The manager,Travis, as well as his staff, are a credit to Jiffy Lube: they are all very courteous and professional. When I went in again a week after my oil change, not only did Travis remember the customer and the problem, but even went out on a limb to recommend another location for a simple repair. What really blew me away was when he offered to top off the fluids at no charge. I know thus is a service that Jiffy Lube offers, but it is the first time I have ever experienced someone actually following through with it! I took my car to a mechanic for my annual inspection and ended up failing the emissions test. I wanted a second opinion (little did I know these things are pretty much automated). I took my car to Jiffy Lube and got it re-inspected. The technician called me over afterward and explained that it failed the emissions test. I said I was looking for a reliable mechanic that wouldn't gouge me. He gave me a couple recommendations including the place where he has taken his Buick for years. Fast, friendly service for oil changes and state inspections. I had not had pleasant experiences with Jiffy Lube before going to this location. I endured long wait times, confusing explanations, and often felt nickel-and-dimed at other locations. I came to this location anyway, despite those experiences, because my car badly needed an oil change and the coupon I had made this place the cheapest option. I was surprised to find that the service was fast and friendly. I wasn't upsold anything. They went out of their way to make sure I got every discount possible. They promised 30 minutes or less, I waited 20. They promised 20 minutes another time, I waited 10. The waiting area could be a little cleaner sometimes (or maybe it was just the smelly dude who sat next to me). It's not the closest location to my home, but it absolutely is the choice place any time I need simple service for my car. read more

Have your oil changed at your own risk. I went to the Jiffy Lube @ 3401 N .Lamar location. When I asked them to changed the oil the gentleman told me that my oil plug was stripped out and required another approach. The gentleman took hammer and chisel to it Was down there banging away for away time assuming that this wasn't unusual and finally after awhile h proudly announced that he got it he was a professional. I am quoting him. Later that night my oil light gos on and informs me that I need additional quarts. To my displeasure took it back the following day and they were ever so happy to assist and they did. Fast forward 2 wk I notice an oil leak in my garage and take t to my mechanic he tells me take they have to replace try oil pan completely. Let m explain when the mechanic that took the hammer and chisel to it pierced th pan completely He never changed the old stripped plug for which they charged me for. Nope they tried to cover the job with orange sealant. I wish I could upload the images..So I call corporate and file a claim .. Denied Now I'm stuck with a $1200 bill ... Unacceptable. With out even viewing my photos they claim it was an existing condition. I assure you the general public. It was not. They totally jacked my car up not only once but twice.. Went in for an oil change and asked them to preform some other services. Brian, the manager, pulled me outside to go over the ticket. Since this is where they usually up-sale, I was curious as to what else they were going to try to get from me. To my surprise, Brian told me he didn't recommend the service I asked for and said it would basically be a waste of money. I was really surprised by this and definitely appreciated his honesty. This is the first time I have been to this location, but it was a first in my history with Jiffy Lube that someone didn't try to up-sale me and I leave with the feeling that I just got screwed over. I don't think I have ever been to the same oil change place twice, and usually try to avoid Jiffy Lubes, but I will definitely come back to this location for future oil changes and services. read more

The two gentlemen who were working were very polite and efficient, they worked quickly, they made sure that they were doing the service that I asked, they made sure I was comfortable in the office where I was sitting on my fat butt while they were working.....I don't know where you hired these two guys, but please give them a raise and tell them what a great job they are doing...Oh, I forgot to mention I hardly had to wait while they did a safety inspection while replacing a burned out light which means i don't have to return..,..Do you think I am satisfied?!! I just dealt with the rudest staff member (OLIVIA) I have dealt with in the 15 years I've been going to Jiffy Lube. I told her I needed an oil change and a brake light replaced. I was the 4th car in line, no problem there, people have to wait. About 10 minutes before she says my car is done she comes in to tell me it would only be 10-15 more minutes (again no problem, normal oil change routine). When she comes to tell me it's done she tells me about the oil change, I say "and the brake light right?" She says she had completely forgotten and takes ZERO accountability, doesn't say sorry, but instead says "well that'll be another 25 minutes, we have to do this other guy's inspection first". I told her I wasn't going to wait because she had MAJOR attitude, ZERO accountability and she proceeds to say "wow I'm sorry you're having such a rough day" in the most disrespectful tone. this place is PREDATORY I took my Chevrolet Cavalier in to get its state inspection. Immediately, the guy zeroed in on the brakes without so much as driving the car or testing them. I was outside by the car. He told me that the brakes were rubbing metal against metal and needed to be replaced. I told him they had been changed about six months ago and that they were fine. He took this as an affront to his character and got visibly upset and more aggressive in his manner of speaking. I'm thirty-six years old. I've been driving for a while. I think most of us know how it feels when your brakes pads wear off and its time for some new ones. First comes the screeching from the metal warning tabs, after that comes that grinding feeling of metal to metal. The guy continued on with the inspection. They then asked me out to the car, this time with another guy in tow who said the same thing, that the brake pads were gone and were rubbing metal to metal against the rotor. I knew that was not the case. I asked if that was a cause to fail the inspection, they said yes. I went online to the Texas DPS website to look at the criteria for brakes inspection. The only sentence related to wear of the brakes was the following, "There is an obvious metal to metal contact sound when brakes are applied, and upon investigation, drum or disk is being scored." The key word there is "SOUND when brakes are applied." There was no sound. Not a squeak or screech, much less the grinding of metal to metal. In terms of feel, they were solid. These guys clearly rely on a customer's lack of knowledge to coerce. They also apply a bit of intimidation. I took my Cavalier to another place less than half a mile away, another nationally recognized brand for automotive service. They said absolutely nothing about the brakes. They tested them like you're supposed to. They guy went out for a drive. I saw when he slammed on the brakes to test them. The car passed the inspection with flying colors. This other place just gave me a heads-up that the belt was worn and that the battery was only holding about half of its charged. All those things were reasonable since the car is 13 years old. They did not try to coerce to get them fixed to pass the inspection. They just said that the belt was worn and might not pass inspection next year. Again, reasonable. tldr; they tried to intimidate me into getting new brakes. refused to do the inspection. took it to another, nationally recognized brand of automotive shops. car passed inspection. absolutely nothing was said about the brakes. read more

From the minute I walked in, the plan was in place. I felt a high sense of professionalism from the first person that greeted me. Worst service I've ever had on my vehicle. It takes them 2 and half hours to change the oil on one vehicle with three people working on it. The first time I can sit took them an hour to change my oil. They put in too much and my car could barely drive/was smoking like it was on fire. Brought it back for them to fix and it took them 2 hours to fix. The manager laughed in my face about what happened. I asked him what was so funny. He said, "We're gonna have to get on someone." I didn't find any of this funny. I didn't find the waste of my time and money funny. I didn't find the fact that they put my life in danger on the road funny. I didn't find any of this ridiculousness funny. I had to call the cops because they refused to give me a refund for putting my life in danger. I will never return here and for he safety of your vehicle, your life, do not come here. read more

Came once over a year ago for an oil change and it took about an hour and a half. Never came back for an oil change, but decided to try getting my state car inspection here today. Was told 45 minutes to an hour so I went for a walk and returned after 55 minutes. I sat down to wait and finally asked how much longer after another 20 minutes had passed. It ended up taking a total of an hour and 45 minutes. The funny thing is I heard the same employee giving the 45 minutes to an hour wait time to another customer even though they were obviously backed up. I always expect lousy service from a chain, and these guys lived up to it. I went there for an inspection and to recharge the AC. I was happy that there was no line when I got there and that they could start right away. I asked how long it would take and was told about 35-40 minutes. I went next door to a coffee shop, came back 35 minutes later, and......nothing. When I say "nothing", I don't mean it wasn't quite done. I mean they hadn't started. I waited another 30 minutes for them to complete the work. I actually don't know exactly how long it took them, because they didn't bother to tell me when it was done. I had to go looking around for my car, and found it sitting outside, keys inside. When I was checked out, they did not apply a coupon ($20) that I had given them, and....this is the good part.....lost my insurance card. Just lost it. Given that the whole reason for the inspection was so that I could move my registration into Texas, that was a pretty important thing to keep track of. I've been to this location one other time for an oil change on a different car. Had basically the same experience (without the lost insurance card). Not a good track record..... read more

I take both my family's vehicles here for all their oil changes and minor service issues. The service has always been fast, and always meets expectations. I like that Jiffy Lube lets you watch them work on your car, and that you can ask questions as they work. Ron, the manager of this location, is always friendly and doesn't try to oversell a service. He'll only recommend what the manufacturer asks, which (depending on how you service your car) might be a little excessive. I've been to other Jiffy Lube locations in Austin where they will take out your cabin air filter and other small parts and ask to fix them. Shouldn't they wait and ask the owner before they rip it out and get grease all over it? read more

I've lost my patience with this company. I purchased a battery from this location in June of this year, and when my car started breaking down while I was driving, I took it to my normal mechanic as I thought it might have been a transmission issue. They found that the battery was completely dead, and to do any further tests it would have to be replaced. Originally Jiffy Lube said that to honor the batteries warranty I would have to bring my car in and they would have to replace it. I was not going to hire a tow truck to get my car to their location to replace the battery and then take it back to my normal mechanic, so they did agree to refund me for the old battery if I brought it in. This was in October and I have yet to receive my refund. (After I purchased a battery from my normal mechanic, they ran further tests and everything else in my car completely checked out, including the transmission.) When I brought the old battery back for the refund, they said that they had just updated their system and corporate would have to issue the refund as my receipt was showing as invalid or something and they couldn't do it at the store. I checked my bank statement every day waiting for the refund and nothing. I spoke to them last week (11/29) and they're now telling me that the refund was issued on 11/3 or 11/5. I check my bank statement again for the month of November; no refunds showing. I called my bank and they can't find any refund from Jiffy Lube for the month of November. I asked them to send me proof of the refund and have yet to hear from anybody. Maybe by writing a negative review, they'll take it a little more seriously and respond to me with some answers. As a side note - the manager Isaac has been helpful and polite on the phone every time I've called for updates, but my patience is at an end. read more

1. An oil change here turned out to be more expensive than I could have gotten at my Chevy dealership. 2. My husband's car needed a state inspection. We took it in on a non-busy weekday morning and waited 45 minutes to be looked at. Right off the bat, they said the headlights were too cloudy and told us to come back once they were fixed. We cleaned them thoroughly. This morning my husband called the shop and inquired if they could do a full inspection and give us a complete list of failures, if any more (and we'd happily pay the inspection fee for their time), rather than stop the moment they hit a failure. He was told that if they hit something that fails, the inspection ends there. So he called the JL down the road on W Anderson Ln, and they said they'd be happy to do the full inspection. We'll be going to that location from now on. read more

You have probably never been to an oil change place that is so pleasant, honest, and efficient. I've been getting my oil changed and my car inspected here for a couple of years, and there is no hassle. They don't sell me things I don't need, although they make an occasional recommendation that is usually backed up with evidence--like they say "it's about time for a new air filter," and then show me the black air filter--they don't ever push if I say no or look uninterested. Even if I want to keep my dirty air filter, which they don't recommend...something about gas mileage. Anyway, no headaches, no BS, my oil gets changed while I sit (very briefly because they're pretty darn fast) in a comfortable waiting room, and the people are extremely polite, every single time. Very bad experience. Was in hurry and was told it would take 30 minutes. I was asked what type of oil I wanted and I asked the cost. Was quoted over $200 for my diesel truck. I normally pay $75-90 so I told them I was moving on and didn't want the oil changed. That's when they let me know the oil was already drained. I hadn't authorized anything! Not having a choice, I had to go with a lower grade oil. All this took over an hour. Don't waste your time as plenty of local shops have more experience and much better pricing. I knew better than trying Jiffy Lube again. read more

I went to this location because it was close to home and in a decent neighborhood. I did a quick search and found a $15 dollar off coupon. Of course it didn't say what the $15 was off of. When I arrived, I asked the manager what it would cost for the oil change with the coupon. I was told I needed synthetic oil. (Hint: They charge more Synthetic oils) I knew this was not true and told him so. He insisted on showing me on his computer. He pulled up the data and it clearly said "SAE 5W-20". Pointing to the "SAE", he proclaimed "see that show you need synthetic". I asked if "SAE" meant something different here than the industry standard, and he said "yes, in our system that means synthetic". For those that don't know SAE stands for "Society of Automotive Engineers". It is a standard for all oils and does NOT indicate synthetic oil is required. Conventional AND Synthetic oils are SAE "rated". A person running a business that specializes in oil certainly should know this. My normally $30 oil change was jacked up to over $80 by the time he was done. He proceeded to point out all of the other vehicles in line that also needed synthetic oil. As I walked out, I could not help but feel sorry for all of the people who didn't know any better. I normally change my own oil but sometimes don't have the time or want to deal with the hassle of it. I do have 20 years worth of car/engine repair experience and that must be rare these days based on what this manager did. In short, find someone else you can trust. These guys are either incompetent or dishonest. read more

I went in for an oil change with a recently purchased groupon. The manager, Brian, told me I could not use it because he can't scan it. He blamed groupon and said it was an ongoing issue the past month. I said I'd forget about it if he could match the $25 groupon. He said he would not and even if he could scan the voucher code, he'd only be able to take off $25. I told him that's not how groupon worked and he started getting extremely verbally aggressive towards me. I asked if he'd call Groupon and he refused. He kept asking me why he was getting blamed for a multi-billion dollar corporation's problem. I had to ask him three times to just pull my car out so I could go somewhere else. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I felt so bad for all the people that have to work there with him. A few days later (today), I went into the Jiffy Lube off Bee Caves and they had zero issues with my voucher. The manager knew how to pull it up online and enter the code. Obviously Brian was just being lazy and/or he doesn't understand computers. If you're considering this location, I recommend you call ahead and make sure he isn't there. My girlfriend took my car in for inspection at the Spicewood location due to my schedule being hectic even though I was just a few blocks from said location. She did me a solid and drove in from around Rock to pick up my car to do so. Coming from a decade of service work in the automotive industry with a solid 40% of that being a dealer tech who had been a licensed Texas state inspector, I made sure my vehicle ticked off all the requirements to pass. I plugged in my Techstream (big money Toyota Dealer Diagnostic computer which I OWN) and made sure there were no pending codes, that all monitors were ready, I installed new OEM Toyota wiper inserts, and replaced a tail light bulb in order to make sure I was in compliance. The Prius was good to go! She walks up to find Joseph there who tells her she "can't have writing on the window" (vinyl letter stickers) due to the law. She brings me my vehicle back within five minutes of leaving me and tells me what happened. When I call, Ron answers and I ask for an explanation on why my lady was denied inspection and he proceeded to tell me that nobody came to his location with her description or issue and that she must've gone to the Anderson location (which is what we should have done). Giving him the benefit of the doubt I call her and ask her exactly where she went, which she confirmed was the Spicewood location that she arrived at via my message to her of their address. So I call back and get Ron once again. He tells me AGAIN that she didn't come to this location, tells me there's nobody there that matches the description she gave, and reiterated that she went to the Anderson location and HUNG UP ON ME!!! So I call back, and tell him he needs to check again because she definitely did go there and asked again for an explanation as to why she was denied and he tells me "you can't have writing all over the winda"! SO NOW YOU KNOW WHO I AM TALKING ABOUT!!!! So I ask him exactly where it says that and he tells me to look at the DPS website which I already had pulled up before I called to ensure laws hadn't changed since 2018 when I last held an inspection license) and respond verbatim with the law that states there can be no obstruction of view and Ron interrupted me and said "it doesn't matter anyway, we're right and you're wrong!" And HUNG OP ON ME, AGAIN!!! At this point my girlfriend drives up there AGAIN and takes a video of the employee, Joseph, who remembers her as the girl with "writing all over the window" (actually says ThreatLevelMidnight across the lower portion without obstructing view) and when she asks what exactly makes that fail inspection, he responded off topic and started questioning her description of him as "the kinda chubby white guy" instead of explaining his wrong perspective of the law. The car passed inspection with no issues at another Jiffy Lube. Joseph and Ron aren't cut out for this work. read more

As a young female grad student, this was the best place I had ever been. They were very friendly and conversational and I was in and out in no more than 20 mins. I didn't even have time to study while I waited, which I had counted on! Like the other reviews, they didn't try to upsell me on a single thing. They showed me the different choices for oil, and didn't put up a fight when I said I just wanted the regular oil. Additionally, they gave me a 10$ off military discount. I know they always have coupons, so this probably wasn't a big deal. But, having forgotten to bring my coupon in, this was a huge plus! FINALLY, they reset my Honda Civic's oil life ticker. They only place that has ever happened for me was when I got my oil changed at the actual Honda service station. FANTASTIC PLACE. read more

I came in last night at 6:58 pm waiting in line at the bay. I just had a horrendous experience at the Burnett Road location but figured I'd give these guys a shot. There were a couple of vehicles at the shop but patiently waited. It's now about 7:15 and a tech comes up, I'm thinking he's going to tell me that it's too late we're not going to be able to service your truck. Instead, he asked how can I help. I was so relieved that they were going above and beyond their duties to help me out. Aubrey took me in for a simple oil change. He advised that the air filter was in need of replacing and battery terminals looked corroded. I agree to add that to the service. I notice another tech (Rick) working on a couple last minute stragglers trying to get their inspection done. My point is, they could've easily turned these customers away because of the closing time but they decided to work until all customers were taken care of. It's not around 7:45 and I'm ready to check out and make my trek home This location is a little out of my way from home but I will certainly continue to make my way to this location because of Aubrey and Ricks commitment to a higher Jiffy Lube standard. Have a good one" That's it. Quickest and cheapest (and legal of course) state inspection I've ever had conducted as well. Friendly, professional service and quick but well-done work. Somehow better than the already great Jiffy Lube on Anderson. If you can find a less expensive place and time isn't an issue, go for it. Otherwise, this is as good as it gets in the area. read more

Today I had an oil change and was also worried about the break fluid light that went off. The guy at JL said they don't do break fluid stuff, but suggested I'd go and get a bottle somewhere else and do it myself, and was kind enough to show me where to pour it (I'm clueless....).
