I like Jersey Mike's over Subway because of the ingredients. Every location I've been to have very friendly staff. I stopped at this location Sunday evening. There were a few tables of people eating but I know it was close to closing time. Two employees were at the front, neither said hello or asked what I wanted to order. I stood in line for 3-5 minutes, one of the employees told the other he was going on break. Surely the other would help me but no, he continued cleaning up and never said a word. I didn't want to wait any longer and decided to leave. Maybe the employees were super tired or just had an off night. I'll still go back again and see if the experience will be different. read more

This location is terrible. I've two sandwiches come out either wrong or undercooked. The first time was when I ordered a chicken cheesesteak. I took a bite into and the chicken was raw! This last time was today. I ordered a California chicken sandwich with no tomato or cheese, and add avocado for delivery. I get the order and TAKE A FEW BITES and there is no avocado, which is extra btw, and there's bacon. I can't eat pork. They also gave me gluten free bread which I didn't order. Also the sandwich was way too cold for it being delivered only a mile. The quality at this location sucks. There are better locations out there. read more

A few days ago at 3:00 pm, I ordered 2 sandwiches for a 5:15 pm pick up. When I got there, they hadn't started them. The ticket was hanging up, but one of the young men making the sandwiches said nobody had told him about it. So I had to wait while they made them. We nearly missed our bus. I called just now to do the same thing and was told that there was no way that they could guarantee a 5:15 pick up because that was their busy dinner time. I said that that made no sense to me because I was giving them a 2 hour notice. She said that was the store policy. If you order online, it asks for a pick up time. I'm wondering if that's the same policy used for online purchases too? Maybe you'll they'll be ready, maybe they won't. I love Jersey Mike's, but I think this policy is ridiculous. Why bother calling in a phone order or doing it online if there's no guarantee it will be ready? Please change this policy! read more

My co-workers and I have been eagerly anticipating the official grand opening of this Jersey Mike's location, considering we all wanted to give the neighboring overpriced Subway (located next to a cigarette shop - yuuuck) a run for their money. Welps, today (10/02/13) was the grand opening, so obviously - being the good Yelper that I am, I took a nice little stroll to visit the newest neighborhood sandwich shop :) Like most people, I definitely prefer Jersey Mike's over Subway - portion sizes are bigger, the meat is sliced in front of you, the bread is thicker, and the overall quality is much better. My favorite sandwich always has been and always will be the #13 - Italian cold sandwich, served Mike's Way (drenched in olive oil, vinegar, and dried Italian spices). I especially like this sandwich because it has a lot of different meats. The subs at this location are definitely consistent and tasty with all of the other JM's locations I've been to, which is definitely a positive. Now for the negatives. First, this location is located around a lot of office buildings and perhaps it was just the excitement of today's grand opening, but the shop was pretty much a freaking zoo! It took almost 20 minutes to get through the line, order my sandwich, and pay! Definitely not convenient if you're on the clock and gotta get back to the office for a meeting :( Second, my co-workers gave me a coupon for a "regular" sized sub with a minimum donation of $1 towards a local school. I guess they passed them out to businesses in the area in advance, but my husband didn't get one. Nonetheless, my husband and I decided to share a "giant" #13, hoping that we could just pay the difference for the upgrade from a regular to a giant. Unfortunately, the cashier said she couldn't honor the $1 regular sub deal + upgrade fee to a giant, so unfortunately, NEITHER of us got to take advantage of the $1 regular sub, since my hubby didn't have one of those coupons and they refused to honor the deal for either of us! A complete disappointment, if you ask me - considering they had the nerve to take my coupon, so I can't even use it again in the future. Third, the customer service is definitely lacking. I tried bringing the aforementioned situation up to the manager and he seemed a bit egotistical and defensive, noting that he has opened up 8 other JM's locations in the area, so he knows how to do business and can't honor certain deals for everyone. Ok, I sorta get that - I mean, all businesses are in the business of making money. Nonetheless, I would have appreciated it if he had been more apologetic and if he had at least offered to give me back my coupon, so I could come back in the future for a regular sub if I was to eat on my own. He claimed he couldn't give it back, though. As a consolation, he did give me and my husband two free drinks on the house, but c'mon... the least the man could have done was give me back my coupon, considering I've worked in this area for YEARS and am a long-time patron of Jersey Mike's. Fourth, this location is super small and the tiny patio area is shared by Starbucks and Flame Broiler. The former has a constant stream of loiterers who hang out there throughout the day, so I would imagine it's only going to become increasingly more difficult to find a spot to dine at. And, considering the interior of this JM's only has like, three little booths, this might be an issue for people who don't want to take their sandwiches to go. Despite the many negatives, I am glad that we now have another local sandwich shop option for lunch! :) read more

I've been coming here for years and have nothing but positive things to say, from the food to the customer service. Their sub ingredients seem much more fresh than other sandwich places such as subway. Their prices are a little higher than most but only by a couple dollars but the quality ingredients make it worth it. I came here last week and had an incident happen where I was charged for a regular size instead of a mini and when I told an employee about it over the phone, they immediately had a manager reach out to me and apologize and after I got off work to go back there, Richard, the manager, refunded me for the full amount as a courtesy for what happened. Well, I do like the flavors here over some of the other sub sandwich choices around and I always get it Mike's way. I haven't really tried any of the hot sandwiches here but I usually default to #9 with avocado which is basically a club supreme. I think some people are intimidated or just don't know how to order at a sandwich place, you know you can just ask them for customizations. I WONT EAT HERE EVER AGAIN!!! I online ordered at 10:50am. Went to the store at 11:20am. After standing there for 5min without any help I had to interrupt a customer paying to ask about my order. Came in yesterday (5/2/16) and everyone was friendly, but they failed to acknowledge the fact that my email stated I would receive a free SUB after completing the Shore points account (which I did). They also failed to add the required bacon (didn't realize this until I opened up the sandwich later) that's part of the #8 Club. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but this definitely deserves it. My boyfriend and I just spent $40 on TWO sandwiches the other day. Yes, we did order the giant sandwiches because we were splitting it between lunch and dinner for the day since we would not be home. However, I should have known to walk out the minute I started ordering, when the worker seemed annoyed we were even there. The manager was sitting 4 feet away and I really regret not taking two minutes of my time to discuss this with him at the time. Anyways, I ordered a #14 (a veggie sandwich) with no mayo and no cheese. Yes, I wanted all the veggies and yes, I still wanted it "Mike's way" with mustard (which I specified). What I got was a giant loaf of bread with a TON of shredded iceberg lettuce and oil and vinegar. I had to tell the worker to add more to the sandwich AND go back once walking out of the store front for mustard. Having worked at an actual sit down restaurant, I guess I just don't understand how you mess up a sandwich when the person is in front of you telling you what to put on it and there was no other customers in the establishment to be waited on. This being said.. if I ever feel like spending $40 on two sandwiches, which I should've just made at home for better quality honestly, I will NOT be returning to this Jersey Mike's location. I live two minutes up the street from this Long Beach location, but I would much rather drive 15 minutes to the old Cerritos location I used to go to. Let me tell you the improvements that I have noticed here in the past few months. It's cleaner, it's faster and it's still delicious. Having a large family that likes carry out, we usually order online to avoid the waiting in line. Today I only had cash, so I came into the store with an order for 5 GIANT subs. The gentleman who took my order acted like this order of 5 subs at dinner time rush was no problem. The other gentleman who took my cash and rang me up wasn't present when my order was placed but rang it up perfectly without me having to repeat it to him. Not a fan of this particular Jersey Mikes. My Husband brought me here because we passed by and he's a big JM fan. When we both bit into our sandwiches we both made the same nasty face.....the bread was old and stale/hard. He apologized and we went somewhere else to eat. A few weeks later he convinced me to go again but to the one in Downey. Entire different experience. Very fresh delicious bread! We were out running errands and drove by the Lakewood location again and we said we would give them another shot....HAD THE EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE! old nasty stale hard bread! The funny thing was the guy making our sandwiches was talking while he was making our sandwiches and said "here's ur nice soft fresh bread" when he took it out. Was he being sarcastic? When we got in the car and I took my sandwich out of the bad I could feel the hard bread in my had and I hadn't even unwrapped it yet. I put it back in the bag. Why would the guy not know? He knew. I visited this location today and the service was horrible. First, I had to scream really load in order for them to understand my order. They kept trying to get me to except two sandwiches when I was only asking for one giant. When I got to the register the cashier charged me for two sandwiches, even though the young lady kept telling him it was wrong. I was so frustrated by that time, I just walked out and paid 5 dollars more than I was supposed to pay. My wife had to go back into the store to get things worked out. Jersey Mikes happens to construct the quintessential submarine sandwich, Period! The kind you might remember from when you were a kid. You know...the kind that evokes the thought of an old Italian New York style deli? TOGOS used to be my favorite. Don't get me wrong they're good, but that was until Jersey Mikes came into town. I love 'em, There great! I find myself ordering the same one every time. The off menu California club. It's a turkey with avocado and bacon. And yes it's just a good as it sounds. Maybe even better. They may not be gourmet but it definitely is classic! I suggest getting it "Mikes Way". It's with oil and vinegar and it's so much better done that way. I have tried the Philly cheese steak sandwich and it was killer as well. I gotta say though, my fav is still the California club. I came here yesterday with my boyfriend and it was ok. The place was not busy but the lobby seemed messy. There were three guys behind the counter. They were friendly but it seemed a little disorganized and it almost felt like they were rushing to help us to be able to get back to their conversation. Everything was delicious. Ordered a mini BLT, and a giant club supreme. Everything is made quick, fresh. I ordered mine on a rosemary bun. Upon check in we received an offer free a cookie which I gladly accepted. The subs blow all other sub shops out pf the water. The only thing was the person that came to cut my friends sandwich placed both their gloves that were wet on the counter then after resting placed them on the sandwich and cut my friends sub. It's making me still want to throw up. In and Out in Palm Desert yesterday told me they dont change table rags for 30 minutes!
