My grandmother went to this location this week for an emissions test. She's in her late eighties, and they saw her coming. $1800 dollars later she left. What you say! How could an emissions test be so expensive. Well, they completely took advantage of her. They insisted she needed new brakes -WHICH THEY PUT ON WRONG! They put the front and rear brakes on wrong, you could hear her coming a mile away. We were immediately greeted by their team member, and within like 2-3 mins we were checked in. The guy we spoke with was extremely friendly and helpful. As for jiffy lube as a whole , their prices aren't the lowest around, and they typically do try talking you into replacing air filters at a heavy premium (compared to just buying a filter yourself online). However if you come in prepared to say no, I've never been pressured into doing something I didn't want to do. What a peculiar coincidence, that's exactly how many were not working when I went to get them replaced at this Jiffy Lube. There are 3 possibilities: A) I was sold parts I didn't need to replace parts that weren't broken for a misdiagnosed issue B) I was sold defective parts that went bad in 6 months or C) they were never replaced to begin with and I was charged for something that didn't happen. read more

I cannot believe it myself, but my recent visit to this Jiffy Lube completely changed my opinion on the franchise as a whole. I have had the worst experiences with Jiffy Lube in the past (specifically at this location) and swore I'd never return...But I had a flat tire while running errands and was right next to this Jiffy Lube location, so I took my chances. Long story short, these guys gave me five-star service from beginning to end. Not only did they assist me with my flat, but they also replaced all four of my tires at a price that couldn't be beaten. On top of that, the entire service was done after-hours! They could have easily told me they were closed and that I needed to come back the next day, but Jamon, Tyler, and Josh took phenomenal care of me. I was reassured multiple times that they were happy to stay late to make sure I was taken care of. This is a 180º change from the last time I visited this location. This is by far the best customer service I have ever received at any Jiffy Lube and because of that, I already plan to go back for a few other car services in the coming weeks. Do NOT get your brakes done here. We got our brakes replaced with Jiffy Lube at the South Jordan location towards the end of June. It was squeaking really bad soon after, but since we knew that it was normal for new brakes to squeak, we waited a month to see if it would die down. But the squeaking did NOT die down. We took it back today, August 5, and they said that the rotors in the front and back are busted and quoted us over $1k. I called them to express that we just went with them to get the brakes replaced, and why they didn't let us know last time. Or why did they just replace the brakes when the rotors were the real issue?! They replied firmly, "we informed your husband last time of the rotors, but he decided to just go with the brakes." That didn't sound right, so then asked my husband. He said that was a blatant LIE. My husband knows how to fix rotors, and since they're so expensive, he would have just done it himself rather than proceeded with Jiffy Lube. In fact, in only squeaked bad AFTER we got the brakes replaced. I'm pretty sure they destroyed our brakes since it was not having nearly as many issues until we took it to Jiffy Lube to get it replaced in the first place. We will NOT be returning here. read more

They stripped my oil pan so now it needs to be replaced at my dealership for $500, also overfilled my oil, and ripped off a piece of plastic from under my car and told me it was fine while it was literally scrapping against the road driving. BEWARE--this Jiffy Lube location is VERY dishonest and will try to Rip You Off! I had a full service oil change done and was informed my back brakes were "metal-on-metal" and needed to be replaced asap. They also said my battery needed to be replaced and if I was lucky, I may have another 2-3 months. Brakes and batteries are both items Jiffy Lube sells and services. I took my car to my regular mechanic and there was NOTHING wrong with either my brakes or battery! I have 45% life remaining on my back brake's (they are nowhere near metal-on-metal) and when my battery was tested it was 100% fine! Do NOT believe anything they say. Instead of treating us with appreciation and respect for our 7+ years of being regular and loyal customers with our 4 cars, they attempted to rip us off over $350! We will NEVER go back and will warn everyone we know! FYI... as I was researching Jiffy Lube, I learned that 7 years ago there was a national reporter who did an undercover investigation because there have been SO MANY consumer complaints. His investigation showed the majority of Jiffy Lubes either charge customers for work they really didn't do and/or LIE to customers and tell them they need costly repairs they really don't need! Before I left he told me my truck would be pulled in within the next 10min. Went there for an emissions test. There was one vehicle ahead of mine that left within 5 minutes of my arriving. It took almost an hour from the other vehicle leaving for them to complete my emissions. They then took 20 minutes to complete the checking out the customer whose vehicle was completed just ahead of mine. In all it took an hour and a half for a 5 minute test. Let the team lead know my frustration, but he did not seem to care. I will never return to this location and would recommend others against going there as well. read more

Went here for emissions test. Super slow service. Only wanted emissions (which takes 5 min) but they went ahead without our permission & checked fluid levels & air filter. We left the facility 40 minutes later & our vehicle was running like garbage, very loud & losing power. Wasn't sure what they did, but after reading several poor reviews about how they sometimes neglected to reconnect the air filter system properly, my husband checked ours & they had not reconnected the plug in the front. This is a brand new location and I have to say I am happy with it. Its right next to Walmart and Costco so if I end up having to wait for a while I can just walk over to Walmart instead of staying in the waiting room the entire time. So they have been open for almost a month now and the place is still super clean. You can feel that its new. The waiting room is larger than most jiffy lubes ive been to in the past. They don't have a TV though but they do have free WiFi, you just need to ask an employee for the password. The staff were all pretty friendly and helpful at explaining everything. Everytime I come in here they are super nice. Not really the most professional place in the world. However they always do me right, minimal upselling. They show me the filter before they just "assume I want one". Usually really fast unless they are slammed which they have told me. Had a rock chip also replaced. For many years I've used jiffy lube to get "quick" oil changes, and inspect my vehicles. No longer. The last few times I've gone in with a coupon for oil changes and ended up walking out the door spending more then I would have had I not had the coupon to begin with. It's like they add extra charges to compensate for the $20 off coupon. The last time I was in there, I heard a young lady paying $142 for a single oil change so I hopped online and bought 3 oil changes for $99 so I wasn't suckered into spending more than I had planned. When it came time to pay, they said that they'd had to use special oil on my car and it was more then double the $33 that would be allocated for that car's oil change. I was disgusted, but had to do it any way. The next day I had to change oil on another one of our cars. On a recommendation, I went to Burt Brothers in Riverton and spend $29.99 plus tax for a regular oil change. They were much faster than I'd ever waited at Jiffy Lube, and at least $20 cheaper. Since, I've taken in two more cars, one of which I used synthetic oil which cost $59.99. The same oil at jiffy lube would have cost over $100 for synthetic. I'm glad that I found something better. I think most people who walk through the doors at jiffy lube know that they're getting inferior service, but they feel they don't have another option other than the dealer. read more

Came in for a full synthetic oil change and a tire rotation. Tire rotation was 25 and the synthetic oil was 92. I had a $20 off so I was expecting to pay around $100 with tax. When it came time to pay. The total was 140. I asked to see the receipt and they were trying to charge me for the filter and "oil change added". I asked the guy what it meant and he couldn't even tell me so he went and got his supervisor. The supervisor came in didn't even look at me or ask me any questions and took off the $40. I love this location of Jiffy Lube! I have been there twice now, and have not had to wait longer than normal for an oil change. My most recent visit was on a Sunday morning, and the staff was incredibly friendly and quick. They were done with my car in under 40 minutes. Specifically, I think the employee's name was Gavin, was very helpful and did not pressure me to replace anything that I did not want to. However, during my visit I requested both a standard oil change as well as the free brake inspection. They did the oil change quickly and efficiently, but they forgot to do the brake inspection. I don't consider this to be a huge downfall but it would have been nice to have it done all at once. Hence 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, I am happy with this location, and will definitely be back next time my car needs maintenance. read more

I came in here for an oil change because it's close to where I live. My car was only 4 years old and I'd never had any problems with it. The guy helping me at the register told me that my car has a small oil leak and tells me he has a friend who owns a repair shop, would I like his number. I said nope thank you. I'd not even seen a drop of oil anywhere, so I wanted to take it to my guy for a second opinion. Fast forward a month or so and now, not only do I have a pretty good oil leak, but my car dies every time I stop and when I let off the gas. Finally I make it in to my guy expecting to pay a lot of money for major car repairs, instead, I'm told that my oil filter was #1, not the correct one for my car, and #2, they didn't not put it on tight enough. All my guy had to do was screw it on tighter and no more oil leak. I'm not a mechanic, so I ask, is this a thing where just time can cause this? My guy said nope. It was not put on tight/right to begin with. What I was envisioning to be an expensive repair was just the cost of another oil change with an honest repairman. Over the summer I took my truck in to get a simple oil change. 40 miles down the road & I start to feel heat on my legs. I check my oil level only to discover I had about 1/4 my engines requirements. Long story short-Rod knock & a engine rebuild on a already new engine. A few weeks ago I asked them the pricing for new brake shoes, shoe hardware, pads, calipers, and cylinders. They wanted to charge me $820 for at most $400 worth of parts & two days at their shop. I decided to try the job myself and it cost less than 400 and took a Saturday. My first brake job... Never ever use this location. A few days ago a family member said he was on his way there to get his trucks oil changed, I told him not to do it but he gave them the benefit of the doubt. They did let me know my brakes were low and wanted to charge a total of $320 to do that which I declined because it was so overpriced. I asked for a regular oil change and a tire rotation for my trip to Vegas later that day. She very rudely comes back in and says, "we aren't going to rotate your tires. Your back ones are much better than the front and we can't change them." It's not what you say sometimes, it's how you say it. And her tone was beyond rude, like she could care less about helping me. As far as jiffy lubes go. This may be the worst I ever went to. 2 hours for 2 oil changes with 1 car in front of us. We took in 2 cars. 1 car was done for 30 minutes and they said nothing. The other car was pulled out front and sat for 20 minutes once they finally said they were done we went out and the car left in front had been sitting running the whole time.
