Been to Jenny's several times while vising family, and will continue to go back. This is an old-school, family-owned place. While you are likely to have to wait a few on the weekend, it is worth the service and food you will get. The decor is quite eclectic and is actually entertaining to just sit and take it all in. Servers are experienced overall, quick to attend to your needs, and take care of you. Not only that, the families obviously participate, they have more than enough help to be sure your coffee cup is always warm and things get cleaned up quickly. They have a great selection of breakfast-lover food. Loved their biscuits and gravy, and even the basics of hash browns are tasty. Had their Benedict skillet, and it was good but not amazing--still ate it all. Will definitely be going back there. read more

Being fairly new to the area, we are still searching out good breakfast places - places that open before 9am since we are early risers. We decided to check out Jenny's after seeing the reviews on Yelp. We were not disappointed. Our server was friendly and helpful. The food was good breakfast food. I had Bacon and Eggs with the Hashbrowns and Toast. My husband had the Ham and Eggs and Biscuits and Gravy. Let's start with mine. For a change, I got scrambled eggs. The eggs were good, the bacon was tasty and the hashbrowns were great. They are a little different as the potatoes are grated larger but they are also taste fresh and not like they are using frozen potatoes. The ham was great. His eggs were cooked perfectly over easy (which seems to be hard to get in most restaurants). The biscuits and gravy were ok. The gravy is from a mix but tastes better than most we have had around here. My husband is a chef and pretty picky about his food but not one to complain to the restaurant. He was happy with is food overall but would choose something other than the biscuits and gravy next time. As for the restaurant being dirty, I will say this. The restaurant is old. The building has been there a long time. It is a local cafe....not a Michelin star establishment. We did not use the rest rooms, so I can't speak to that but we had a clean table. The carpets probably did look dirty...in my experience, carpets are impossible to keep looking nice for long in a restaurant..but I am not eating off the carpet. What can I say..I have an affinity for local places and dive restaurants and bars.... We will definitely go back. My mom is coming into town and I will be taking her there for breakfast one day - to split something because the portions are large :) read more

Nice little breakfast place in the Valley. Went with my wife last week and had a good experience. Prices are pretty normal - similar to what you would pay at other sit down breakfast places. Atmosphere was charming and quaint. Staff was all friendly. It was clear that there are a lot of repeat customers. Seems like the staff knew most people's names (and it was crowded). This came close to a 5 star rating. However the food just wasn't amazing. Nothing wrong with it - but not all that memorable either. I had the strawberry waffles. Strawberry's weren't properly thawed out so they were still a little frozen in the center. Wife had no complaints with her short stack. The food was probably worth about 4 stars for what I expect from a breakfast restaurant. Major problem was the service. It's Black Friday, empty, and two waitresses don't seem to be enough for the 10 total customers. Constantly texting on their phones, obnoxiously yelling about a coworker who, if these waitresses are to be believed, will be fired. All the while we're sitting here waiting for ketchup and some toast. After asking a couple times and our six year old verbalizing his need for ketchup, one of our party just decided to get up and grab it from another table. Poor. read more

This place is awesome. Came around noon and there was no wait. First thing I noticed was the old "antique" look. Their decorations consisted of very old cooking hardware: mixers, waffle makers, kettles, etc. everything was prepared by hand, the strawberry lemonade had great cut strawberries and the country fried steak was hand breaded so it was also nice and crispy. The price is reasonable as well, around 15 bucks for my meal and my drink. Definitely one of my favorite cafes around! read more

This was the first place I had breakfast at after moving to Spokane. I was completely drawn in by the promise of AYCE hash browns. I LOVE hash browns! After taking our seats my first thought was "this place looks a little dirty". Not disgusting, but just like it hadn't received a really thorough cleaning in a decade or 2. My meal was pretty simple. 2 eggs over easy, sausage toast and HASH BROWNS! Everything went downhill after getting the food. The food was bland a felt like there was no effort put into it. Everything was under seasoned and warm, not hot. It seemed as though it spent a good deal of time under a heat lamp. I tried some of my dad's pancakes and they were overcooked and tasted like they were made from a store bought mix. I was disappointed enough in the food that I didn't even bother with taking advantage of the AYCE hash browns. I still haven't been back and don't feel that I will be making a return trip to Jenny's Café any time soon. read more

This is one of my favorite breakfast places! Cheap eats, all-you-can-eat but never do hashbrowns, excellent omletes and pancackes. Even the coffee is good and that's hard to find outside a latte these days. The best thing about this place is the service. Always prompt, always friendly and the always ALWAYS come back to ask how things are. This is, to me, the most important step in sit-down places. This question does no good if you are 75% done, but its great after two or three bites and allows things to be addressed. The overall restaurant could use a bit of an update and maybe a hard scrubbing, but who's complaining? The menu is pretty large, actually a double sided affair that is likely 25X20 and crammed full of selections. I had the Dad's Favorite omelette and it had everything you might want and was covered with gravy. One complaint, I had sausage gravy that has the chopped-up links in the gravy. Met friends for breakfast last Saturday morning (9:30 am) and all of us enjoyed a very nice meal as is nearly always the case here. Only drawback is it was VERY crowded which meant it was somewhat noisy which hindered cross table conversation. Still the staff was able to wait on everyone with efficiency and the food was good so given that it was a weekend, it was and should be somewhat expected. Never felt rushed by the staff and they were as attentive as possible with that many folks to take care of. As all of us are seniors, we concluded that weekend meets would be better served if they occurred on a weekday. read more

I've driven by Jenny's café many, many times. They say don't judge a book by its cover, and that is true for this café. It has a country feel. The antiques that decorated the place brought a warm feeling of home. The servers were absolutely friendly, bubbly and kind. I'm not a big meat-eater-for-breakfast type of person but my friend really loved the options. As an artist, I created my own breakfast. I had a cup of fruit, two eggs done over medium and French toast. I had no complaints. This is café is more for the hearty breakfast eaters. I love that my cup was always filled with coffee. I definitely would return to this place alone, or with a friend. My friend had the Kendrick Lil' Bit, this comprised of all you can eat hashbrowns, 4 strips of bacon, one egg and your choice of half a waffle or one pancake. Her bacon was done exactly the way she liked it, which means that it was crispy yet chewable. Her pancake was light and fluffy, and the strawberry jam tasted homemade. Awesome food, great service, fun decor. We wanted to find somewhere to eat breakfast on our way to downtown Spokane and the reviews did not disappoint! The parking lot was packed at 10am Saturday but only took about 15 minutes to get a table for 4. The food is delicious and affordable and the staff is always super friendly. Plus the inside is adorable! It's quite humorous, we lived near Jenny's for 8 years (we didn't go out very often at the time) and while we were looking for a new house decided to try it out before one of the showings and LOVED it. We've only tried one new breakfast place near our new house since moving and hated it. So now we drive to Jenny's for our breakfast outings and kick ourselves for not going there more often when we lived closer. read more

Just ordered 2 chicken fried steaks with over medium eggs and hash To Go. I get home and start to dig in..the eggs were completely Underdone as in Raw, the hash tasted like nothing but oil, and the most dissatisfying was the main part of the dish, absolutely no seasoning on the meat at all. Had to come home re cook my eggs and season my meal. Other wise i would have thrown up that food all over the living room. I've been a cook for 6 years now and this is not how it's done..take your time and cook the damn food right. read more
