We both had biscuits & gravy, eggs, home fried potatoes and sausage, and everything was perfect. Service was fast and the staff was amazing. They treated us like family that's actually liked. This place is ON-POINT! Went with a good friend for the first time this morning. Had the 2 egg special and he had a vegetarian omelet. We both had coffees and water. Well we decided to try this place since it's close to home.. The menu is your standard diner food but I was pleasantly surprised to see the Monte cristo sandwich (haven't had one in years).. We were greeted and seated promptly by a friendly girl of about 17. Our waitress arrived quickly and took our drink order then brought our drinks and took our food order. The food arrived quickly and the waitress(Alina according to the receipt) brought our ranch dressing and strawberry jam we requested. Unfortunately that was the last we saw of her. Another waitress asked if my daughter wanted more ice tea. We ended up having to ask another waitress for our check. Right before we stood up to leave someone finally asked if I'd like more coffee. I wish I could rave about Joe's, but it was just so-so. Of course, there's not much you can do to basic eggs and fried potatoes. My friend had the biscuits and gravy and it was just average. I think if you're looking for a decent breakfast, you probably can't go wrong here. They have a selection of jams and jellies to go with your breakfast, which is a nice touch! We live in the neighborhood and have had a number of meals here over the years, but we walked out on Saturday morning without eating (something we never do at any restaurant). It wasn't even really busy when we arrived just after 8 o'clock, but there was one table that was monopolizing two staff members, one of whom was apparently our server. It's nice to be a considered a "regular" at a restaurant or bar: someone who gets lots of attention from the staff, and who's given seemingly endless time to chat. But when that kind of special treatment takes basic service away from other customers, that's a problem. My husband and I are NOT impatient people, but we weren't in the mood to keep waiting and waiting to receive something as simple as coffee and water, especially when the place wasn't jammed. So out we walked. Our experience on July 20 at Joe's was so disappointing that Melrose Kitchen, just down the road, will be getting our weekend breakfast business for the foreseeable future. I'd much rather give my money to people who not only serve good food, but who also seem to really care about their customers--ALL of their customers. Up until our last visit, I would have given 3-4 stars to Joe's, but our last experience rates no higher than a 1. read more

I came here for my wife's birthday breakfast. There were a total of 7 of us and none of us had been here before. We all had a flawless experience. Mmmmmmmmmm I was totally lied too by my own child!!! It was so so.. at best... biscuits were not fluffy nor fresh and the to die to sausage gravy needs to be rethought and redone. Went to a late breakfast here with my family on Saturday and were not impressed at all. Our waitress Carrie made you feel like an inconvenience for being there and she was not pleasent at all. When we sent back the waffle twice she was no where to be found. If it were not for Joe coming by our table and another waitress named Layla helping I would be rating one star. Joe is the owner and introduced us and made us feel very welcome. If this was based off of Joe and Layla alone I would be giving 5 stars! The pancakes were VERY good, the waffle was sent back twice till it finally came out crispy(thank you Joe and Layla for making sure we left happy). As a fellow server my advice is for Joe to get more severs like Layla and your reviews will be all 5 stars. So I visited Joe's yesterday for breakfast, I was in the Phoenix area visiting my sister in law so the whole family decided to go and find a local restaurant to patronize. 1st things first, the food is amazing I couldn't have asked for a better breakfast experience from a small restaurant. The family ordered collectively about $100 worth of food and everyone was destroying there plates with enjoyment! Absolutely will go back and eat the food again, so now for the flip side and why I couldn't give it 5 stars. The building is lacking on the outside I know they are a small bussness but a coat of paint could go a long way for the curb appeal. The interior decor was about the same as the outside, it did have a classic diner feel to it but was lackluster. The floor had tripping hazards including an electrical cord and old tables and other equipment by the bathroom area. The layout did not complement the ceiling and floor tiles, the bar area was completely different from the rest of the place and all together it looked like 4 different locations smooshed together. I will absolutely return for the fantastic food I just hope that a budget can be put together for the decor, a uniform look will go a long way in my eyes! read more

This place has gone down hill fast! First time I came here it was amazing, then I went back and it was shitty and this time was even worse! Terrible customer service! Pancakes were stale cold and tasted like it had dirt mixed in. The omelette was slimy and looked undercoTold the waitress (Carrie O on the receipt) that they were bad not even a "I'm sorry" or "let me get you something else" just an ok and took them off the bill. So ive passed by this place alot and figured we'd give it a try. The atmosphere inside is very homey. Didnt wait long to be seated. The service was semi decent. When the food came out it looked delicious......but once taking a bite out of the potatoes and bacon it was cold. Maybe the order was sitting out for a bit before being brought to our table? The food was so bad, I barely ate any of mine and the waitress never bothered to ask if everything was okay. Original review for July 2017: We just moved to the area and came here for breakfast on 4th of July, hoping to find our new go-to breakfast spot. Unfortunately, this isn't it. I'm not sure if they forgot about the holiday or just weren't anticipating that amount of customers, but it was busy and they were understaffed. Despite that, our waitress was very sweet and really on top of her game. She keep our coffees (which were excellent) and waters full and noticed when we didn't receive our toast. I have been coming to Joe's for about a year now, and have never been disappointed. I can honestly say that they make my favorite pancakes in Phoenix. I don't know what it is, but I think the batter is sweeter. Whatever it is, don't change. From there, I honestly don't think you can go wrong. Biscuits and gravy (regular or chorizo) is always a favorite. While corn beef hash has never been a favorite of mine. I find myself ordering this here frequently. I can't say enough about the food, and then you get the mom and pop service from employees who not only seem to care, but actually want to be friendly.
