I stopped by to grab a 6-inch pastrami sub on my way home during lunch hour. The staff took care of my order right away, which I appreciated. I did notice that some of the veggies looked a little old, so that was a bit off-putting, but I was starving and decided to go ahead with my order anyway. The sandwich itself was good. Not spectacular, but not bad either. It was filling and had a good amount of meat and veggies. The store itself was very clean and well kept, which I always appreciate as a customer. The staff was great as well, and the guy who made my sandwich was generous with the veggie portions. I'm not usually that crazy about Subway, but this location wasn't bad. Showed up to have some subway with my girl, server gave the tuna sandwich two small scoops and I asked the server about the amount he applied which was very little, he gave attitude and began saying that it was store policy and then shrugged his shoulders and turned around to place the 6" tuna sub into the micro wave. Or oven. The rest of the time dude was rude. I sat down to eat my chicken sub and the chicken was cold even though he placed it in the oven. Don't know his name but dude is dark and long hair. Update: This is an update to the review I posted earlier today. I Just Spoke to the manager and he was very nice. He will allow pickup of the correct bread. See... this is why I love this location. The End Geesh... I was trying to relive the perfect Sandwich I got the last time: Ordering in-person vs the App .... FAILED but still love this location. They did give me my Extra Meat I paid for :-) Sadly I am forced to contact the owner of this location. Why? See below We ordered on the app the pickup I ordered The Beast extra Meat ;-) The Beast: The only problem I had was: 1. Wrong Bread (I called to see what happened and the young lady told me that they did not have the bread I ordered and that the only Bread that was available was the Multigrain Bread.) Here's the problem- What if I had an allergy to Wheat, Seeds and Nuts? The bread didn't even taste Fresh is was just awful. 2. I ordered Lettus (More) and Banana Peppers (More) but I got less. In fact I got very little of the toppings which did all the meat no justice So... I asked if my son could pick up the correct Bread for me because he also ordered from there and he was on his way there from the gym. She said NO. She also said that I would need to return the sandwich. What a Headache... So much for being SIQ in bed today. My husband didn't have the energy to drive over there either. Question: Why didn't Subway just call me to notify me that they had NO BREAD AVAILABLE besides the Multigrain? Also, Sadly my husband didn't get the Extra Meat he paid for on his sandwich. Been coming to this location for many years, food and employees are great. BUT, went there today and after ordering and paying for my combo meal saw that they took out the fresh brewed Iced Tea! They roll their eyes when you ask for extra of anything and they dont even listen to the customer what they want in their sandwich. This review is based solely on Veronica. My husband and I came in around 9:20 on a Monday night and she was AMAZING from start to finish. I've never had a sandwich artist from Subway go above and beyond to help me. I wanted a chopped salad with chicken and to add a scoop of tuna. She didn't snap at any point and say "That's extra!" She weighed out my chicken which I really like. I didn't get slumped at all like I have before with the measly half of a handful I've received before. She added all my veggies and asked if I preferred things mixed together or anything added on top, dressing mixed in, etc.. I wanted avocado as well but she said they were hard and not ripe, she was willing to go search for me, but because she offered in such a kind way I told her not to even worry about it. I appreciated the fact that she even offered. From start to finish she was efficient and kind. My husband paid and she offered once again to go search for avocados for me. Usually I have a great experience eating here but last night I went in and wow...they didn't have Jalapeno Cheddar Bread which is fine, not their fault they ran out but the plain white I opted for was stale as heck and the meat, cheese, and veggies to follow weren't fresh. CONSUMER WARNING!! If you want Salmonella, order anything made with Tuna!!! They are mixing and serving the tuna fish in Stainless steel containers!!! This is a definite NO-NO!!! Any products that contain milk or milk by products (mayonnaise) should never be made or served from Stainless Steel. The acids in mayonnaise will cause a breakdown of the stainless steel causing the Salmonella bacteria to spread. The Subway Sandwich shop in the Vallarta shopping center needs customer service and a lot of work. I do understand about food cost and have and been in the Restaurant business for many years. They are cheap in there portion servings and want to charge you extra for everything when asked. Example: My mother ordered a BLT with just Cheese, Bacon. She asked the server for a couple of slices of Avocado and was charged $1.50 for a quarter of the avocado. Ridiculously a BLT bring much more than the order she placed. Would the employee's or management not have any common since not to charge her for the avocado when in fact the food cost on the BLT ordered was way less. By the same token every time we have gone there they are always out of the Broccoli Soup. I wonder who is the person in charge of ordering food for this establishment. Needs a lot of training starting with the owner's. I will not go there again.Better of going to Jersey Mikes Sandwiches on 10th street in Palmdale. read more
