I love Jersey's Mike , I used to go Jersey's Mike in Downey when I know that It will be opening in LongBeach soon I was so excited! I went yesterday the store is new with 3 persons working, there were only 2 customers excluding me .I was waiting for 10 mins to get 1 sub to go ,basically all 3 persons were making subs for 1 customer!! Not a fan of this location - patronized it about 4 times and it's always something. They prioritize online orders last, so don't order online or with the app at lunch time or you will be waiting longer than usual. The turn around for the hot sandwiches is already brutal. Don't ask for anything other than the standard menu items, it comes out wrong. I've tried both online and in store to get a big kahuna sandwich on wheat bread and add lettuce. It's come out with white bread twice and once without lettuce. Not worth the wait time to correct it. Once, I paid for a giant sandwich and was only given a standard sandwich instead (half order) didn't notice til I had left the location. Came back and they made me another half of the sandwich to go with my now cold original half. Lastly, about 75% of the time there's a homeless person or two sitting just outside the door in the plaza. That's not a big deal but when they periodically come in the store and start yelling at & threatening the customers that they won't buy them sandwich, that things get interesting. Of course, the helpful staff looks the other way rather than trying to deescalate the situation. I won't be returning. read more

This location is very hidden. The young ladies working there are very nice the times I have been there. There is an older (around 45 wavy hair) heavy set lady there that leaves much to be desired. Her constant glaring and attempt make small talk needs to be coached. Not sure if she is a manager but I have been there about 5-6 times and every time I see how she treats her staff I cringe. I asked the lady employee if I can use the 25 % discount code over the phone (even though the discount code is for ordering online only). The lady employee said yes and that I can use the online discount code for order over the phone. Our phone conversation ended there *fast forward 20 minutes later* When it is times to check out the sandwich, the store employee told me that they can't take my discount code and they will not honor whatever they told me over the phone. They even admitted that it was their mistake, but they refuse to honor their words. I ended up paying full price for the sandwich. 25% is not a lot for a $10 sandwich and I have no problem paying full price for the sandwich, but you are making me feel like a fool. Lily, Sierra, and Ryan went above and beyond to help my sister and I have the perfect order -- and we were a pain. I'm keto and my sis is pregnant, so our orders were "can you do this," "can you put this on the side," "what sauces do you have," question after question. You either like or don't like Jersey Mike's sandwiches. Their bread seems fresh. If you get a cold sub, they slice the lunch meat to order. They also have numerous variations of a cheesesteak, made to order. They don't have real side orders, just chips. So it's not like a deli. If you are getting your sandwich to go, do not have it "Mike's Way" because your sandwich will be soggy within a few minutes. If you're eating the sandwich there, "Mike's Way" is fine, though I add stuff personally. They are not like Subway, where there are many ingredients to choose from. Jersey Mike's has lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, peppers, oregano, olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt and pepper. Pretty basic, but I generally like their sandwiches. Don't be fooled by posters who say a 5 1/2 inch sandwich is $14. That is false. This location has really bad parking. Only metered and that is often full. The area can be a little sketchy at night. I would have preferred to rate this 3 1/2 stars. But it's better than a 3. My favorite is the #1, which is not on the list. It's a blt; and it's good. read more

Well, I tried to give Jersey Mikes the benefit of the doubt...it was a new location, training new staff, so on and so forth. But um no. Flash forward 6 months later...the meat used to be filing, now they are slicing the meat so thin you can barely taste it. There is a food scale, but they don't use it because they know they are jipping you on the meat. Bacon is still burnt to a crisp. Is that the norm? I'm confused!!! Plus, they've raised prices due to minimum wage increases. I read other reviews from other locations. At least the manager at the Lakewood location is VERY good at responding to customer complaints. I shall patronize the Lakewood location. This location, the manager has not responded to not one complaint. First and foremost I want to say I genuinely LIKE Jersey Mike's overall. I remember trying it for the first time years ago and thought to myself wow this sandwich is really good. *Thumbs up* At this location specifically the staff is very nice, helpful and polite. HOWEVER I will say they do need to pay attention and listen carefully when someone is telling them what they would like on their sandwich. The first time they made a mistake I decided to let it slide because I do understand everybody makes mistakes at times so it was okay. But this time my mothers sandwich was missing bacon after she politely told the staff member multiple times what she wanted on her sandwich. She wasn't upset at all but she was disappointed due to the fact that she had already told the staff member what she wanted on her sandwich several times. So overall a piece of general and kind advice from me to the staff members would be : Always [ listen ] to the customers at all times and if you are unsure or may have forgot about something they wanted to add or ordered specifically on their sandwich then simply just ASK the customer again. It's better to reassure with the customer(s) rather than make a silly mistake that could have been avoided. Also mark which sandwich is who's so the customer will KNOW which sandwich is theirs.
