After reading multiple reviews I decided to share my similar experiences that other JM's customer have had. Poor customer service. I called our order in over the phone only to have to wait in line for 20 minutes just to pay. So no point in calling in orders. We had 2 Italian's. They were SO SOGGY. ABSOLUTELY DRENCHED in oil and vinegar. Many parts of the sandwich were inedible. I would suggest ALWAYS asking for O&V on the side. I added the sweet red pepper spread to my sandwich- not great. Eating this sandwich was like going through an obstacle course! Picking off the bad parts, re-adding the good, wiping up drippy oil and vinegar, picking out the chunks of seeds in the red pepper spread, re-positioning the good parts of bread with the meat- UGH. 2 stars are for good quality meat. I would give them another shot if they weren't so expensive- $19 for 2 sandwiches. read more

However, did not like the employee making mine, the entire time he was talking to someone else, therefore got my order wrong when I told him it was wrong he told me no he didn't put spices on it and I asked for mustard. I saw him put spices on the sandwich and I never asked for mustard. If he wasn't talking the entire time, than maybe he would have got my order correct. He did remake my sandwich, however forgot pickles and I had to remind him. It was horrible service. Something that should have taken one minute turned into ten. Wasting my time. I found it no comparison, meat was definitely a huge cut above in quality and taste, no phony processed flavor, bread was excellent and liked their oil and vinegar on the lettuce. I love how they use very high end meats and they cut it right in front of you, unlike places like subway that already have it pre sliced and have it laying out for who knows how long. 3) MIKES WAY. I was starving and had a hankering for soup and a good sandwich. I wanted Togo's. My husband knows I like to try new places and suggested Jersey Mike's--he said his acquaintance (whom I do not know) said it was the best. "Is he fat?" I asked. "Yep." My husband replied. It's been my belief that you can't go wrong with a fat person's restaurant recommendation, and I have never been led astray. Until tonight. We sauntered into Jersey Mike's at around 8:30pm. The place was clean and welcoming, and the two young ladies behind the counter had outstanding personalities. I was not amused in general, as I had gotten to the point of being overly hungry, but they took my hangry attitude in stride. The first disappointing discovery happened about 2 minutes into my looking at the menu. No soup. Oh well, I can deal. The menu is, well, not Togo's--it's rather generic. But, we were already there, so I tried to make the best of it. Hubs and I settled on two regular sized subs to split. We went with the Original Italian-Mike's Way and the Chipotle Cheesesteak with tomatoes. The Italian, like someone else mentioned, had an overwhming flavor of shredded lettuce and little else. The meat was flavorless and the bread was borderline stale (which is no surprise when you see how it is stored). The Chipotle Cheesesteak was completely unremarkable, meat also flavorless and barely a hint of chipotle. Jersey Mike's did the job in satisfying my hunger, but did nothing for my craving. I still want Togo's, and we are out $35 (our kids also got kid meals) from this attempt at eating somewhere new. The three stars are for the girls behind the counter. This place will survive having mediocre food, so long as their employees are all as customer service oriented as those two. Oh, and the chips and cooler drinks--I hate fountain soda. read more

This store has the worst ability to handle a busy lunch hour even with 4 people working the sandwich prep area and one handling the grill. I placed an order for curbside pickup. When I got to the store to park, I realized there was a lot of construction and a sign clearly stating customers could not park in the designated curbside pickup zone. I parked in the back of the restaurant and called the store to ask what their customers should do in this situation. To my initial surprise, no one answered. I called 4 times before the time for my pickup order passed beyond 15 minutes. After calling the store, I circled the block 8 times to find parking out front, as close to the front as I could get. Finally, I gave in and parked in the construction zone, hoping someone would see my car. I also pressed the "I'm Here" button to alert them again that I was out front. Again, nothing happened. I then called them 32 times! It went straight to voicemail half of the time and surprise; the mailbox was full. So, I gave in and left my car outside and ran in since now I've been parked for over 20 mins in the no parking zone. My order was sitting next to the register, not in the walk-up pick-up zone inside the restaurant. The guy at the register had his hand on the wireless telephone. I snapped. I yelled at him and said, this is my order and you've been dismissing the calls! He never once looked at me, addressed me. He picked up the phone and looked at it like he'd never seen a phone before. I ask for a refund and to speak to a manager. Again, no response. I ask the lady by the grill to speak with her and she said she couldn't walk 10 ft because "the grill". Finally, one of the guys on the line says, "Ma'am we're really busy, sorry". Jersey Mike Owner - If your staff cannot handle the foot traffic and online orders, reconsider the online orders! I should have been considered as important as everyone waiting in that line. If anything, more important since I had already paid, but that's beyond the point. Please teach your staff time management and how being courteous to your customers goes a long way. Teach them to be aware. The Danville storefront/sidewalk area has had construction going on for months. They knew parking curbside was an issue and should have been a bit more diligent. Was I upset, hell yes! But what made me more upset was their lack of awareness. They're kids, I know. But if you can't train them to work in customer service, something a restaurant thrives on more than maybe the taste of the food, then you need to reconsider your staff, priorities, or the restaurant as a whole. read more

It's quite a trek to get to my favorite sub sandwich place in San Francisco now that I live in the 'burbs. I tried Jersey Mike's this weekend to see if I could find a replacement closer to home. It's OK. JM could have been a contender but falls short in several ways. I ordered the following: Regular size #13: the Original Italian with Provolone, Ham, Prosciuttini, Cappacuolo, Salami and Pepperoni, lettuce, tomato, red wine vinegar, olive oil blend, oregano and cherry pepper relish + 22 oz. fountain drink ------------------------------------- $9.64 total I asked for everything on it except onions, mayo and salt. I also asked them to go light on the oil and vinegar. If what they poured on was considered light, their regular pour must really drench the sandwich. For a cold sandwich, it wasn't half bad. It had a tang and just a hint of heat. There was a good amount of meat and the produce seemed fresh. I only ate half my meal and took the rest home. However, by the time I got there, my leftover sandwich was a soggy mess. TIP: Leave off the oil & vinegar if you are taking your sandwich home. Or ask them to pour some in a little TOGO cup. I thought it was splendid of JM to slice the meat and cheese to order. The reality was less than perfect. Throughout the day, there is a build up of food debris on the food slicer. Red alert! How often do they clean their equipment? Also, they slice cheese and meat on the same machine. I know it's not feasible for them to clean the slicer between orders, let alone between slicing the cheese and meat for the same sandwich. So even if you don't want meat, just be aware you will still get a tiny amount if you add cheese to your sandwich. My second disappointment came when choosing bread. There are only 2 choices, white or wheat. At least JM's bread is more substantial than bread from S_ _ _ _y. My third disappointment was also about the bread. They couldn't toast the bread because while they had a flat top grill, they didn't have a toaster oven! While all these little miscues prevents a JM sandwich from being a must have craving, I won't be adverse to giving them another shot and checking out more of their menu. read more

I came here to have lunch with a friend after we were exploring the Farmer's Market. Italian Club Philly cheesestake Service seemed a bit disorganized,, as they had several individuals behind the counter just standing and talking, distracting the people who would be helping the customers. I explained to the girl that this was our first time to try Jersey Mikes,, and I tried to get her to tell me what she liked,, but her conversation with the other employee seemed more important. I was discouraged in that although it was NOT BUSY the server actually weighed the meat for our sandwiches (as if they had to make sure NOT to give us one slice too much meat) putting a piece on,, and taking a piece off,, to the point where they tore one slice in half to hit the exact weight. Seemed rather CHEAP to me. The girl kept asking me what I wanted on my sandwich, obviously not hearing what I was saying,, I mentioned again that this was my first time to try Jersey Mike's and I asked that she make it the normal way or the way SHE liked her sandwiches. The clerk rang up our sale,, with a small drink each,, I had to ask for the Lunch Special,, chips and medium drink,, because she had hit the total key,, she had to void our transaction and re-ring the sale. She called for a manager and WOW this manager was one of the individuals just talking and distracting the other employees. $22 for sandwiches for two - nothing exciting - seemed rather expensive Sandwiches were GOOD, Bread was a great texture,, but the whole experience seemed awkward and unwelcoming. sorry I could not give Jersey Mikes a better star rating. We have only just started going here because we just can't stand the plastic taste of subway anymore, and both times we have been to Jersey Mikes Danville we have been highly satisfied! I hadn't been to a Jersey Mike's since I lived in Pittsburgh, PA. That was many moons ago. So when I saw one in Danville, i was really excited to try it. I finally got my chance this week. The store is clean and bright. The staff is super friendly. And, most importantly, they make a great sandwich. I am partial to the roast beef, but I've never been unhappy with any of the other choices. Have it Mike's style, but be sure to ask them to go light on the oil. I made a mess with my sandwich, mostly because of the oil and wayward bit of lettuce. Still, everything in it was fresh from the meat to the veggies to the bread. Portions are good too. They give you enough to be more than filling. This location is particularly convenient because there is a large public lot right behind it and street parking out front. It was definitely worth the visit and I'm sure I will pop in again sometime soon. read more

Bought my first sub-sandwich and was pleasantly surprised. I went for the world famous (as the employee stated) original Italian "Mikes Way". Mikes way includes the kitchen sink- BTW ;) It was filled with all of the various delicious Italian cold cuts (my favorite). This used to be the old Baskin-Robbins ice cream parlour (an old Danville landmark). The remodel is very nice with inside and outside dining and a TV tuned into sports (just wish they would turn up the sound a tad so you can at least hear the game somewhat). The staff is polite and in learning mode, but pile on the ingredients for each sandwich. This is Subway on steroids, plus all the deli meat is fresh cut on the spot unlike proceesed Subway meat....ack! I decided to come in here today on the way home from Dublin to pacheco and got the American Classic for myself, and the Regular Big chicken Kahuna with No peppers for my boyfriend. When I got the sandwiches and went home and opened his we saw peppers on it. I thought that when I said no peppers it ment all the peppers that came on that sandwich would be OFF, but we found sweet peppers on it... So he ended up giving HIS sandwich to his roomate! This has happened more than once. Maybe I wasn't being specific enough. Maybe next time I will watch the cook like a hawk and make sure they do it correctly. It's my first time here and I must say, the staff is excellent! Especially the lead woman!! She seems to be the manager or someone with authority. She had amazing customer service: greeted all customers, genuinely seem interested in helping each customer, acknowledged the customers when they couldn't be helped right away, helped customers even when they didn't ask for help.
