Love the food here. I always try something new and am never disappointed. The chicken is always perfectly cooked. I love the roasted cauliflower side. The falafel is always fresh and very good too. The staff is always so helpful and kind, and often throw in little extras.

Really enjoyed the original chicken (1/2) stuffed with rice, ground beef and mushrooms. Chose the cauliflower and eggplant (surprisingly fried and yummy) and hummus sides. The chicken is swimming in sauce (very tasty) but be warned, it's messy! Didn't love the chicken pita sandwich. The chicken itself was very dry and the hummus and banana peppers made everything soggy. (See photo). Easy free parking out front (in the street), and in the mini mall itself.

Not surprised they were voted one of the best dishes of 2023!

AMAZING Palestinian halal food!!! I grew up eating my best friend's mom's Middle Eastern (Egyptian) cooking and everything I had here reminded me of her flavorful, comforting dishes. My friends and I had no idea Jerusalem Chicken existed until we parked right in front of it to go to another restaurant. The sign and aroma wafting from the door snagged our attention. Since we were a little early for our reservation, we took a peak inside to check out what this place has. They specialize in making the juiciest chicken I have ever sunk my teeth into, along with Middle Eastern sides such as tabouleh, hummus, falafel, cauliflower salad, kubbah, sumac fries, fried eggplant, Jerusalem rice and pita. I got the Original Chicken plate to go for $21.99, which comes with a half baked chicken stuffed with rice, mushroom and ground beef with a choice of two sides. I opted for the cauliflower salad and spicy hummus. As soon as I pierced my fork into the crispy skin, juice bursted out and the meat was so tender and flavorful in an outstanding lemon garlic sauce. The cauliflower salad was mixed with garbanzo beans, zucchini and onion and was roasted and seasoned to perfection. The spicy hummus was smooth and the spiciest I've ever had aside from the spicy hummus I make. The pita bread came right out of the oven and was thick and fluffy. Not a whole lot of ambience here. It's more of a fast food set up where you order at the cash register and pick what you want by seeing what's available. So happy I stumbled upon this place and wish it was closer to me. I'd be here all the time!

Great local Palestinian halal food in LA!! I feel like this place is comparable to Sababa in Anaheim. I got the chicken shawerma pita and it was fantastic. There were plenty of seats outside and inside and the service was fast and fresh. The pita was super filled, I got everything in it and loved the chicken, spicy hummus, and the pickles. I want to come back and try the bowls as well and they actually have a ton of menu items so I'll be interesting in trying it out. Love how its Palestinian and the logo has a keffiyah on it. It has its own parking lot so parking is free, but if it gets busy I'm sure it can fill up. Came with my friends and one of them got a beef shawerma bowl and the other got the lemon garlic chicken plate and it looked really good! The only negative is that it is quite pricey

    It's nice eating outside here

Wahhh flavors with heft (the bag), they give to your taste buds and stomach. This is one of my favorite places west of Downtown or toward Inglewood. They give you a good amount of food for the price, puts fast food to shame. For $20-22, you get two sides, half a chicken with rice, bread, and choice of two sauces/dips. The stuffed chicken is very juicy and the bread absorb the juice nicely. I like the mushroom and ground beef infused with the rice inside the chicken, it taste very well together. The lemon chicken can be a bit dry when you get it near closing but it's so good that I don't mind. Very savory and tangy, it's hard to stop eating. I really like their potato salad, it's not mayo-based, but a vinaigrette-like taste with flat leaf parsley. A great palate cleanser with a light taste, it keeps every bite of chicken refreshing. The spicy hummus has a nice roasted mild spicy twist to it, highly recommended. The regular hummus is just as good, creamy and thick. The eggplant is pretty good with a deep roasted nutty flavor but it can be a bit oily (taste like olive oil so I'm not complaining). Roasted onions and potatoes is a good alternative to potato salad. They taste opposite of each other, where the roasted one tastes like a home oven-roasted side. The cauliflower fritters are great! Very tasty and goes well with their sauces. The mint drink is also very refreshing, goes well with their baklava. I like all the sides here, just down to personal preference. I would recommend getting contrasting sides like a salad/pickled one versus a roasted/fried one to balance the taste. I get this every time in near LAX or SoFi stadium, the family workers are very nice and accommodating (like letting us have both hummus). The inside is cozy but small, however it's perfect to eat right outside at the public tables (area is clean).

When my boyfriend and I were craving some Palestinian food, we took to Uber Eats to see if there were any near by, luckily there was! We both ordered the lemon + garlic chicken with rice combo with different sides, however everything was exquisite! The chicken? Juicy with the rice amount of seasoning. The rice? Happiness in every grain. The salata? Amazing. The spicy hummus? Hmm don't even get me started on the hummus. So yummy! No, seriously, soooooo freaking good! Everything on that plate had FLAVOR! If you're in the area, or if you stumble upon it online, please do yourself a favor and order from Jerusalem Chicken. You won't be disappointed :)

This place has lovely Middle Eastern food. It's located in a strip mall with ample parking. I ordered the lemon herb chicken with a chicken roll and hummus. My total was 20 dollars and I received half a chicken! It came with the 2 sides but they have a variety of sides to choose from. Chicken is bold, tender, seasoned and cooked perfectly. I love the sauces and spices used. I appreciate the flavor profile. My hummus was yum and the chicken roll was nice. It also came with rice. This meal is very filling. You can split between 2 people because they give you a lot. Service was friendly, respectful and kind. I will come again and try other things on their menu. This was definitely a win for me.

This is a great chicken spot. Hummus was delicious - try the spicy one for a real kick. Chicken perfectly cooked and seasoned. The cauliflower fritters and the dipping sauce was a perfect side, everything was a 10/10. Service was speedy even with a line and everyone was so nice!

Given that sunset was scheduled for 7:00pm the day we went, we wanted to have a nice view of the beach/pier as we enjoyed our dinner. Around 6:30pm we were both surprised by their Sunset dancers. Two beautiful ladies with feather fans danced around the restaurant. It was such a fun surprise. We were seated near the DJ in a booth facing the coast. We each had two drinks. I had the Oracle of Siwa and the Gold Coast (both NA). The GC was marketed to me as being the sweeter of the two, but it was really tart. It tasted like an Arnold Palmer. The OS was supposedly more citrus forward and tart. It definitely was citrus forward but NOT tart. My partner had their old fashioned, one the best he says he has had. He also had their King of Kings, and although it was garnished with a lovely truffle he preferred the old fashioned. We then had the following: Baba Ghanoush, the Grilled Octopus, the Kampachi (which was the market special) with both the Egyptian and the Greek Dressing, and the Asparagus. Everything was sooo flavorful and fresh. It was a great meal. The fish was already so dressed that adding the sauces felt a bit unnecessary, and between the two flavors the Greek dressing was much more to our liking than the Egyptian sauce. Overall this was a great experience, they also offer parking validation if you dine in. Our service was impeccable and the servers were so nice and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Seriously. Places should send their people to watch her work. She is the best I have encountered. My buddy was taking me out for my birthday and our reservation (which was somewhere else TBH got cancelled due to a kitchen issue). He suggested Orla, and being a big Michael Mina fan I was in. The restaurant is big but typical for a hotel spot, but it has a warmth to it. A lot of that is due to being greeted by Pia, escorted to your table, and getting a wonderful history of the restaurant, chef, menu and drinks. As the day turns into night, we were treated to a gong and some dancers. Nice touch. And then the food and drinks! Forgot to take a pic of the cocktail menu, so I cannot recall what we had exactly, but both were exceptional, especially the one made tableside (Porus I think, with ocho plata tequila, aperol strawberry, grapefruit and butterfly tea in a tableside infusion) I think I had the Son of Amun with yola mezcal, apricot, ginger, lemon and miracle foamer. Expensive? Yes, but delicious. I looked online for the menu, but it seemed different when we were there. Pia suggested a half and half on spreads since we were indecisive, and that was a great call. Half Whipped Chickpea Hummus with tahini, paprika, za'atar, extra virgin olive oil and half Muhammara with toasted walnuts, roasted peppers, pomegranate molasses. Both were phenomenal but know extra pita comes with a charge. There is homemade chili crisp on the table that you might be tempted to drink. It's that good. We started with Grilled Octopus with gigante beans, red onions, capers, sea beans. Perfection in flavor and texture. The Saganaki finished tableside came with roasted wild mushrooms, black truffle honey, greek brandy and was some of the best I've add. Wish that recipe was in the book, but I will figure it out. For the mains I went with the Mediterranean Sea Bass and my buddy had the Swordfish... both the Greek Way with lemon, caper, oregano, vinaigrette. The Sea Bass was cooked to perfection and one of the best I have had. After all that food we were way too stuffed for dessert, but Pia made sure to end the meal with a birthday gift for me. Wow. Did I mention how good she is? Now I need to come back and have Michael sign my cookbook... and tell me how to make that Saganaki. Thank you to Pia and the whole staff. What a great B-day dinner!

Bavel has been at the top of our list of places we've all wanted to try, so we were very excited to finally make it happen. Walking in, the space is beautiful and feels very elevated while still having that open-concept feel. There are cute plants and vines hanging from the ceiling and an open kitchen where you can see everything happening. The lighting was interesting though. Our table was lit very brightly, while some of the other tables looked much more dimly lit and intimate. Our server was great, and the sommelier was wonderful as well. We went with wine pairings throughout our meal, starting with a splash of sparkling white wine. HUMMUS DUCK 'NDUJA (tahini, parsley, cilantro, sumac, blistered pita)10/10. This was DELICIOUS. The texture and flavors were everything. SILKY smooth hummus with that fatty, deep flavor from the duck 'nduja. My goodness, I would like to drink it. The warm pita that came with it was pillowy soft and perfect for scooping everything up. Amazing dish. I would order this every single time, hands down. DRY AGED TROUT CRUDO (coconut citrus broth, charred chill & onion, mandarinquat, turmeric ginger oil, kaffir lime) 8/10. Crudo was yummy with the coconut citrus sauce. Tangy, a little sweet, herby, zesty, with the fattiness of the fish. But I didn't taste anything especially different even if it was dry aged. ROASTED CAULIFLOWER (vegetable curry sauce, rose pickled beets, garam masala, horseradish, cilantro)7.5/10. This dish was good, but nothing spectacular compared to everything else we had. The flavors were there, but overall it tasted a little more muted in comparison to the rest of the meal. GRILLED OCTOPUS (skordalia potatoes, broccoli, lamb XO, dill, lemon, olive oil)9/10. Loved! SO TENDER. I've had plenty of octopus that ends up chewy or overcooked, so I really appreciated how perfectly this was cooked. ROMANO BEAN TEMPURA (cashew cardamom cream, tomato date chutney, black garlic aioli, smoked habanero)8/10. The sauces were SO good with the tempura beans. The batter was very light and crispy, while the beans themselves were cooked until just tender enough. Such a good bite in terms of both texture and flavor. SLOW ROASTED LAMB NECK SHAWARMA (tahini, ajika, pickled vegetables, carob molasses, laffa)10/10. AMAZING DISH. The meat literally fell off the bone. I already love the flavor of lamb, and this one was just chef's kiss. The tangy pickled vegetables paired with the rich lamb and tahini worked so well together and made for the perfect bite. 10/10 would recommend if you like lamb and have people to share it with! 22OZ BONELESS MARGARET RIVER RIBEYE (fermented mushroom cream, marinated cucumbers, dill)9.5/10. This was cooked SO WELL. The fermented mushroom cream was an amazing sauce to pair with the steak. There are a lot of rich, fatty elements here, so the marinated cucumbers were perfect for breaking everything up and balancing the bite. One of my biggest takeaways from the entire meal: DO NOT SKIP THE SAUCES. Every sauce, condiment, and side that came with the dishes felt intentional and elevated the flavors exponentially. 10/10 sauce situation going on at Bavel. For dessert: STRAWBERRY SUMAC & SWEET CHEESE PASTRY (pistachio ice cream, sheep's milk ricotta, cured sumac)9/10. I'm not a huge sweets person, but this really hit the spot. I do love a good pastry, and the ricotta was just sweet enough without being too sweet, which in my eyes makes for a perfect dessert. NOUGAT ICE CREAM BAR (dark pecan caramel, chocolate butter cake, chocolate shell)9/10. Another great dessert. Loved the chocolate, the deep caramel flavor, and the nuttiness from the pecan. Great textures too, although the chocolate shell made it a little difficult to cut and share! Honestly, I want to come back just for the hummus. Everything was delicious, the wine pairings were great, portions were generous enough for sharing, and the service was wonderful. Bavel is such a lovely spot for an elevated dining experience, whether you're coming with a group or for a date night. Loved our experience here. Thanks for a great meal, Bavel!

the good: mushroom kebab was nicely seared with crisp edges (waiter suggested a pistachio sauce…read morerather than cream); the pinkish trout was pretty much a cebiche in a coconut-type marinade. didn't try the salad nor the pâté, but sitting at the counter watched both being made and they seemed appealing. the mediocre: the shawarma is the most written-about item. it's a sizeable lump of very fatty meat, and treated as such--more akin to the most gelatinous cut brisket or pastrami than to shawarma. ok, but not keen to eat this again. the bad: mostly the price...ok, it's not street shawarma or cebiche, so one would certainly pay far more in for the restaurant versions. but this is now about double even the inflated pricing. the place is hopping with a mostly younger crowd and just enough tourists to keep it filled...

Chicken and some meat over rice with hummus. Some pita. Flavors really good. Meats seasoned perfectly. Rice cooked well. Love the pita. Garlic sauce is bomb. Also have a spicy sauce that I really really liked. I will definitely be back again and again.

I will be coming back and a possible frequent flyer now. Everyone worked so hard and was hospitable. My recommendations: go with the chicken kabob plates over the shawarma -- the shawarma's are still very good but the kabob is so unique and out of this world. You'll understand what I mean when I rank them so highly. We had one plate with shawarma and fries that was 10/10. Fries were perfectly made even 10 minutes before closing. I ordered the chicken kabob plate with extra salad instead of rice or fries. The hummus is my top 5 in LA. I'm so glad I got to randomly try this after having an itch for Arabic food. Because I told one of the workers how delicious and unreal it was... they gave me a free baklava and refused to let us walk out without it.

When I went to order at the counter, the staff said we could sit and they were serve us, which I wasn't expecting at all! I really appreciate they that have both the fast-casual order style and the sit down and enjoy style duality to this restaurant. I got the chai latte and a hummus bowl with falafel (though as I write this I can't remember if that was the actual menu name of the dish). It was delicious--the falafel was one of the best I've ever had taste wise, and a bit on the airy side instead of being super dense, which I appreciated. Sometimes falafel is too dang dry, and they really got it right. The hummus was phenomenal. I'm really such a sucker for a good, quality hummus and it was so creamy and the oil they topped it with was wonderful too. The veggies were fresh and the pita was such a star: it was thick and chewy and clearly freshly made. Immediate 5 star for the food. So glad I stopped by here and will definitely be back!

What a great kick off! As for our mains, we both ordered a variation of the combo plates. I had the chicken tawook and beef. The Mrs. had the chicken and lamb. All good. Based on the food alone, we would recommend this place to anyone with a beating heart and more importantly, a mouth. This is quality food at a quality price. The atmosphere? Really great. It's a little dark and twinkly inside which sets a nice tone. There is cool artwork adorning every piece of wall, the place is very easy on the eyes...including the restrooms. Very clean. Our sever, didn't catch his name, but what a nice dude. Was super helpful without being "too much" he should teach a server class. He's pretty much who you want taking care of your table. He knew the menu well and made great suggestions. It was actually refreshing. We will come back, most likely with the family. Our waiter told us that they can accommodate larger groups which is great. I recently ate food at Saffy's and I didn't enjoy it one bit. The servings there are too small, too pretentious and too overpriced. Open Sesame is the exact opposite and that's why it rules. A wonderful experience in Beverly Boulevard.
