I noticed the mileage on my RAV4 was about 300 over the due date for an oil change so left work and went to the Darcars Toyota dealership only to be told they couldn't fit me in. There were no appointments available online for at least a week so I asked what about walk ins. The employee told me they were only accepting walk in appointments between 6-11 AM, which is inconvenient for anyone working onsite during the week. So I got online to see what other options were available nearby and this Jiffy Lube location popped up...was open until 7pm and 6 minutes away. I drove over and they started working on my truck immediately. In less than an hour they completed not only my oil change, they also replaced my cabin and engine air filters...all for about ~ $100 less than what the dealership was going to charge me. On October 31st, 2024, we brought our 2001 Lexus IS300 to Jiffy Lube at 3251 Automobile Blvd in Silver Spring, MD for a simple oil change. What should have been a routine service turned into a months-long nightmare due to this location's negligence and complete failure to take responsibility. After paying for the oil change, we were informed that they lost our keys. The staff scrambled to search, but there was no resolution. They promised a refund and said a replacement key would be ready the next day. That promise? Broken. The dealership couldn't provide the key until Saturday, forcing us to rearrange our entire schedule and rely on others for transportation. The "spare key" they eventually provided was from a locksmith they couldn't even verify with us. When we returned the rental car (which we paid for out of pocket), we discovered our vehicle was completely undriveable--it wouldn't accelerate, and the power steering was gone. Jiffy Lube claimed it was due to a preexisting transmission issue, but they had no mechanic on-site to verify this. We then had to pay to tow the car to a dealership, only to be told the transmission fluid was empty. We also had to pay $500 out of pocket for a legitimate spare key--still not reimbursed. This disaster has cost us over $2,000, including: Two rental cars (not one): the second was needed only because the faulty key disabled our car. $500 for the actual replacement key. Time, stress, and energy dealing with their ongoing lack of professionalism. Gas and transportation from coworkers and family to help us commute for weeks. The loss of our original keychain, including personal and sentimental items. We're young and still in school, and this situation has put a serious financial and emotional strain on us. Went here got an oil change. After a little while i noticed my car has an oil leak on my drive way. Took it to my dealer they video and showed me the problem. Another car drove into the service bay AFTER I was there and was being attended to before me. My main complaint here is that no one communicated with me. Well I'll be damned. Papa t and Quintine did the most amazing job. My oil bolt was rounded, 2 places turned me away. Papa T took that off in 5 min. Like wtf....I told him he's a wizard. Man got magic hands. Quintine, amazing customer service, all smiles and happy to answer any questions. All and all super satisfied. Didn't even care what it cost. I went to Jiffy Lube today and have been to Jiffy Lubes in the area. I went in to get my oil changed. I know they have a history of adding things I don't need. Which is fine. The manager E Finney said my total was $172. I asked about breaks and he said the pads being replaced. I said sure. My budget is $500. He then gives me this bill for $920. I shouldn't have signed. I didn't agree to the charges. But breaks shouldn't cost $920. The most I've paid is about $600. This will be the last time I support a Jiffy Lube. More people standing around than actually work I was told $172. I was never called regarding this issue. They have my number on file. No call. I have my phone on. I was never told a total price other than $172 maybe the managers English is bad but I specifically said my budget is $500 and $920 for an oil change, wind shield wipers replaced, acid clean up of battery and break replacing seems extremely high for $920 and if I had known to call the police on this company I would certainly have done so. At the end of the day. I'm probably not going to get my money back. I feel taken advantage of and that's a lesson I will have to learn the hard way. SHADY!! Went in for an oil change and that was done relatively quickly. The list of things that they claim were done but weren't is long though. 1: Vacuum the car. They listed this as completed but it was obviously not done. I asked why and the tech told me because of COVID they don't do floors unless asked. I said why did you list it as "completed" then and he had no answer. 2: Wash windows. This was obviously not done but was listed as completed. I asked why they were claiming it was done and tech had no answer. 3: Windshield washer fluid added. I tried to use my wiper fluid and it was bone dry. I asked why they didn't add fluid and the tech said they were out of fluid. Again I asked why they claimed they added fluid and he had no answer. 4: Check exterior lights. I know for a FACT they never checked my exterior lighting because I already had a brake light out when I arrived at the shop. Tech had no explanation for why they didn't do that check, aside from saying that he was just the tire guy. After all of this I'm wondering if they even changed the oil. SMH. Terrible. Zero stars. They couldn't even preform an oil change correctly. The filter cap wasn't not on tightly enough so it fell off about 2 weeks after I had the oil changed. My engine cut out in traffic, which could have caused an accident. Service at the time of the oil change was also terrible. When I arrived, I told them not to "roll down" my window (it's electric). Guess what. They rolled down the window. The problem? The switch is broken. In short, they could not get it back up. They somehow convinced the shop next door into fixing it, but it took over 2 hours. I got the oil change for free, but I had to spot the guy a 20 at the shop for his help. I wish I could give this place a zero but this is one of the worst places to ever get your car repaired they hire people who know nothing about cars to work on cars how does that work. I've had two instances where I thought I was getting the "Hookup" because they will try to give you estimates that are high but "cut a deal" with no paperwork. They will do a cash job instead of going through the jiffy lube system. If your job is 750 they'll say well do it for 350 cash you just don't get a receipt me sign if they fuck it up you can't really come back and complain about it. I took my truck for a oil change and a filter a change it was 250 they did it for 150 cash which they pocketed. The car literally started smoking when I got home. I had it towed back to the shop they claimed it was the coolant however a few days later my entire AC compressor cut the engine off all because I decided to get work down for 100 dollars cheaper. If you are going to go here always get a receipt and pay full price if you absolutely have to. Go anywhere else this place is terrible I also think the guy that I used to go to originally here got fired for doing this under the table stuff because when I went back a new manager said he was no longer with the company. read more

Oil change this morning was a breeze. I was greeted as soon as I pulled up to the shop. Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Oil change was quick, they went over the inspection results asking if I would like any of flagged items to be taken care of while explaining each item recommended. The worst experience I've ever had at any place that offers services. there is this one mechanic with dreadlocks who was supposed to plug the tire that had a nail on it and instead of doing that he decided to do everything else even though that was dyer and the service that I needed done immediately because I'm not supposed to be driving on my tire. well this guy desides that he doesn't have time to do it and then just says oh well we can't do it because it's too big. It's a nail in the tire! I've gotten tires plugged before and it's able to be done. it's not like it was on the wall of the tire, it's on the flat side of the tire right in the middle so it can be done. I usually take my vehicles there out of necessity and show up earlier than everyone else because I know it'll take up to 2 hours to get a tire rotation and an oil change. I literally got there at 9:30 today and didn't leave until 11:45. This happens EVERY time. The staff is slow, lazy, and careless. This time they sent me off with loose lug-nuts and my car almost drove itself off the road. Luckily I was able to drive back so they could fix it, but I'm looking to get a refund because of this. 2+ hours and you can't make sure my lug-nuts are tight?! Had my oil changed here in the past and they mis-threaded and over tightened the filter case which resulted in a 2-3 hour repair when I went to have my oil changed at another facility today. They basically tried to blame the shop I was at today for breaking it (the shop today showed me first hand the incorrect Jiffy Lube work). Jiffy Lube offered to take a look at it if I brought it by, but how am I supposed to drive there if I am missing an oil filter and cap? I can deal with a mistake, but trying to blame the shop I was at, and offering a solution that doesn't make sense is not good service. read more

"Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me twice, shame on me." I have been a loyal Jiffy Lube customer for the past decade and have a positive opinion of the company. However the Automobile Blvd location gets my vote for the worst jiffy lube in the area. You may be wondering why I have come back to this location when I'm having such negative experiences. This location is 5-minutes from my home but I will no longer be coming here after this recent negative experience. Here are my issues with this location: 1) Time - regardless of when I come in, I have come in at 8am, mid-day, late afternoon, it consistently takes over an hour for the work to be completed. Today I went in for a basic oil change and the visit took 1.5 hours. You may be considering that they were busy and had a full bay of cars and customers. NOPE, it was just me and another lady in the waiting room. Speaking of the other customer, she was told that it would take 15 minutes for her car to be serviced, yet she was still in the waiting room as I left. We had a brief chat and agreed to never come to this location again. 2) Credibility Issues - This location recently added mechanic services on top of their standard oil change services. So they operate like a full auto mechanic shop, however I get the sense that they are not being truthful with their estimates of work. Today I was given three sheets of paper at the end of my 1.5 hour visit documenting additional work needed on my car. The total came to approximately $2,000, however the guy who cashed me out disagreed with one of the estimates and crossed out the item that cost over $1,000 and called the other serviceman an "idiot". Not a good sign. 3) Poor Customer Service - There are a few guys here who are pleasant and make the long wait a little better. However the majority of the staff including the head manager are not very customer service oriented. Customers are kept in the dark when there are delays in completion time, and I have had to go seek someone and ask for updates on my car. Isn't that the responsibility of the staff? Also this location seems to cut corners. One of the perks I enjoy about coming to jiffy lube in general is that they vacuum the interior of my car. Today that didn't happen, was there a change in policy? Come here at your own peril. There are better Jiffy Lubes in the area. College Park, Rockville, and Germantown are three locations I have had very positive experiences. To this day I remember how wonderful my experience was at the Germantown location, and I've only been there once. If you don't mind spending over an hour waiting for an oil change, and then being given inaccurate wait times, and estimates this is your place. However I choose to take my car and business to another location so I don't continue to be fooled. read more

This was my first time at Jiffy Lube in Rockville, and it may have been beginner's luck, but I was very pleased. They took me right away, and all the service people were polite and seemed to know what they were doing. The manager explained why I needed everything, and he went through the car's service records with me to see what had been done and what hadn't. Anyways I take this list to my friend's shop and he tells me: -- Oil leak: it's not a problem (jiffylube told me i needed to fix it immediately) -- Brakes: will last for another year (said the brakes needed replacement) -- Power steering services...I don't even have power steering (jiffylube recommended it) -- Air filters/windshield wipers: they try to charge $80 for these...gotta be kidding me And a WHOLE LOT OF OTHER STUFF that my friend literally said "none of this is urgent and it's all normal". Jiffy Lube made it seem like I had to drop half a thousand bucks on the spot for emergency repairs. 2 stars because at least they change your oil in a decent amount of time. read more

Simple and straightforward. Went in for an oil change. Called ahead, and the lady there told me the shop was not that busy, and they accept walk-ins, so drove right over. The place was a little hard to find, but it's in the middle of an auto park surrounded by car dealerships, so it must be decent, right? The oil change was fast. Maybe waited 30 min. It was my first time there, and on a snow day too, so no idea how busy it gets. Go to jiffylube.com beforehand to check if they're running any specials. I did, and found a $5 off coupon. Installed the oil filter incorrectly on my vehicle during an oil change. This lead to my oil pump failing. After having the problem fixed by a real service department they refused to admit fault and own up to any other damage that could have been caused. Even though the majority of the repair was covered by my vehicles extended warranty they did not offer to compensate me for any lost time even though my vehicle was in the shop for a total of two weeks.
