This location has been here for many years. Their recipes are consistently good. The wings are smaller than they used to be and they don't give out napkins, but I seem to still purchase from them. I don't know why they don't give napkins with food. They have parking in the back which is helpful if the street parking is full. Thank you for continuing to make great food. The wings and fries were very tasty

    Sole plate

I was so excited to try this place. I was like I haven't had sole fish in a while so let me order that with some prawns. My Mother-in-law ordered snapper and okra. I gave two stars because she seemed to like the fish here. Well my sole was rubbery and way thinner than it should be. It's like they cut a piece of sole to make two pieces, that's how thin it was. I wouldn't have been mad if it was crunchy, but it was rubbery and hard to chew. I never experienced this before with sole. It didn't even taste like sole so not sure what they're using. The shrimp was halfway decent, but I was already mad about my soul so I ate two pieces and it was a wrap. The red beans and rice had absolutely no flavor, very disappointed. No onions bell peppers or seasoning. Somebody literally boiled a pot of beans with water and that's it. I wanted some dessert, but it was overkill. Way too many and I couldn't see a date on them. When it comes to stuff like this, less is more. Four flavors is plenty. Hush puppies were ok and okra. The service was friendly and the place look clean in the seating area. I wasn't happy with this meal. They need to get a cook in there for some flavor. That sole they giving out, they need to throw it out. Take it off the menu until you get some real sole. Imposter for real! Sorry I won't go back. If you do decide to try it, eat it there or in your car because those fries get soggy quick.

Sole Fish Overcooked 12 pieces of fish. Hard as bricks, and not edible. Doordash offered a $5 credit. I paid $70 for trash.

JJ's Fish is usually a reliable spot for me, but this visit wasn't my favorite. The food was still good as usual, but they were out of ice, had no lemonade, and the ranch just wasn't it this time. The gentleman working was nice and provided good customer service so I'm thinking it was just an off day for them. I'll definitely be back because I know they can do better, hopefully, my next visit is back to their usual standard

    Seafood gumbo is horrible

This place is a total bust! My seafood gumbo was mostly soup no seafood with a few pieces of chicken and sausages! My fish was overcooked a bit! The JJ on west grand in Oakland is way better, this location is a total let down!

5 stars on the food! Seasoned well, didn't feel cheated on the large plates. Equally loved the prawns and red snapper. The fires were crispy, maybe a little over salted, but hey it's fried food. Also appreciate how they gave us PLENTY of tartar sauce, ketchup and hot sauce. Now for the ambiance, 2 stars at best. Immediately as you walk in there's a sign that says No napkins or utensils. Also not one hand sanitizer dispenser was in sight! Very bleak decor and trust me as soon as you walk in, you want to order your food and not even wait inside and just sit/wait in your car. W/ the 5 for food and 2 for ambiance it = 3 stars overall.

This is a very good spot for Chicken and Fish in Richmond. To avoid the wait you must call your order in. You can eat here but you are better off taking your food to go. They take credit and debit cards. Food is made fresh to order. There are other locations in the Bay Area as well. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for good Chicken and Wings.

The name of this nondescript takeout operation is actually its address on Macdonald Avenue. Ironically, the most popular place to eat in this neighborhood is McDonald's. I barely found it because it looks like a vacant storefront with a For Lease sign. A red OPEN sign was the only giveaway. I happened to read that this place offers some excellent Korean-style dishes. I think the menu can be more accurately described as global. It's apparently a mother-and-son business with the kitchen run by a Korean-American chef named Daniel who doesn't share his last name. His mother works the front of the house, and people order beforehand and come in for pick up. There's a community table presumably set up for dining, but the space felt more like a dental waiting area. Through the order window, I could see Daniel way in the back beyond a passthrough. I used their QR code to review the menu and order on the spot. All the entrees appeared enticing including Grilled Short Rib and Fried Pitman Farms Chicken. I chose the $24.50 Market Grain Salad. It was beautifully presented even in a takeout box (Photo 9). There was a mix of arugula, iceberg, romaine, and Treviso radicchio at the base topped with visual jewels: Fuji apple, Sonia Rojas cara cara orange, blood orange, mandarin orange, muscat grapes, and avocado. Further toppings included spring onion., tarragon, sunflower seeds, English cucumber, heirloom carrots, and French breakfast radish. Farro, red quinoa, and French feta cheese added more layers of flavor and texture. Harissa grilled Pitman Farms chicken provided a succulent serving of protein, and a unique sesame soy lemon chili dressing finished off a masterful creation. It was an impeccable salad. The $11 Skin On Gaufrette Fries were cross-cut and impossibly tender with a tasty dipping sauce (Photo 6). A genuine winner! I am surprised I have never reviewed it. Recently, I did a small catering order with the owner. She was very accommodating and pleasant to work with. Since they do not offer a catering menu, the order is based on how many items you want. I ordered 12 chicken and 12 pork sandwiches; And 20 orders of pork eggrolls. Everything was split in halves and tasted fantastic. My guests were very happy.

It's like a pho salad. It has tons of bean sprouts underneath the noodles and a lot of deep fried garlic pieces that make the noodles taste like Hong Kong crunchy noodles. At first I thought the egg noodles were fried. It was crunchy and there wasn't a lot of noodles but mostly a lot of sprouts and herbs. There were a lot of fatty barbecue pieces that I did not eat. I enjoyed one shrimp and one piece of squid. There were a ton of fake crab meat. The side soup was very nice and hot but had a taste of chicken fat and lots of salt and MSG. The noodle dish is extremely tasty and doesn't need any addition of soup. This was excellent on a hot day after a nice hike at Tilden Park. My husband ordered the same dish as me at my recommendation and loved it. My friend had their chow fun with seafood and barbecue. She enjoyed it and it was a generous amount so she took home half. This place is not shy about using MSG and the food is very salty and strong tasting. I find the dishes much cheaper than other Vietnamese restaurants. My dish was only $13.50. That's very cheap since it was full of herbs and seafood. Service is very efficient when they're not busy. No frills. Service is very slow when it's busy. Most of their customers are people who are coming here during their office lunch break during the weekdays. I noticed it was very quiet on a weekend. I'm still going to go back to my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Berkeley next time I am in the area, Phosho Dough.
