Spring rolls are always good for me as long as there's no bean sprouts. Which they made to order. I was a bit surprised there was at least a good portion of beef in it. My friend said her pho was good. I'm still used to my pho spots in San Jose.. but this place is second to the closest I can get in the area. Staff and service was alright. This is our 2nd visit & we enjoyed dining here more this time. Last time, I was intrigued by a tower of plates served to the table next to us. It is called the Self Roll ($22.95). It is 10 plates of wrappers - vermicelli or rice paper and a plate with 2 meats, veggies, & dipping sauce. I chose 5 vermicelli, 5 rice paper with grilled pork & grilled chicken. It was a little messy but fun wrapping the meats in the wrappers. Super yummy, too. Meats were lean & topped with crunchy garlic. The tower can feed two! Hubby had the vermicelli bowl ($22.95) It was very flavorful even without the sauce. Again, the serving is big enough for two. To top it off, a self serve counter offered complimentary dessert - soft serve, and two others, not sure what they were though but it was perfect palette cleansers! Service is simple. I've been coming here for a long time and usually enjoy the food, but I was disappointed with the policy on the Pho Special (P1). I asked if I could swap out the tripe for a different meat, and was told that substitutions aren't allowed--I'd just get less meat instead. That feels pretty inflexible for a special that already includes multiple proteins. It would be great if guests could make simple swaps like this without having the portion reduced. This is honestly disappointing to write because I've supported Joe's Pho for years. I've ignored a lot of the negative reviews online because I prefer to experience places for myself. I've eaten at all three Joe's Pho locations--the two in San Leandro and now the Dublin location--and unfortunately, the Dublin location has gone from disappointing to simply frustrating. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It's clean, modern, and has a tropical atmosphere that makes you want to sit down and enjoy a good meal. The surprising part? Every time I've gone, the restaurant has been nearly empty. From the moment you're seated, the staff make you feel like they're trying to rush you out the door. Before you've even had a chance to settle in, they're asking if you're ready to order. Once the food is dropped off, they disappear. Instead of providing attentive service, it felt like they were more interested in getting back behind the counter and on their phones than actually checking on their guests. The prices have also gone up, which I completely understand. Higher rent, newer location--fine. But if you're going to charge more, the food should justify it. Unfortunately, it doesn't. The pho has become incredibly bland. The broth lacks the deep, rich flavor that made Joe's stand out years ago. Everything tasted under-seasoned and forgettable. I kept telling myself maybe they were still working through the challenges of opening a new location, but after several visits, nothing has changed. To make matters worse, they no longer seem to keep basic condiments stocked. The chili oil and garlic chili that used to complement the pho are either gone completely or sitting nearly empty, and no one bothers to refill them. It's another sign that attention to detail just isn't there anymore. But what really pushed this experience over the edge happened when it was time to pay. Our bill came to around $65, and I handed the server a $100 bill. After waiting several minutes without receiving my change, I finally had to ask for it. His response? "I thought it was my tip." I'm sorry... what? I've worked in the restaurant industry, and I always tip. I respect servers because I know how hard the job can be. But assuming you're entitled to keep someone's entire $100 bill without asking is completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. A $35 tip on a $65 meal isn't something you assume--it's something a customer chooses to leave. That interaction left a worse impression than the food itself. I wanted to like this location. I gave it multiple chances because I genuinely enjoyed Joe's Pho in the past. Unfortunately, each visit has been worse than the last. Maybe it's management. Maybe it's training. One thing I always appreciated was the complimentary dessert, but the last few times we visited they were out every single time. Not a huge deal, but definitely noticeable when it used to be part of the experience. We ordered pho and it arrived lukewarm, almost like it had been sitting out before being served. That was disappointing since a hot, flavorful broth is what makes pho so comforting. We also ordered the pork egg rolls, but the texture seemed off and they tasted undercooked. We were given menus and water but had to flag down our waiter who was chatting with another coworker. Items ordered: Sate beef noodle soup- They entered the correct item on the check but I was given a beef stew instead. Beef stew was a large portion with plenty of meat and tasted flavorful. Large BBH2- Large beef rib with plenty of protein. Regular chicken breast with broccoli pho- Large bowl of protein and noodles. We had the A9 rice cup cake (highly recommend), SP2 vietnamese crepes (highly recommend), SP5 woven rice vermicelli with grilled pork (highly recommend), GC 14 grilled pork spring rolls, GC 3 grilled chicken and avocado spring rolls, cheese avocado smoothie and egg cappucino. We would not have the grilled chicken and avocado spring rolls again. They were not as delicious as the pork. I've had more flavorful pork spring rolls, but we enjoyed these. The slushies or at least the strawberry one was way too artificial for my taste. To put it in perspective it tasted more artificial than those grandma strawberry candies. The ambiance is really nice and they have a cool photo op and piano at the front. But when you walk it it's a little disorganized since there's two entrances and no sign or person waiting to greet you. You kind of just walk in and find someone to seat you and take your order. You don't have one server, you have multiple. As for the service, that's a main reason I'm giving the star rating above. The pho noodle comes out quick, but if you order drinks or anything other than noodles, it will take forever. To put it into perspective, our table ordered noodles and sandwiches. We got the noodles quickly and tables that arrived after us also received their noodle dishes. But the sandwich was nowhere to be found. By the time we got the sandwiches, they arrived in to-go containers despite us sitting and eating, and by the time we got the sandwich, everyone else who got noodles was done eating. Food came out almost instantly. Combo: 4/5, Took me a minute to notice the fried pork skin toppings to add to the appetizers, it was good but a bit on the chewy side. I preferred the bahn beo and bahn bot loc to the mung bean dumplings but they were all good! Perfectly sharing size for 2 people. Pho: 5/5, great broth and so. much. meat. Honestly wish there were more noodles, I would have paced myself if I knew the meat to noodle ratio in advance. Second time visiting Joe's Pho and I like their dishes even more. I didn't eat the pho this visit, I ordered their grilled meat and banh xeo. All were very tasty. The grilled pork was so flavorful, I just wished there's more! The banh xeo was refreshing and crispy. i like that they give you three smaller ones rather than one giant portion. this allows sharing easier. My kids were hungry so they wanted to eat pho (large size). When the bowl of pho came out we noticed the portion of noodles were very small. It looked like the size of a regular/ small. The bowl was big, soup was plenty and they did add more beef than a regular portion. When asked about the small amount of noodles, the staff (Bing) simply just gave us extra noodles with no charge. That was very nice of him. He even said that in the future if noodles is not enough, just ask and they will give it to you at no additional cost. The first time we visited they had pandan waffle. The indoor space of Joe's Pho is soo chaotic and random in a good way lol I feel like I was in a movie set but it was like a british street lined with brick walls. It was funny and was a great conversation starter. Not to mention the huge Bumblebee transformer lol! I think I've found my new favorite pho spot in the Tri-Valley! Joe's Pho has a beautiful, modern, and spacious layout that feels fresh and welcoming. The staff here are incredibly kind and efficient. You can really feel the hospitality from the moment you walk in. The Bun Rieu and Banh Xeo are absolute standouts. I also really enjoyed the Banh Beo (love the presentation on the rack!) and the Grilled Pork Vermicelli. While the spring rolls and egg rolls could use a little improvement--they didn't taste quite as fresh as the other dishes during my visit--the rest of the meal was so good it didn't bother me much. There is a free dessert bar, can you believe?? This is such a unique treat! From the soft serve to the Chè, it's a great way to end the meal. We've been to the original San Leandro branch years ago and are glad they opened in Hacienda Crossings. A hybrid salad and noodle bowl that's very balanced in flavors and textures. Banh Xeo - Highly recommend for sharing. The atmosphere was vibrant and seems like a great spot for large parties. There are TVs and music all around. They also have a self-serve ice cream station (currently out of order) and fruits. Their menu selection is large - pretty much every Vietnamese dish you can think of is on there. I love that they include pictures to showcase the dishes. We had the pho, which was perfect for the weather. The broth was homey and clear. The steak slices tasted premium. We also ordered the roll set with two choices of meat, which comes with rice paper or vermicelli. Taro coconut latte was great as well. Service could be better though. it seemed like our server couldn't speak English well, and they didn't notify us that they were out of rice paper for the roll set. We didn't mind the vermicelli but wished we knew before. Overall, the food was incredible. I would definitely come back to try more of their menu items! read more

First time here. Pretty good customer service is always great. Food came out fast. After we finish eating. The guy told us free ice cream on the house. Nice. The place is really big. Comfortable to eat without feeling you're too close to other table. read more
