Very friendly staff with quick and quality service. My main complaint has to do with how expensive this place is. My bill was $100 + tax for synthetic oil and a filter. I've spent nearly $30 less on previous changes from other businesses. I know this isn't managed by the location, but save some money and find another location. First time at Jiffy, great experience, thought the prices were reasonable, the staff were very pleasant to deal with, shop was clean. Went in for oil/ filter and antifreeze replace service. Work was performed in a professional manner and I was out of there in less than 45 minutes. I will be back, thanks guys and girls, I'm a happy camper. Keep up the great work. I took one star away, on my first visit they did not reset my oil reminder, plus on my second visit (different car) they charged me $49.99 for a cabin air filter. I was advised of the price prior to the install, but it was in such a bad state I agreed to replace it. In the future will purchase and install myself for less than $15.00. They're not professional at all I don't recommend you waste your time. It was empty and they showed me why it should be. Didnt know how to be hospitable and acted like I should be comfortable with random people entering my vehicle and looking through it. During Covid? No, things have changed guys I don't condone more than the necessary. And I blew up on them and they replied with I should have a valentine but honestly that's super ignorant to tell someone who is Jewish and doesn't celebrate holidays. I work during most and my only off day to get oil change happens to be a Monday Americans deem a holiday. I was mad because I didn't trust people to be up in my car and sure enough they did something to make me uncomfortable. Next time don't assume and just be aware that your job was to direct someone and be welcoming instead of assuming I would know how jiffy lube does things. I want to thank the staff who really helped me out with a situation I had with my car. I got an oil change and after I left my check engine light came on so I went back very upset because in my mind I thought they had done something wrong. The manager was very patient and kind and and ran a complimentary diagnostic and behold! My speed sensor had gone out. It was just pure coincidence that it happened shortly after leaving. I have been going to this place a few years now. The service is fast and efficient. I went during NYE and they had 6 cars in front of me and I was still out in a reasonable time. They explained and gave me recommendations for my car based on my manufacturer. I never feel pressured to buy anything or upgrade when I am here. The waiting area is always clean. They have complimentary coffee and water. Their restroom are clean. Oh best of all they have coupon on the web you can print it to save money. Yay! read more

This review is a few months late - but 5 stars to these guys. My first tire rotation and oil change on my own (husband usually handles that for me), and I was relieved that the guys at Jiffy Lube didn't take advantage of me, even though it was clear I had no experience with this. I had started my car after working a full day and 15 minutes before closing time, I called to see if they could take my car - not even knowing how long it takes to do an oil change. They told me to come in and by the time I got in, and my car back, it was 20 minutes after closing time. Nobody made me feel bad for coming in so late, and the cashier was explaining to me what they did and what they didn't do. Just started Foursquare so I almost forgot to Yelp this sucker... I thought the staff was nice and I guess they did a good job but I'm not sure as my car hasn't learned to talk yet. Actually, I was taking my Mom's car in and I thought $50 would do the trick. Well the guy did a not so pushy sales pitch on filters (engine and the other) and a short spiel on transmission fluid and since my tranny just broke down in my 2001 Lexus RX 300, I thought it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and do it for my Mom. After, I was reminded that she had the head gasket replaced or fixed or something 6 months ago and probably had everything done too. Crap. I walked out paying $215+. Good thing I saved $5 by dowloading a coupon on my Crackberry while waiting over an hour (it went by fast)... I was kind of being sarcastic about the $5 but I guess it's better than nothing. Then I went to go check my Mom's mail since she was in Japan and there was a $10 coupon. Doh! (who says that? still...) On top of all this I was on my Master Cleanse so I couldn't enjoy the complimentary coffee bar. Again the staff was kind but I quickly learned that I could have easily saved $100 or more by replacing my own filter for cheap. I learn something new everyday. The highlight of my visit was that I got to bask in the sun. Well sort of, the waiting room was nice and warm and the sun was beaming through the windows slightly tanning my neck and arms (my hair was up) and I got a nice dose of Vitamin D. read more

Compelled to write and rave. It seems so infrequently that one has a stellar customer service experience. Going into Jiffy Lube at 5:05PM today I didn't have high expectations, end of the day, you know. Jeesh I couldn't have been any more wrong. The service light was on and I was extremely worried. Had the pleasure of meeting Miguel at the counter and wow did he treat me right. He was friendly and polite. He even gave me the diagnostic code for my Nissan - heat sensor on the catalytic. I'm going to Google it in a few minutes. Most places charge for that. He gave me a $5 gas card. We got to talking about tires and my need for them and gave me some extremely useful advice. Truck was lubed within about 15 mins, fluids, pressures checked, tires and carpets cleaned. The experience couldn't have been any better. Basic oil change charge for a SUV - $42 and some change. Miguel is an absolute diamond, thank you very much and I will be a customer forever with service like this. read more

I've been using different branches of Jiffy Lube for years, and this one is now my local. I just use them for their oil change service and take the car to the dealer for the big services. I've probably been to this location about 6 times now, and today arrived 8 minutes before they closed (I didn't realize they closed at 4pm on a Sunday) and there was no wait - car was serviced immediately. I like the fact that they don't hard sell the extras or try to scare you into thinking you might need extra stuff doing when you really don't, they just tell you what the extras are and don't give you any nonsense when you turn the extras down. Just as I am leaving 8 minutes after they were supposed to close, another car pulled up and they took it too - nice to see. read more

I was a little wary going to Jiffy Lube. I hate getting car stuff taken care of on my own. My dad always made sure I got the best deal and wasn't being ripped off. Unfortunately for me, I had to grow up and learn how to deal with car stuff on my own since daddy is a 6 hour drive away. On my first visit, there was a long list of things I had to get fixed aside from the simple oil change. I was skeptical, but they showed proof that these were things that needed to be done. I visited a few days ago for another oil change and they helped me see that I needed some new filters (again they didn't just say it, they showed proof..and wow was the filter bad!). I feel confident that I'm getting good service here and that I'm not being up-charged for anything because I'm a girl. There are windows into the work area so you can see exactly what they're doing. I trust what they tell me and hey! There are coupons! You can check in for a deal, or if you live in the area, they're sending home coupons all the time. While I was there, this girl came back with a coupon that she forgot to bring during her service and they were so kind to go back, void the previous transaction, and ring everything up again with the discount. I have NEVER seen that happen before! Awesome and friendly service! They also have a nice waiting area with a tv, restroom, and a Keurig coffee maker with Starbucks coffee. read more

Came here for an Uber inspection and afterward when I got back into my vehicle it smelled so strongly of marijuana smoke I had to air it out for several hours before giving any rides. I don't think they'd be disrespectful enough to smoke out inside of it, so maybe a staff member was just getting high before and rubbed off with his clothing. I don't know. Run fast, run far!!!! I went in here because my car's (2008 PT Cruiser, less than 20,000 miles) transmission was slipping. Everyone was really nice in terms of customer service. I explained that the vehicle had spent a lot of time in storage and that the transmission was slipping and asked them to see if the fluid needed changing or if it was low. So, I wait a suspiciously short period of time, and they come back and tell me that it doesn't need new fluid (didn't figure) but that it was low and needed topping off and that they'd also topped off my oil (didn't really want that; I use a specific brand/weight and no one asked me what I wanted in there). Then the head tech lets me know that they found a "massive leak" and that I should take it to get it checked out. "Oh, by the way, here's a card for my friend's transmission shop, if you mention me maybe you'll get a discount!" Well, by then my Spidey senses are tingling, because I feel like this guy's assumed that since I'm not a dude I don't know what all that "stuff" under the hood of my car is for (it's there to give it better balance, right...? hyuck). So I take it to a mechanic I know I can trust, and guess what? All I have is a minor seep, and all he recommends is keeping an eye on fluid levels. Glad I didn't go to Mr. Jiffy's buddy. Probably saved myself a few hundred bucks right there. I'm also pretty sure that if Jiffy Lube Corporate heard that these guys have a racket going out of their shop, they'd be pretty unhappy. read more

Judging by the many previous reviews, feelings are mixed about this place. I have to say, I have gone there on and off for the last 8 years and it needs to said that these guys really took care of me and in many cases, went above and beyond without being asked. Particularly Danny and Jose. For example, although Jiffy Lube does not ordinarily change batteries, Danny set aside ten minutes to help me change mine which is a bigger pain with a Volvo than other cars, but he volunteered, and was extremely humble and gracious about the added service. The fact is, there have been so many good experiences with these guys I can't name them all. And they have never tried to upsell me - They tell me what they've found, explain all the possibilities and outcomes of doing vs. putting off the work and let me decide what I'd like to get done. ZERO STARS (not 1 star, I was forced to do that) Background I drive a Subaru and they are very reliable, never break down. I've had this one for 3 years and it has NEVER overheated, or had any mechanical problem for that matter. It has had all the scheduled maintenance, on schedule. I'm used to it running perfectly. Chapter 1 Took the car in to Jiffy Monterey yesterday afternoon for a simple oil change. (I usually take it to a trusted mechanic/friend or the Subaru dealer, but I knew I couldn't get in same day and wanted to get the oil changed before a road trip this weekend.) I drove straight home afterward and didn't go anywhere until this morning (about 18 hours later). So this morning I drive 2 MILES to the beach; it is very cold out, about 40 degrees. It is not NOT overheating weather. It is winter, and I WENT 2 MILES. But my car overheats. Just about the same moment that I notice the temperature gauge is PEGGED IN THE RED I hear a loud *POP* under the hood and water and steam come gushing out. So I pull over immediately, let it cool down, open the hood. There is water everywhere, and although I can't see where, I know it has either blown a radiator hose, or the radiator itself has somehow failed. And by "failed" I mean exploded. I just can't accept the idea that my car dramatically overheats the VERY NEXT TIME I drive it, after these guys change my oil, is some kind of coincidence. I repeat: it has never overheated, or even got warmer than normal. Not in summer, and not after 5 hours of continual driving, Monterey to Tahoe. So now it's been towed to my mechanic, and I'm waiting to hear back about what's wrong and how much it will cost. SO AT THE MOMENT, I DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE, AND RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR, OR ANY CAR, HERE. To be fair, I will go talk to these guys after I get the verdict back from my mechanic, and depending on what he says, give them a chance to make it right. Stay tuned for Chapter 2. Other Observations While my oil change procedure went smoothly, and they didn't try too hard to up-sell me air filters and synthetic oil, I did notice them using those exact tactics to several female customers while I was in there. Ever since my 2010 Corolla was purchased I've always taken it to the dealership for service. I'm not a "car person" so I didn't really realize there were other options until recently. I took the advice of a friend this past month and came here for my regular service (oil change, tire rotation, etc.) I walked in, no appointment needed, and was helped immediately. I told them, "I've never been here and I need regular service". They replied, "We have you covered! Step inside and it won't take long". I was so pleased with the customer service, the efficiency, and the price!! The word 'smarmy' came to mind about 10 seconds after we started talking to the dude channeling Lenny Kravitz (excellent comparison, Nic A.) that nervously tried us to buy into everything Jiffy Lube could do for our car. Even though we asked for only an oil change, we made the mistake of letting on that we'll be driving cross-country this week. That set off a whole new set of options we could pay them for, none of it needed. His aggressive nervousness was completely untrustworthy, and I felt like pulling my car out of the garage before they could touch any other part of the vehicle. The typical air filter plea, the 'dangerously' low level of freon gag, and the synthetic blend oil upgrade (due to driving on the highway) were all used unconvincingly. I ended up opening the door from the waiting room to the garage to hear what they were discussing whilst working on the car. Speaking of waiting rooms, after being offered a coffee while we waited, I went to enjoy a cup of warmth and the last 1/2 oz sputtered out into my dixie cup. Very anti-climatic. So then, I went to Yelp and read the other reviews. Should have stayed away and am thankful that we got out of there only paying for the conventional oil change with a $10-off coupon (which seemed to visibly upset Kravitz). read more

Uber and Lyft drivers don't take your car here for inspection! They will try to cheat you! They tried to cheat me but I was too smart for them. The girl behind the counter who couldn't even figure out what 15% of $50 was lied to me and told me that I had to pay twice for my vehicle inspection. I told her that was horse hockey and I was only going to pay for one and she told me you will see! Like this little 20-something girl knows more than me. Come on. These guys take care of my car. Today I needed a headlight bulb replaced. The manager worked me in but there was an issue with the fit for the replacement bulb. The normally simple job invited input from every person on shift. Eventually Jose was able to snap the bulb housing unit into place. No charge! This is how you know you live in a small town. I have a lot of trust issues when comes to my car and the services needed, but when they told me about recommended services if I said no the just accepted it and didn't try and argue or push me into a sale. They also told me about my licence plate light and a brake light was out, I'm so glad they told me before I got pulled over for it. They worked fast and efficient. It has never been too busy when i go too; if i go in during late morning i only wait less than an hour till my car is completely done. I've never waited long. I pulled into Jiffy Lube and was met with a friendly face before I even had a chance to get out of the car. Went into the clean, well maintained office. They pulled my car right in, asked what I wanted done, no up sell, no hassles. I made a cup of Star Bucks coffee and before I could finish the cup my car was sitting in the driveway waiting for me. Biggest downside to the place was I had to drive away holding a 1/2 full cup of coffee because I couldn't drink it fast enough. I went to Jiffy Lube on Abrego St in Monterey yesterday around 5:30 PM to perform an scheduled oil change and filter. While the service was being done, from the waiting room I saw sparks and black smoke coming out of my truck's engine compartment. Two service workers were there. I approached them and they said everything was OK. They said that they accidentally placed a tool on top of the car's battery and that was the reason that caused the sparks and smoke. They instructed me to wait in the waiting room saying that everything was right and nothing was wrong with the car. When they were done with the oil change they returned my truck and I drove home. Then I noticed all the electric system was not working: horn, gas gauge and so on. The store closed right after I left so I had to wait until today in the morning. I waited this morning in front of the store until they open. I talked to some service person and he said he couldn't help me with my issue and that the only thing I could do is to WAIT for the manager that he might come back around 10:30 Am or so. I couldn't go to work today. I used to be a Waiter at a Restaurant in Carmel, now I resorted to work in a Cemetery just to pay my bills. I can't afford losing my job, or even miss a day. I earn close to minimum wage and struggling still to pay all the bills/rent. I called Jiffy Lube headquarters, also filled a claim on their website. The word is that I should wait 3 days for an answer. I will go back to see the Manager, Mr John Dewees later in the morning and expect to get this issues are fixed, plus a formal apology. I will post back here after to follow up. Update at 12:45 PM: The Store manager Mr Dewees inspected the fuse box of my truck, found nothing wrong. He referred me to a different mechanic, conveniently located just across the street. While I mentioned to him about the repair's cost, he answered that Jiffy Lube will take care of the bill. Took the truck to this new shop and talked to the mechanic. he asked me who will take care of the bill and answer what I was told by Mr Dewees. Ok, the truck should be ready and fixed by the end of the day. I will bill Jiffy Lube, then they will call you when is ready to pick up. Great!, I thought. On my way home on the bus, I started to feel a bit of relief. It lasted a minute, though. A Mr Anathony ( Not the manager anymore) from Jiffy Lube is just calling me just to tell me that they forgot to inform me about Jiffy Lube's policy: I have to pay for the new repairs out of my pocket. In case there's prove that the cause of the malfunction caused by Jiffy Lube, they can't reimburse me. I do not have any money saved for emergencies and I am barely surviving during this COVID19 emergency. Without my truck I can't go to work.... Will see what this leads. I am calling my lawyer, just in case. Update 2:00PM Around 1:50 PM I received a phone call from a man who introduced himself as the district manager or district supervisor from San Jose. He was very direct regarding the company's policy and mostly repeated what I heard before. I insisted on my point of view but he didn't want to listen. I decided to let my lawyer deal with all this and let thDewees, called. The truck was ready to pick up and they already cover the costs of the repair. THe mechanic said that the wrench touching the battery was the sure cause for the issue. read more

When I arrived, there were 3-4 jobs in already in-work, but John acknowledged our phone conversation and ensured me that he would take care of us, promptly reallocating staff. John not only provided the requested transmission service, he provided invaluable technical discussion to allow me to make an informed decision as we were on a family vacation 300+ miles from home with a concerning transmission juddering issue. I would not hesitate to recommend this site and specifically John D. given the exceptional and friendly customer service and rapid committed vehicle service. I like Jiffy Lube--the waiting rooms are clean, staff friendly, and service quick. Yes, every time I've gone to one, a technician tries to sell me something more, but that's okay. What I didn't like about the Monterey Jiffy Lube is hearing the manager, who didn't see me, tell two technicians that whoever sold a particular item by the end of the day would get a bonus. First of all, I wanted to let the reader know that I know what I'm talking about since my cousin owned a Chevrolet dealership in western PA and told my Dad all about the car business. I chose to go to college and graduate from a prestigious grad school in a science instead, working for a long time at the in-town Navy School, but still wash, wax, and otherwise detail my car myself that hardly anybody does anymore. You have to remember that maybe the workers at these oil change places graduated high school, but if they did, probably just barely attained a low GPA just barely good enough to graduate. I had personal experience at one of the Jiffy Lubes in Monterey through my girlfriend, and when she went on a business trip, I checked the oil and found they had not even checked to see if they put enough oil and was about 2 of 5 quarts low. When I was upset and complained to the "manager" (and I say that term facetiously) he offered a free oil change the next time. What makes you believe they wouldn't screw up again? And that doesn't account for any damage done to her older Lexus' engine, which fortunately did not occur. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle to a reputable independent mechanic as my cousin said, not a dealer like him who would rip you off for any "free"doughnuts you might receive. At least it will be done right, and at a reasonable price. Thats what my Dad did, and what I continue to do. If it was possible, I'd rate these guys negative stars. read more
