I ordered 7 sandwiches through the the jersey mikes app. When my order gets delivered there was a missing sandwich. I called them and they already knew that we were missing a sandwich in our big order. We had already paid a delivery fee and everything. We kept being persistent about how we should not have to go pick up the sandwich ourself for their mistake. The store manager said that they would have a driver deliver it and they did. A little disappointed on their part but they made it right. I think the sandwich was free of charge. read more

My wife and I stopped in for a couple of subs this afternoon. They were busy. The subs weren't bad. The problem was the food handlers and the cashiers were one in the same. Why bother wearing plastic gloves if you are going to go over and take care of the payment at the cash register with the gloves on and then go back to making subs. This was not an isolated incident. I saw three workers with gloves taking payments at the registers with their gloves on and walk right back into the food line and back to making subs; no washy, no new gloves. Just wrong. read more

I guess I have been guilty in not posting a GOOD review for the service I've had at this location! I don't go as often as I would if there were more parking but the times that I've gone, the sandwiches were made very quickly, the staff was very pleasant and efficient and my sandwich was excellent with plenty of meat and accompaniments. It is easy to use their rewards system and I really, really like their sandwiches. I hope others who have had positive experiences will take the time to mention it and give them a pat on the back. By the way, we were there while they were efficiently putting together a huge catering order and they took a moment to pause and make our sandwiches so that we wouldn't wait for 8 other subs to be cut and put in the box. Gosh I really wanted to like this place, but from the second I walked in I could tell things weren't exactly running smoothly up front. I was greeted, not by the tall clueless cashier, but by the guy on the far side working the meat slicer! That alone was just weird even though he seemed to be the only one on top of things behind the counter. I got in line behind a lady that seemed to be placing an order for about 4 sandwiches and she was literally holding up the whole line but then I realized that was because there was only one sweet young girl making the sandwiches while another girl just stood there off to the side and watched, and waited for the One and Only girl making the sandwiches to finish and place them on a piece of paper. That was when she FINALLY began moving and wrapping up the sandwiches, otherwise, she did NOTHING but watch! The cashier was quiet, and didn't acknowledge the customers and only finally talked when he asked if that was all? He didn't ask if I needed a drink nor did he offer napkins or suggest anything more. He was useless. They seemed so disorganized and were confused about who's sandwich belonged to whom since the poor girl was getting so backed up without anyone else helping make sandwiches. They could do without the worthless cashier and the sandwich wrapper and get some actual employees that know how to keep the line moving. I was also unnerved by how many times my sandwich was picked up and touched by different people! And they weren't careful about where they were making the sandwich as they just laid the bread right on the counter and then scooted the sandwich along instead of placing it on a clean piece of paper right from the start. If they did, the sandwich wrapper girl wouldn't have a job! I also was appalled by the fact that a large tray of cooked bacon sat on the counter behind the employees without a cover to protect the bacon from dust, hair, lint etc! Disgusting! Where are the food police when you need them?!?! Overall, I won't go back there! It was even questionable if I was going to get sick or not as I was slowly eating my Tuna sandwich. This place needs to re-think how they run things behind that counter and at least try to respect the food handlers rules and laws, they make those laws for a reason! read more

I came in on opening day and am very impressed with the business. They were fully staffed with a dozen or so employees and everyone was very nice and working fast. I ordered the #44 Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak and was very satisfied. I like my subs spicy and this sub definitely delivered. First of all, let me say the restaurant was clean, food was fresh and good customer service. The problem and 2 star rating was based on the food - meats quantity on the sandwiches. I ordered 2 club sandwiches (#9's) Mike's Way on both. When we opened them at home it was really hard to find any meat, there was a very small, very thinly sliced amount on both. The cheese was sliced so THIN you could read through it, a dollar bill would be thicker. I find paying $8.95 for a sandwich a high price for hardly any meat on it, it was mostly lettuce! This was definitely not worth the price and highly disappointing at best. I am sure the employees are trained on how much to put on the sandwiches, but come on.....I feel like I was ripped off! I would love to give this place 5 stars however it needs some work. Start with the positive. JEWEL (slicing the meats & cheeses) - You're an amazing employee and a HUGE part of this team! You called out every item for your fellow employees to hear. You remember past items while working on the next order in case the cashier has any questions. You are very kind as well as a good listener. Very personable and easy to talk with. Z (cashier) - Good job! You were very sweet and eager to help. Just speak up a little! You have such a nice personality, put it on display! Walking in the dining area is nice clean. Items all seem to be stocked. Dining area is a comfortable temperature. Why just 3 stars? The two ladies between Jewel and Z need more training. The one who starts the sandwiches after Jewel slices the meat & cheese. I asked for very little oil and vinegar and the mini sandwich was basically soggy with it. To the point where I almost asked to have it remade. It was soaked! Then our next sandwich came and without even asking she started putting onions on it. I had to tell her we didn't want onions and ask for her to take them off. She asks what you want on your sandwich, you tell her, then she asks if you just want it 'Mike's way'. It seems difficult if you ask for anything other than Mike's Way. The one right next to Z that finishes your sandwich seems unhappy to be there altogether. Forgetting the hot regular size sandwiches do not come cut in half, I walked up and simply asked the cashier (Z) to please have someone cut it for me. She gladly took the sandwich and passed it to the girl next to her nicely asking her to cut it. That young ladie's reply was - No, as she pointed to the cup full of to go sets filled with plastic utensils and a napkin. Standing there, I heard and saw everything. The cashier handed me the sandwich back and just kind of looked at me not knowing what to do but I could tell she was unhappy the other employee wouldn't just cut the sandwich. I kindly accepted the sandwich back and had to personally tell the other employee to simply cut the sandwich. Then she did, as she took her time doing so. A little more training or better placement of the employees there and this place would be 5 stars. It's not out of reach, y'all are new to the neighborhood. I have been a long time Jersey Mike's customer. This was my first time to this location. I think they did a beautiful job with the space, it is very open and nice inside. We asked the lady helping us if they have gluten free bread options, which they do. It is prepared in the back with separate utensils! My wife has celiac and this isn't a diet choice for her. It is great to have that option here because a lot of resturants don't understand about contamination and happy we can come here and not have to worry! I've been to the Jersey Mike's a handful of times now since it's opened. I've gotten lucky and have come when it's not been very busy. The place is always clean and the service has been friendly. I've never had a problem with the quality of my food. I have had to repeat myself a couple of times as I think most of the workers are young and are not thoroughly listening as I am placing my order. The music is slightly loud and the station is quite inappropriate for all ages. I would recommend a different station. read more

I don't usually do reviews but I have ordered from this Jersey Mike's the past two days in a row, same order both days. I'm pregnant and this has been one of the few things I can stomach, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to whomever is making the subs in the afternoon, both orders (off of Uber eats) have been perfect, followed notes on the order and has been the best subs I have had in a long time. First time at this location, ,(used to be Allen's Florist) and probably the last. First of all its way too inconvenient getting to entrance from parking lot and the crew of young people serving and taking orders are very Curt and impolite The first young man asked me what kind of roll I wanted after mumbling off 4 or 5 different ones. I said I just wanted an Italian roll and thought I'd,get the nice French crusty one I saw right there, he gives me this pasty, white one and never asking if I'd like it toasted. I guess it's my fault as I'd never been to a Jersey Mike's before, I'd heard rave reviews from others and I just assumed, yes I know,never assume, that it would be on same level as other Sub shops. I just left this location and had a very unpleasant experience. I went in for the first time with my son and orders two sandwiches one being advertised by picture as a new sandwich; the portabella mushroom. I thought this was a Philly so I ordered it as a portabella mushroom Philly. The young lady behind the counter repeated it back to me but said portabella mushroom Swiss. I said yes, not realizing we were talking about two different sandwiches. I paid for my order and left. Upon eating a couple of bites of my sandwich I realized there was no meat so I took it back and explained to the young gentleman in the front that it didn't have meat. He explained that they were two different sandwiches but no problem they would remake for me. I went to go wait for the remake when the young lady I initially ordered with came to me and repeated back what I wanted and let me know I made a mistake. I told her well I believe we both did because I said Philly at the end of the name of the sandwich and you didn't correct me you just said Swiss, I assumed we were talking about the same thing. She then told me I would have to pay for a new sandwich because it was my mistake and not theirs. I was very calm and polite with her and let her know that it was both of our mistake and I was already told it would be remade and that it was no problem. She let me know that she is the shift lead and that employee spoke out of turn. I let her know that being that it was on the both of us I did not want to pay again. She reluctantly said she would remake. I thanked her and waited. In that time I had to customers come to me and remark on how rude she was. She then from near the grills raised her voice to tell me it would not have mushroom because it doesn't come with them. I just said that ok, because I didn't want to make more of a fuss, though clearly I wanted mushrooms. I had several people look at me like this is crazy customer service. I then asked her to come over and asked her name(which I've forgotten) I asked her if she was ok because she seemed very hostile toward me. She explained that she was fine and was just making sure I understand their policy and how things work and that next time maybe we can have a better understanding(she was clearly upset) she went back ti finish's the sandwich and a customer came to me and told me of another sandwich shop that he would be going to from now on and he recommend me go there as well. An employee a young man (curly hair mixed) mouthed I'm sorry to me. She then placed a customers sandwich out and called his order and walked away(clearly upset). He got his food and walked away and said to me wow the customer service here is horrible. Another customer then chimed in and said yeah this is crazy maybe she's having a bad day. I said yeah when it's this many customers seeing an issue it's definitely the employee. A young man behind the counter (white male, tall brown hair) chimed in and said she just trying to do her job ma'am. At which point I replied yes and I work in customer service there is a right and wrong way to a job. She came and placed my food on the counter repeated my order back and said to have a nice day. I told her I hope she does as well and I left with one customer still shaking his head at the exchange. I'm sorry this was so long but I found this experience to be so awful and I have lost my appetite now. I went in a 4:15 on Thursday Nov 3rd. As a somewhat regular customer, all my sandwiches before this last one were good to great... but not this last one! I went to Jersey Mikes in La Mesa and was charged $9.23 for the same No. 7 (Mike's way) that I was charged $8.45 for the day before on Mission Gorge Road in the Von's shopping center. The staff said they charge sale's tax even for take-out, and that they had a price increase across the board the day before on all the subs. When I asked for an extra slice of provolone, they said it would be another$1.80 which I declined to do. Then the young lady, the third one on the assembly line making the sandwich, who was supposed to cut the Regular in half was too busy engaging in social conversation to even pay attention to me. The sub was as good as always but these newbies need some instruction. I won't be back even when this new Jersey Mike's is more convenient than the one on Mission Gorge Road. read more
