This place absolutely hits the spot, especially on a cold day. The broth is sooo rich and flavorful and they are super generous with the toppings + meat!! My fav was the supreme fish maw and chicken one The broth just had jaw dropping flavor - it was addicting! I will say I came here twice since it opened, and the second time I came, the broth was not as flavorful as it was the first time. But the value is pretty good - $17 for a giant bowl. The food is good here! My husband and I have ordered 3x from here since it opened. The broth are very tasty and our favorite dish is the assorted beef dry noodle with Sichuan sauce and I do like the fish with silken tofu noodle soup. The order comes out fast and I'd mostly would come back. However, service is ok. There's a very nice guy in the front when you give your order but I think there's a language barrier. Also, I've encountered a language barrier over the phone before and received the wrong order. The iPad that they take orders on also is in Chinese so I've had a small issue trying to pay by card. The food was pretty decent and the service in the restaurant was good. However, I had a very concerning experience. I notified the waiter about my severe peanut allergy, and my dish was served without peanuts as requested. But when I got home and opened the leftovers I had packed, I found the exact same dish filled with at least 30 peanuts. I know for certain that there were no peanuts in the portion I ate at the restaurant, and it couldn't have been my friend's food since they ordered something different. This makes me question whether I was mistakenly given another customer's leftovers, which would be both extremely unsanitary and incredibly dangerous given my allergy. While I appreciate the service and the meal itself, this experience left me very unsettled and concerned about food safety practices. read more

We did a chicken broth and the no 1 fish and chicken broth and a bunch of appetizers. This is straight out of Taiwan. It doesn't get more authentic than this. We ordered the Supreme Fish Maw Chicken Soup Rice Noodles, Tomato Soup Beef Slices Rice Noodle, Sauerkraut Soup Beef Brisket Rice Noodle, and the Crispy Chicken Wrap. The broth for all 3 soups is incredible. It's super rich and flavorful. The beef/chicken in the soups were super tender and there's also a lot of veggies in each bowl. The crispy chicken wrap is an amazing appetizer and such a unique starter. Staff was very helpful, food came out in about 10 minutes. I've been here before when they first opened and it wasn't very good. I happen to be in the area and the restaurant was comfortable and spacious, and menu has expanded so I decided to give them another try. The servers were attentive and ultra polite. We ordered the Fish Soup Rice Noodle with fresh mushrooms and fish slices and the Ji's Fish Maw Soup Rice Noodles. Both soups for border-lining too salty, but was still delicious. I guess I would rather have over-seasoned then under-seasoned. The fish soup was far superior than chicken soup, the chicken soup was oilier and reminded me too much of chicken bouillon, while the fish soup tasted fresh and clean. The noodles were also well cooked. The fish maw and fish slices were both really well cooked in both bowls. They were pretty big bowls, so the next time I go, I will definitely get one noodle soup to share and try another one of their dishes. I think I will get the fish soup with fish slices and add additional fish maw on the side. read more

I stopped by the restaurant with my nephew in June while visiting my cousin. I found it hard to find a good soup restaurant having been spoiled by the great Chinese food in Toronto, Canada. I ordered the Jai's Fish maw soup without the chicken. My nephew order Maw soup with brisket. After about 10 minutes our soups arrived. They both arrived in a wooden cradles with a warning from the waiter to be careful because it was very hot! The bowls of soup were very large and piping hot. They arrived with chop sticks and a ladle to eat it with. Aldo a sm sad bowl. It was full of lovely noodles, shrimps, several mussels and several slices of fish. The broth was full of umami and nicely spicy, just the way I like it. Every morsel of it was perfect. I have not had such a good soup in a long time. And at the end, the bill for two soups was only around $40.00. I have been looking for this recipe ever since. I would love to make one like that myself. Can't wait to visit the place again.
