This place is fairly good overall. They offer a variety of options, including dim sum, sushi, and flan, which I really enjoyed. The food tastes fresh, and it's a step above the typical Asian buffets you find around the U.S. They have a wider selection of sushi, and it's actually quite good. The beef also stood out--juicy, savory, and flavorful. The interior of the restaurant is clean and elegantly decorated. One thing I didn't love was the smoky scent from the incense. I usually associate that with temples, so I didn't expect it in a dining setting, and it took away slightly from the experience for me. That said, this is still one of the few Asian buffet restaurants I genuinely like. I'd come back for the sushi, beef, and flan!

Let me start by saying that I write a place based on how well they do what it is they're supposed to do. In other words, I'm not going to knock a buffet just because it's a buffet. With that in mind, as far as buffets go, this place has everything you could want... And if you can't find something you want, well, you're just not looking hard enough. The Mongolian grill is the best I have seen in a Chinese buffet. The sushi selection is top notch. Everything is fresh...maybe with the exception of the crab on Christmas Day. Also, the dumpling options are plentiful and delicious. There is so much to choose from, you could come here every week for a year and have a different (really good and satisfying) meal each time. We've made two visits in a week. That says a lot to me.

This is the fish I got!

Terrible food, service, and environment. There are quite frankly no words to describe the standard this place has for themselves. No respect for customers and are just bluntly unknowledgeable of their own restaurant. I asked if the ribs were pork or not and the chef said "I'm not sure". How are you not sure about the ingredients you use!?! Not to mention that when I was eating the fish it had a green dye to it and had the texture of moist soggy meatloaf. NASTY! I asked to see the manager and he had the audacity to say that the green dye color was "cilantro", NO cilantro will leave such an abundant shade of green. Even when I thought it couldn't get any worse my friend found not ONE, but TWO strands of mid/long hair! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I got no words except for hocus pocus this sh** is atrocious!!

I should have either been charged for the buffet and given the shrimp or not charged for buffet and charged for the shrimp.

Very disappointed. I am a picky eater and the only thing I eat is their shrimp in a cocunut sauce. I called ahead and was told to be there before 3:30 because it is on the lunch menu. We drove from Bonham to McKinney Tx. 45 minute drive. We were there by 3:15. They had it sitting in tray with no heat-steam etc. I only ate 1 scoop of rice, 1 scoop of vegetable steamed noodles, 1 egg drop soup and 1/2 a banana with red sauce. I tried to eat the dry cold cocunut shrimp. I went up and showed them my plate and complained that because the cocunut shrimp was the only food I came for that I should not be charged for my portion of the 20.00 buffet. The girl had them cook me fresh cocunut shrimp and instead of giving it to me as part of the buffet she charged me an extra 12.00 dollars. I had told her them recooking it was not necessary. She said it was , so I assumed she was including the fresh shrimp to give me food to eat to make the buffet worth it for me. So because of the old cocunut sauce shrimp I not only was charged 20.00 and 12.00. Then I had to go to the ER with scrombroid poisoning. It prevents as an allergic reaction with lots of itching , hives, throat closing. Apparently their shrimp had been left out too long unattended. Never going to the Asian Buffet in McKinney ever again. Besides the 32.00 I was charged for the buffet with unattended old shrimp and the recooked shrimp I didn't want. I was rushed to the ER to deal with the fact that shrimp was not at a controlled temperature while sitting there. Go at your own risk. Don't eat anything that doesn't have heat or ice under it.

For a buffet, this spot is pretty good. They have a big variety of food options and different stations to satisfy everyone. This includes a build-your-own Mongolian bowl, sushi bar, and dim sum area. The food areas were clean - we came on a Monday at 11:30 ($14.99 per person for lunch M-F). I was happy with the food I got and it certainly was up to par for the pricing. Employees were all professional and kept tables clean/drinks filled. I will be returning in the future for my buffet fix! :)

Buffets are tricky to rate. There are tons of offerings, but to me nothing is five star individually. The restaurant is clean and the workers are very efficient. Kind of quiet but efficient. And the food is just so so in my opinion. I can never seem to find one thing that is my absolute favorite. The eggrolls were pretty good and the chocolate fountain is fun. Mom liked the fried shrimp.

This fortune cookie paper was in my drink and I didn't notice it until after I took a drink from the cup.

Horrible experience! The food wasn't too bad but it definitely was not as flavorful as it was in the past. Everything had some kind of off taste sour taste to it. The plates felt greasy as if they were not scrubbed. The table was greasy. There was a fortune paper in my cup, so that left me without a doubt that they don't properly wash their dishes. As I was leaving, I was provoked by the waiter since I did not leave a tip. Yelling at me saying I didn't sign the receipt after I already payed. The payment went through and he still wanted to provoke me. I will never return here again.

We went for lunch here. Very busy on a weekday lunch, $13 per. Lots of food on several food stations. No seafood being served during lunch, only dinner, $17 per. Servers are friendly and speak English. Well lighted and nicely decorated buffet restaurant.

Every review can be boiled down to basically two factors, how much did you pay and what did you get for what you paid. Within those two factors is a spectrum of quality, service, and taste that should be reviewed according to these two factors. You wouldn't expect a wagyu beef burger at McDonald's, and you shouldn't expect a McDonald's cheeseburger at a steakhouse. What I often see in reviews is people have a standard of taste that they are used to and they penalize whatever establishment they eat at because it wasn't to their static standard. I believe one such place is Asian Buffet. My review is based on an all you can eat buffet for $15.99. My question is where can you get a multitude of AYCE good Chinese dishes, good buffalo wings, decent salad and dessert options, good sushi, a great Mongolian BBQ, and excellent service for this price? If I was paying $30 or $40, I might take a star off, but you can barely eat at McDonald's or Taco Bell for under $15. And I've had my drink run out at fine dining restaurants and other more expensive places, at Asian Buffet my drink never reached the bottom before they they brought me another glass, excellent service. What else can I say, for $20 with tax and drink you cannot go wrong at Asian Buffet!

The food was decent quality not the best but delicious. I definitely ate my moneys worth! Staff was friendly but you can tell they kind of want you to go after you've eaten so much . Staff was very good at cleaning the table of your dirty plates, and quick service for getting the check and to be seated. Lots of options in eating. The atmosphere was mostly clean but I think the table was a little small if you're trying to eat a lot of food . I'd say overall if you're hungry for very nice food this isn't a good choice but if you're hungry for a lot of food this isn't perfect. The food was ok didn't excite me or anything but did leave me satisfied to where I don't need to go to a buffet again for a while.

Bathrooms are cute, clean, and well stocked. What I didn't care for... I received my Mongolian beef early. My husband didn't get his orange chicken for 20ish minutes. I had a few bites but waited, we typically eat together. After 15 minutes, the eggrolls came out hot and fresh, now my food is getting cooler and the hubby still hasn't received his meal. All of this to say, consider making the easier dish later so they can be done together or hold meals until they can be served together. There was a long wait between food delivery, drink refills, and check, but in our servers defense: he was the only one serving, and it got busy for lunch. I may try it again when in the area

He offered suggestions and told us if there was anything we did not like to let him know. We had a lot of different things. The Red Devil Beef was super flavorful and like nothing I had before. It was a spicy but doable and full of yum. We also had the beef flat noodle, black bean chicken garlic, rangoons and green beans. When I say everything was cooked perfectly I mean everything. When I started writing the review I had it as 4 stars. I am often hesitant on giving a 5 on my first visit. Due to Ty taking personal accountability and catering to make everything just right I felt the 5 was well deserved. My only feedback is I felt the prices were just a little higher than expected. It was not ridiculous and maybe it is inflation. Regardless their food is good.

First, many of the dishes lacked the authenticity. The hot and sour soup wasn't sour at all and was overwhelmed by the flavor of sesame oil. The black bean noodles tasted like instant noodles you could make at home, and we ended up adding black vinegar ourselves just to bring some acidity and balance to the dish. The sweet chili shrimp also didn't taste fresh. At the end of our meal, we literally said "this tasted like Chinese buffet food." The service and dining environment made the experience even worse. Throughout our meal, we constantly heard dishes being slammed around from servers cleaning tables. At one point, something was dropped so hard that dishes shattered across the floor. A trash cart was parked right next to our booth while we were eating, and the staff even started mopping the floor directly in front of us during the lunch rush. I understand that restaurants often hire seasonal staff during the summer, but proper training is still important. The way the dishes were handled throughout our meal was loud, chaotic, and disruptive, making it difficult to enjoy our dining experience. It's unfortunate because our first experience of this restaurant was great, but this visit fell well short of our expectations.

The biggest issue for us was the ordering system. Everyone has to scan a QR code, place their own order, and enter their phone number. For a large group, this became very confusing because when the food came out, there was no clear way to tell who ordered what. We spent a lot of time trying to figure out which dishes belonged to each person. If you're coming with a big party, I definitely recommend making a list of everyone's orders ahead of time so it's easier to organize when the food arrives. The food itself was extremely spicy. Most of the BBQ items -- seafood, chicken, beef, and pork -- seemed to have the same heavy cumin and spicy seasoning, so the flavors started tasting very similar. Personally, that wasn't for us. However, the soy sauce fried rice and the cold noodles were really good and stood out the most from the meal. The service was good overall, although communication was a little difficult at times because it was hard to understand the staff's accents. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept. I think this place may work much better for smaller groups, but for our large party it was stressful and the food flavors were too repetitive for our taste. Unfortunately, it's probably not somewhere we would return to. Also they added 25% tip mandatory without mentioning it anywhere ; It was an experience though
