Since my wife and I were in the area, we decided to come try this amazing coffee shop! Their coffee flight for $20 is an awesome way to try out their yummy lattes. We got the Dirty Horchata, Vanilla con Canela, and Mazapan lattes, as well as the Cloud of Honey cold brew latte! The flight was probably around the equivalent of ordering two full size lattes, and these four were delicious! We loved the drinks so much we ordered two more after we finished our flight! I got the Spring special Cherry with Mocha latte, and my wife got a full size of their amazing Cloud of Honey cold brew. The staff was lovely and super helpful! It was obvious they enjoyed creating these tasty caffeinated creations. I went to a bridal shower recently where Jesse's Grind was providing coffee service. They had a lot of offerings and the coffee was fantastic, but the best part was their service. A bartender had also been hired for the event, but did not show up. The team from Jesse's Grind volunteered to serve as bartenders as well as baristas, and made martinis, margaritas, and a few other drinks for the party (which had 40 guests). They went above and beyond to say the least. They were really and truly incredible!! read more

I use a coffee shop's batch brew as a litmus test. The batch brew here tasted over-roasted and "ashy" the way I expect Starbucks to taste, but at the same time under-extracted and thin. Would expect better coffee from a coffee bar. They seem to be more geared towards sweet-tooths and latte-lovers. read more

The dirty oatchatta is to die for! I drive 25 minutes out of the way to come here just for some really great coffee with actual parking options, and I have no regrets. I've tried the honey cold brew latte, but it was too strong for me. I prefer the sweeter, milkier drinks. There are plenty of specials and seasonal drinks, so there's something for everyone's palate. Ask for recommendations if you need them! The staff are great, the shop is adorable and new, and the pastries are aplenty. I believe I was told that some of the pastries are from Homeboy Industries, as well, which is a great cause to support. I personally recommend the cookies. read more

My co worker recommended me this place months ago and I've been there every saturday to say the least. Their regular hot coffee is so good and strong, their latte's are pretty average (i'm more of a strong coffee type of gal) but my favorite is their new Cold Brew with oatmilk and honey foam. Also, their banana bread?! I'm OBSESSSSSED. Love that they have good portion size breakfast options as well! Cannot recommend enough. read more

I'm not sure what happened. When I 1st started coming here customer service was great and the coffee was good. Recently it's not been as great and I'm not sure if it's been an unlucky few times or a new trend. I come by on my days off and love to frequent mom and pop shops. Once I got a Spanish latte and whoever made my drink doused it with condensed milk. I gagged and tossed the whole drink out. $8 gone. I always grab and go so by the time I try my drink it's too late to turn back. Another time I got it hot. I was 1st in line and it seemed no one else was waiting for a drink. I waited close to 15 minutes to get my drink- no exaggeration. It seems they were making online orders but those people were not in the store. From a customer service perspective you typically should prioritize the people that are physically in the store waiting 1st rather than an online order. I ran out once I got my drink and after a few minutes I took a sip and it was scalding hot I burned my lip! When milk is heated so hot, it doesn't taste so great and not to mention not that safe. 2 drinks down the drain. I'm a little irritated by my last few visits and don't think I'll be coming back soon. Maybe they hired new help? Either way from wait times to poorly executed drinks is disappointing when I barely have free time as is and I pay for something that doesn't come out right. read more

So I tried this coffee shop earlier today and was it amazing. The staff were incredibly kind, patient, supportive, attentive, and friendly. The drinks are amazing, like the Mazapan latté and so many options to personalize your drink. The baked goods are sooo delicious and from homeboy bakery so that's a plus too! My partner had the lavender honey latte which she said was not only delicious but made her feel energized throughout the whole day. I went my first time on Saturday and wanted to try due to all the great reviews. Sadly, I waited for my drink for about 20-25 mins. Other people behind me were getting their drinks before me and it was due to refilling the expresso machine (what I was told). I'd give Jesse six stars if I could! This is my new go-to coffee place. So happy to have a great alternative that is open early (6:30 am!) so that I can hit it on the way to work (2.5 miles away). I did not wait to hear if I got into the Yelp elite perk...I wanted an excuse to head out here before that. So, I arrived on a weekend morning, early, to get my caffeine on! Go big or go home... I got their 4 drink FLIGHT for $20 (Yelp check in discount applied!) Also got the jalapeño croissant... I hung out for awhile, drinking my lovely choices and soaking in the chill vibe. All of my choices were winners: BlackBerry Latte (iced), Rose Latte (iced), Dirty Horchata (hot) and the Mazapan Latte (hot). I would order any of these again as well as the jalapeño croissant. The subtle humor in the restroom is hilarious, FYI... On another occasion, I came back for the Mexican Christmas Punch, served hot! So special...so delicioso! It was a beautiful cold, rainy day when I entered into Jesse's for the first time. Nansi greeted me cheerily. I selected hot chocolate latte with toasted marshmallows. Nansi described the latte then asked if I wanted the latte, or was I in a mood for a straight up hot chocolate experience, cuz it was all rainy and cold out? I said, 'Yes! You so get me! I want straight up hot cocoa with mallows!' THEN she took it a step further: Did I want regular, or Mexican cocoa? OMG!!!! I LOVE the lightly spicy flavors of Mexican cocoa so, HELL YEAH! Make me that delight! Wait, one last clarification: Did I want whole milk, or a substitute? I wanted the whole fat, full lactose tolerant experience, please. She passed my order over to barista, Angelina. While I waited I took a look around and admired this cute café. There was a framed article from Fall 2021, an interview with Jessica Santana, owner of Jesse's Grind. It was nice to learn about her roots and how the business came into existence. When you drop by, take a moment to read it. One of the MANY cool aspects about Jesse's is it feels like a neighborhood coffee shop, like home base. They support local artists and handmade goods are available for purchase. AND they support Homeboy Industries by selling their delivered daily baked goods. Also, I overheard Nansi with the next customer discussing the milk alternatives. Honestly, I've never heard anyone discuss them beyond saying, 'We have them, which do you want,' but they were discussing the differences, how sensitivities are triggered by gluten, or soy, in comparison to lactose. Wow! These gals are REALLY knowledgeable about what they are offering their customers. AND, judging off the menu, they don't charge more if you select a milk alternative. Angelina served up my cocoa super hot, super delicious, and with another cheerful, 'Enjoy!' It was absolutely perfect! The marshmallows melted just enough to sweeten each sip and the spices were as I remembered them tasting when I first enjoyed Mexican Cocoa in Mexico City decades ago. Light, just a hint of cinnamon, vanilla and chili powder(?), cayenne(?), can't tell, but that's part of the "specialness" of this cocoa, the mix of spices are a recipe, usually blended ahead so they have time to meld. Not just sprinkled on top as a design. But palates vary. So recipes vary. I really enjoyed Jesse's recipe made here. Again, perfect. I give 5 stars when I truly look forward to returning to a happy experience, the staff delivers well above what I expect, value is received, product exceeds satisfaction and I'm still thinking about the experience days after. Just before typing this review I had told my hubby I am planning to return to Jesse's this week because I REALLY want that cocoa again! I'm not a cafecito consumer, but if Jesse's grinds are anything like her cocoa, I KNOW they taste waaay better, fresher, more happily made then anything commercial coffee chains have. Yes, you'll HAVE to park your car(in one of many car spaces outside) and actually HAVE to walk in(or Grub Hub, if you prefer), BUUUUT, you'll be supporting a Latina owned, community connected, dream inspired business, serving Latin influenced cafecitos and the BEST Mexican cocoa with marshmallows outside of Mexico City. this has to be one of my new favorite coffee spots in the west valley! The prices are very affordable and the coffee is SO good. I ordered one of their Christmas/seasonal drinks and it was really yummy. They had a great menu with lots of different coffee flavors that will keep me coming back to try more! Jessie's has become a weekly stop for me. I tried it for the first time late one afternoon hoping to grab a light snack/ really anything from their baked good case as I skipped lunch, but knew they stopped serving food at 12. Before they had designated cups for iced drinks. The past two times I've gone they give you an iced coffee in a smaller cup which clearly states "careful contents are hot". You pay almost 8 dollars for a drink in to get a smaller cup that is meant for hot drinks. I did a mobile order and the website said ready within 15 minutes prior to ordering. Once order was placed it was 45 minutes out. I was there already and asked if it could be ready a little earlier, they said no they can only go by the sticker time and they wouldn't cancel my order. The warmed cookies I ordered were out in less than 10 minutes but not the drink, the cookies were so greasy my kids didn't even eat it. Customer service has gone down a lot in the past few months. The lemonade was 4 dollars and it was a tiny cup, it was supposed to be strawberry lemonade but it didn't taste like strawberries at all. read more

I can't help revisiting this spot for their Abuelita Latte, which screams Christmas to me! It's a caffeinated take on a Mexican Hot Chocolate, with mocha, notes of cinnamon, espresso, and steamed milk. It's soooo good! I also really appreciate that their pastry case features items curated from Home Boy Industries, which if you're not familiar, is a non-profit started in LA to help formerly incarcerated and gang-involved folks learn job skills, remove gang/prison tattoos, and more! It's a really great cause, and I appreciate supporting a business that partners with such an awesome organization! They also have cute plants and gifts for sale inside, and a Latina Elf on the Shelf (because representation matters!) that they've been moving around their cafe for the month.
