No question in my mind that the Gargantuan is the perfect sub sandwich. If it had a drizzle of oil and vinegar with pickled onions it would supersede perfect. But the onions are fresh and with extra lettuce the blend of texture and taste has yet to be matched at any other shop. I don't know what else to say, fast service and great product. We were a little apprehensive but decided to give them a go. We were not disappointed. I was greeted kindly and had my order taken immediately. They seemed shorthanded but who isn't in this COVID pandemic mess. I felt the 2 gentlemen working did a fabulous job in providing service & prepping our sandwiches. Today, we tried Jimmy John's Unwich, lettuce wraps. Delicious! I had, and loved, the Ultimate Porker Unwich, #17 / $6.25, and my wife had the Billy Club Unwich, #8 / $6.25. The clever paper wrapping prevents the wrap from coming apart and creating a giant mess. You peel the paper back as you eat -- very clever, easy and neat eating. Don't get me wrong, I think Jimmy John's 7-grain bread and the rolls are the best in the fast-food business ... but you can save a pocket full of carbs and calories by going the "Unwich" route. I am really impressed with the way Jimmy John's has kept the quality consistently high and the service fast and friendly throughout the multitude of restaurants. I have eaten at more than a dozen different locations, in several states, and fast, courteous and cheerful service is the rule, and this location (#2355) is no exception. I think their prices are competitive, and their made-to-order sandwiches are great. What's not to love in an Unwich? Fresh, crisp lettuce, meats and veggies. I also love the bottomless beverages, Kettle-style chips, excellent cookies and really fabulous "half-sour" pickles. Jimmy John's is our go-to sandwich ... and now lettuce wrap ... joint. I usually like Jimmy John's, but this time was an exception. Maybe it's just this store. I usually go to South Salem. In short, if this had been my first time at any Jimmy John's, it would have been my last time. I like Unwiches. My favorites are the #10 (roast beef) or the #15 (tuna). So, this trip, I ordered the #15. When I got the sandwich a minute or so later, I sat down to eat it, and it was just blah. Pay close attention.... I was on Lancaster today and decided to swing by Jimmy Johns real quick for a sandwich. The kid taking my order was very nice. He took my order, exchanged cash, etc. BUT I noticed that we took my cash, then jumped on the line to help out making food. He did NOT change his gloves or washed his hands between handing me my change... and going knuckles deep in sandwich ingredients. I was just about to ask for the manager to let him/her know but didn't want to get the kid in trouble. I walked out, threw my sandwich away then walked over to greasy Wendy's for a burger (unfortunately). As I didn't want to get the kid in trouble/fired. Ordered for delivery of two sandwiches. First sandwich came , but was missing all the additives I selected including the avocado I paid extra for. The 2nd sandwich didn't show up at all. After waiting 40 minutes for them to arrive. Which the time didn't bother me. The issues I had was calling to get this taken care of. The only options they had were to get the sandwich much later or get in-store credit. If you're going to order Jimmy John's, know this: Their meats are not quality. In fact, they're worse than Subway. They can slice their meats in house daily, but that doesn't detract from the fact that they are, in fact, the chewed and glued kind. Your best best is to go with the Italian Night Club. It's comprised of cured meats, and since all cured meats are really the same, you're safe. If you want a quality meat sandwich, go to Fred Meyer, buy Boar's Head, and make one at home. read more

I would not order a sandwich from here EVER again, portion of bacon on my BLT was good but for the price... umm.... it would be nice to get bread that is NOT hard on the outside and chewy when you bite into it. This place is a joke. I ordered the combo with a drink, sandwich and chips for $6 which is a good deal, right? No, I wanted a sandwich with turkey, cheese, lettuce and mayo but had to pay $.75 to add cheese which is stupid because the other sandwiches came with cheese. So whatever, well I stood there for a few minutes with no directions on how to get the sandwich because they don't call it out or anything they put it on the counter and you have to go up and read the receipt, just weird. Well i get my sandwich and its tiny, they put hardly anything on it, I know my sandwich was simple but there was hardly anything at all, subway is way better and I should've went there. Then I get back to work just to realize the chips are made with 100% Peanut oil which I am extremely allergic to!! Thank god I didn't eat one yet or I would've had an awful reaction where my throat closes and I cant breathe! They need to be mindful for people with serious allergies. I just ordered from this Lancaster location. Bread was hard and hardly any mayo. Receipt states my pickle was supposed to be quartered but was only halved. Called restaurant back and they offered to bring me a new sandwich. Great but I'm on my lunch break and wouldn't have time to eat it. I informed them I ate about a third of my sandwich before tossing it. Their next best solution was to make a note of my account to use the softest bread next time. I work in a customer service oriented job and that was some of the worst customer service I have ever received. There won't be a next time with this location. My first time eating at this restaurant and I live in Los Angeles area, and we thought we would try this place out there in Salem, and we were not disappointed. "Freaky fast"? My sandwich took over 20 mins to get here. Not only that but they dropped it off across the my work, not where I asked them to. I started to walk over where they told me they were. Then I get a text from the driver saying he was now where I told him to drop it off, so I had to walk back across my job. Mind you it's not a short walk, tons of doors and security exits. Ordered a sandwich today because I was in a hurry & needed something delivered. It never showed up. There were a few phone calls on my phone, which leads me to believe they tried to call, but they didn't leave a message so I would know which of the numbers to call back, & neither of the numbers were the store number, & by the time I realized it had been an extraordinary amount of time, it was too late to call & reorder as I was working with a short time frame. This location is physically like all the rest, where they yell HELLO when you walk in and you almost fall over from the weight of the sound. They are fast, and we like the sandwiches, the Beach Club and the Italian Night. After a hideous day of driving in horrible weather, shopping at IKEA, cleaning and building the IKEA furniture with its million pieces, exhausted and hungry we called Jimmy John's for some delivery sandwiches. The guy taking our order was super friendly! We ordered 3 sandwiches and sides to be delivered to our hotel room. Delivery was super fast!! The sandwiches were delicious!! I had the #3 totally tuna sans tomato and added provolone and onions. It literally was the best tuna I've ever had! The tuna sub was packed with tons of yummy tuna and crispy cucumber. It really hit the spot! I had a side pickle... or should I say a JUMBO pickle! This is definitely not your average pickle slice!! Jimmy John's was so good we had it two nights in a row! Today three of us had lunch at JJ's. Only one of us was happy with our sandwiches. He had the tuna. I had a B.L.T., it had almost enough bacon, too much lettuce, and barely any tomato. The bread was chewy and a bit tough. The chips were kind of hard, not crunchy hard. There was only one employee wearing gloves while handling the food, but 3 of them were making sandwiches. One guy kept rubbing his nose and then handling food without washing his hands. The young lady that greeted us was the one bright spot of our whole lunch. She had a sweet genuine smile and friendly attitude. She, however, will not be enough to bring us back ever again. read more
