Went here to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. We arrived and were seated right away. Everything went downhill from there. I will point out the food itself was great. The service was absolutely horrible. Bad enough that I will not return as it ruined the whole experience. The waiter never explained the types of cuts of steak which left me with a very fatty NY Strip. My G/F ordered the filet which you could cut with a butter knife. Which she was forced to do because the waiter never brought a steak knife. I am recovering from throat cancer treatment and can eat but just need a lot of water. Which again the waiter never felt the need to check on us at all. I expected a high end steakhouse. What I got was terrible service with great food. Can't have one without the other when you're charging over $50 per meal. So we will not be back...EVER. read more

My favorite beef in the world is waygu. Waygu steaks melt in your mouth like butter. They're divine. So when I saw the menu at Jimmy P's, I was so dang excited. I excitedly ordered the filet. But what a let down, the waygu filet here was just okay. On top of that, our server was somewhat aloof. She was great one minute and then completely disconnected the next minute. The rest of my meal was average. That being said, evidently the burgers were tasty. But again, my waygu filet was definitely not worth the price. read more

I've been to Jimmy Ps the last 5 times I was in Naples. I love a good steak, and I always look for steakhouses that impress. I love this place. I learned of this restaurant from a local, and I always like to try to nice local favorite. This restaurant is not what you'd expect. It's in a strip mall, and as you walk in, you enter a butcher shop. The restaurant is attached to the butcher shop, so you theoretically could pick out your own meal. The food and wine selections are expansive. They offer steak and seafood. I've had both, and have been blown away by both. I always order the octopus appetizer. It's charred and cooked to perfection and always delicious. I like to usually order the surf and turf - a filet and lobster tail served with asparagus and mashed potatoes. It comes in at $52 and it's a great value for the money. I tried something different last time and ordered the NY strip with a Demi glacé. The steak was fine ... I've had better, but I will dream of that Demi glacé until the day I die. I wanted to bathe in it. I want to put it on everything I eat from now until forever. It was so so so delicious. A member of my party ordered the Wagyu ribeye. Amazing marbling and so incredibly tender. Another member of our party ordered the Tomahawk Ribeye. IT IS MASSIVE! This thing comes out with a humongous rib bone attached to it. It's impressive to look at, and impressive to eat. The service is always quick and efficient. The food always comes out timely, even when it's a packed house. Make reservations early - especially on Friday and Saturday. This place fills up fast. Here for lunch. Was able to get the REUBEN with PASTRAMI instead of corned beef. I asked for lean pastrami and got it. Was delish! Comes with a side. I added another. Great portion, very reasonable and more importantly, delicious!!! My only gripe was that the bread seemed lightly toasted, not grilled as mentioned. Big difference. Hard to find here in Naples. So much better than the new Too Jays in Mercato that has fatty pastrami. So, if ordering, make sure your server knows. And the sides I had were great as well. Crispy fries and a creamy cole slaw. We have been to Jimmy P's many times. Our guests like for us to take them there... The last few times have been disappointing. Last night was the same. They had a 3 course meal. Several of our group ordered this. Appetizer, soup or salad and an entre. They must has started the steaks at the same time as the soup... The steaks were cold. We sent one back as it was not edible. I ordered chicken as i was afraid to order a steak for fear it would come out wrong again... By the time my sons steak came back out the rest of us were finished. WOW. Don't let the exterior fool you. The interior dining is small so take the time to make a reservation. This place is a MUST. We had: the scallops appetizer, perfection!! Very nicely cooked and the corn salad had a great char and flavor. Highly recommend this appetizer!! My husband had Prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus which was very good, the flavor was perfect and the seasoning made you want to keep eating even after you were full. Special occasion, date night or getting the gang together for a great meal, Jimmy P's is the place. Had heard the accolades but had never been, so when 7 college buddies came to town for the weekend, that's where I booked us. All 8 of us marked the meal we had in top 5 of anywhere we had been! The steaks were amazing, as were the lamb chops I had. All of the apps, desserts, wine choices, and service were outstanding. Highest quality across the board, but totally comfortable and casual setting. Heck, the restaurant is attached to Jimmy P's butcher shop, which was very cool to walk thru and check out also. NY strip was the best I've ever eaten. 1,200 degree cooking and a chef with a deft hand put a great char on the outside but left it juicy light pink on the inside. Every steak ordered by our party of eight, from Wagu to # 7 marbling, was fantastic. All sides were perfect and quite tasty. At lunchtime they put out the best smoked pastrami on the planet. What a gem! Loved this place in Naples. My husband's coworker recommended this place highly. We had lunch here a few weeks ago and the place was packed. They even had a table in the deli section that was full. Lol. Everybody had steaks and salad on their plates. I asked another patron what was the speciality at Jimmy P's. She quickly replied the "Steak Special". It's on Thursday's lunch special. Our waiter recommended we order ours Pittsburg Style and it was mouth watering. We waited 30 minutes for our table and it was so worth it. It was cooked to perfection and the salad it comes with was great. We happened to be in Naples today and we went again for lunch. My husband try the Pastrami sandwich and it was delicious. The marble rye it's served on is amazing. I tried the waygu steak salad and it didn't disappoint. Again, cooked to perfection. You can also buy you steak there and grill it yourself at home. They have an amazing butcher shop on one side and the other side has a bar and a few tables. Jimmy P's is now my go to spot in Naples. I had heard about this off the beaten path cool steak house. The entrance is a bit strange, you walk through the butcher shop to the back, that is where the hostess stand is. We did not have reservations and waited only about 10 minutes for a table. It happened to be a Prime Rib night, but I decided to ask our server for his recommendation, he suggested the New York strip, so thats what I got. It was amazing. Charred perfectly on the outside and a great medium rare on the inside. The seasoning was amazing. I saw that everyone received a full garlic roasted and served on your plate, which was really exciting as I often ask for that at steak houses. But they apparently ran out and our table did not get any. A couple of people ordered the prime rib special. I have to say, I was a bit jealous of them after taking a bite. It was really goooood! We did order some side dishes for the table. Non of them really stood out and honestly we didn't eat much of them. Our steaks were the stars! The atmosphere was very small and very dark. You enter through their butcher shop and then to the restaurant. We were seated almost immediately and our waiter Eddie did a fantastic job explaining the menu and about their Wagyu meat. Let me tell you before I go in to the food that Eddie was probably the best waiter I have ever had, period. The service was absolutely amazing. My Wife ordered the special, which was the shell steak which is the end cut of a New York Strip. The grade was A7 Wagyu with a Bleu cheese crab sauce with vegetables and I had the sliced A7 Wagyu New York Strip with lyonnaise potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Ok so I'll just Sum it up here. Maybe it's the Wagyu, maybe it's the char. Although I'm sure it's a combination of that and the fact that they also butcher their own meats on site. Ambience: it's pretty low-key actually. It's located ina strip mall, and the butcher shop is the main entrance to the restaurant. I like it a lot myself, but those who want valet parking and a 5-star lobby may want to go elsewhere. You come here for the food. Service: We sat at the bar because the restaurant was full. We were told Cristina (bartender) would take care of us - and she definitely did. Very friendly, not overbearing, and made some great recommendations. What we got: Brussels sprouts (with bacon) - good! No major twists to the dish, just solid sprouts. Malbec - Cristina recommended a great Malbec called the Trevino. Had a great flavor to it - malbecs can be hit or miss, and this was a hit. Wagyu burger - this was a great burger. The meat was awesome - they didn't need to salt or pepper it, the consistency was very good, flavor was just beef (you could tell its butcher quality), and the presentation was great (branding the bun was a nice touch!). They cooked it perfectly, and the shoestring fries were a perfect blend of gourmet but trashy (like fries should be). Not too greasy, but not boojie fries. Their spiced ketchup was very good too! Pot de creme - the surprise for me here was that It was cold...usually this has been a warm dish for me. Service was indifferent...from the check in with the hostess to our server. Neither were rude but seemed distracted like they had other things on their mind besides ensuring we had a good dining experience and the place was not super busy. 2. I had a Wagyu burger and I honestly don't know what all the hype was about. The bun was nothing substantial and borderline stale and the burger was overcooked and had no flavor. For the price it didn't meet my expectations at all. 3. The others in our dining party had different items but were not any more impressed than I was. I always considered this place five stars. I don't know if there is a new head chef or if things are changing because of Covid but the food is not the same. Last trip I got the Jalapeño burger I get every time for the last few years and it was different and not for the better. Today I got the Berkshire pork sandwich that was my second favorite.
