Thank you, Jelly Cafe, for great customer service! The company I work for, The Receptionist, had a work event today, where all the companies in our building participated in providing different types of food. We ordered 4 dozen donut bites for the event. I called, the day before to give them a head's up, which was gratefully appreciated. I called, the day of the event, after ordering through Door Dash. The person who answered the phone was aware of the order, and my previous call, and thanked me for calling both times. She was not the person I had previously talked to, so this was great that they have good internal communication. The order was delivered by Door Dash, perfectly, and the donut bites were perfect! We ordered 4 dozen bites, 2 dozen regular and 2 dozen gluten free. The event started at 1pm, and ALL the donut bites were gone by 1:30pm. People were excited that we had both options, and that they were from Jelly Cafe. People who hadn't heard of Jelly, were excited to try them, and they were loved and consumed by all. I have to say that this place really made our morning. A freezing cold snowy morning. My friend mentioned Snooze but I had heard of Jelly and my mind was set. After we waited about 20 minutes to sit our group of four, we happily checked out the sweet collection of old school cereal boxes on the walls. This place is not really great for big groups in my opinion. We went after they had been open for a month so of course it's going to be really busy and they want to seat people ASAP but a booth for four should not have two people, period. On to the delicious breakfast...we order a half order of their homemade donuts. They came out piping hot as an appetizer and we devoured them. I ordered the Basic Breakfast because that's all I ever order, I'm super boring but my breakfast had a twist and wasn't boring at all. My man got the bacon pancakes (we decided later that we'd love to see sausage pancakes instead..it just sounds better!) Our two friends got benedict breakfasts and they were quite happy. We all left content. Prices are really great. It ended up being about $10/person. Definitely a must try! read more

This place is fan-tas-tic! The decor is retro, but clean and inviting. I had the (new to the menu) BBQ pulled pork, which was amazing. The spice to it was totally unique, tamarind. The side was pickled onions...delicious, and go with the BBQ sauce perfectly, tangy, spicy, but not hot. My boyfriend go the big, hot Jelly mama something platter, which was like Thanksgiving on a platter - again, very tasty, tender turkey, with good gravy, laid out beautifully. I will definitely be going back again! The waitress was friendly and attentive. When I thought my ice tea was weak, she made a fresh, stronger batch, and offerred me something else in the meantime. Yum! That is all... Just kidding. This place just started serving Gluten Free Donut bites! BAM! Delicious. Maple Bacon? Ok, it's official, Jelly is my new favorite breakfast place. I even brought some donut bites home in a little to-go box. It is taking all the power of my being to not go in the kitchen and scarf them all down! We did wait an hour to get a spot at the counter, but, hey, it is a long wait because it is awesome. I had the farmer scramble with chicken sausage. If you have read any of my other reviews you know I have an obsession with goat cheese. And there was a big ol' dollop of it on my scramble. What I could do without? Sour cream on my potatoes. I wanna lather my potatoes in ketchup and hot sauce, those do not mix well with sour cream. So, I will ask them to hold that next time. Reasonably priced Bloody Mary. It isn't the cheapest, but it isn't the most expensive brunch I have ever had for such delicious food. Also our server/bartender was probably the nicest person in Cap Hill-and she was seriously good at her job. It is hip inside, but not too hip. Like joyfully hip, with happy, friendly people all around. O.k., maybe that is the Bloody talking, but fer real, it is a great ambience, too. First of all, I am deaf and I don't like eating out because people act like it is a huge hassle to talk to me which sucks.... BUT MY WAITRESS WAS SO F-ING FRIENDLY! IT WAS AWESOME! Totally made my day!!!! Unfortunately this visit was back in March, so I can't remember her name :( I brought my mom who was visiting me, it was our first time here and we had such a great experience and we loved the food. The super friendly and courteous waitress wasn't afraid to talk to me and she made sure to face me so I could read her lips. She even small-talked me which is something a lot of people just don't do with me (people usually tell me "never mind" and walk away when I say I'm deaf.... uh, cool), even though it was crazy busy! She always checked on us and made sure we were satisfied. My mother ordered the Red Flannel Hash and I had the Sweet Potato Hash. Both were DELICIOUS, I had a taste of my mom's breakfast and it was so good. I enjoyed my experience so much at Jelly Cafe that when I was in Denver again a couple months later picking up my boyfriend from DIA, we made a stop here so I could use the coupon for free donuts that the very friendly waitress gave me. This time we had a waiter and he seemed a little nervous to be talking to me due to my deafness (I guess it's understandable, most people are afraid of the unfamiliar... shit, I've seen color literally drain from peoples faces when I tell them I'm deaf) but he seemed to get more comfortable every time he came back to our table. He really tried, however my first experience was way better. We loved our food and the donuts were really tasty! I definitely will stop by again next time I'm in Denver! read more

I think I need to give Jelly another try some time, my first impression was just ok. We came in a group of 4 and got seated right away, I was impressed since I hear the wait is usually long, I came on a weekday (but Snooze has a wait any day of the week). Of the 4 of us, 2 of us ordered from the Hash selections, 1 person ordered Sliders and 1 person ordered Eggs Benedict. The Eggs Benedict was the best, Sliders and Hashes were good. I definitely was not blown away though. We ordered some donuts at the end which was good, but I really expected so much more from other reviews. The donuts were not spectacular by any means. An order is 6 little donuts and it is NOT CHEAP! I thought they were way over priced for what you get. The donuts tasted a little dry to me, I guess it's good they come with filling. Anyways... I love finding fun new places because of Yelp !! I am typically not a "eat at home breakfast" person, but give me an excuse to eat out and I'm all in ! A friend and I ventured over to Jelly on a weekday around 10am and had about a 10 minute wait. The place has a great trendy & hip vibe. The waitstaff were friendly and very helpful. Went there on 7/4, and it's busy. Neither my friend nor I had been to this place before but figured we'd give it a try. The wait is 30-40 min, oh this better be worth it... and worth it it was (why am I talking this way?!). While we wait, we started on a bottomless mimosa. Drinking usually make long waits a lot more bearable. Once we got seated, we were quickly greeted by our waitress, who was very smart to bring us a refill jar of mimosa while to stopped by. We ordered our food and they come out fairly quickly. My gf had the haco biscuit and I had the special of the day, pork belly benedict. They were both awesome. We also ordered a half order of their donut bites, one flavor each. Raspberry was the least of our favorite, I like the creme anglaise the most. Here's why I took one star off. There were a few empty tables sitting for a little bit while there's quite a people waiting. I asked why that is and the host said it's because it's too busy. I understand, and maybe they didn't anticipate the crowd for a 7/4 afternoon, but it's still a little aggravating to be waiting for a table while seeing 3 empty tables left empty for about 15-30 min. The service here is great. But the food is nothing to come back for, and certainly not worth waiting for. I had the pancakes and the rustic potatoes. The pancakes were yummy but thin. They weren't thick and fluffy (perhaps they make a whole bunch in the kitchen and just stack them, flattening them out). The "rustic" potatoes were terribly disappointing. They were boiled potatoes that were hardly pan-browned, so basically it was boiled potatoes. I told the waiter, and he came back with a new plate of deep fried potatoes. I appreciated the effort, but if I wanted fries, I would have ordered fries. Maybe this place is all about the donuts. But I didn't try them. read more

So good! Went for the first time recently and got the Molly Hot Brown (I believe that's the name) as well as a few of the donut holes. I was pleasantly surprised at how good all of the food was at this neighborhood spot. The service was both nice and fast, and the restaurant was a very cute environment to be in. For a town that claims to like breakfast, I have a hard time finding places I like but this one absolutely goes on the list. It's in cap hill and on Saturday morning we only waited 15 mins (making it about an hour shorter than Lucille's or Snooze). AND they make it easy to order a drink while you wait. We had a small order of the donut holes, yummy yummy. But more importantly we split the corn flakes french toast; I'm not a huge french toast fan but I loved every last bite. So good. We also had a scramble with goat cheese, eggs done right make me happy. Finally! A place that lives up to the hype. read more

God Denver and its breakfast joints I could move here just for them. Jelly was superb! 1 star removed for one small thing. The bar should never be a part of the waiting list for a table. It is walk up and should be for walk-in singles or duces who don't want table service but on to the food. Fresh/tasty breakfast service a bit slow but that is cause they were jammed. Waited over 1 hr and they don't take reservations. Worth the wait yes but highly suggest you only go there right when the doors open! read more

Been here several times for brunch on the weekend and it is always amazing food. Really feels handcrafted and loving made. Service is usually great. When it get busy, the wait line can be a bit chaotic so make sure you don't wander too far or outside much or you might get skipped. Getting less doughnuts or less variety gets you more of the finger licking sauces :) Their jelly is hands down some of the best I've ever had. read more

Breakfast burrito! *Homer Simpson drool* Probably known for their sweet treats I went for a spicy option and didn't retreat it for a second. The hour long wait on this Labor Day weekend started to rain on my parade a bit until the blissful rays of burrito heaven came to sight. The burrito is filled with eggs potatoes pico de gallo and chorizo all wrapped up in a flour tortilla. It's more than enough to conquer the hunger rumbling in the stomach. The servers are friendly and helpful answering questions and keeping your beverage topped off. The hostess attempted to seat us at the bar after requesting a table but hey it gets busy and she tried to seat us faster. The StarWars themed bathroom was also a bonus. My boyfriend and I both ordered the french toast for breakfast which was delicious and we ordered a couple doughnuts to share, because we knew we couldn't leave without trying what their claim to fame was. Out of the 6 donuts we tried, I only liked 1, 2 were stale, and the other 3 were nothing special. So if you're coming here for the donuts I would say skip, but if you want a good breakfast with a cool ambiance come here. My favorite part was all of the vintage cereal boxes along the walls. AS is said in other reviews there always seems to be a wait at this place especially breakfast. Now the food is good almost excellent I ended up getting the ricotta pancakes, (2 orders= there is a reason why I ordered so much food in which you will read about in a moment), mini donuts and a bluemosa. But here is how excellent: 20 minute wait = very excellent 40 minute wait = still pretty excellent 1 hours wait when quoted 40 min = excellent 1 hours and 20 minute when quoted 40 min = ahh I'm so hungry an McDonald's egg McCrappy Muffin would be excellent right now. So an 1 hour and 30 minutes later the food was excellent but truth be told I was so hungry at this point anything that was put in front of me could have been excellent. I never knew I needed to bring a CLIF bar with me when going out to eat. I suggest you do especially if you are planning on going here on a weekend anywhere near the wee morning hours. Good points were the Cuban sandwich and the cute old boxes of cereal that are on the wall. Loved the gluten free options here. My (non-gf) boyfriend got the burrito with several different kinds of meat and it was massive. We spent about $50 here for breakfast so, be aware that it can be pricey. The decor was very unique and fun. One of the best breakfast restaurants in Denver. The servers, owners, and food are great! It is a fun place to catch up with friends over fresh food and delicious specialty drinks. 5 stars is a lot, yes. And in a town full of breakfast and brunch spots, why Jelly? The handmade donuts, that's why. They have 8 kinds of delicious, still warm donuts that you have to try all flavors of. (You don't HAVE to...but cmon!) I like their Corn Flake french toast, and they have some good hashes and pancakes here. I love this place! I eat here at LEAST once a week when I have days or mornings off work. I love the food and service! I always get something new and have not been disappointed. I LOVE that there is a new homemade jelly everyday and it has always been yum! Many of the staff are learning my name because of how I often I come in and my lattes are always perfect. I sit at the bar when I come in, it's just so much easier and timely. Overall, the environment and food is perfect for CapHill. I don't know what happened on the days that some of these people went in, but I personally haven't had an issue like they have. Went to Jelly for the first time today after hearing rave reviews from friends. First, I agree with many other reviews- This place is for the painfully hip. Fortunately, even the people who think they fall into that category actually don't, so my group fit right in. The service was okay. Don't get me wrong, the server was very friendly, but there were a number of errors with our order- Forgotten drinks, insufficient cream, no biscuit. However, the food really made up for it. We got the doughnut bites with creme en glaze, which were delightful- we had a full order but a half order would ahve been perfect to just whet our appetite along with the coffee. I liked the biscuits, they were actually very good though I have had better. The corned beef hash was a huge protion and very good with eggs over easy. The potatoes were well cooked and I liked the fact that they were only slightly seasoned- I prefered to add my own salt because so many places just drench your food in it. The North scramble with salmon was also very good, again, lightly seasoned which was fine with me. It paired very well with the biscuit, making am impromptu egg, chive, salmon and biscuit sandwhich. It was incredibly busy (understandable for a sunny Sunday afternoon) but you're able to check into the waiting list on yelp, so by the time we got there we only had to wait 15ish minutes. My two friends and I waited for 50 minutes to be seated. Thats fine, but when we got seated it took forever for our waiter to come over. Once he finally came over he took our drink orders. It took another 15 minutes to get our drink orders. Then after 20 more minutes we finally got to order. I ordered the eggs benedict. I'm a bit of a Benedict snob, and if I'm waiting for almost an hour to eat it better be pretty amazing. It wasnt. The presentation was sub-par two pieces of bread w a little hollandaise (i asked for extra), and the eggs were overdone. the yolks did not break. it was literally like i had a hard boiled egg on a piece of bread. the potatoes were undercooked under seasoned and bland. piled poorly on the plate in a sloppy manner. the drinks werent great either. the bellini tasted like a mimosa. No I will not be returning to Jelly. There are plenty of other breakfast places that do it right. read more
