I looked at all the Yelp reviews and thought it can't be true, but I'll give them a try, at least it's better than going to the dealer. (Every VW dealer in the area seems to be disbonest) My engine light went on and I ran a computer diagnostic before I took it in to them and it came up with six different codes. I personally thought it might be the MAF sensor and I was praying it's not the head gasket. Left the car with them in the evening and the next morning Tom promptly called and told me that they came up with six codes as well and then they cleared the codes and took the car for a drive plus checked it out. They didn't find anything wrong with it and thought it might have been an electrical misfire. (VW are known for that). I've been driving the car for two weeks now and it drives fine and there are no issues with it. They could have told me it's the MAF sensor, but they didn't! They could have come up with some bogus problem, but they didn't! I truly appreciate the honesty and the service! read more

My tire pressure light was on so I was going to put air in my tires here. I wasn't sure sure how to use the machine so the cashier (Sandy) had Tom help me. He was so nice and went out of his way and showed me how to tell how much pressure to put in my tires and how to let air out, etc and did it all for me. The next day my tire pressure light came on again and I was stressed because I had to move that weekend, so I drove my car to Shell and saw Tom. I waved him down and told him the light is on again, and within 15 minutes he figured out that there was a nail in my tire and patched it up. Both Tom and Sandy were so friendly and straightforward. I realized at 3:30 in the afternoon that I had a flat tire and stopped by on a whim to see if they could patch it for me. Chase was able to help me and immediately started to work on my tire. He was really friendly and happy to help. He and Derrick worked together to get the tire patched and on my car and put my spare tire away. The shop agreed to inspect and install the bulb (they ended up installing it for free)! I also was given a ride to work so I wouldn't have to wait for my car. I've taken my car to some other locations nearby that had some questionable practices. This Shell location deserves the great reviews. The employees along with the father/son team (father is the owner) are honest, professional, and efficient. I had a concern about my brakes and was told it was fine given it passed the safety check (other places would've seen it as an opportunity to charge you for something not needed), but the son did tell me they can test drive it with me sitting in the car the next time I bring it in. Great service! I called and asked how long the wait would be for an inspection and they told me 45 minutes. The actual service takes 15-20 minutes so I was planning on being there for a little over an hour. Needless to say, that's exactly how long I was there. Recommend and will go here again. Did good job on auto emissions testing today. Was very hot day, long line of cars at the end of July but everyone was very friendly. I Passed so was happy. 4 1/2 stars only because it was hard driving around station in line for test and was parked in hard place to back out of once they finished. Chase has helped me when I was in a bind not once, but TWICE! First time was one evening when my battery died at the gas station. Even though it was late and the shop was closed, the attendant for the gas station gave Chase a call and he was at the station within 10 minutes helping me charge my battery. Let's just pause here for a minute to acknowledge this amazing customer service.......!!! The second time Chase and his team recognized a VERY expensive issue with my engine. While they could have easily charged me $5000+ to fix it, instead they did some investigating and learned that this is an error that happened due to a faulty design. Chase coached me on how "to be strong" with the dealership and to insist that they fix the issue ...for FREE! As someone who does not know a lot about cars, it really means the world to me to be able to go to an Auto body shop and trust the people I'm working with. Not one to write reviews much, but the guys here were absolutely fantastic. I had a terrible vibration in my truck going down the highway, so naturally I needed my wheels balanced. The issue is that I have off road tires and not everybody is qualified to balance them. Long story short, after calling around to Just Tires, Goodyear, Firestone and NTB, not one of those places had the foggiest idea if their machines would balance my wheels. I called Jermantown Shell and immediately was invited in to be taken care of. In and out in 15 minutes, Chase did an awesome job and my truck runs smooth again. A while ago I went to get my emissions done, and they did a wonderful job, but then my car wouldn't start... I freaked out a little, being a high school student, but the guys working were so extremely helpful, especially Chase and Marty!! This was a few weeks back, but I am super thankful for their help, knowledge, friendliness, and effort! Okay so since I am on yelp today, I wanted to go ahead and review a bunch of places that I have wanted to review for a while. This service station is great. We have been taking my wife's car to this place for a very long time. They are as honest as you can get and the service manager is amazing. She had some strange things going on with her car so we decided to take it in. I gave them a list of things that I thought needed to be checked and they spent three days on the car and did not charge us one penny for all the work they did. They also only changed the battery after I kept pushing them to do it. They could have lied to us and told us a bunch of things and we would have paid for it. They have done all my auto work recently and I have found them to be incredibly honest and when they do work you need they are very very reasonable. I recently had a problem with my car cutting out and emergency lights coming on after I replaced the battery. I figured it might be the starter or the alternator and if they called and told me that I would have accepted it and paid for the replacement. Nope just some corrosion on the terminals. Cleaned it up, put on some grease, test drove it and checked the emergency lights. $40, done. Could have had me for hundreds. The same on a few other items. I had a tire shop tell me all my shocks were blown and leaking. Replaced the back ones myself, had them check the front, nothing wrong, at least nothing immediate. read more

This is my gas station of choice for getting gas. I have only two complaints, and those are that the lanes are too narrow, so it's possible to get stuck if there's a lot of people there getting gas, and the gas pumps are too close together, so if someone in front of you is getting gas and you park at the pump behind, it's possible the nozzle won't be able to reach your fuel tank. Besides that, however, I love this place. The holiday inflatables are an absolute favorite, and they go all out for the holidays. That alone totally makes it worth going here. read more

I felt I needed to write a review because as a woman getting your car worked on often times you will get "taken for a ride" so to speak. This was not the case for this establishment. I came in for a knocking noise in my front end. The mechanics were very efficient with diagnosing the problem. They did not try to add anything on or sell me some huge problem. I had to get my brakes checked so I decided to stop by here from reading other yelp reviews... Upon arrival, I asked the cashier that I wanted to talk to a tech and she was prompt. Took 5mins for the tech to come talk to me and before I said anything, he said I needed to drop my car and fill out a form. I mean, I don't think that was very professional. Anyways, I did tell the tech about my brakes and that it needed checked and told me that he couldn't do anything to help me at that moment. Do NOT go here. I repeat DO NOT! I dropped off my car on Friday evening around 4PM and they finally called me back the following day at 3PM. After finally getting back to me with their absurd price they literally called me 3 times in the span of 10 minutes saying they needed an answer or they would charge me a diagnostic fee. My car recently had one of it's engine lights come on and I was freaking out. I was there about 6pm on a Friday and I have to say I have never met a pair of more friendly and helpful staff at a gas station than the two guys that helped me out. Even went so far as to search information on their phone to see if they could help me figure out the reset buttons on my car! Thank you both - you were life savers! It can be pretty intimidating as a female to find a new garage, but these guys were great! It is about time I review this place. The first time I came to Jermantown Shell I was treated like...dare I say family? I wasn't given all of the car talk where some start talking about things that do not relate to the problem I have and with all of the car parts I know nothing about. Instead, I was asked about my problem and told that they would take care of it. First, I've been coming here routinely for an oil change and I have no problem waiting inside the gas station. I always have great conversation and bring a book when they get tired of talking. I've spoken to Tom multiple times and he is a fair, knowledgeable and pretty cool guy. On one particular day, I didn't trust what the Honda dealer down the street was telling me so I went up the street to get an opinion from someone I like and trust. No unnecessary repairs for my car, instead, they brought out the part that they mentioned at the Honda dealership and SHOWED me EXACTLY what was going on and admitted that the dealership wasn't lying to me. Fair. But it is the extra step that was taken in order to make me see what was going on. I recommend people to go to Jermantown Shell as you won't leave disappointed. Wish more shops would be more like this shop...the epitome of good service. read more
