I went in to grab a late lunch on 5/13, I placed my order nobody in front or behind me and only a few online orders they were working on. I'm at my table with my drink and chips on my phone and realized that everyone is gone from the front work area, everything is clean and I have no sandwich. I walk up to ask and the worker "yelp won't let me post names, we will address the employee as E" is in the back talking to another employee with my sandwich "#42" that was made 11 mins prior in her hand!! . The employee E acted like a lil kid playing the "you give it to him game with only us in the store and I can hear and see everything"!. This isn't E's first time messing up my order, "this time E didn't know it was my order and we do not know one another or have any reason to be negative with one another, I went there in March and the same person E messed up my order after telling the employees what I ordered and the cashier having my order E repeated twice rung for me to pay. When I received my wrong order E tried telling me that's what I ordered "yet everyone else including what I paid for proved E was wrong" E then tells me in front of everyone "you're lucky I'm going to remake your order"! E was the one that messed up and everyone there knew, E was not trained properly, E isn't made for this line of customer service The worst part is jersey mikes email complaint dept has left me hanging with nobody to yet reply to me, the Downey phone line has been a busy signal since that event may 13th. Always had good success at this location, its my go-to! Jersey Mike's has the best sandwiches - i get the roast beef or the club supreme. Everyone is always very nice and the restaurant is usually clean (including bathrooms). They are also respectful of my husband's gluten intolerance. He loves their red relish. I love that they sell miss vickie's chips here but i wish they would come back with the original flavor. But lately they've had spicy pickle so i get that instead! I will keep coming here. I ordered a Bacon Ranch Chicken Cheese Steak sandwich for pickup. 30 minutes, the app said. Fine. I pulled up about 25 minutes later and walk in. First of all, all 4 employees were just back there shooting the shit, as if they had no work to do. Meanwhile, the store looked filthy. I even realized upon getting my drink cup that there were no regular size lids out and maybe a handful of large ones. What happened to store maintenance and cleanliness? Anyway, I was greeted upon entry and after giving the girl my name, she reflexively says "they're working on that for you." Mind you, again, there was no working going on. Further, my sandwich was sitting right there on the back counter, unbagged. I mean, hello? So after jumping out of autopilot and consulting with her coworkers, she realizes that's my sandwich and starts putting it in the bag. Then just kind of gets sidetracked? Then another girl comes over and asks which chips I had and puts them in the bag. I told them not to seal it but she did it anyway then she gave me the cup, I got my drink, and noticed the lack of tops. So I get one of the girls to come over and she gives me a top. She's nice, this is fine. Then I get in my car and check my sandwich because I've learned not to trust my order will be correct in this day and age, and find the note on the wrapper saying they are out of ranch. At no point in the 30 minute order processing time did anyone on staff think to themselves, hey, maybe we should call and let her know WE DON'T HAVE ONE OF THE INGREDIENTS IN THE FUCKING SANDWICH TITLE. *Heavy sigh* So I go home, put MY OWN RANCH on this sandwich I paid full price for, and decide I am just done eating out. This is my last straw. The only places that have never failed me are In N Out and Taco Bell. Probably the only places I'll ever go now, if I ever bother again. So appreciated these days. Each kids meal was $6.45. Not bad considering it was a fairly loaded sandwich with a cookie and drink. A small bag of chips was $1.95. I like the regular #42. It's the Chipotle Chicken Cheesesteak ($9.75). Not a bad meal for a late night with the kiddos after karate classes. It's located at the Downey Promenade shopping center adjacent to Floor & Decor. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GOING HERE... the SERVICE IS HORRIBLE and the STAFF ARE RUDE! Went to Jersey Mike's at around 6:30 p.m. and was told that they were out of bread. Jayla was very dismissive and her customer service was subpar at best. Jayla proceeded to stare at a receipt and did not even have the decency to provide how long it would take until they would have bread again or if there was some sort of malfunction that attributed to the issue of not having bread to make sandwiches. Jayla was distracted looking at a receipt and was too preoccupied to provide proper customer service and set the proper expectation of how long the wait would be. Note I was the ONLY a customer in the store at this time. I, THE CUSTOMER had to ask how long the anticipated wait for more bread would be, in a very condescending and rude tone the clerk replied the bread is in the oven, to which I replied how long will it be before you have bread available. The clerk proceeded to say, "well the bread is cooling off in the oven so it will be about 25 minutes." I set a timer for 25 minutes and proceeded to go to a few stores in the same vicinity. After 25 minutes I returned to Jersey Mike's, the clerk who helped me was in the back with her other female colleague and proceeded to chuckle and laugh in the back while me and 2 other customers waited for them to come out from the back. After about 2 minutes, the clerk comes out and advises me with a straight face, "WE RAN OUT OF BREAD AGAIN. WE made 2 trays but it is gone again." The fact that the clerk did not set proper expectations, had me waiting and when I returned still did not have bread after advising me that they would in 25 minutes. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE and very Disappointing. I have never been met with such incompetence. Save the headache go to Jimmy John's in the Downey Landing instead!
