If you want to eat here, DON'T go during the evening. Every time we go here, 2-3h before closing mind you, they are out of tomatoes, lettuce and bread. Tonight, we went at 7pm. They close at 9. They gave us the near butts of the tomatoes, wilted lettuce and weird yellow hard pickles that tasted disgusting. Tried this place based on a friend's recommended. I usually get my sandwiches from Togo's since its a bit closer to me and in a better shopping center. (By 'better shopping center' I mean one that has stores I shop at and is visible from the street.) Jersey Mike's was hard to find; it's not visible from the street. And as the saying goes, it's all about location, location, location! The food was good. It was fresh, made fast, and I actually prefer their bread to Togo's. And bonus for me: they have Mugs root beer. My only gripe is the price. What I usually get at Togo's cost me $2 more at Jersey Mike's. I really like the sandwiches BUT last time I was there a guy started my order by making two sandwiches for me and left them on the counter. He left them on the counter without putting on the toppings. There were two people behind me ordering four sandwiches and he just left my order sitting there and was waiting on people behind me. After five minutes I asked him is there any reason why you can't finish my order before going to new orders. He gave me a dirty look and refused to answer. I waited another five minutes which was ten minutes. If he'd just finished my sandwiches before waiting on other people I'd have been gone quick. That is the poorest service to not finish an order before waiting on other people. Positively idiotic and stupid service. I left because he was not planning on finishing my order. I love this place. Having said that, they have a new tipping procedure. You swipe your card and are told to "answer the question." The question on the card machine is the percentage you want to tip. When I presed no, I could see the anger in the girl's eyes as she no longer spoke to me, as she did with others that left a tip. Honestly...why would I leave a tip? I previously have worked at a jersey mikes store for two years I no longer work at that amazing store. I today walked into this jersey mikes expecting The same great service that I have given people. That was not the case. I walked in I wasn't greeted at all, the employees were only focused on the two online orders on the counter. Only after waiting about 10 minutes to be served did they ask what they can get us. me and my friend ordered very nicely. They didn't say much at all just made our sandwiches. Also they were still wearing the month of giving shirts which only happens during the month of March. It is now June 4th. I would understand if it was one employee maybe something happened you don't know, but it was every single person working. Also the store itself was not maintained the floors were dirty, all the counters looked like they hadn't been wiped off for the whole day, and the bins that hold the onions lettuce and tomatoes were not clean looking at all. The food itself was good I have no complaints about that but the service was terrible. Being someone that worked for a jersey mikes and held great honor in having good service as well as my team mates also feeling that way I was very disappointed when that was not displayed at all. Jersey Mike's has one of the best subs in the business and great customer service but that was before I went to the one in Palmdale. The customer service was the very bad. I stood in line for about 5 minutes with no one in front of me, until the younger girl asked me what I wanted. She heard my order and told anothet woman there to make it. My family really likes Jersey Mikes and asks me to go there almost once weekly. The reason I give them a two is because they seem to have a knack for hiring young girls with bad attitudes. While I'm glad they give teens an opportunity to get some work experience, I don't appreciate having to deal with an attitude just because I want bacon on my club sandwich. The club sandwich is supposed to come with bacon, but if you don't ask for it they won't give it to you and when you do ask it's like you asked them to share their paycheck with you. I'm about ready to tell the family if they want it go get it themselves because I don't want to deal with their poor customer service.
