I love breakfast and this place is definitely for the breakfast lover. We came here on a Sunday morning and the place was packed which is a good sign. We were instructed by the sign to seat ourselves. TVs deck the walls showing news and sports. They have a full bar including bottomless mimosas for brunch and outside seating. You had the option of ordering breakfast, lunch or dinner. All of us ordered breakfast. I ordered the meat lovers omelette with 8 grain toast (French Pantry bread) and fries. It was delicious! I'd do a solid 3.5 if I could. The service is ok, slow on refills and such mostly, but the buffalo salad I always order is never disappointing. They make really good grilled veggies but ask for them light on the oil or you lose all sense of healthy. It's pretty busy on the football days. They seem to attract a good mix of ages and all. Update 01/10/2021: whoever that curly brown hair girl that puts her hair up needs to be re-trained. Didn't get her name but we came in, sat down at a table in the back, she took forever to come our table after waiting for 10-15 minutes. Finally when she comes back to give us our drinks, I told her we were ready to order, well she then walks away from our table and goes off and does something else. Comes back and doesn't even apologize to us, she just says she had to go "make her rounds". So when I started to place my order, her tone of voice changed and was RUDE! Right when she asked me what kind of meat I wanted, she walks away yet again in mid-sentence. My boyfriend was fed up with her rudeness and we both walked outta there. We didn't even bother asking for a manager but next time I'll make sure she's working that day and call her out. That was inexcusable for her rudeness. Normally we don't have any issues with Jerry's but this is the second time we've had bad service here. We waited over an hour and half just to get our Nachos. After over two hours of waiting for our food....we finally asked to cancel our order. That's when the staff got really upset with us for canceling. When my friend spoke to a manager his only response was that they were slammed. I get being busy....but we have been here before when dining was booked outside and inside and didn't have to wait over 2 hours for our food. I'm not what kind of management is running that store today, but as a restaurant manager myself, at no point would I ever be so completely unprofessional to the paying customers. Great little place that I recently was introduced to. My friend and I were on our way to Alhambra (a funny thing happened on the way to the theater lol) We wanted to go somewhere just to grab a drink, and she recommended Jerry's from coming here before. The servers knew her, and hugged her! So I had a coconut-y drink and she had a margarita that she let me taste. Both were really good, and the right amount kick to em. We also ordered some fried gator and it was super tasty. Service was great, it looks like a really fun place to chill out and listen to the live music my friend was telling me they have some nights, and the outside seating will be fab when its not one thousand degrees outside. After a couple hours of manual labor my compatriot and I decided, on a whim, to try Jerry's Grille out. Walking into this venue I had no expectations, as I had no prior knowledge about Jerry's. Jerry's was packed we were told by a sign to seat ourselves and that is exactly what we did. We sat at one of the few open seats and were quickly greeted by our server. Being in a root beer mood I was disgusted to find out that they did not carry that drink and instead offered pibb. I eventually set my bias aside and settled for a pibb, which may have ended up being my favorite part of the meal. The venue was nothing special, just your average run of the mill grille with a bar and TV's galore. We hastily put an order in at our servers first visit as we didn't want to wait too long. I ordered the fish bites as an appetizer and a Baja chicken sandwich for my main course. The person accompanying me ordered the French dip. As I sat waiting for my meal I began to question what am I doing here and what is my true purpose for being on this earth. In my humble opinion I began to believe the purpose of life is to enjoy its splendors and live a just and fruitful life. I accomplished none of these things at Jerry's. I would argue that visiting Jerry's might have actually made me a more hating and spiteful being. My 'fish' bites appetizer arrived and to say the least, it was very disappointing as my first taste of what Jerry's had to offer. As we discussed the fish bites, I looked down to tie my shoe and found a massive cockroach asleep in its eternal slumber beneath me. If the staff of Jerry's could not take care of a simple cockroach, then how could I expect them to care for me. Already disappointed by the appetizer and the hefty wait time, we finally received our main course. My chicken sandwich came on soggy white toast with a sad sample of onions and green peppers. After returning from the first of many trips to the deplorable restroom, my comrade came to receive his French dip sandwich, he was looking forward to this meal as he asked the waitress for her advice about the sandwich before making his final decision to order it. He posed the nice woman with the query of which she, in her own personal opinion, preferred, the French dip, or the Philly cheese steak. After pondering this question for a moment she replied, "I prefer the French dip, there is more meat". Because of this response he had high hopes for the French dip and it's expectation for the many meats to come. At first glance, it looked just about like any other French dip he had ever eaten, and that is exactly how it tasted too. Absolutely nothing special about this sandwich expect for the exceptional dryness of the meat inside, even after soaking it in the salty Au Jus sauce. We both received fries as our sides and both agreed they were very underwhelming. If you can't make somewhat decent fries then I would ask the question as to why you would even think to open a restaurant. Whoever Jerry is, I truly pity you and your weak attempt to run an establishment. Please God, take a look at your life and this horrendous and pitiful excuse for a restaurant. Also I'm not sure if this correlates to the meal but I just must include how I completely obliterated Jerry's bathroom. When I say obliterated I would compare my excrement to hurricane Katrina, and Jerry's bathroom to the wasteland that was New Orleans after that tragedy. I whole-heartedly apologize to the Jerry's worker that is tasked with cleaning up that bathroom. Even more odd about our visit is that my companion also had a shit worthy of a story. His first trip to the restroom, as mentioned before, was taken before the meal, so his bowels were empty before he started eating. Towards the end of his meal, he headed to the bathroom again , thinking nothing of it, he was not ready for the absolute "shit show" that was to come (no pun intended). As soon as he sat down he released a monsoon of liquid shit upon the handicapped toilet as the regular stall was clogged with mass amounts of dirty toilet paper. He sat there for a considerable amount of time, releasing wave after wave of ungodly bodily fluids upon the porcelain throne. He was in there for such a long time that I had to leave the establishment, embarrassed that I had to sit in such a place by myself for so long. I was in your establishment around 12pm. The waitress I encountered was unprofessional. We had asked about a breakfast item turns out its only on weekends. Takes our drink order. Before we can order something else cause we were ready she cuts us off and says I'll be back. After a few minutes she comes back we get ready to order Philly and buffalo sandwich. My girlfriend makes a comment about driving out here to get breakfast making conversation. The waitress again doesn't care to give customer service cuts her off Im really busy right now. Went with a group of Biker friends. It was very chilly outside yesterday. The had us sit outside, but did light up the heater for us and that helped. The food was okay and the service on my behalf sucked. I was so mad at this waitress. She dropped my toast, said she would bring more-left my toast on the ground and never brought me more. Never ever got a refill on my measley one cup of coffee-I needed more. She never asked! My eggs were not cooked over medium. They cooked like rubber, did not eat them. I asked for a to go box. It took her 25 minutes to bring me my box and check. The rest of my group, she knew them and took good care of them. My husband, daughter and myself were so pissed off at this waitress, I might not ever go back again. She totally ignored us three. My bill was almost $40.00. I had trouble leaving a tip, but did leave a small tip. I usually tip 25%. Not this time. I don't get mad very often, but I was pissed yesterday. Maybe it was a bad day for her. We've been to Jerry's numerous times, and this was one of the worse visits. We're not surprised when things take a little while, but this wait was extremely long. We had our kids and grandson, and as most know, kids don't wait well. I've been a waitress, and a lot of waitstaff know to try and get the babies food as soon as possible, but that didn't happen. After waiting for our food, my daughter-in-laws pancake wasn't cooked. They bright her a second, and the same problem. She also stated that her pancake had a strong taste of baking soda. For a sports grill, I thought the food was pretty good and service great. (Would probably give 3.5 stars if that were an option). Not a big fan of the tartar sauce, very liquidy and different somehow. Colby club sandwich was good - high quality, fresh sliced meats... I could have passed on the American cheese which was melty from the toast (maybe you would like that). I got the marble rye bread which was really good, strong rye flavor. .. however i won't get rye on the club again because my taste buds couldn't get too far past the rye flavor. Felt like I should be eating the corned beef instead. Mac & cheese really tasty, made with shells and oven melted cheddar cheese on top. Not the creamiest but not dry either. Just needed S&P Side salad ok, not the highest quality of ingredients but acceptable. Really good chilly with an sessions layer of melted cheese on top. I was rather disappointed- I recently moved to the area and hoped this would be my new local pub. The decor/ style inside is just odd and outdated. It feels like a family restaurant that they awkwardly added a tacky bar into. Went to watch an end of season NFL game on a sat night, and the place cleared out once the dinner hour was over. The staff was rudely putting chairs on top of other tables while we were still there!!! The game was still on and it was def early for a Sat night. We all ordered food which was mediocre. One thing I definitely like about this restaurant is that it has a little bit of everything for anyone so anything you name it they have it. Their portion size is just more than generous! The best bar food, grilled chicken, wings, and best burger I've had in town when I tell you that their burgers are the most tasteful most juiciest most delicious burgers that I have had in Jacksonville it is so good! They must put their blood sweat and tears with how perfect their burgers are. The bacon is oh my God nothing but thick and crisp delicious just made to perfection. I have yet to finish exploring the rest of their menu. Moving onto their drinks, they are just orgasmic! I am shocked to see an average overall rating for Jerry's. I think they have the best burger in Jax. My only complaint is that they use House Brand ketchup. Never fear Heinz has a small bottle that I bring with me. Okay I have another complaint. I can't stand it when a sports bar silences the tv's and invites some douche in to do trivia. Review Summary: Great food with friendly, fun and personable staff. We found this place about a year ago and have been going back quite often. They have great specials everyday and a pretty good happy hour as well. We have tried many things from the quesadilla to the chicken parm and it has always been a great meal. The staff here is a great group that are attentive and don't mind having a quick chat with you even when they are busy. Our fav app has to be the potato skins which is large enough to be a meal or appease 3-4 people. Went here yesterday with some friends for "brunch"...the menu has a lot to choose from and we all got something different. I opted for a grilled chicken quesadilla wrap. It was pretty tasty and another got the BELT (Bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato sandwich) which was really good. They have bottomless mimosas and bloody mary's for $10.00. Not a bad deal. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars is because they forgot some of our items and the service was extremely slow. On top of that, there were about 4 different servers that came to our table with stuff we DIDN'T order asking if it was ours. It just kind of seemed sloppy. The drinks that I ordered were not really made good (cosmo), but over all I would say it's pretty a-ok and I would probably go back with a group of people, if we needed something close by that had televisions and a decent food selection that wasn't too pricey. By coincidence I met the owner and a touring musician whose band would be playing there on a Friday night (8-MN?) when I was working in the neighborhood. I figured that it was meant to be. I'd been there once before, mid-day, for a patty melt and it was good. I'm a burger-meister. Swiss and mushroom burger was a good buy. The cloe slaw was marvelous. I don't drink, but my buddy does, and the beers were big, as was the cola. The place was loud and fun. Good band. Good value. Nice staff. No the owner wasn't there, nor was I comped.
