We came Monday AND Tuesday we loved it so much!! The sandwich was fresh and spectacular!! We were so impressed with the bread, meat and produce...it was such a terrific combo!! The bread was fresh and delicious, we got turkey and it was not salty, we got the works (a pickled pepper and oil combo) just delish! Lettuce, tomato and avocado spread! A small was big enough for us to share! They do their sandwiches to order but are super quick...one on the register and one making sandwiches! Such a cute place with all the fun signs! They do have one bathroom inside for your convenience I took home 2 sandwich loaves from the "day before" pile for .50...they were EXCELLENT!!

Now it's a husk of its former self. Everything is more closed off and outright more business than anything. It's now just a place to get food and nothing else.

This is my 2nd time catering from the Downey Jimmy John's location so I thought it was time to add a review. I've been very pleased with both times I've ordered from here. The first time I was impressed at how fresh the bread was and how nicely all the sandwiches were done and neatly packed. The second time was the same. Everything came out great. I would highly recommend this location when you need to cater sandwiches. I will definitely be coming back.

My first time at Jimmy John I was really surprised about sub I order the Country Club it was so good so many flavor in this sub including the meats,cheese especially the bread I really enjoy. My wife order the chicken Caecar wrap she love it very much. The service was good and staff was very friendly and restaurant was really clean. We enjoy the sub and wrap at Jimmy John.

Good spot for a quick tasty sandwich. Used to love coming here for the Frenchie but after they got rid of it I've stopped coming to this chain as often. They are quick but not as consistent or tasty as Jersey Mike's so I usually opt for that instead when I'm craving an Italian Sub. My go to here is the Spicy East Coast Italian. I tried their tuna recently but it was terrible. The amount of tuna they gave is absurd. I really wish they'd bring back the Frenchie.

So we decide to come here to eat its 11:10 the restaurant is close I try to open the door and the worker screams trough a close door were not open. Really how unprofessional is that theres other costumers waiting they dont ceme out to let us know what's going on. So I call and they said no were where not open yet, and I said I believed you guys open at 11 and she said yeah well one manager didnt show up and we have no bread. Really what a lovely excuse!! She said come back in about 45 min. Ugh so irritating and unprofessional!!! read more

EXCELLENT service and delicious meals offered daily. One of my favorite places for lunch or dinner. The "Turkey Tom" is my all time preferred choice. Their bread is always soft and their ingredients are always fresh. No matter if I dine in or call for delivery, I am never disappointed with their food or service. So happy there is finally a Jimmy Johns in Downey!! I've been to quite a few locations and this one is by far the best!! Amazing customer service with the sweetest staff and very clean! I try to eat as healthy as possible so I get the beach club on an unwhich (instead of bread the sand which is wrapped in lettuce). Everything is amazing here from the sandwiches to the cookies! On top of that by far the fastest service in store and delivery!! So cheap for the amount of food you get too!! I will definitely be a regular here! read more

I'm so picky when it comes to my food. I'm not a vegetarian but I prefer not to eat meat often. So finding places that does veggie sandwiches is SO hard. So when my girl friends took me here I was nervous but they nailed my order to a T. I really loved it and will be eating here more now. read more

I went into Jimmy Johns today during lunch around 1 there was a little bit of a lunch rush but the cashiers still got around to explaining the menu to me. I asked my cashier what her name was because she was very helpful and had the biggest smile I think her name was Paige or sage I couldn't hear that well because of the other customers but it was the all time best customer service around definitely a 5 star place. I got the number 12 as the cashier recommended and it was AMAZING! read more

Never been to Jimmy Johns before but always wanted to try it so I was happy to know it was opening because I work in the shopping center. Went in after work & everyone was friendly & helpful. Got the Vito & it was delicious. I like the fact they gut the bread, it was unusual but I'm glad I tried it. Will definitely be hitting this spot frequently! Thanks Jimmy Johns! read more

I am actually pretty disappointed this time around. I ordered online last time and my order was perfect, this time I decided to order in the store. I haven't even approached the cashier yet and the sandwich maker was already asking my order. When the guy in front of me was done paying, I went up to the cashier and ordered my sandwich with extra lettuce, ez onion, and ez cucumber. Once I mentioned it, the sandwich boy opened his eyes wide as if it was so much to ask. From one queer to another, lose the attitude or get another job. I paid 8 dollars for my sandwich and it's sloppy and not made with any care. I'm done with this location. read more

Jimmy johns has a motto "freakn' fast" they live up toot both in shop and with delivery I ordered the beach club on wheat today with a jalapeño chips bag that was about five minutes ago and I've already received my order to my house I am A regular at Jimmy John's their In shop crew Is amazing. If you have Never been to a Jimmy John don't worry just tell them they will explain the whole menu to you and in detail, The cashiers are amazingly patient with orders so take your time just to let you know they make sandwiches in 30 seconds so by the time you're about to pay your sandwich should be up. Let's say you're really picky and you don't like veggies mayo mustard or any of that stuff on your sandwiches don't worry they actually have a menu list called "Slims" which has only the meat and cheese or just meat or just cheese whatever the case Jimmy John's has great customer service, freaking fast really clean and all-around a great place to eat. read more

Never tried their food , but I live next to Downey high school about 1 and half miles from there , the girl tells me that they can't deliver that far , lol and they claim to deliver ...so basically if you re more than a few blocks away . Don't bother asking for deliveries , cooperate needs to loosen up a bit , otherwise don't advertise that they deliveries read more

I tried talking to the person inside, but they rudely shouted "we're closed." I explained that I had ordered through the website, but he said it didn't matter. I asked for a refund because I couldn't wait until they reopened, and he refused. It wasn't until I raised my voice that he said he cancelled my order and that I'd get my refund in a week. Horrible customer service. Management needs to take this opportunity to retrain the staff. Update: The owner reached out to me, acknowledged what happened, and made sure everything was taken care of. It's clear he genuinely cares about the customers. I appreciate the quick response and the effort to make it right.

The service is fantastic, unfortunately I do receive my orders consistently slightly wrong, not exactly how I order it. That said, it usually tastes better than I expected. If you ask me,"where would you like to go and eat"? My choice is either the Habit, In-N-Out. I like good taste and consistency. If I saw this in a painting, or a big photo in a frame, then a different angle showed the plenteous parking, I would think, this looks like a soon to be favorite place of mine. Well lit, clean and modern. But pictures, and paintings don't reveal volume. I had 3M push-in ear-plugs in, and even with them in the grinding noise felt just too small of a distance away, but palpable, and too loud. Our church has a concert like praise band every Sunday-my ear plugs do a great job muting it down. The general staff-hourly were quite nice- I could never work there though, or spend a relaxing time with room on both ends of eating because the "mood music" felt overwhelming, dominating the experience. I looked around and people didn't seem to be aware of it. My wife admitted it was quite loud. We ate, but left soon after because the music/noise was un-ignorable. Escaping out to the parking lot was a sweet relief. I went home feeling full, but drained. The freshness, and flavor was identical to Nexxburger on Florence, but about twice the price even with a BOGO coupon! Semi-pricey burgers, with overly-amped music, made it a fight for me to endure. Nexxburgers music gets loud, but not like the the Habit. I would make it in here often if they had light music, or none. We'll choose peace instead. Unfortunately, eating at the habit, will not become a habit for us.

They should've put that in the billboard instead of the nuggets, to be honest. It's a perfect spot for a good lunch, with fast food seating and open kitchen. Service was friendly, and the wait was understandable because at the time of my visit there's only two people handling everything.

I have a business around the corner from this particular jimmy johns so we've ordered a lot from them in the past. A couple weeks ago I had a very bad experience with this restaurant over a side of peppers I know seem ridiculous needless to say the manager or managers handled it very poorly. All I wanted was the side I ordered with my delivery and when I called they assured me they would send them right over. This was after waiting almost 45 minutes for my order to be delivered. When the delivery guy showed up I asked why it took so long and he stated they ran out of bread and that they should of called me which they didn't. I said that's fine so I paid him and he left. Then when I notice no peppers and it's clearly printed on the receipt I decided to call and ask if they could please send some over. Well after the first no show I called again and ask to speak to the manager again and they said he or she was off and that she was the new manager that had just came in so I explained everything again and she offered me a free sandwich and she would send it right over with the peppers. I told her she didn't have to send over another sandwich just the peppers. I wasn't looking for a hand out or anything free just my peppers. Well after another hour and no peppers I called and spoke to her and she stated that I told her I didn't want anything and that's why she didn't send me anything. I got frustrated and just said that it was ridiculous and told her I would not be ordering from them anymore and hung up. I emailed the corporate office and they got back to me in a couple days and they said the franchise owner was told about it and that they would call me. Well its been a couple of weeks and no call or even an email from owner guess that where the employees learned it from. All I wanted was my peppers no free sandwich or voucher or anything just my side of peppers. Thanks to poor customer service I will no longer order from jimmy johns read more

I had always been told that Jimmy John's was the best place to get a sandwich/sub so I decided to give it a try. I walked in and I was not greeted, the employee (Emily) asked me if I was ready to order & I smiled told her that I wasn't since it was my first time there and I didn't know what to order. She responded that she would give me more time & never suggested or explained how they work. The way she responded made me feel like I was taking up her time. I assumed that it was like Subway and you tell them what you want as they prepare it. So I told her what type of sub I wanted but I was never asked if I wanted to add anything to my sandwich. I am very disappointed, especially on their customer service. read more

horrible customer service jessica the cashier was being unattentive as the other cashier whose name i didnt get but he was some skinny young guy with piercings. Walked in and wouldnt even take my order or asked me when i was ready he was to busy pretending to count his register while talkin to i guess was the main manager which was some young surfer dude rich silverspoon mofo. Asked for avocado spread they charged me extra and didnt even get it in the sandwich fuck this place and its bitchy ass attitude employees will never come back again this place use to be good now it just sucks get your employees on check worst customer service. read more

If you want a good, fast, quality sandwich Jimmy Johns is the place for you! Some of the best customer service around. I ordered the Turkey Tom and it was so good! I literally paid and got my sandwich which is perfect as I don't have a lot of time on my break. They have all natural meats no preservatives and you can definitely taste the difference from soggy nasty deli turkey you get at most places. On top of it they deliver. Yes no more pizza when I don't feel like going out to order some food. Thanks Jimmy. Welcome to Downey I'll be back. read more

The whole secret to this place is what time you go and who the crew is that is making the sandwiches. When I go here during the day the sandwich's are 5 star excellent. However I came on a Saturday evening all guys working and the sandwiches were not good. People that evening seemed more interested in talking to each other than making the sandwiches. Had to look outside on the sign to make sure I was at the same place. I recommend you go during the day, your order will be ready sooner and taste better. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Look if you are looking for something with a million different options this isn't your place. The sandwiches are pretty good, but what makes it so great is how fast it is!
