It is incredibly difficult to master a pizza that is not only delicious hot and fresh but is even delicious when it's sitting at a buffet. Jim's has mastered it. Our first time here tonight and not only does the crust have a flaky crisp to it but the staff is friendly and it feels like home. The gentleman apologized for us not having a server - they are short staffed like everyone else right now - but there was zero reason for an apology. Not only was this by far the worst pizza restaurant I've ever experienced but I will go even a step further by saying this place makes Cici's pizza look like a Del Frisco's steakhouse!!! Final note mr restaurant owner, when checking out a customer at the register and you ask "how was everything?" And the customer replies with terrible, food was cold and looked like it had been sitting for hours your que might be to say hey sorry it was so awful and at the very least offer a comp for the next visit.... Superstar Pizza!!! The whole family loves going here! We dine in for the buffet and it's always hot and fresh! The white sauce chicken is delicious. Salad bar is always stocked and fresh. Employees decided to close an hour early. The open sign was still on and door open. We drove 25 minutes to visit the new location. I was told they closed early and there was nothing they could do. Young girl asked if I wanted a manager. Erin was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. Called my wife a bitch. Never will return. I called to find out the owner's name and spoke with real manager, Aaron. He wasn't much help. Said he was out back taking a break and he'd "handle it", as he sounded annoyed. No one in this restaurant wear mask. Tables are close together and not spaced apart at all. My wife was sick to her stomach before we even got home, I got sick this morning. The pizza crust is more like cardboard, they stack fresh/uncooked pizzas on top of each other before putting them through the oven (considering cross contamination) The buffet stays empty and slim pickings, the staff seemed frazzled and there was not an even flow for the processes that were going on. I'm a McKinney native. I've eaten pizza from Jim's as far back as I can remember. I moved away to SC 4 years ago. And I make it a point to always have some pizza from my fave place. The last two times I've eaten it. It seems different. It's topped as usual, with my fave toppings. But the sauce seems different. The pizza crust isn't crunchy like it used to. I called it and the guy basically told me too bad and that they somehow did not receive the order. We we're handed the pizza with no drink, the cashier said we needed a coupon for the drink. Seriously!! It's 102 degrees outside and we couldn't have our drink . Jim's pizza is the absolute BEST. We discovered them years ago when we lived down the road and even though we have moved, we still make the 20 minute drive to get our favorite- the Jim's Combination. I love their thin, crispy crust and they get their toppings right to the edge. The Jim's Combo is so full of toppings you almost need a fork to eat it! Our other favorites are: cheese bread, the chicken bacon ranch, and classic pepperoni on thin crust. Really good thin crust pizza. We usually get a large 'Jim's Combination'. Little bit of everything on a really thin crisp crust. I like to add red pepper after it's on the table. Crust is never soggy. Tonight we got 'meat lover's special'. Two kinds of sausage, ham, bacon, peperoni. It was good but I'll probably go back to 'Jim's Combination'. For a buffet, I must say they are approaching the COVID situation in a positive manner. They have single use tongs, spatulas and plates for salad, pizza and pasta. Once finished, you discard in the appropriately labeled containers. They were policing the buffet stations like hawks. If someone didn't read or follow the correct protocol they were stopping the customer in their tracks and educating. They pulled a couple pizzas off the line after someone attempted to use a fork to get themselves a pizza slice. While everything was closed, you can tell they took the time to clean the dining room and organize their kitchen. Thanks for filling my belly. I will sorely miss Jim. He was like a favorite uncle to me and my family. When I was young my father left the family and put us in a financial bind. Jim's had always been our one guilty pleasure. So when Jim heard of our dilemma, he allowed us to eat free at his establishment once a week on Wednesday nights. I have no clue as to how long this went on; I just know that he was always there for us. We have shared many special times and memories with the Jim's Pizza family. The pizza here is one of my favorites in the area. It's thin cracker crust style and absolutely delicious. The buffet is where it's at. So many pizzas to choose from. All pretty nice. It can get quite crowded around lunch time, so that's the major downfall here. You may have to wait and wait to get pizza because there are so many people up there getting food. They have salads and all that jazz too, but the pizza is definitely the reason to come here. I know some people want to comment how thin crust isn't their thing, so they take off stars. I don't think that's really a rating dropping offense, but hey... I'm just happy because it is my favorite crust. Just don't do it. Maybe in person the buffet is good, but I have no intention of trying it. I placed an online order just after 5. I called a little after 6 to inquire and was told it was out for delivery. After an other 30 minutes I called back and the driver was still out. I was contacted by the the delivery driver shortly before 8 and was told that my order had been set out as pick up, so she didn't take it on her last delivery, but would be on her way out with it and that she as instructed to tell me that there would be no charge. It was delivered just after 8. I get being short handed, but it sat for at least an hour before it was taken out for delivery. It was cold when we got and not even that good. Definitely don't get the cheese bread. 1 week later and still no refund for my order. I'm told that I need to contact the 3rd party that handles the online ordering, boostly. It's hard to find any way to contact them, so I'm not holding my breath on that. So disappointed from beginning to end. Just left feeling frustrated. read more

We weren't impressed, unfortunately. With so many great reviews we were excited to try it out, but we left disappointed. The inside wasn't very clean. There was food residue and splatters on the wall of our booth. We arrived shortly before the buffet rush and ordered a large pizza, hot wings, and pasta. We sat for over 45 minutes watching fresh pizza and wings being pumped out for the buffet, and patrons that arrived 30 minutes after us eating, but we still hadn't received our food. When our food was finally brought to us, it was in to-go containers and we were told that are pasta noodles were still cooking and it's be out shortly. The pizza was fine, but nothing special. The wings are like frozen wings you'd get from the grocery store that are really fatty with soft skin. BUT, at least the food was hot. After finishing our pizza and wings I flagged the waitress down to tell her that we didn't need the pasta, because we had already finished our food and it hadn't been brought out to us yet. If you want to catch Covid, this is the place to go. Not only do customers not wearing masks, which would be OK if they were at the table but nobody does when walking around or in the door, but the staff does not wear any masks while preparing your food, ringing you up, or serving you. They even have a sign out that it's their constitutional right to not wear a mask even though it is in violation of Texas law and McKinney law. My kids keep begging to go back here. The buffet is awesome! Tons of different kinds of pizza and if there isn't one you like, you can place a special order and they'll make it! The lasagna as part of the buffet was unexpectedly good. The dessert pizza deserves a trophy. It is ridiculously delicious! Both a cinnamon one and a chocolate one. Oh my goodness! The chocolate one is to die for! Plus you can add some soft serve vanilla ice cream on there...mmmmm The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and patient. There are a lot of us (6 kids!) and they didn't bat an eye. They also have coloring pages for the kids and are so welcoming. I was also impressed with the prices. Sometimes at buffets I feel like I'm paying way too much for my little ones who don't eat very much, but here they wanted to eat and the price for them was very affordable! They base it on your kids' age, which seems very fair. Basically, I will definitely be returning, although not as often as my kids would like to...but only for my waistline's sake...
