I do not usually take the time to write reviews but I had to for this Jiffy Lube. The girl helped us immediately and directed my boyfriend and I to the Starbucks coffee station in the office. You can see them work on your car through the glass which is quite nice for people like myself who are easily paranoid. My oil change was finished in minutes and my car got a nice cleaning as well! Jiffy Lube Makes Flash the Sloth From Zootopia Look Speedy This morning I went to the Monterey Jiffy Lube. Mine was the third vehicle in line when opened up at 8:00 AM. I was there for an oil change and tire rotation. It wasn't until 8:45 before my vehicle was even moved out of the driveway (the other two customers were finished and gone). At that time they put it my vehicle up on the lift and put an impact wrench on a right rear wheel lug nut. No one actually used the impact wrench, they just hung it on a lug nut and walked away. Two of the employees stood next to my vehicle and chit-chatted for the next ten minutes (I later learned their names were Nick and John). At 8:55 the first lug nut was finally removed. It takes less than a second to remove a lug nut. It took over ten minutes to complete the tire rotation. The process was, remove a lug nut or two, chit-chat, walk around my vehicle, remove another lug nut. Eventually, the tires were rotated and re-installed. Then, over an hour after I got there, John moved my vehicle to the oil change area. After all his hard work, John had to go outside and have a cigarette. While smoking his cigarette at the service bay door he watched my vehicle not being worked on. At some point the oil was finally changed. Another employee came in at 9:12 and gave me my final estimate. He told me I needed a new air filter. I told him I didn't have time for them to go to the cabinet and find a new filter, it would take them too long. "Put that back in there, button it up, I'm tired of waiting, let's go!" A few moments later Nick came in to close out my bill, he asked how it was going. I let him know it was not good. I said I didn't appreciate he and John chit-chatting next to my car while nothing was being done. His response was, "I started working as soon as I punched in." I pointed out that "after" he punched-in didn't help me much because all the time "before" he punched-in he was keeping John from working on my vehicle. Nick's response was a drawn out "Uhhhh." Nick did discount the final bill for making me wait so long and I appreciated that, but I don't know if I'll ever go back. I've been going there for ten years; their service has never been great. The Jiffy in their name cannot be in reference to the speed of their oil changes. I don't know, maybe the Jiffy refers to peanut butter because it sure looked like they were walking through a vat of it. read more

First, waited an hour before they even started- that is not in a jiffy. Second, they use VERY HIGH PRESSURE to sell you a lot of 'services' you don't need, or to buy the most expensive oil (totally unnecessary), or to change all your air filters (and mine were 3 months old!!!). You can do much better elsewhere (I especially like Mr. Lubrication in Seaside). read more

I had know idea there services extend to water pumps, brakes, shocks, radiator flushes, transmission flushes and much more.. JUST ASK I RECOMMEND this Jiffy Lube location without hesitation. Great place. Went in to get an oil change and the staff was extremely friendly. The whole process took about 20 minutes and they told us our options for oil and the prices of each so we could choose. It's a very clean place and very trustworthy as they gave us a good price for the whole process. They checked a few things as well and put more windshield wiper fluid in and let us know when we should get the other fluids checked out and replenished. They did more than what was expected for a great price with great service. We were back on the road in no time. We will surely return here for our car needs. I definitely recommend! read more

I have been going to Jiffy Lube for more than 10yrs. This location was my favorite until they sprayed transmission fluid all over the hood ,, side and roof of our new vehicle. 9 mnths later our car breaks down in the middle of nowhere with my wife alone and stranded. After the car was towed and inspected we were informed that jiffy lube used the wrong transmission fluid. The district manager or the representative for the franchisee told us we will not be reimbursed for lost time or hardship even though my wife missed the first day of a brand new job and another and two other days because of the delays and dealings we had to endure To be continued........ read more

Took my still-under-warranty car to the dealership to get an oil change last week and then (idiotically not checking the oil level) drove on a road trip out to Monterey, CA. Once I was in Monterey I finally checked the oil only to find that the dealership had overfilled it by one quart. Even the invoice showed that they had overfilled it. So I dove over to Jiffy Lube on Abrego Street. Not only did they take me right away, they drained the extra quart without even charging me. They were super nice, super professional, and very careful with the oil level. I double checked afterwards (because now I've learned to do that) and they had it nailed dead on. There was no need for them to be so helpful since the original problem was the cause of the dealership. But they went above and beyond the basics of good service and really helped me out and then didn't even charge. If I lived here I would go there for any of their services without hesitation. Had to sign one document they did not notify me about (had already signed one) and waited again for them to do the oil change. Learned they can't even do a tire rotation. I got an oil change here and they ruined my vehicle. They changed my oil and replaced it with an oil of lesser viscosity. I had a slight oil leak and often top off my fluids. Not long after the oil change my engine was smoking, ALL fluids were dangerously low and there was damage to my head gasket. After couple hundred dollars in repairs, the damage is deemed irreparable and I need to buy a new car. DO NOT GET AN OIL CHANGE FROM THESE AMATEURS! The mechanics who attempted to salvage my engine guessed immediately that I had an oil change from the Abrego Jiffy Lube, apparently they are notorious for ruining vehicles. I have no idea how this location would have a better rating than the seaside location... Absolutely unbelievable! These people at this Jiffy Lube Abrego never cease to amaze me with their horrible horrible service and very very poor professional demeanor. I go to the seaside Jiffy Lube all the time and never have a problem, they're always fast and efficient. Well, I live much closer to the Monterey location so I thought I would go in for an oil change. What an incredibly poor decision on my part. With three guys in the bay and Debora at the front I would've thought and oil change would not be an hour and a half (or longer). As I'm waiting in the lobby and i'm listening to Debora get into personal conversations with customers. Like the old lady who's Family has told her that they want her to move closer to them. Debora on the other hand had decided to play Dr. Phil instead of doing her job. "Don't move in with your family because they're just trying to control you", "you're just trying to take away your independence" and then continued on for another 10 minutes... not only incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate to wrangle people into conversations about their personal lives but pretty horrible advice you want to go that route. Now let's talk about getting your oil changed at Jiffy Lube Monterey... First of all I have repeatedly asked these people not to put my keys in the door and open and close the door as not to scratch the paint (which they didn't listen to last time after I asked them twice, and finally walked up and pulled the keys out of the door myself) but luckily for me this time they didn't even get a chance to ignore my request. After about 30 minutes I looked into the bay and realized not a single car has moved and no one is near any of them. I was told there was some sort of problem with a vehicle but there were three guys in the bay and I would've thought they would be working on other customers vehicles while one of them handles the problem. I ask if they can give me some form of timeline... The guy tells me he can have my truck in the bay in about 20 minutes. So before they even start on my vehicle there telling me 50 minutes not to mention it always takes them twice as long to do my vehicle as the other location. I told them forget it and I got my vehicle and left, I called the seaside location and ask them how they were looking as far as customers and time. They said no problem sir, come on over and will take care of you. I drove to the seaside location just before 6 o'clock... they were extremely professional, changed my oil and now I am on the other side of town (Pacific Grove) at 6:39 PM! Incredibly fast. I'm about to give that location a fantastic rating but as you can tell by this one, Jiffy Lube in Monterey is the last place you want to go and I will never set foot in that place again. Took my 2011 BMW 3 series for an oil change for the first time to any Jiffy Lube and went here for convenience. Paid about $95 which is typical for my car because it uses full synthetic and an extra 2 quarts than most cars. What i didn't expect was the fact that they vacuumed the interior and cleaned the windows. Oil Can doesn't do this! They told me to make myself at home in the lobby. Grabbed a cup of coffee and before I knew it, my Bimmer was ready and parked out front. I wasn't asked a bunch of questions nor was I offered extra stuff I don't need. Very pleasant experience. For a quick and convenient oil change, this is the place to go! They even dress as real mechanics! No silly hats, fancy shirts or bow-ties here folks! read more

Service was fast and efficient. However, when I got in my car to leave, I noticed a message of "Change Oil". They had no idea how to reset it. They tried several times, but I guess they never have seen a BMW before. After watching them flounder for 15 minutes, they finally told me "We don't do that. Take it to the dealer"! Virtually all newer cars have these digital readouts. Why didn't they tell me before I spent $100, that resetting this message was not something they know how to do? Never again. read more

Miss Deborah was so so helpful, patient, and kind explaining everything to me and what I was paying for and how to take better care of my car. The technician, Daniel, was friendly when I came in, and the staff was so kind and helpful. I would highly recommend this Jiffy Lube location, they were thorough, fast, but provided quality service and customer service. I recently relocated to the Monterey Bay area and was in need of an oil change on my new car. A family member recommended this particular Jiffy Lube to me so I thought I'd give them a try. I'm VERY particular with my vehicles, and normally have them serviced at the dealership or another specialized service provider. However, when I read the negative YELP reviews for the local dealership in my area and compared that with the glowing positive YELP reviews for this particular Jiffy Lube, I made the decision to take my initial business to Jiffy Lube. Overall, the experience was very positive and I felt comfortable the entire time. I brought in a pre-printed online coupon and there was no issues using it during my service. Pretty darn good. Quick, easy, pretty cheap. You get the typical "upsell" at the end about this filter, and that fluid, synthetic oil, etc. but I expect that. People don't understand that small businesses that offer cheap prices often rely on a certain amount of sales on the "backend". It's funny how some people get so irritated and hostile about sales of other products. Just get your oil changed and if you don't want the transmission fluid and air filter changed just say "no". Pretty simple. The lady at the front was really cool and gave me a tip on downloading a coupon to save me some dough before I paid. read more
