So I got me a gift card for Christmas and I went down to Jersey Mike's the one by the beach since I work a few blocks down and let me just tell you right when I walked in I was greeted with smiles, happiness and a really good vibe. While my sandwich was being made I forgot who is who but one of the sandwich makers and cashier asked me if I wanted water, and really made me feel comfortable. While I'm sitting there waiting for my sandwich I'm hearing the employees in the back Val, Dan and Vince talk and you can tell that they have a good chemistry working together. Once I got my sandwich I told all of them that I appreciate their positive energy and another customer who was sitting down eating a sandwich was like you know what I agreed to. This is the type of environment I want to walk into, being taken care of, having a nice smile a vibe and just being hospitable. I've been praying for this Jersey Mike's Owner. I sure hope that things have changed there, since a year ago. I hope & pray that there are CLEARLY stated ~ easy-to-read, and understand signs on each and every one of the parking spaces there now. There needs to be a sign directly in front of each space (not just on the ground ~ that you can't see when you drive over it, especially when it's dark and raining out.) It needs to say, "Jersey Mike's ONLY ~ EVEN when Jersey Mike's is CLOSED." (If you really cared, that is what you would post.) Simple. Clear. Where we parked, there was NO sign in front of us. Ground only. It was late, dark, and raining. My prayer is...that the Owner some day, some how will get to know what this terrible experience feels like. It is scary to come out at night and have your car missing! Think about it?...you have no idea where your car went to, your important stuff is in there, you have work in the morning. All this, because there was NO sign directly in front of the parking spot, on a late, dark, rainy night. $500 ~ paid to the towing company, 2:00-3:00am getting home exhausted (and wet), scared, and angry. I haven't forgotten this incident ~ it REALLY tramatized me. Ever since this happened, my husband and I look all around to see if there is any signs about parking. We go extra, out-of- our-way to look. I'm just writing to let the Owner of this Jersey Mike's, know my thoughts. Sure, it might be your private lot... but, have you ever really stopped and thought about the trama that you have put some people through? It's been a year now, since this happened to us. We were VERY new to Oceanside ~ just discovering the town. My husband was encouraging me to try Oceanside, instead of where I work in San Clemente. So, I believe it was our first visit to a restaurant down by the ocean. I just hope things have changed there. I hope that you kicked "The Guy" out of the parking lot, that said to us, "Hey, how was your dinner? ~ Knowing full-well that he had turned us in to be towed. Food is always good here but the other day I had an issue with a third party delivery service. The delivery service was very unhelpful but the store ended up going above and beyond to fix the issue. One star just so this review can post! Stopped by this Jersey Mikes on a visit with my sister and nephews to Oceanside. As another reviewer commented, this isn't my first choice for a sub, but it was convenient with 4 hungry kids on our hands. We first walked in to an empty store, without a friendly "hello" or "welcome". Katelyn (not sure if this was her name) behind the counter took my order and without beginning to start our subs, she automatically took my sisters order. Before Katelyn could reach for the meat and cheese to begin our sandwiches, my sister apologized and changed one of the four sandwiches in her order, which Katelyn replied with an "ok" eye roll. As my order was finishing up I asked for a side of jalapeño relish, which I got the reply "sure". I paid for mine and my daughters meal, even felt the need to give a 20% tip! I waited for my relish to be served to me, which the girl (Katelyn) then started on my sisters order. I asked a second time, "may I please get a side of relish" which I got an "ok, sure", but NEVER GOT MY DANG RELISH!!! Another employee walked in the door, looks like she was in the restroom? She finished my sisters order, rang her up and for the third time I asked for my side of RELISH! Which she aggressively served up in a cup without any lid and handed to my sister. Not sure what happened to the customer service at this place!?!! But I agree with the other reviewer in saying that these girls acted as if they didn't want to be there, and we were taking up their time. As we sat and ate our sandwiches, we observed SEVERAL customers coming in, lining up, and receiving the same snotty attitude and terrible customer service. This is the last time I'll go to Jersey Mikes!!! I am beyond LIVID at this location. My husband, son and I got a sandwich at this location and decided to eat it down the street at the beach. By the time we got back, our car was towed. WTF?! This location was NOT busy at all, there were plenty of parking spots, they were closing in an hour, but yet someone there felt the need to call the tow truck on our vehicle. Absolutely ridiculous! Not only have they cost me $$ (440 to be exact), but my son needs a car seat so I had to resort to him riding in a strange car (Uber). They put my son's life at risk all for what??? I parked in a private lot and went to JM to eat and walked across the street to pick up my wine and didn't check my car as no reason to. Went back to leave and it was gone! I also had my handicap tag in it which I always do and handicap spots all taken. I can walk short distances so normally I leave open for those in wheelchairs since so few. After I ate walked across the street to pick up my wine at a Orfilas. Walked back and my car was gone! I thought it must have been stolen. I walked around trying to see if I parked somewhere other than where I thought. JM had closed so went back to Orfilas and asked them if they had any idea who to call. They didn't. I made some calls to friends to see if someone could get me. Then sat in the curb crying and a man came up and I told him and he said they probably towed it!! The towing company sits and waits for people to walk out of place of business and if they don't immediately get into car they are waiting on street to tow. I love jersey mikes but this location is SKETCHY--as you can see from other reviews they have a contract with a local towing company Pacific Towing and if you park your car in their lot they call to get your car towed for $495. The only visible sign at night in the pouring rain was 15 minute parking, I was gone for 25 and there were 20 open spots in the parking lot. Mind you- they didn't have any other cars towed, just my Tesla. I love Oceanside but this scamming behavior makes my stomach turn. Shame on you Jersey Mikes. Truly disgusting. Yay, I was so happy to find a sandwich place while on a trip to Oceanside! And guess what, you guys, they had Gluten Free bread!! Not only were they happy to accommodate by having gf bread in stock, but they were incredibly careful and put in effort to avoid cross contamination. They had the bread stored in a separate area, my sandwich was assembled on a clean and separate counter, with a clean and unused knife, etc. There was some legit training that took place at some point in time, and I am so grateful for it, and for their implementation! It was also good to see that even though this Jersey Mike's is in a prime location, their prices were the same as other locations, not inflated like some chains tend to do.
