BEFORE! Ugly concrete deck, leak between the pool/spa, pool border tiles coming loose.

I interviewed 4 companies for what I needed done for my pool and deck. The pool itself seemed fine, however there was a leak running right between the spa and pool wall that needed to be fixed, and determine if there were any other leaks. Pool border tiles were cracking and loosening from their grout. The concrete deck was hideous. I wanted it replaced with pavers. Of the 4 people/companies I spoke with, James was the only contractor who would take on the entire job. (Others were "I'll do the tiles, but I don't do decks...etc.) James was the only contractor that took a great deal of time with me talking about what needed to be done, and what didn't need to be done. I passed on some recommendations from neighbors and settled on JJ&B Pools based on my discussions with James. I felt his estimate was reasonable as well. I was very impressed by the work done by JJ&B Pools. All this work was completed in just over 2.5 weeks. James was always and easily available by phone with any questions I had. And often would say, "I'll be there in 15 minutes." - and he was! He assisted me in picking out the pavers, tiles and the coping color, and it all came together beautifully. Workers were great. They were here just about every single day, and were very professional. Often when working with contractors on a big job, there is always some type of problem, be it little or small. There were NONE! Not once did I feel that something was left out, forgotten, not taken care of. This was truly a quality experience from beginning to end! I would HIGHLY recommend JJ&B Pools for any of the work they specialize in! I am a very happy client and will be happy to recommend JJ&B Pools to everyone!

    1st day on the job

I I have been looking for a company to resurface our pool where is Joshua tree mobile estates for several months I was turned down or told it would be 6 to 8 months before anyone else could get started on it these guys were able to get a jump on our project we hired them last week and they have already begun construction customer service has been pleasant to work with and responds immediately with any questions we have had above all they are within the budget we have set making Them the best choice for us thank you JJ&BPools

I'm related to the customer that hired jj and b. I can no longer ignore the horrible service. The owner comes off as nice but got irritated when asked to redo a ledge that had a huge crack from top to bottom that they caused. Cracked tiles and splashed paint on patio window while working on the new cool deck. Document your property before letting anyone work on it. I was ignoring the review for nearly two years. Great pebble tech work tho.

John Loera and his crew from J L Construction, all did a superior job on our re-do. He stayed on track and on budget, which I greatly appreciated. John was very sensitive of the unplanned disruption the fire caused and he did everything humanly possible to restore my home and my life back to normal. He gave me solutions when other contractors told me to figure out an alternative (e.g. two previous contractors told me to buy a certain type of vanity based on the location of a pipe and John opened the wall and said, "Nope, I can move or reroute the pipe, there isn't any electrical or anything in the way that prevents it"). I have a handful of examples like that, and it made me realize that the others just wanted to do everything the easy way. He also found a potentially catastrophic problem under one of the showers that had previously been missed. On top of that, I really appreciated that he has an eye for little details - paint touch-ups, visual alignment, etc. Highly recommend.

Most recently, they transformed our dated primary bathroom into a breathtaking luxury suite worthy of a magazine photo shoot. The space is nothing short of spectacular. From the stunning Versace tile to the Perrin & Rowe fixtures and the exquisite De Gournay hand-painted wallpaper, every element was thoughtfully curated and flawlessly installed. The result is a space that stops people in their tracks. First of all, they are dependable. Once you reach out to them, they provide an expected timeline, and they stick to it. They are also very quick in their turnaround. One challenge I've found here in the Valley is that you need to call contractors several times before they pickup. This is not the case with Vincere. They are very proactive in reaching out and following-up. Second, their quality of work is excellent. You can really trust that whatever work they are doing for you, it will be a top-notch work. Third, you can trust they are giving you the right quote. I never felt like I was given an insane quote. It always felt like the right price point. Fourth, they really listen to the customer, and make sure they understand their requirements. Once the job is done, they go over it to make sure everything was done properly. Mike deserves a special mention. He really listens to the customer requirements, and goes the extra mile to address them. Whenever there are challenges that arise, he is very articulate in explaining what the problem is, and providing a set of alternatives alongside their tradeoffs. Whenever Mike comes, I can be sure my problem will be fixed in the optimal way. Highly recommend them.

In short: if you are in Palm Springs / the Coachella Valley area and reading this while having just…read moreexperienced a flood, forget any other "big name" flood response crew. You are not going to find a better team than this. Dan's team is exceptionally skilled, organized, respectful and most importantly FAST- and I wish I'd found them sooner! Full review: When our tenants called about a flood at our rental property in Palm Springs, I panicked and did what I thought was the "safe" move: I hired a big-name local flood response company with decent (but not amazing) reviews. Six days later, the house was somehow still damp. Progress felt slow, and even my insurance adjuster strongly suggested that I do my research when choosing the company to do the repairs once the house was actually dry. I knew I didn't want that first company doing the actual repairs. I turned to Yelp looking for someone who could move fast, work cleanly, and understand the insurance process; someone who could get the job done with attention to detail, given how much attention we'd put into our home initially, but somebody who could work super, super fast. I thought I'd message AVA Flood Restoration and just get a second opinion on how the drying was going. I was on my way out to dinner and Dan (the owner) said he could come over later that night. I was already impressed, but wanted to wait and see what he'd say. Dan came over right at 9pm as promised. He told me that for a house of our size it simply didn't have the right amount of dryers, and that the house should have already been dry given it had been six days. He told me he had a team ready to go that night if needed, but that either way, he could assure me he could work with speed and attention to detail, and had experience with other homes where design was a key element. I slept on it, and the next morning, fired the other company and hired Dan. He took over from the other company right away, brought in about double the number of dryers, and was candid that the prior team had cut corners. That transparency was a huge deal because at that point I just wanted the truth and a clear plan. He handled explaining what had happened to my insurance company so insurance could just pay his team directly rather than me having to act as a middleman. From there, the pace and organization were night and day. Beyond drying, Dan's foreman, Kody, led the rebuild and he's genuinely skilled. New flooring, drywall, electrical and plumbing repairs, cabinets, paint... the whole scope. The crew was also incredibly consistent: they were there every day between 7-8am, and if I had questions they took the time to explain what was happening and why. The #1 reason I'd recommend Dan is communication. I'm a millennial, communication is everything to me. Dan is truly next-level. He responds to everything, is always a phone call away day or night, and he texts frequent updates so you're never left wondering what's going on. A lot of contractors say they communicate well. Dan actually does. Three weeks later, our house was back together and our tenants were back in, honestly better than ever. They made a pretty awful experience as good as it could have been - an enormous thank you to all of you: Dan, Kody, Mike, Derek - while we hope we never have a flood again, if we ever do need a contractor for other work, we absolutely know who to call. By contrast, our neighbors up the street had a similar pipe burst a year prior, and it took them six months to get back to normal dealing with other slower contractors who just didn't prioritize them. If you're dealing with flood damage and need someone who will show up, follow through, and move with urgency, Dan and AVA Flood Restoration are the real deal.
