If you love ramen this is THE place! Jinya is not just legit ramen it's also a cool place whether you're dining inside or out. I had to order the Tonkatsu Ramen and the broth was unctuous and satisfying while the egg adds that bit of creaminess. The surprise and delight was the chicken wings. Words can't do these justice! I don't know how they get that delicate crisp; they are perfection. Brussels sprouts were great when I dipped them in the ponzu sauce. Ok so my first time there and I highly suggest splitting a bowl with all the add ons! I wasn't a fan of the noodles and soup myself but I think I would like to get the bigger noodles. I saw someone else have them but all in all it wasn't too bad when you add in the onions, broccoli and mushrooms... we were really a fan of all the sides. Nab a pot sticker or three and that bun thing... wow.. wish I didn't have to split that. I was blown away with the tempura Brussels sprouts. The coating was to die for! Not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews. Our server, Eric, was an absolute star. He was patient with our two toddlers and smartly helped us get an order in for them before everything else, while making sure we took advantage of happy hour. The kids meal was generous and delicious: fresh mini and simple versions of their dishes. Unsurprisingly, I'd say the Jinya Tonkatsu Black was the best thing we ordered. Really solid ramen. I have a soft spot in my heart for Jinya Ramen. I used to order it to-go frequently back in 2019 when I interned in Tulsa. It is also a chain that happened to be in DC where my sister lived at the time. There was more than one occasion that I would go get it for dinner after talking with her and hearing that's what she was going to eat! So basically, Jinya can bond siblings even if they're 1200 miles apart. Tonight's visit was great. Jinya is really consistent, and they have great options to choose from. I typically get the Tonkotsu Black with extra spice. I also love their buns. There were a few times that I would order three of the buns for dinner instead of Ramen! I think my only major grievance with Jinya is that it is somewhat pricey for what you're getting. My ramen was $14.95. If you want to add veggies or any other extra toppings, you are most likely paying $1.50-$3.50 per item. read more

It comes with 2 pieces of chashu (which is standard), marinated egg (which I love) and bean sprouts. The second was the spicy Tonkatsu! The meat was sooooooo tender for this one that I could eat a whole bowl! Soup was spicy and I got mild but very good. Chicken wonton ramen is just as expected. Wontons had chicken inside and were good but the chashu was better! I also like how you can do kale ramen noodles with any order! I tried them and they were delicious! Alight, I've been waiting for a while to get back here to Jinya to get some of their Tonkotsu Ramen. It's where my Ramen passion started. So after ordering Ramen at every restaurant around to compare their offerings I'm back to Jinya to see how it holds up, and I got to say I was disappointed. I ordered their Tonkotsu black and it was pretty boring. It had 1 whole egg, 2 small pieces of pork chashu that was kinda bland and some scallions and that's really all I remember. The broth was creamy but not a lot of flavor. I added the Jenya sauce on the table that I thought was soy sause because I needed some salty flavor but the Jenya sauce is kinda sour so now the wheels are falling off this dish. I ended up not finishing it. The noodles were good but I probably won't order it again at Jenya. But I would give it maybe a 6/10. I have reviewed the Tonkotsu in a few other restaurants around Tulsa if you care to read those reviews. I don't wanna speak bad of Jenya because I'm sure they have some other dishes that are good because that place is always crowded so I know they are killing it. When it comes to Japanese ramen, I would say JINYA would be my favorite in t-town. Soup base is the soul of a good ramen and a lot of places would pour msg into it to get the sweetness but they aren't that good for you, especially how thirsty you will get afterwards. But not for JINYA. If you have tried authentic Japanese ramen, you will know Jinya's ramen doesn't skim on the way they make them. It has a great balance and ratio of meat, condiments, noodles and soup. Our very favorite is their tonkotsu black. If you like garlic, you would like this black garlic rendition ramen. They also use a thinner noodle so the juicy goodness would coat onto it. The only suggestion that I have is to have a consistency of a soft boiled egg. They tend to overcook a bit. I believe it is because it will continue to cook when place over the hot soup. And if the waiter takes 5 minutes to deliver the bowl over, the egg will already be overcooked. Side dish wise, we really like their fried Brussels sprouts. It's kind of their specialty. But must enjoy while it's hot and fresh. Their outdoor seating is what we shoot for. Having a good meal while enjoying the downtown scenery is a great way to start an evening. It would be awesome if they play chill music and tune down the outdoor speakers a bit, they tend to me a bit loud and we sometimes can't even have a conversation with the person next to. Best ramen we've ever had! We ordered the spicy chicken ramen and the Tonkotsu Black. The broth of the Tonkotsu Black was unbelievable, so much flavor! The pork was cooked so well. My husband loved his spicy chicken ramen as well and asked for a side of the chili paste they spiced it with. We also had pork buns to start with, and the pork and buns were delicious, pork was cooked perfectly, we just didn't love that it was only mayonnaise as a sauce on them, I'm not sure what the bun sauce is, I could only see/taste Mayonnaise, but should've asked for more bun sauce. First time in Tulsa and I can not turn down a ramen shop. I was surprised to find a popular ramen place here in Oklahoma to be honest. This place is a good looking restaurant. It's clean very modern and hip, has a open type of kitchen so you can see the ramen being put together, reminds me a lot of the shops in Japan. I'm sure this place is the best ramen in Tulsa but I'm comparing it to all the ramen I have had...which has been a lot. I first ordered the JINYA Tonkotsu Black ramen. The staff said the broth had black garlic oil in it. I love a good Tonkotsu broth. The bowl came out hot and it was fast. The bowl looked good. When I got into I noticed right away that the broth was thin. I don't know about you but when I eat a Tonkotsu I am wanting that thick creamy broth to coat the noodles in its rich thick broth. This bowl just didn't deliver that. I will say that the broth had good flavor and had the right amount of fat in it to give the broth a little body. I just wanted more mouthfeel in the broth. The noodles were good, they were chewy and had good flavor as well. The toppings were average and the egg....oh that egg....for me it was overdone, could have used more time in the soy marinade and was just a semi jammy hard boiled egg. The Chasu was good and tender. It had a smoky flavor but has no color on the outside and was sort of just one note in flavor. The steam bun, I was excited for. Everyone loves a good steamed bun. This had the chasu on it, it had cucumber lettuce and I believe kewpie mayo on it. It tastes flat. Not a lot of texture, and with the mayo just sort of tastes like a ham sandwich in a way. Again one note. Needed some texture, or a bit of spice or a drizzle of a sweetened soy or acid or something. Would I go back? Maybe to try something else. Let me start by saying the food was very good. We started with the Pork Gyoza, then had the chicken ramen and the spicy tonkotsu. I also added a jalapeño butter corn appetizer to have as a side. The reason for the below average review is due to the service. I live downtown and enjoy walking to the nearby restaurants, and on a cold night Jinya seemed to be the perfect spot. After being seated, we were told by our server that he'd be right with us. We ordered the appetizer and when we received it we ordered our entrees. Our server mentioned he didn't have anything to write on, so he picked up a napkin from the table and used that, no big deal. We quickly ate our appetizer, and moved those plates to the side. After three tables that arrived after us received their entrees, I began to suspect something was wrong. At this point it had (probably) been 20ish minutes since ordering? Our server returned and said he'd lost our order and asked us to repeat it so he could take it again. After (probably) another 15ish minutes the food comes out without the side. I ask the person who ran the food and she goes back and the kitchen makes it quickly. The food was quite good, but we only have chopsticks, so the broth or the corn cannot be effectively eaten. I flag down the server and ask for spoons. He nods and comes back to the section once to address another table, then again with two plate/spoon/chopstick setups for a different table, then I flag him again and he says he'll be back. By this time the corn has cooled, we're essentially down to broth, and both waters are empty. He brings some spoons, then returns with a water pitcher, and we finish the meal. At this point I stack the bowls by the used appetizer plate and side plates that have been on the table for roughly 40 minutes. He clears those and check is presented. Payment is processed and we leave. Would've loved to see at minimum a table touch from a manager. Going forward I'll likely sit at the bar in hopes to avoid a repeat experience. read more
