Just got home from a late lunch. I went with my husband and daughter. We had our masks on and went inside for a table. We were surprised to see a full bar, no seats available, no one had a mask on. I get it, they were seated so masks off to drink, eat, etc. There were plastic dividers between every 4 th or so stool and most tables were full. Live music was on and we asked for a table as far away from ppl as possible. We kept our masks on even after we ordered. It took 37 minutes to get our food. My husband's 'open' face sandwich had to be closed because only one side had meat on it. The diet soda was flat. Finally the food came and when our waitress left, she never came back. Onion soup was just ok. We needed salt, never even got to ask her for it. She didn't return to see how everything was. We needed napkins and had to ask a waiter passing by. No waitress ever even looked out way to see if we needed help. I needed a refill and had to drink my husbands soda. We asked a different waiter to go find our waitress and when she came back we asked for more soda, but we were nearly finished eating. The food wasn't bad, but nothing super great. For $90.00 it wasn't worth it. read more

Took us three attempts to have dinner here, but finally succeeded by making a reservation. Food and service was excellent. We ate upstairs which was much quieter than downstairs. Not realizing they had chicken wings on the menu, we got the duck egg roll to start. Very glad because they were great. Main course was steak tips and wife had the fish. Came for brunch, but they only do brunch on Sunday. I blame yelp for guiding me here on a Saturday while looking for brunch. EVERYONE was very nice and polite. Absoulty horrible service. When we entered the restaurant we were not informed of any precautions the bar was doing during covid. The bar was not seperated to sit at, and we were not told if we could sit there. When asking the hostess if we could sit at a table we were given one. BUT it was a problem to only buy appetizers and drinks without dinner. We were about to leave but then all of sudden it was ok. When ordering our drinks. The waitress, kept pressuring us to buy more! And not 5 minutes after we got our food, the bus staff came over to try to clean it up. They continued to come over every 3 minutes to try to take plates and glasses. We had to keep telling them "No, were not finished." They were so concerned with trying to flip the table, that it completey ruined our night. We were unable to enjoy any of it. However, when I made the reservation I wrote that it is my wife's birthday and requested they bring out a peanut butter dessert after dinner. Absolutely wonderful. The service is the best I've had in a long time. Every single employee was on top of their job. I've worked in many restaurants and am not usually this impressed by service quality. The food is DELICIOUS and they always have specials available. Even the desserts are amazing. We had my 30th birthday here in January and the staff accommodated my 25-person dinner party. They even gave us the private upstairs room because no one had reserved it. Wonderful experience. I've been to JJ Coopers a few times and the food is always great! This past weekend I had a brunch for my birthday and was so glad I chose this restaurant. The managers were so accommodating and nice with my large reservation and allowed us to bring balloons and a cake. Our waitress Melissa went above and beyond! She was super attentive and such a sweetheart! She really is a fantastic server and knows what she's doing. I loved the champagne mule and my friends loved the berry lamosas. For appetizers we had a cheese board, Kung Pao Calamari and the cauliflower pizzas the morning slice and the caprese. I ordered the calamari without peanuts because my friend has an allergy and I even heard Melissa double check with the food runner that there were no peanuts before putting it on the table. The cauliflower pizzas were a big hit, probably the best I've had and I can't wait to eat them again. I had the chicken and waffles panini which was amazing! Everyone loved their food and we all had such a great time. I am looking forward to coming back for brunch and dinner and will definitely keep them in mind for future events. read more

This place would have been great if I had not had the LB Chop salad for dinner. On leaving I felt a twinge in my gut and told my date I had to go right home. I went straight to the bathroom and had horrible diarrhea, painful abdominal cramps, and nausea. My face was sweating and I needed help to get to my room. Today I am almost over whatever was in that salad. I feel I got food poisoning. This happened to me once before at this restaurant. It will not happen again because I will not be going back. The ambiance is nice, the music way too loud, the help is good although they want my plate before I am finished, and the location is great. I hope the kitchen staff get a handle on this before someone winds up in the hospital or worse. I can't be the only one this has happened to. read more

As cliche as it sounds I would give them 6 stars if I could!!! Waiting for a table here was a breeze since they take your cell number and text you when a table is ready. We waited at the bar and had a drink listening to a live acoustic band. Once seated, our server Georgette was fantastic, a budding comic, whose one liners were appreciated and very funny. We ordered chipotle chicken wings. I'm no wing expert but I loved them, crispy on the outside, very meaty, piping hot and super messy. We also ordered a broiled tilapia special that was fantastic and I ate every bite. They have a varied dessert menu where everything looked great. Cappuccinos looked and tasted perfect. I must also mention, the bar was full, the restaurant full and they had a private party in the party room. But guess what? They have enough managers, wait and support staff and a large enough kitchen that service was flawless, prompt and always courteous. Other local restaurants should check this out as an example of a well oiled machine that works!! I can't say enough what a great time we had here and how the food exceeded expectations. We had drinks, an appetizer, 2 entrees, dessert and cappuccinos and the bill was just under $90. I recommend this restaurant fully, you will love it! read more

My husband threw me a surprise 30th birthday party at JJ Coopers & I loved it! This was my first time here & the staff who worked the party was amazing & the food was so delicious; everyone kept telling me how good it was! I didn't eat much that night & they gave us 4-5 huge trays of food to take home! The amount of food I took home could have fed 10 people for a week. The upstairs space was really nice & perfect for a smaller (35-40 people) private event. My husband said they were easy to work with & everyone I came across was great. Food was amazing. I ordered the steak and it came with burnt broccoli and asparagus. The marinated steak was cooked to perfection. 3 of my friends ordered the salmon on a slab and they all loved it! My fifth girlfriend ordered steak tidbits and it came with sweet potato fries. She was pleased with her meal as well. Service was great we had an energetic young woman who got everything right and was completely attentive. The only reason I'm taking away one star is for noise level. We could barely hear each other. I had been here before they changed the name and I had the same issue last time. This would be my go to place in LB if it was just less noisy inside. They need to do something about the acoustics. Could it be that us ladies are not youngsters? Maybe. Overall the place is clean, comfortable and food is awesome! I would minus half a star in my rating for noise but I can't so it's 4 stars from this Yelper. BTW they allow you to make reservation on Yelp and they were super prompt when we arrived! read more

Amazing food, terrible service. We really really enjoyed our food, it was delicious. However, it took forever for the food to come and there was a chipped glass that left a splinter in my friend's lip. There was also a mistake with the bill after we asked for it to be split that would have caused us to vastly overpay of we hadn't noticed the mistake.
