX-5's Skyactive transmission doesn't need that," and I ended up paying a lot less for that visit. I appreciated that, because I've dealt with some shops in the past that were borderline incompetent and would have been happy to say nothing and take the money. Is the service department more expensive than going to a third-party mechanic? Probably; that's true for most dealerships. But when my vehicle is still under factory warranty I like the dealership to maintain it. Overall this dealership has been good for me. I may try again in the future and see if the sales department has improved. I'll update this review if things change. read more

By the way Jeff Haas I WAS ABLE to buy a 2017 CX-9 Metallic GRAY signature for THOUSANDS LESS than from you, although I was told by your sales manager no one would be able to give us a better price in the Gulf Coat region. Well guess what Russell and Smith our numbered you by thousands. They were willing to work with us on the numbers because they did not want to loose us as a customer over a few bucks.... Nearly four years after my initial bad experience, I decided to give Jeff Haas another try. It is the closest Mazda dealer to me. As a point of reference, after the bad experience at Jeff Haas in 2013, I bought a CX5 GT at Greenway (formerly Deeter), and then leased another CX5 GT at Russell Smith two years later. I decided to give Jeff Haas another try given that "Larry" was not on their website. So I assume that he's gone. I arrived at Jeff Haas last Saturday interested on a 2016 CX9 listed in their website at a discounted price. Mike Harris was the sales guy and he was really nice. Not very knowledgeable, but he was nice. He told me that the CX9 I was interested in was no longer available (Bait and switch anyone? It is still on their website as of Wednesday). Fine, I'll look at others. We went out for a test drive and CX9 drove very nice. We came back to the dealer and went inside to talk numbers. I then had to leave because my wife beckoned. I told Mike the numbers I was hoping for and he told me that he'd get back with me by the end of the day Saturday, or by Monday at the latest. I contacted him on Monday and received no response. I contacted him on Tuesday and got no response. Nothing from him on Wednesday either. Similar to four years ago, business must be real good at Jeff Haas that Mike will not contact me. It's these stupid games that make car shopping such a bad experience most of the time. Needless to say, I'll be spending the $41,000 elsewhere. Highly NOT recommended. read more
