I spent half a Saturday driving around town to find help to get off my rusted and stripped bolts keeping me from removing the old plates, including a different Jiffy Lube on E. Riverside and everyone refused to help. I had previously got my vehicle inspection at this location and recalled how kind the staff was so I stopped by and asked if they could help. I have been going to this location for over a year now and have never had problems until now. My car has an oil leak and I have to go here frequently. They all know this too, as I am in there often. Yet, the past few times, I have been told I have to wait extreme amounts of time to just get my oil topped off. One my most recent visit, I was told I was going to have to wait an hour to and hour and a half just to get an oil top off. Yes, I know it's first come first serve, but that wait time is a little extreme for a less than five minute operation. I even talked to the manager about my misshape and he was nothing but rude about it the whole time. Over all its a great location, but if the customer service doesn't improve, I will no longer go to this store. read more

I can't give a positive review. For a basic oil change, we ended up having to add a coolant flush and new fuel filter that I hadn't anticipated. So the bill was $200+. Vehicle sprung 4 oil leaks a week later, leaving a dinner plate size oil puddle on the ground. We took the truck to a dealership who said it was very rare to see 4 oil leaks suddenly appear: valve covers, intake manifold, and oil pan. That cost me another $750 to have the dealership repair those leaks. read more

Unprofessional, sloppy work, run by a liar with zero-accountability. I can't speak for the other staff, but a staff is only as good as it's management. Jason, the manager performed an oil change on my vehicle & ended up breaking the connecting tube from my air filter housing while checking my air filter, which can cause long-term engine damage. Not only that, but of course he denied it, though that was absolutely the only plausible way that could have happened, then lied about when his supervisor (Luis the district manager) would be in for me to talk to as well. After contacting Luis, he said he would call me to discuss (which he did not, I had to remind him), upon which he sent a half-assed email about how the cameras did not show anything, as if they wear body cameras that show exactly where their hands are in detail. I ended up having to buy a new air filter housing unit, which is a few hundred dollars just by itself. There are plenty of other places to get your oil change done folks. Go anywhere else. They will break your vehicle and you will have to pay. read more

I was really disappointed when I picked up my car and the total was over $95 for an oil change and a tire rotation. I tried to pay before they did the service but they told me you pay upon pickup, in hindsight, so they can overcharge. I wish they would have given some indication of price before service. I'll never go back. Two stars because the work they did was fine. Just push them to tell you the price before you leave. read more

They will tell you it will take 15 min but expect AT LEAST an hour. There were 2 cars ahead of me and I ended up waiting for more than 3 hours. I would've definitely gone to a different location it they were at least somewhat honest about the wait times. I would definitely look into other locations for an oil change. They call it Jiffy Lube because you'll need lube when they make you bend over. Wait...did I say that out loud? I can't believe how many things they tried to sell me that I didn't need. And they use scare tactics to do it, which just pisses me off. If I don't use the synthetic oil, such and such is going to happen to my engine. Never mind that my dealer uses regular oil; that's just not right. What? The owner's manual says you should get your oil changed every 5000 miles? Well, the guys at Jiffy Lube know better than my owner's manual, putting a 3000 mile change on my sticker, and trying to convince me otherwise even after I told them that the manual recommends differently. They also tried to sell me a filter for my passenger compartment air, and they tried hard to push a regular air filter on me until they lifted the hood of my car and saw that they had no idea how to put it in (my car has this bizarre cover over almost the entire engine compartment). Then, and only then, did they say, "Oh, you probably don't need one now, anyway." Yeah. Thanks, buddy. I coughed up two stars for them because they gave me the "manager's special" ($24.99) even though it was outside the time period to get that rate; because they were at least affable during their hard sell job; and because trying to screw you over is basically par for the course for oil change places, anyway. Still, if you go...don't forget to bring lube. read more

I've never had my oil changed here, so I can't speak for their service in that regard. However, once, while driving home from work in the rain, my car started flipping out (lights were blinking, power steering stopped functioning, etc.). I thought it might a belt-related problem, so I pulled my car up to the jiffy lube (as it was the closest car service place), barely making it before my car's battery died. I explained my position and they agreed to look at my car and see if they could fix the problem. Turned out it was the serpentine belt (thank goodness) and it was in great condition -- it had just slipped out of place. They put it back for me no charge. They saved me from what could have been a towing situation, fixed my belt for free, and were very nice the whole time. read more

Nice technicians, dishonest manager, be careful if you don't know much about cars. Needed a quick oil change, was promptly helped by a technician and pointed towards a waiting room where Godzilla was playing, and a few customers were sitting playing on their phones. 5 minutes later the manager, Patricio, comes in saying he needs to talk to me, like there's something wrong and he's concerned. I'm led out to a computer set up next to my vehicle where he proceeds to tell me all the hundreds of dollars of additional maintenance my car "needs." He then pulls out my current air filter, which is white as snow, and tells me it's filthy and desperately needs to be replaced. I said THIS is dirty? Right as he says yes I look up at the technician working on my car and he discretely shakes his head no. I tell him I don't need a new filter or anything else he's selling and go back inside. I asked a tech what the managers name was, and told him how he just tried to take advantage of me and sell me work I don't need done. He was like "ya I know there's a lot of complaints about him on yelp." I wonder how many nice people walk in there every day for an oil change and are duped into unnecessary additional maintenance. If it wasn't for the weasel manager it would have been a 4 or 5 star review, everyone else was so nice and helpful. read more

Arrived for a simple oil change. It took forever for the woman to FINALLY write me up initially. She wanted me to get out of my truck and walk over to her computer terminal in the garage so she could ask me the information needed. She seem absolutely dumbfounded that I had wanted to just sit in my vehicle...I had things to do there. Begrudgingly, she asked the questions, noting the answers and entered them on the computer. She was none too happy but it was her job, after all! Anyway, after I was FINALLY directed into the space (I sat there while it remained empty for 10 minutes and guys just wandered aimlessly around without looking at me sitting there waiting to drive in). The oil change was done (I think...see further comments below). At the end I had to pull forward, park and get out to go into the office to pay--annoying for a 'drive-thru' business, but whatever. The woman behind the counter, though nice, ran quickly through the list of supposed service I had received, including "checked lights--all OK, checked tire pressure--all OK, washed windows--OK, vacuum the interior--OK, etc". Fine except that my lights were NOT checked. My tire pressure was NOT checked. There was NO offer to vacuum the interior. Now, it seems most, if not all of their customers just go in and sit in the office to wait, not observing the "service" being done to their vehicles. I was obviously the oddball who stayed in the vehicle so I noticed when all these things were NOT done. Those sitting in the office would never know the difference. This is lousy service--but those things I KNOW they didn't do were relatively innocuous. It DOES, however, make me wonder WHAT these people actually DID. I have no way to know that the oil change was done correctly. I have no way to know that they actually replaced the oil filter (without getting into the engine and trying to see it). I have no way of knowing if they actually did the lubing they advertise. I have no way to know if they actually did anything they say they did. Given what they DIDN'T do, I have strong suspicions. In short, this place is a FRAUD. DO NOT TRUST THEM FOR A SECOND to complete the service for which you have paid! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!!!!! read more

i went here today for a basic oil change, and they were pretty average. not especially forceful on trying to sell me random crap. pretty fast turnaround time. but they DID steal my quarters!! i had like $10 in quarters in my coin tray and i had suspected that they might pull some shenanigans, so i took a photo of the tray prior to dropping my car off. after i picked it up i checked the tray, and more than half the pile was missing! but i didn't have the balls to complain about it so i just drove off. will probably never come back again. read more

I've gotten my oil changed here multiple times. Sure, they've attempted to upsell me before, and as a young woman I feel like I have to be especially firm so as not to feel taken advantage of - but that's part of being an adult, and honestly I think people need to stop whining about it. This is a business, it's their job to try to upsell you. Regardless of any of that, the service at this Jiffy Lube has always been up to my expectations and I have never felt bullied or pushed to make a purchase I didn't want to. Today I went in to get my oil changed, and was asked whether I needed to get my car inspected as well - a service I didn't even know they offered, but was happy to accept since my inspection was expired. I was there for 30 minutes tops, was explicitly told during my check-in (when they offer upgrades and additional services) that none of what I was being offered was mandatory and that I had the option to decline (which I did, without issue). I was then given ten dollars off for coming during the Early Bird Special (weekdays from 7-10, which is why I go to Jiffy Lube in the first place). On top of all of this, everyone that I dealt with was very kind, polite, and efficient. Maybe it's due to all of these poor reviews that this Jiffy Lube in particular is stepping up their game, who knows. Either way, I will continue to give them my business. read more

OK. Have five cars and do lots of oil changes and have done for years. I always expect to pay more at a quick lube than at Walmart but the trade-off is I dont have to wait an hour to get my car back. Stopped in at this Jiffy Lube for a full synthetic oil change on my Jetta. Price for their house Penzoil full synthetic was about what I was used to paying, got $10 off that without a coupon and was in and out in less than 30 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. What's not to like? They don't have WiFi but they are close enough to the Starbucks across the street that you can sit in their lobby and still get great signal.... :). Clean, fast, courteous and reasonably priced. I like them. read more

I don't look like it, but I am a trained mechanic and worked in full service shops for a while. Generally I am too lazy to do my own vehicle service (this is why I no longer do it for a living). As a result I unfortunately find shops trying to lie to me quite often about what services I need. This was not the case today. The service attendants are friendly and honest. They did not try to recommend anything I didn't need, or force me into the more expensive oil change. If you are looking for a place you can trust this is a good one! I wish I knew the name of the gentleman who assisted me this morning, but unfortunately I don't. I went in for an inspection and oil change, and he suggested a transmission flush, which I knew it was about time for anyway. He explained everything to me beforehand and showed me the difference in the colors of my transmission fluid and the new one. I understand some places try to upsell and I'm not a sucker for that sort of thing. He didn't pressure me a single bit. The rest of the staff were quick and professional. I loved the Jiffy Lube I would frequent in Killeen, so I'm very glad that I've found one here in Austin that matches the great customer service of the last one. I went here to get my oil changed right before I had to drive home for Thanksgiving. I got there a little after 6, and they were closing at 7, so they started working on it right away, I guess they wanted to get home, and that's cool I understand. About halfway through my trip home it started to rain and when I turned on my windshield wipers (they clean your windshield as part of the service) one of them wasn't completely on and looked like it was about to fly off. I pulled over and tried to put it back on only to realize the plastic connecter had been broken. Arg. I just paid over $100 for a synthetic oil change and whether they broke the wiper or not, they should have put it back correctly, not ajar, and maybe warned me that it was broken. I went for a state inspection. I was told my timing was good, they would get right on it. Two hours later, no state inspection, one broken mirror and my car alarm on the floor instead of mounted under the dash. Of course, they weren't responsible for any of the damage. They didn't do the inspection because it took them two hours to figure out they didn't have the proper equipment to do the emissions test. Avoid at all costs! read more

The employees are willing to take a second look at your vehicle if you feel there is something wrong. My fiancé got her oil changed and air filter replaced, and felt their was a new rumble upon acceleration. I took it in Nick looked it over and found that there was a tab left on the air filter. This is my favorite place for State Inspection of my car in Austin. They have a separate lane for State inspection and do it very promptly. Good waiting area with coffee and unisex restroom. I have been getting oil changes here for the last few years. They are always quick and friendly. Yes, they always tell you what they think you need in addition to oil change. Just say no to them if you don't agree. I give them 4 stars because of the staff. Every time my tire light comes on, I drive by this location, and they fill them up with no charge. I'd go back here in a jiff...get it...I have needed an oil change for a very long time and I had 20 min before my yoga class so I figured I'd go ahead and get it done. From the time they greeted me at my car to the time I left in my vaccumed car, I was a happy girl. I was in and out in a flash.
