Wow, this is definitely worth the tasty certificate they've been awarded! I came here with my parents on a whim, and the amount of high reviews for this restaurant was promising. We were seated pretty quickly, and ordered a tonkatsu combo with a side of curry sauce and beef brisket tteokbokki. The service is great, our server was very attentive, checking in on us and taking the time to answer/explain menu items. Overall, we waited around 25 minutes for both dishes to arrive. Though the dishes were pricy, the large portion size and flavor was very good! The rice cakes are the perfect texture, and not too mild or spicy. There was also plenty of beef brisket in the dish, it's not surprising this is one of the top dishes here. The tonkatsu combo is also worth the price, large portions of meat, and a good ratio of rice and salad. The side dishes were pretty standard; it was interesting to see that all of the dishes were variants of pickled vegetables. I'd definitely come back to try more of their recommended picks! read more

Wait times can get long. Located in the same plaza as Albertsons. It's nestled away in the corner. There can be a line/wait. The restaurant is a bit small however once inside the ambiance feels cozy and intimate. We ordered the garlic suyuk and it was melt in your mouth delicious. Jin Cook is always very busy and the only way to get on the waitlist is to show up in person and talk to the host. I fortunately the wait can be long and there isn't any good places in that plaza to wait or pass the time. We have come for early dinners and that has worked out well, immediately seated and food was out promptly. By the time we leave there is always a line outside. Dishes are expensive but large, and generally flavorful. There are a few large tables in the middle that could accommodate groups of 10-12, but the perimeter is smaller tables for four. Our favorite dish is the Spicy Braised Beef Short Rib Hot Stone, which is basically short rib with vegetables in a gochujang sauce. Their gochujang is lightly spicy and it the heat from the hot stone thickens the sauce so it is sticky and coats each ingredient. The rib meat is tender and bones are easy to remove. Overall very flavorful and great dish, large portion so it could probably feed 2 people with just itself. I personally want more rice cake. Also I don't think the up charge for kimchi is worth it since one can take the Banchan kimchi and put that in while it's still hot. The Garlic SuYuk was solid, truly numerous pieces of the pork belly. For garnishes there is a garlic paste, spicy sauce, and lots of green onion. The seasoning in the pork is appropriate, and I would get this dish again, although I slightly prefer the version that Pocha Eats offers. Katsu combo has large portion and can mix and match proteins. We got pork and fish, both fried just right and crispy, pork size slightly larger (underneath in the picture). Katsu sauce has strong umami. Comes with shredded cabbage with thousand island dressing and scoops of rice. The dressing is thick so I found it tough to mix and spread evenly across all the cabbage. The Spicy Pork Hot Stone was good but pales in comparison to the other dishes. I advise that you stir immediately to avoid excess browning or charring from the hot stone. This menu item does have a pepper indicating spice and I agree since this was the most spicy of any items (more so than the Spicy Braised Beef Short Rib Hot Stone). The heat is more regular gochujang, a tad above what I find still enjoyable. The sauce does coat all the pork, and has enough to mix in to the rice as well. For drinks we have only asked for the hot barley. Jin Cook will bring an entire carafe to the table and that covered more than eight cups. read more

The restaurant was fairly busy on a Sunday morning, but we came about 5 minutes before opening and were seated right away. However, it filled up very quickly after opening. So I would suggest coming a little early. All the food that we ordered was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. The food was overall pretty good, but they took down my hot stone order wrong and lowkey gaslighted me into thinking that i ordered the bulgogi one and changed my mind. I remember saying beef hot stone and pointing at it on the menu, so when the bulgogi hot stone came out i was quite confused. up to that point it was fine, but then a worker came up to us to say that customers always confuse the hot stone dishes and started explaining the difference between the two..? maybe it was with good intentions...but i already felt bad that we had to send the order back. making it seem like this happened bc i ordered the wrong thing was upsetting. the food was still good, i just had a bad experience bc of an unlucky situation. read more

One of the best Korean restaurants in SoCal, and it is family/locally run! Absolutely worth the hour long wait even on a Monday evening. Pros Food: we tried the Bossam and Curry Katsu. If you like pork, the Bossam is a must; it comes with fixings to make wraps. Regarding the latter, there is more rice than meat, but that is why we ordered with curry, which was so flavorful on its own. Their banchan is also one of the best! Service: despite being a packed restaurant, the servers were able to being us refills and even showed us how to make the Bossam wraps :) Plenty of parking is a plus. Last month 5 of us came by for dinner around 7, and there was a 45 minute wait. It was cold so by the time we came in we were ready to order soups on soups. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was decently busy. Took around 30 min to get seated. We ordered the Jincook beef hot stone, spicy pork hot stone, and brisket ddukbokki. We initially tried to ordered the galbi tang but it was already sold out by then. Would recommend trying to go earlier when thy opened to get it. Came to try Jin Cook after all the reviews and recommendations after talking to friends about another Korean restaurant in Buena Park. It was about 3pm and there was a bit of a wait even though they were filled to capacity inside. Once you sign in, you have the option to leave your number so they can text you. This is nice so you're not stuck standing outside the restaurant (no seating). You once we got called in, the atmosphere was great and service seemed friendly but it did have a strong odor of cleaner (fabuloso?). We ended up ordering the beef hot stone and garlic pork belly for the two of us. Hot stone beef came out first and tasted great. Fresh veggies, nice amount of thinly sliced brisket and rice that gets charred on the hot stone. Sadly after about 40mins of receiving our first dish we had to inquire about the pork dish. We noticed other tables who had come after us receive their order already. The nice gentleman told us it would be done in a couple minutes. After about ten more minutes the dish finally came out. At that point we weren't able to enjoy the dish along with the rice as intended. Some of the pork slices weren't even hot interestingly enough - the slices of meat temperatures were uneven.
