I agreed to do the only garbage disposal installation for $160 and set an appointment . He show up one hour early without communication. He told us need to do the outlet box and it will be additional $100 (decided to raise another $10) , my husband said he will do the outlet box himself, Jaime was ok to sell us electrical plastic box just extra $1-$2. When he finishes the job he said is $170, I asked why? He said because I brought you the electrical box that's additional $10. I told him I don't need the box you can take it back (since he want to up charge so much) , he got mad and say don't ever call him in the future for any service. We never wanted him to do the outlet box since the beginning, and he got mad because we didn't want to pay him $10 for this $0.50 electrical box he brought us. Poor communication and not professional at all.

As always, Proper Hour Home Services were very easy to work with and did a fantastic job at a great price! Our new fridge was too tall for our cabinet space, so needed to cut about 1 1/4 inches from top lip. We also had a long copper tubing run connecting filtered water to our old fridge ice maker. Since Lowe's installation doesn't work with copper tubing and requires a valve to hook up the ice maker line, we needed the copper tubing cut and a valve added to the new end. Ihor from PHHS came and did an excellent job on both tasks! He was able to detach the cabinet lip and cut it outside, so we never heard the loud sawing we expected :-). After installing the cut lip, it measured just right with a little room to space. He cut the copper tubing very cleanly after turning off the water main and installed and tested the valve he bought at Home Depot. Ihor also put down plastic before the work and did a great cleanup job. Our new fridge fit perfectly in the cabinet space and Lowe's installers had a very simple, smooth hookup of the ice maker line to the new valve with their ice maker line installation kit we bought with the fridge. On the first visit, the technician, Mohammed, didn't even inspect the system. He simply told us that older units are noisy and that our only options were to live with it or replace the entire system. Because the problem continued, our home warranty company scheduled a second visit. I specifically requested a different technician, but they sent the same person back. I tried calling their supervisor to come out or send someone else but they kept dodging my call. When I answered the door and explained the issue was still happening, he just shrugged his shoulders. I had to insist that he actually go into the attic and inspect the unit this time. After a short time, he came back down and said he had "tried everything" but never explained what he checked or what the actual problem was. Again, I was told the only options were to replace the system or live with the noise. I also never received any written work order explaining the diagnosis or repairs that were supposedly attempted. Not feeling confident, I hired another HVAC company for a second opinion. Within minutes, they diagnosed the real problem as a failing blower motor, explained everything clearly, and gave me the option to replace the motor instead of the entire HVAC system. The repair was completed that same week, and the vibration was completely resolved. I understand a 21-year-old system won't last forever, but every homeowner deserves a thorough inspection, a clear explanation of the issue, and repair options when they're available. Unfortunately, that wasn't the experience I had with Same Day Air.

They were able to make a normally very stressful process almost stress-free, so much so that all I had to do was say "yes or no" when it came to key decisions. The Construction & More team took lead in the painful parts of dealing with permitting, PG&E, and subcontractors. They also got us in contact with their preferred vendors to help us with discounts on appliances, finishes and other materials we needed to purchase out of pocket. Overall, I found the Construction & More team extremely professional, transparent, organized, communicative and punctual when it came to the end-to-end process. They truly helped guide us through the process so we didn't have any surprises and helped us navigate any hiccups that came up. Normally, construction companies get a bad rap of being dishonest and trying to add in hidden fees and such, but Construction & More is a truly forthcoming and hardworking group of contractors who have your best interest at heart when it comes to your project no matter how big or small. For the process itself, we began with a consultation at our home to walk through the work we wanted the Construction & More team to do. For us, it was a full renovation which included removing a kitchen wall to create an open concept kitchen & living room, adding a mud room, expanding the master bedroom, moving the front and garage doors, as well as moving the ceilings to create a more open space. After the consultation was completed, we met with Avi & Joseph at their office to discuss an estimate and timeline for the work we needed done about (6-months time, pending no delays). Avi & Joseph respected our budget and were upfront and honest of how to stay within the budget and what were non-negotiables that we needed to get done. They really helped us understand what work was critical and what were nice to have to make our living space better. Once we agreed on the work, they promptly sent over a contract for signature, created a whatsapp group for real time communication, and next steps. Overall this initial process took about a week after negotiations and contract reviews. Once construction began, the team coordinated all the work. They made sure that all moving parts were well executed while setting a realistic timeline for the work to be done. All the subcontractors and tradesmen were effectively scheduled, where there wasn't a single day where there was no work being done. I felt that the team ensured that the construction was moving swiftly and the crew was respectful of our space. The crew made sure that our home was properly locked up and cleaned up after each day's work. Additionally, all the detailed finishing work was measured and completed with precision, where all the tiles placed were measured with a laser. As a bonus, the crew was also super respectful to our neighbors which is an extra plus! If you're considering a renovation of any size, but especially a full home renovation, I could not rave more about Construction & More. I had Carlos and his team assemble our European style kitchen cabinets. They were made of finished…read morewood and lacquer cabinets. We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

This company Is slow as molasses and we will never use them again if we can help it. (We had to go with this company because of the Samsung warranty.) It took JEM from August 7 to August 31 to get our refrigerator working; that's 3 1/2 weeks without a fridge! The actually engineer that came out was good but the biggest problem is that it took them 2-3 days to come out after each initial call. The fridge was misdiagnosed the first time saying that it was just a "brown out" but immediately stopped working again that night when power and voltage wasn't an issue. After calling the next morning and waiting days for the "next" appointment, the engineer came, had to order a new part and after I called the office to schedule an appointment for when the part was estimated to come, I was treated extremely rudely on the phone. Since they take so long from your call to actually have an opening, I had to wait for the part to come in and then 3 more days for them to come install it. We were even told the wrong day for one of the appointments so after waiting around for the 4 hour time block, and checking sources to verify that I had indeed written down what I was first told, I called and they said it was the next day at a completely different time which was completely their error. I echo other opinions that Samsung desperately needs to get a new repair company because unfortunately, we were at their mercy unless we wanted to pay out of pocket. read more

As I am writing this review, I have read the review for this company here on yelp and all 5 reviews are bad. Contrary to what I am going to write because I have a pleasant experience with them. I wonder , the customers that have satisfactory experience with this company had no time to give a good review..only the ones that have bad experiences and upset "will make" time. I am a single mother with 2 teenagers, just got laid off and seemed everything falling apart and the last thing I need will be a broken refrigerator I called jem appliance and was told that since it`s 4 years old it could be out of warranty if it`s not a seal system? ( Whatever it was), I said to the lady (customer service) I really cannot afford the cost of an expensive repair what more of a new fridge? the lady talk to the manager then came back to me and told me that I will be charged for $80 only for diagnostic only and we`ll go from there I agreed. Next day, the engineer (I didnt know that they are not technician but appliance engineers! wow!) guess they get paid good and dont need my money ! (kidding) anyways, the engineer came and diagnose the fridge and found out that it is the sensor that failed. He replaced it and my fridge is working fine now. I was charged $80 and told the sensor is on him...I am really touched. It maybe a small thing to some people but for me in a my current situation is really a big thing! read more

Samsung Customer Support gave us a Trouble Ticket # for JEM Appliance Service and Repair to address a cooling issue in the refrigerator section of our new Counter Depth, Side-by-Side, Samsung Refrigerator, a very attractive model with high tech. controls and features. JEM sent Mitchell even on a 11 AM Sunday appointment because of the urgency of the cooling issue. (No problem with the Freezer.) Mitchell expertly diagnosed the problem, ordered replacement parts for the Display board, the defrost sensor, and the cabinet sensor. By Wednesday, with parts ready, Mitchell came and installed them. Later that day, the unit cooled down enough for us to re-store our food stuff in the unit. Mitchell's repair took care of the problem with the Fridge temperature in the operating band reliably for about six days now since the repair. Our gratitude and thanks to JEM and Mitchell for fixing our Refrigerator. IF YOU HAVE SERVICE CONTRACT WITH LOWE'S PLEASE READ I've never post a Yelp review, but my experience with the companies below impelled me to do it. JEM Appliance, Awesome Service! We had our stove from Lowe's out of service, display went out. First company the sent out we amateurs Appliance Repair Heroes. Not a They misdiagnosed the problem with the stove, we were waiting on a part that they said we needed, never updated us. This went on for almost two months. Very poor customer service. We called Lowe's to send out another company...next day Jem Appliance came out with Jose and Jun. They were very thorough, explained what the issue was and why the stove was not working, replaced the parts that really needed to be fixed and our stove was working within the hour. Thank you very much for your expertise and professionalism. Lesson learned with Lowe's...do not let them send out whoever they want. Jose came out to fix my dryer which was on a maintenance agreement and not drying properly and the filter icon kept flashing even if I cleaned out the filters, inside and out. We had another company come out and he said there was enough airflow. Wrong. Never did dry as it should. Jose simply asked a few questions about where the air duct blew out of and where it went. He immediately went outside and took a look at the air duct outside the house, stuck his hand in there and immediately found out that it had some concrete inside that would not let the flap open enough. He chipped away the concrete in duct entry and loosened the flap to move as it should. Could not believe how much more airflow was coming out and that solved the whole problem. As I read the reviews with this company, I really hesitated but this is my extended warranty assigned to my Samsung washer. So one of their customer service called me Friday and made an appointment, (wanted a Monday)told them can't do it on a Tuesday or a Wednesday (which the lady named Mary tried) because I will be busy going around for I will have guests on Thursday. Surprisingly, they understood and gave me a late Monday afternoon appointment and an hour call before they go to my home. A technician named Chico or chino or Chito, hard to say his name.. Anyways, my washer was fixed without needing a part! He was polite and explains why the unit wasn't working properly. I give this company 5 stars for customer service. I was referred to JEM by Samsung for our dishwasher. I called Samsung on Tuesday and I had an appointment for the next day (between 4-7). I received a call from Fernando at 4pm stating that they will arrive in 15min. Fernando was very punctual, skilled, and he knew what he was doing. He did a great job training his trainee (Brian) and they had my dishwasher fixed in less than 30min. Dishwasher "problem" some lazy assembly line person did not do their job in securing a part. Fernando Guillem is an asset to JEM and if you call for an appointment I would ask for him personally if you have a choice. Im so happy with the service I got from JEM Appliance with my Samsung fridge. The service technician was polite, even wore shoe covers. There were 2 servicer that I called that ripped me off! and never fixed my fridge because they need to order parts , so on so forth..finally called samsung and they gave me JEM appliance to call..I told them that my fridge is not cooling and they scheduled me that same day! the tecnician came and said the compressor was bad and I thought ..oh no! they will need to get parts and will be rescheduled again..as to my surprise they have the compressor in their van! took almost a couple of hours to install but they fixed my fridge that very same day!! thank you very much!! read more

I could tell from the minute "Roland", the repair man from Jem Appliance, came that he knew what he was doing, and I was right. He went right to work on our new French doors Samsung refrigerator. He had the right diagnostic tools. He determined what he thought was the problem which required a replacement part (a sensor) that he had with him. He made the replacement very quickly which required considerable disassembling. He put it back together and told me to check the temperature the next day and let him know if the problem was solved. this Repair service is recommended by my mother in law from hayward even though Im far away from their office they drive all the way here in halfmoon bay I was so greatful that my mother in law recommend them their technician is so polite and on time i want to give the credit to their fast and quick service and they did good job to my broken ice maker they are awsome and Im giving them five star to that I never have a good experience in repairing stuffs but in this case i was impressed to their service they are really good their technician know what their doing they are not just go to your house and do nothing it take 2 hours to figure out whats wrong but suddenly they fix it so well ... awsome read more

Just received repair service from Jem to fix ice maker on my Samsung fridge. After reading previous reviews I Was surprised with an excellent service and professionalism. After contacting Samsung appointment was scheduled for the next week. However, I received immediately call back from Jem. Lis offered next day visit by technician. between 11 and 3PM. At 2:30 I received call from technician that he will come soon in 20min. And he was exact in time as promised. Problem with broken wire was immidiately discovered and fixed. Fridge was reset, tested and fully funcional. Technician was extremely polite and helpful with advise how to avoid similar problem in future. read more

Our ice maker broke due to user error (husband shoved the door closed with the ice tray in the way) I knew this was going to cost us some money to fix. After my local repair man couldn't fix it, I called Samsung and they referred me to JEM Appliance. The scheduler was very eager to get a tech out ASAP. This company gets the highest rating for customer service, from the first phone call to the technician they sent to our door. Their staff is eager to help a customer out, they had a technician to our house within 2 hours. The technician was professional, educated on our Samsung refrigerator system, and fixed the problem within one hour. We highly recommend this company to anyone with Samsung refrigerator problems. My experience with this company was exceptional. My refrigerator is under extended warranty and original service company refused to come unless I could provide original proof of purchase! After contacting Warranty Company a second time, I was able to get appointment with JEM Appliance. The technicians, Jose and Milton, did an excellent job. I recently scheduled a repair appointment thru Lowe's for my Samsung refrigerator. I requested JEM Appliance because of their prior customer service and was not disappointed. The serviceman called 45 minutes before my scheduled appointment time to say he was on his way and arrived 15 minutes early. He (Milan) diagnosed the problem and brought the correct part with him to do the repair. I would rate them more than 5 stars. The burner in my oven was not igniting and the wires were broken, but when Jose and Jun came they helped me out and replaced my glow ignition and wires! They were both super friendly, professional, and helpful throughout the whole process! I have warranty for my oven but with what had happened to my oven it would have costed more if I called elsewhere. Big thanks to Jose and Jun, they were able to help me out! Jose and Kai (forgive me if I'm spelling that wrong) came out to fix a leak for my washer. After a quick but thorough inspection, we found that there was actually drainage coming from a clogged pipe. Jose also pointed out that there was some bad corrosion on another pipe connected to the water heater, which could lead to serious problems if we let it go unnoticed.
