Jinya was a yelp find while I visited Georgia. It's in a brand new shopping center across from Top Golf. The GPS didn't take us properly here, so look nearby for the black sign with jinya in white letters. Inside is interesting, a mix of ramen and industrial design. The seats are pretty comfy, even the ramen bar ones. They also have a full bar with tasty drinks! For appetizers we got the takoyaki and the karaage (crispy chicken). The chicken tasted like gizzards with the way the breading was and the meat was a bit sinnewy peice of dark meat. It was good! So crunchy. The takoyaki gets cold fast, I assume from all the kewpie mayo. I would of liked a little less mayo and be able to taste the takoyaki better, but it was still good! My sister got a red ramen recommended by the waiter, she really liked it. I got a yuzu (citrus fruit) shio ramen. I really liked mine, especially the seasoned ramen egg that was all soft in the middle. But the pork shown on the website was way more cooked and firm than the pork served with our ramen. I couldn't eat my pork, but some people may like the fatty, super soft pork like that. Staff was really nice and inside was clean. No menus were given to us, had to scan a QR code on the table. I would definitely visit again and order a bit wiser to have a 5-star experience. read more

Love the restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere, but most importantly great people working there. Dinesha our server was amazing. Smiled and helped us a lot. The food was absolutely wonderful. I wish I could give 5 but comfortable with a 4 and that is only because the price. I ordered a bowl (flying vegan harvest, soooo good) with a side of bok choy. The portion of the side they gave was an absolute insult for the up charge. I sent it back and I never do that. I just couldn't justify $2 for 2 pieces of baby bok choy. The exterior had a great fire going on the outdoor patio while the interior was rockin' with DJ'd music pumping just a tad too loud for these old ears. But not wanting to ruin the young vibe by being the old curmudgeons in the room, I and my good Jacksonville yelp friend Bobby B just went with it! [ THE SCENE ] It's located in a newly built live, eat, play area near the Mall of Georgia known as The Exchange @ Gwinnett. Still under construction, it will include 100 acres of food, fun, shopping, entertainment and living/work spaces. It is estimated to have 465,000 square feet of planned retail & restaurants, professional office space, hotel suites and luxury residential flats. Not to mention a large lawn area for summer concerts and festivals. Jinya has been set to open since earlier in the year, but Covid has wreaked havoc not only on the build schedules everywhere, but also staffing. Still, a lucky call to check their status confirmed it was FINALLY opening day! Inside looks amazing. Jinya seems to prefer smaller, more intimate interiors. That being said, the wall of windows still gave the space ample natural lighting. Here is my collective food experience between two separate visits: --- [ THE FOOD ] *** CHA CHA CHA RAMEN (5+ stars) | $14.95 MENU DESCRIPTION: pork and fish broth, pork chashu, seasoned egg, bean sprouts, chopped onion, green onion, chili powder served with thick noodles. VERDICT - A garlic lover's ramen dream and one of the best Tonkatsu Ramens I've had the pleasure of putting in muh belly! Not a lot of flavor. *** 1Opc CRISPY CHICKEN (3.5 stars) | $12.95 MENU DESCRIPTION: juicy fried chicken thigh with an original garlic pepper served with mixed baby greens and JINYA's original ponzu sauce VERDICT - I'm generally not a fan of thigh meat, but these are acceptable. Still, more seasoning would be beneficial. *** TAKOYAKI (3 stars) | $7.95 MENU DESCRIPTION: battered octopus over egg tartar topped with kewpie mayonnaise, okonomiyaki sauce, fresh cut green onion and smoked bonito flakes VERDICT - Decent, but a little too much breading and overkill on the sauces. *** BRUSSELS SPROUT TEMPURA (2.5 stars) | $7.95 MENU DESCRIPTION: crispy tempura brussels sprouts with white truffle oil VERDICT - My family was not a fan. I thought they were okay, especially when dipped in the leftover sauce from the Takoyaki. But without the sauce, they were just fried brussels sprouts with no seasonings to make them special or unique. *** IMPOSSIBLE BUN (2.5 stars) | $5.95 MENU DESCRIPTION: plant-base bun: Impossible meat made from plants, guacamole, cucumber with vegan mayonnaise. VERDICT - Not very good. *** SWEET TEA (4 stars) | $2.95 --- [ AMBIENCE / SERVICE ] Probably my favorite part of dining here aside from the attractive wood toned interior is when they yell out "IRASSHAIMASE" when new guests walk through the door. Staff is friendly and service is prompt. Our server Devon was very very attentive and checked on us often. The kitchen was short staffed on the day we came for a 2nd visit, but the food still came out at a pretty reasonable speed. Wait times to be seated were bit long though. --- [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] My 1st visit opening day was GREAT, but I found myself being a human garbage disposal on the 2nd since so much of what we ordered was going to go in the bin. The family were not fans of any of the sides, but I was not about to let it all go to waste. I'm pretty convinced after my last visit my family will reject any future visits. I don't feel the same and will stick to the ramens and forego ordering any of the sides since none of them stood out as something we would order again. Jinya is a classic ramen joint. My husband and I love Jinya and all of its locations. We decided to order some food to go. The food is very consistent compared to the other locations. We ordered some of my favorites, Wonton Chicken Ramen and JINYA Tonkotsu Black ramen. My concerns have to do with the service. The boiled egg was missing from the JINYA Tonkotsu Black ramen and the broths were labeled incorrectly. Growing Pains (12/20/21) Let me start by saying I love the Jinya brand and food. I think it's absolutely delicious and my wife and I frequent the Alpharetta and Sandy Springs Location. This new location in Buford is much closer to our house and we had the same expectations of the other locations. No reservations or call a heads. You arrive in person and then get put on the wait list. The building feels a bit more cramped than the other locations. Mostly high top seating with a few standard tables scattered around. The outside patio is not quite finished but probably will be nice when it is. We were seated at the bar which was fine. The Bartender didn't seem to know too much about the menu. Anyway we placed orders for apps, a few buns and Gyoza, and a couple ramen bowls. Our ramen bowls came out first. We actually finished our food and still no apps. Asked the bartender who went to check for us and told us it was delayed. Later the manager checked on us and we told him the situation and he apologized as well. We canceled the order at this point since it has been so long. Then the owner came and checked on us and apologized. He was the first to tell us that they weren't even serving the buns that night. The bartender and the manager did not know or inform us of this. The owner somehow expedited some gyoza for us to take home which we were appreciative of. I really want this place to do well but the communication between the kitchen and staff is not there. The vibe at dinner was unfortunately more frantic than you want to see a restaurant. I understand this a new location but it will be compared to its other locations. I truly hope that the organization, communication, and workflow improves. Soooooo I had a ramen craving and the spot that we usually go to had an hour wait so we decided to go here . The vibe was cool , the bartender was really nice and the drinks were pretty good as well. The ramen was okay, I didn't really like the fried chicken in the ramen probably should have got it on the side as it got soggy to eat , the broth was tasty though . The noodles in mine were really thin and in my husbands they were really thick. The Seating was bit close as well so maybe we should have went when it wasn't as busy. I stumbled upon Jinya by chance while searching through Yelp for somewhere to get soup and I'm so glad I gave it a shot!! I stopped in for lunch right after they opened for the day and they weren't too busy so I was able to place a to-go order quickly. I could see how it would be crazy busy for dinner though since it's right next to top golf and Andretti's. The staff was wonderful and very welcoming. I ordered the spicy creamy vegan ramen which was delicious! It wasn't spicy but it was very flavorful. The portions are pretty big so it is absolutely worth the price for the ramen. I will definitely have to return when I'm able to sit down and eat at the restaurant because it was pretty nice inside. read more

I have been to all 3 locations (Sandy Springs, Buckhead, Alpharetta) throughout the years. Jinya will always be my go to spot for delectable ramen and the best takoyaki ever. I was very ecstatic to see this one open in my area. I haven't physically visited yet, but I did order delivery via DoorDash today. The order was very well packaged. The noodles and toppings in one bowl, the broth in another, the seaweed wrapped individually, as well as a soup spoon and chopsticks of course! The only thing I noticed is that the portion seems way smaller when it's a to-go order. And that's with every location, not only this one. But it beats driving in the rain and making the trip, so it's worth it still. I ordered the "Jinya Tonkotsu Black": pork broth, pork chashu, kikurage, green onion, nori dried seaweed, seasoned egg, garlic chips, garlic oil, fried onion and spicy sauce served with thin noodles. The broth was just as good as I remembered: rich and flavorful. The egg was perfectly cooked: soft and jammy. Noods were nice and chewy. Lots of kikurage for a contrasting crunchy texture. I ordered fresh garlic on the side that adds more umami. My only gripe was that I got a small portion of pork chashu and it wasn't a solid meaty piece, mostly fat that fell apart. We sat at the tiny bar right up against the window next to the bar. Pretty tight spot and had to move to the bar after a couple minutes. The manager and staff was nice and Greeted guest very loudly. I think I could prob live on those buns for the rest of my life and be happy. But with that said, I do think this place is slightly overpriced. i come here a lot since it's so close to where i work and the food is amazing. the servers are all so nice and i always feel better leaving from there. jinya bun: the dough is so soft and chewy and the meat is so tender. the vegetables are crunchy and it adds a good texture contrast. spicy creamy shrimp tempura: i usually avoid seafood in georgia since it's not fresh but this one is really good. it's so tender and the sauce is so creamy and good. karaage chicken ramen: the chicken is super tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. it's a simple ramen, probably a good option for picky eaters. tonkotsu black ramen: the meat is very tender. i usually hate pork but i actually look forward to the pork chashu whenever i come here. the kikurage has an interesting flavor that goes well with the ramen (first time i've tried them). the garlic and pork chashu work well together. panna cotta: this was so good. the vanilla ice cream and the caramel and the panna cotta combined were sweet but all in different ways, the flavors worked well together. yuzu shio delight: the yuzu adds a nice tanginess that pairs well with the spring onion. simple but really good ramen. takoyaki: it was my first time trying takoyaki and i like it. the ball of dough(?) was soft and i liked the toppings on it. i think there was a bit too much mayo and the octopus tasted kind of rubbery but it's still good, i'd get it again. read more

I love Jinya! One of the best Ramen places in Buford! I love the impossible Gyoza buns and dumplings. And if you are going to get the Ramen the Tonkutsu black is the go to! You can also substitute the meat with whatever you want. I literally go here 2 times a week sometimes more because it's so good! Their children's menu is great as well. My daughter loves the chicken!
