Joe is a Culinary School hraduate. He has experience at top Southwest dining venues. He brings the ambiance of his family's small town diners and his culinary skills to 7th Ave. They were featured on Channel 8's Check Please! Arizona February 14. 2026. Great ratings Service is caring and excellent. We will return, mostly for breakfadt.

Please come super hungry because you will leave Joe's Diner absolutely full. Our server (I think her name is Amanda as printed on the receipt) was so good. Her way of recommending food is irresistible. We came thinking about omelette with toast but end up having honey mustard fried chicken sandwich and pancakes. And her recommendation did not disappoint. It was so yummy and we found ourselves struggling to stop even when we were full! Coffee and tea comes to $10 before tax and tips which is quite a lot in my opinion.

The food is always great. The service is always excellent. The ambience is to yourself, with others, or celebrating a special occasion with family or friends. Today is just because I wanted some good breakfast before I start my new week. Thank you to the waitress with the tattoos. Great customer service, you are always welcoming when I come to Joe's

A+! Excellent service from start to finish. Yummy fresh food! Just what I needed after an intense morning of working out. I was craving the basic American breakfast: eggs, bacon and pancakes. We have driven past this spot so many times and have been wanting to try it. I'm so glad we did! We loved it. This place gives old-school diner with a homely, "basic-but-in-a-good-way" vibe and is a comforting place where time stands still. We also were very fortunate to meet Joe himself. What a great guy. He is genuinely happy and helps his staff and greets the customers and loves what he does. He personally had a conversation with us and was very personable. He did tell us the potatoes came from a local farm in Arizona where they cut/cube the potatoes themselves (farm to table). Our experience was great here! We had the classic: bacon, eggs, potatoes and pancake. All very delicious. Eggs were made to my liking and flavorful. Pancakes were excellent and hit the spot. Of course bacon was nice and crisp and tasty. Potatoes were delicious and flavored well. We went on a Sunday during lunch hours. Service was fast. Next time you are wanting a comforting American breakfast with great vibes and service, come check out Joe's Diner. We definitely are making our way back.

Well 2 years later they did include butter on my pancakes. The original buttermilk is the best choice and these were hot, fresh and rank highly on the list. Smuggle your own maple syrup in if possible. Places that can't give you real syrup will never get 5 - stars. Ths syrup helps make the pancakes shine.

Best pancakes and bacon ever ! The waitress, which my wife and I got, was the young lady with short blonde hair. She was nice friendly and gave the right amount of attention as my wife and I dined. The owner also walks around and is very friendly. The vibe is cool and they definitely have some of the best food you will ever taste in the Phoenix area.

This little gem is hiding in the Pierson Place Historic District is a must visit for those who enjoys a relaxing and delicious breakfast. I have been in many countries and tried a diversity of local dishes, and this place just went to the top of my list for breakfast in Phoenix area. I had the chicken fried steak with pancakes. So yummy. To make extra special, they have their own jam. Ask about their Joe's Homemade Jam! The service is great. Thanks for Carrie and Kenny for making us comfortable.

Friends, First time here. Sunday morning rush, waited only about 20 minutes. Makayla our server was super sweet and made great recommendation, was very attentive during the entire dining experience. The food came out, a few errors. Waffle was su-par, not crisp on the outside. Some of our dishes were cold. My plate with over medium eggs came with eggs over-easy....super runny. I had ordered them over medium with no runny white. The dish was taken back to re-prepare. All my guest had already finished eating and my dish still had not come out, so I cancelled. The team was apologetic about the long wait to make on the fly, but, the service here was fast friendly. Food was what can be expected of breakfast food, not much wow factor. Grade: Solid C+ Makayla's service: A+

Great local breakfast place in Melrose. The food was pretty good and the service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and took care of some substitutions we needed due to food allergies. The restaurant has a cozy, home vibe and the dishes feel very homemade. We tried the Border omelette and they were nice to substitute turkey instead of Ham. Their croissant turkey club was also pretty good and I liked the seasoned fries a lot. The pancake was a little doughy, but it wasn't bad once we tried it with syrup. Overall not a ball place for some good breakfast. We also took a cinnamon roll to go and look forward to trying it later! The place is a little older and doesn't feel modern but it just adds to the charm of this location. Definitely prefer this place to other breakfast places in this street. There's also plenty of parking around the restaurant and in the back.

I feel like an absolute fool for sleeping on this delicious diner. We just moved to the neighborhood and decided to finally prioritize it. We got some more simple dishes to get a good sense of the quality of food: Plain omelette add cheese (we did pepper jack) - very good and moist. It's surprising how often a simple dish can be ruined. Blueberry lemon curd pancakes - absolutely phenomenal. The pancakes are great without the curd and even more elevated with it. Highly recommend. Biscuit and gravy - jaw dropping delicious. Everything is so good here! Our server was Christine - she was an absolute delight. Made sure my coffee was full the whole time. The place itself is everything I expect in a diner. Reminds me of home in upstate NY. Absolutely love how it feels like everyone feels at home here. Would come back again and again.

Second -- CASH ONLY There is a Hawaiian inspiration/theme at the The OBH mixed with mexican flavors -- basically if you like a lot of meat with your breakfast then come here. When looking at other people's plates the portions looked very large -- the prices are average -- not cheap but not over the top. I did see someone with a cinnamon roll that looked pretty delicious. My mom had been here one other time and got the cinnamon roll pancakes, which she loved (and why we are here today) -- Nothing was speaking to me on the menu so I just ordered the classic OBH pancakes. I would give them about a 5/10 on the pancake scale. Also they didn't have real maple syrup even to purchase for extra -- they say their syrup is a maple syrup blend -- it wasn't full on plastic but it wasn't real maple syrup. I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs with cheddar -- it was a little runny and overall just average. The coffee was rank -- I would give it a 2/10. Our server was very friendly as was all of the other staff -- that is why I hate to only give 3 stars because it is a great local spot. When we left (around 9am) there was quite a long wait -- so you know it is very popular

The interior is pretty long with a large number of seating inside the building so we had no trouble getting seated right away by the hostess. We decided on food relatively quickly due to previous experience with the business, however, our waiter never came around to take our orders or even give us water at the table. We saw one girl with dyed hair who unassumingly could have been our waiter since she was in our section but only worked with one particular table and ran to the back after each time, but never addressed our table or came by. We eventually had to flag a different waiter down who was able to help us place the order and service us for the rest of our visit, she also informed us that this other "Waiter" was supposed to help us but she wasn't sure why she never made an attempt to do so after having us wait 20 mins and other tables were being serviced. We ordered Flordian French Toast and Elote Breakfast Burrito (plus a couple sides and drink) which were both really good, and filling. Prices weren't too bad for what we ordered and was able to take our mind off of the rather long wait to get helped. Not sure if we'll come back to this particular location again, but it was nice trying the restaurant out another time.
