JJ Bakery is located next to a good Boba drink location. Walked in here and it reminds me of another bakery I went to a few weeks back, it has a lot of the similar Pastries and Cakes. The people working here were nice and helpful. We picked up a tray and a pair of tongs to select the pastries we want. The pastries are light and fluffy making them easy to eat, I wish there would have been some seats to eat the pastries insaide or outside, strictly to go,

Their cakes are like a great alternative to King's Hawaiian and other places!

The name reminds me of/as if J.J. Evans from the TV show "Good Times" owned a bakery instead of becoming an Artist! Haha! This place has been here for a while now and it's located in a nice, ample parking filled strip mall that is FREE to park at all the time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]To me, this is like a way better, cleaner and more organized version of Valerio's, but of course; in their own way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's like a mini 86 Degrees, but in its own way as well. JJ has its own snacks and pastries, so it makes for a great alternative to the other Asian bakeries around whenever you want a variety of different choices. Their sponge cakes and cheese anything stuff are always a hit. Also, their cakes are like a great alternative to King's Hawaiian and other places too! Customer service is always a plus, because they're very very helpful and chill.

I ordered a strawberry crème brûlée cake over the phone after seeing pictures online. The person who took my order was very courteous and answered any questions that I had. The cake itself was beautifully presented with fresh strawberries and a few blueberries. Inside was a white cake with a layer of pudding. I couldn't tell what the frosting was made of, but it wasn't too sweet. The price for the cake was reasonable at $38.75. It served 10 and we enjoyed it. We ordered a couple other pastries which were ok. There was also an assortment of cake slices which could be purchased, as well as various cookies. The bakery is located in a strip mall in Crenshaw near Sepulveda Blvd. Parking was plentiful.

Entering JJ Bakery is like entering a room full of pillows after a strenuous day. Every pastry has magnificent flavor and variety, which keeps you indecisive until you finally need to make a choice. The service and staff are super friendly and will have you thinking why you've been going to millennial coffee shops in the first place.

I always come here for celebration cakes! I love taiwanese food! The food is fresh and the pastries are delicious in my opinion. The selections of breads and cakes aren't overly sweet nor bland. The whole cakes can be ordered via phone or in person but has to be made 24 hrs in advance. So let's not rush them, give it 48hr with pickup date and time if possible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store is always clean and the staff is always welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will continue to come grab my much needed cake selections.

We come here occasionally for the cake rolls ("watermelon" slice is novel to us) and pastries and happened to be in the area on my mom's birthday. Figured YOLO let's get a cake and drive 15 miles back. Got the most decadent looking one because we shouldn't pass up the opportunity. I need to say wow what an experience. It's like a typical Asian cake with traditional filling (taro and red bean) but not enough to make it weird. I'm not a fan of beans in general (red bean is just ok) and this was very nice. Just enough to add a little texture to the taro flavor. Also all kinds of different fruits on top. Feels luxurious! My parents & bro tend to be on the "ew cake, frosting has too much sugar" side but they all got seconds and finished it. Brother NEVER gets a second slice and he was like, yeah give me another, this is pretty dang good. Would buy again.

JJB has a good selection of cakes, bread and pastries. I have tried their bread in the past. Good quality. Today"s visit was for my mom. She wanted Tiramisu ($20.40). I asked my mom why she likes the cakes at JJB. She said their cakes are moist and not overly sweet. Service was friendly and prompt. There is a lot of parking available. However, there's been time when parking has been challenging.

    8 inch Vanilla Taro Cake

Yesterday, I stopped by JJ Bakery to pick up a birthday cake for my friend, and I'm so glad I did! After browsing through all the beautifully displayed options, I settled on the Vanilla Taro Cake--partly because taro isn't something you come across every day, and also because at $33 for an 8-inch cake, it felt like an excellent value. At first, I was a little hesitant since it didn't look quite as polished or elegant as some of the other cakes (like the gorgeous red bean taro pudding cake), but the staff assured me this one is a customer favorite. I decided to take their advice--and what a win that turned out to be! The cake itself was everything I hoped for: light, moist, and not overly sweet, which is exactly what I look for in an Asian bakery-style cake. The taro paste in the center was just the right amount--smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced so it enhanced the cake without overpowering it. Everyone at the party loved it, and honestly, I think it was even better than cakes I've had from other popular spots like 85°C. Since our group has had more than our fair share of cakes from Tous Les Jours and King's Hawaiian, this was such a refreshing and welcome change. The Vanilla Taro Cake made the celebration feel special, and I can already see us coming back to JJ Bakery for more birthday cakes in the future. It's rare to find cakes that are both delicious and a great value, but this one absolutely checked both boxes. Parking: Super easy--classic plaza-style parking, which made the whole experience stress-free. Candles: They included two free red candles, which was thoughtful, but when I asked for extras, they said no. For comparison, places like Tous Les Jours sometimes provide a full candle set and a lighter, but maybe that's why their prices are higher. Just a tip--bring your own candles if you'll need more than two! Overall Experience: 9/10. I'm docking one point for the limited candles and the cake's presentation not being as eye-catching as some others, but everything else was excellent. I'll definitely be back for more cakes here--as long as prices stay this reasonable, JJ Bakery is going to be my go-to.

Fair prices and a great variety of pastries and cakes both individual slices and whole cakes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Came in during the rain and it was still somewhat busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The quality of the sweet breads is good. I tried the strawberry square and although pretty the cake was dry and sweeter than what I would predict for an Asian bakery. Can't wait to true the strawberry crème brûlée and the matcha roll. Would love to come back for the sliced bread.

The Service: Angelina was helping me at the counter. Friendly & helpful service. Very welcoming. She was very efficient & multitasking. Great customer service! The Pastry: Their pastry totally reminded me of my childhood in Taiwan!! Very authentic Taiwanese pastry & bread. So many different varieties to choose from. Can't wait to go back again! The Parking: Plaza parking lot

In search of a bakery that feels like Asia? Or a place to find a good birthday cake? I would suggest you to try JJ Bakery. When you enter the bakery, you find yourself sorrounded by so many options ranging from cakes to small baked goods. The cashier's wait at the counter after you select your favorite treats. There are savory treats, small and tasty for lunch and sweet treats that are perfect to have for desert. I also love their cakes on display, so colorful and filled with decoration. I have tried a couple of them during birthdays and celebrations. They make their cakes perfect, smooth and soft. As for the baked goods, I would say that I wished there were more savory options. Thank you JJ Bakery for the experiance!

wanted to grab a cake for my mom's birthday came in here to check out their selection i've heard their cakes are not on the sweet side, which is exactly what i needed they had a good selection of cakes friendly service and prices of whole cakes were fair i was not confident that they would make the cakes fresh if i were to put in an order for the next day i just had a gut feeling but i placed an order anyways, hoping for the best i came back the next day to pick up the cake. it was boxed up nicely. when i opened the box in my car, it was the same cake as displayed the day prior the edges of the cake were so sad looking i exchanged it for another cake, the vanilla with red bean taro. it came with two candles and a "hbd" sign my mom said she enjoyed it, but to me it was dry and i wont be getting a whole cake from here again but! i did grab a few of the red bean pastries and a chocolate roll. both of those were delicious! great bakery for picking up asian pastries [[HIGHLIGHT]]also very clean and organized :)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] parking: located in the torrance star plaza, lots of parking but on the wknds it gets pretty busy but you can park in the adjacent lot

Ask the Community - JJ Bakery

Do you guys have peanut free cake options?

Most of their cakes do not contain peanuts, but may contain almonds, sesame seeds, etc. Their kitchen is not "nut-free" so there may be cross contamination even if the cake doesn't contain nuts.

Do they customize cakes for a occasion?

Yes, but it depends on what/how you want to customize.

Does this location serve Taiwanese breakfast items?

Select items between 28 - 32 oz., & item is pre-ordered 3 days in advance. Check their website under "what's new" for menu.

I had more than enough points to redeem a free pastry reward, and since I was just at nearby Del…read moreAmo Fashion Center, I figured why not use one of my free pastry rewards at this Paris Baguette? So first things first, be aware that this Paris Baguette is actually inside Hannam Chain Supermarket at Village Del Amo on the southwest corner of Torrance and Hawthorne. I didn't know it at the time, so I circumnavigated the plaza, looking for Paris Baguette signage like I usually do for the other standalone locations. After stopping my car somewhere in the plaza, I had to double-check the location to be inside the Hannam Chain Supermarket, which I had just literally passed by minutes ago. D'oh! lol I hadn't even heard of Hannam Chain Supermarket, so I took some time to explore the store even though Paris Baguette is literally closest to the entrance. The overall selection of baked goods kind of disappointed me because it felt like there were fewer choices of pastries here compared to the other locations I've been to before. However, oddly enough, they had more selections available! I think it's because they have time stamps listed on each pastry so that the pastries are inside the display case for no more than 4 hours. I thought the pastries would have remained good at least until the end of the day, so to hear of their 4 hour shelf life was a bit surprising to me. For the record, I've been to several other Paris Baguettes before, but this was the first time I noticed these time stamps. Even though the variety of pastries was not as much compared to the other standalone locations, I still had a difficult time deciding which pastry to get! However, I noticed a new flavor of a supreme croissant I hadn't seen before: pink velvet. I've heard of red velvet, but not pink, and presuming that this is a seasonal offering for Valentine's Day, I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to try one before that special day. They had other supreme croissant flavors like chocolate and salted caramel pretzel, but I'm sure those flavors will be offered for much longer than the pink velvet. I do remember trying a strawberry supreme croissant from the Cerritos location, so perhaps after Valentine's Day, that would take the place of the pink velvet. After grabbing one of two Pink Velvet Supreme Croissants left in the display case, I made my way around and to the register. Phone in hand, I had the Paris Baguette app pulled up to redeem my reward. Actually, a good part of me had thought that this location inside Hannam Chain wouldn't honor my reward because for Tous Les Jours, the locations inside Hmart wouldn't be eligible for earning points or redeeming rewards. Luckily, Paris Baguette is not Tous Les Jours, and I was able to redeem my reward with no trouble. The cashier who rang me up was pretty friendly as well. She placed my Pink Velvet Supreme Croissant in a small paper bag and wished me a good day. While there are a handful of tables inside the food hall portion of Hannam Chain, most were occupied by customers of other eateries, so I simply went outside to enjoy my free sweet treat. The pink velvet ruby chocolate that covered the top portion of the round croissant didn't have nearly as much flavor, though the Valentine's sprinkles on top did make for a nice touch at least. Also, the custard cream inside didn't taste like anything at all! It wasn't bad, but it makes me wonder how much more flavorful the salted caramel pretzel would have been. I'll be sure to get that on my next visit to a Paris Baguette! I got the croissant about 2.5 hours after they were prepared, so maybe they would have tasted better had I gone 2 hours earlier? Lastly, I'm kind of shocked that this is pretty much the only Paris Baguette location in the South Bay. With how expansive a city like Torrance is, you would think they'd have at least a second location elsewhere like in Hmart. Otherwise, the next closest location would be in Long Beach, which literally just opened at The Pike Outlets. Overall, it's not a bad Paris Baguette to go to, but if you live in the South Bay, you'd be better off downloading the 85C Bakery app over the Paris Baguette app as there are much more 85C locations in the area. Also, this Paris Baguette may not necessarily carry your favorite pastries here, so heed caution if you plan to go out of your way to visit this patisserie.

They close at 8:30 and I came in 2 hours before. The pastries leftover were scooched over and the labels did not match entirely what they were. It was difficult to know what I was picking up onto the tray. There was also a small fruit fly or gnat flying around inside the bakery case as well. The icing of the orange donut thing also got stuck to the box and we had to scrape it off... Out of 4 pastries none of them were really that good, it really made me not want to come back. I also ordered a plain iced coffee and the coffee quality is not good at all. Tastes like it was made from a Mr coffee machine at home. Service was friendly. We dropped in for breakfast, and honestly, everything was surprisingly good. Here is how our meal stacked up: Pancakes & French Bread with Egg: Fluffy, comforting, and perfectly prepared. You can really taste the freshness in their baked goods. Hawaiian-Style Breakfast Burrito: The absolute standout! Honestly, this Hawaiian-style burrito was better than what I've had at a lot of dedicated Mexican spots. It's a definite must-try. Beyond the food, the service was excellent and attentive, friendly, and efficient. Plus, they have a huge parking lot, making it super easy to pull up, park, and head right in without the usual Los Angeles parking headache. Whether you're stopping by to pick up fresh baked goods or sitting down for a full meal, this place lives up to the name!
