Found my new late-night food spot in Buena Park, Jin Cook is the kind of place you come to hungry because everything comes in HUGE portions The food was so flavorful, comforting, and seriously satisfying, with generous portions that make it perfect for sharing with friends or saving some for later. Every dish felt like the kind of meal you want after a long day And if you're a student or someone who gets late-night cravings, this is definitely one to remember~ they're open until midnight on Fridays & Saturdays, making it such a convenient spot to grab a meal after studying, hanging out, or a late-night food run Even better, Jin Cook was recently named the #1 Ranked Restaurant at the 2026 Taste of Buena Park Food Awards and honestly, I can see why! Good food, huge portions, and late-night hours... what more could you ask for?
Wow loved this place and I can see why it's Buena Park's #1 ranked restaurant. The food was delicious, served in big portions, and came out sizzling hot. I already knew the food would be good, but dining here really made me feel like I was at home. Service was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Shin went over the background of the restaurant and over everything about the menu with us. He helped us choose fan favorites and new dishes to try. If you haven't been here, you must! And come early cause there will be a wait.
This is one of my son's favorite restaurants, and it's easy to see why. One of the best things about this place is that the food is served in a heated hot pot, so everything stays warm until the very last bite. We ordered the Garlic Suyuk, budae jjigae, and two cheese pork cutlets. Everything was delicious, and the portions were very generous. The Garlic Suyuk was especially flavorful, and I loved dipping the pork into the gochujang sauce and garlic. The budae jjigae was also excellent. I believe it was a newer menu item, and it balanced the richness of the meat dishes very well. As always, the cheese pork cutlet came in a huge portion--so much that we couldn't even finish it all. The staff members were very friendly and attentive. Whenever we needed something or had a special request, they responded quickly and took care of it right away. My son isn't very comfortable using chopsticks, so he asked for a fork. The only minor disappointment was that the fork provided was plastic. The side dishes were neatly prepared and complemented the meal nicely. The restaurant was quite busy, but since we visited during lunchtime, there was very little waiting time. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, making us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. The restaurant had a cozy and friendly atmosphere that made the dining experience even more enjoyable. It felt inviting and relaxed, which was perfect for sharing a meal with family. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back again.
My son arranged lunch here with his future in-laws, and it turned out to be a great choice. The K-pop was pumpin', the place was packed, and we arrived right when they opened at 11:30, but were seated quickly. Michelle, our server, was friendly, fast, and efficient despite how busy the restaurant was. The food was excellent. We shared dumplings, spicy pork hot pot, a beef hot stone - no cheese, a fish pancake, and washed it all down with soju and Korean beer. Everything was flavorful, came out quickly, and was perfect for sharing. It's easy to see why this place is so popular. I'd definitely come back. 5 stars!
Stopped by here for late lunch and waited about 15 minutes for a table. Not a huge restaurant but plenty of space for small and large parties. The vibe feels like a pocha spot with dim lights and good Korean comfort food. Servers here an incredibly friendly and kept checking up on me every few minutes to make sure everything is good. Food Kimchi jjigae was ultra rich and had the perfect amount of acidity. Plenty of pork slices inside and the broth is extremely flavorful. Seafood pancake came out crispy on both sides with a soft interior, all the seafood and ingredients were perfectly cooked. Their food here is definitely made fresh as both dishes I burned the heck out of my mouth because it was piping hot. Would definitely recommend!
Whenever I go to SoCal for Disneyland, Jin Cook has become a must stop on our first day because it is that good. As someone who eats a lot of Korean food, I haven't found a place in the Bay Area that I like as much as Jin Cook. The variety here is unbeatable and the portions are extremely generous. I have loved every dish I've had at Jin Cook. This time around, we got regular korean fried chicken, korean army stew, brisket ttetboki and the seafood pancake. All of these were amazing, I wouldn't be able to tell you which one was my favorite because it's too hard to choose. I cannot recommend Jin Cook enough, and will be back the next time I'm in the area
jin cook has an astounding 7-8 locations in california, with just only the cypress and yorba location, you get the to taste the homemade from the mom who created these recipes! keep in mind that once they open at 11:30am, the restaurant is stormed with a long line! service and line goes by super quick, all dishes were fairly priced and they are super breathtaking! definitely consider this place! everyone is super kind the minute you step through the door to the end when you pay, one of my favorite korean cuisines!
I cannot stop thinking about every bite I had there to be honest! There is at times a line, so appreciate the time to starve as it is 100% worth the wait. The staff is incredibly nice and welcoming. They even apologized for the wait, when it was not their fault. It is just that good that people wait in line for it. There is no check in so you have to write your name and wait. It is a pretty intimate area so it has limited capacity. But you feel how lively this place is with satisfied tummies. We had Anna and Michelle as our servers, who is the best Korean moms you want at your table. They made sure our ban chan was always filled. Highly recommend their Braised Beef Short Rib (Galbi Jim). They charge ~$65 which is very reasonable for the volume and flavor. Rib beef was so tender and savory sweet, alongside some rice cakes, cheese, carrots to take you to flavor town. Their Garlic SuYuk (pork belly) was falling apart as I was trying to bring it to my mouth. The broth it is boiled in is so savory, I used it to pour over my rice. The Katsu Curry was another great dish to have. Japanese style curry which is more on the sweet savory, with super crispy katsu on top. We had 4 people but was so full at the end, we had left overs.
Still love the food here! The service continues to be great, and the food is just as delicious as ever. If you want to avoid a long wait, I highly recommend coming before 5 p.m. We arrived before then and had no trouble getting seated, but the waitlist started growing not long after. This time we ordered the bulgogi hot stone, pork curry katsu, spicy galbi jjim, and a seafood pancake. Everything came out piping hot, which is always appreciated. The dishes were served as they were ready rather than all at once, but we actually preferred it that way. Some items definitely take longer to prepare, so it gave us the chance to enjoy each dish while it was fresh and hot instead of having everythingwait to be finished and then being served. The bulgogi hot stone was flavorful and loaded with tender beef and vegetables. If was a good choice, but not the star of today's meal. The spicy galbi jjim continues to be one of our favorites. It has the same great balance of sweetness and spice that keeps us coming back. The beef was tender, the rice cakes were perfectly chewy, and the vegetables soaked up all of the delicious sauce. Love the pumpkin and potato, but they almost always disintegrate in the sauce, so I'm always happy to find any pieces. We also got the pork curry katsu this time, and it did not disappoint. The pork was juicy, the breading stayed crispy, and the rich curry sauce paired really well with the crunchy cutlet. The seafood pancake was another solid choice. It came out crispy around the edges while staying soft inside, with plenty of seafood throughout. It's still one of my favorite appetizers to share. Overall, another excellent meal. The food has remained consistently delicious, the service was attentive, and everything arrived fresh and hot. I'll definitely keep coming back!

I tried Jin Cook after spending a long day at Knotts, and it was what I needed to recharge! The kalguksu came with a good amount of noodles and seafood with a good chewy texture. I was a little disappointed in the soup, I thought it was lacking in depth of flavor, and I also wish it was a little smoother. I also tried the spicy tofu soup, which I thought was better and had a great broth! The wait wasnt too long on a sunday at 6pm, we were able to be seated after around 20 minutes. Service was attentive and we were able to quickly get refills on our banchan! Overall it's a solid Korean restaurant, but I think there are better spots in Buena Park's ktown.
Great place to try Korean food. The Beef short rib soup is a must try. The service was incredible and very friendly. We also had the Chicken Vegetable Bibim Noodle it was delicious and refreshing to eat. It did have a wasabi after taste so if you like wasabi you will enjoy it. For sure I will come here again to try other dishes!
it was my first time checking out the viral jincook - and i was beyond impressed to say the least. the interior was spacious, decorated beautifully with traditional accents, and tables for big groups. the service was tops. they were super accommodating, sweet, and made me feel at home. everyone around me seemed like they've been here multiple times. that's a testament to their service!! my favorite dish was definitely the garlic suyuk and galbijjim! i would come back just for those two dishes. the garlic suyuk was unlike anything i've had before -- super flavorful, tender, and the perfect dish to share for the table. the galbijjim with cheese was a show -- they torched it with charcoal giving it that perfect cheese melt and flavor. overall, i would come back and highly recommend! read more

Had dinner at Jin Cook in Buena Park and really enjoyed it! We ordered the Spicy Pork Hot Stone and the Braised Beef Short Rib for Two, the short rib came with vegetables and rice cakes in a rich soy-based sauce that was full of flavor, and the spicy pork had just the right kick. The staff is super nice, our waitress treated us so kindly, it honestly felt like being at a family gathering where your aunts make sure you're well-fed and taken care of. The restaurant is very well themed, styled like a Korean street food stall, which makes the whole experience feel fun and authentic. The portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. This place has been on my bookmark for awhile but I'm glad I finally tried it. We got the spicy galbijjim with cheese and spicy beef soup. I love how I could actually taste the spicy flavor and it's not too overly sweet lol. The spicy beef soup hit the spot too since it was a cold night. Our server Matt took great care of us! Packed on a Thursday night! The food was pretty good. I think the hot stone didnt have enough meat, it was mostly rice; i'd probably rather get the braised beef short rib. Kimchi jigae was well balanced and hearty. The seafood pancake was ok, I prefer it thinner and crispier. The gangjung chicken was a good; not overpoweringly sweet with a little bit of heat. My favorite was the japchae; it has a heavy garlic flavor, so if you like garlic like me then you must try. read more

Honestly, I usually do not leave reviews no matter how bad the food is, but this was so terrible that I had to. I ordered the spicy pork stone bowl for delivery. It was over $28, so I had really high expectations. It might be one of the most expensive items around OC. But when the food arrived, I was extremely disappointed. First, the meat quality was very poor, and the way it was sliced was a mess, so it was very tough. It was badly overcooked, and the edges were even burned to the point that I could not eat them. I waited and paid $28 for this, but it tasted hundreds of times worse than the pork stir fry you can buy at the market for $7 per pound. I was thinking about visiting the store in person, but now I will not. I truly hope no one orders this dish. And to the store manager, if you are going to deliver this menu item at this quality, take it off the menu. It was the worst. Who could possibly eat food that is burnt and hardened like this? My husband and I tried this place out for dinner over the weekend. We ended up ordering the braised beef short rib and added cheese. They torch this dish right infront of your eyes, kind of like a mini show before dinner. In addition, they give you some bonchon sides while you wait and along with the order we got 2 sides of rice. Food was good and service was great! Got there at 7 on a Saturday and there was about an hour wait time. Signed in and went shopping in the area. They called me when my table was ready so we went back and when we walked in we were seated right away. I got kimchi jigae and a beef hot stone. Both dishes were good and the beef hot stone paired really well with the side dishes. The workers came to check on us a few times and offered to refill our side dishes so that was a plus. I get full quickly and always have left overs so the beef stone was big enough for myself and my sister. The vibes are cozy and they have a men's restroom and a women's restroom with a few stalls inside. It's located in a plaza with a grocery store so there is a lot of parking. read more

Looks like they have quite a bit of spicey dishes? What if you cant handle spicey? Could they make it non spicey like keeping out the jalapeño
We had orderred few dishes that were non spicy. tofu soup, seafood pancake and bibimbap(ask for nonspicy). Also i believe there were 2 versions of shortrib JJim(spicy and non spicy).
