We have been ordering here for months. We just picked up our last pizza from this place. The recipe may be the same, but clearly they are using lower quality ingredients. The manager was incredibly rude when we called to let him know there was an issue. Go get real pizza from Petes #2 on Montrose. Tried Joes first time tonight and pleasantly surprised. Called in for delivery and the gentleman that took our order was really nice. It was delivered fast(25 mins). Thin crust sausage mushroom/sausage. Very Good. And the price was amazing 16in w/ delivery under $21! We will order again to try more than just pizze read more

There was a ton of hype about Joe's on a Facebook page I am a member of. So I decide to take the advice from people and try it. The pizza was pretty good. Didn't wow me. The sausage was good but didn't taste fresh. My pizza cost about 15 dollars for a 12 with Sausage, green peppers, onions and bacon. Not bad for all that. I also ordered buffalo wings that serves 2-3 people for 13.95. There are only 8 small wings smothered in too much sauce. What a fucking joke. Guess I won't be trusting Facebook anymore for suggestions. read more

Sometimes when one goes a couple years between visiting a favorite restaurant (because one moves away), one worries the good memories of that restaurant won't live up to expectations. I have been coming here since 80s ,,Ok food but the service is so bad you leave there very frustrated and upset , me and my family would go there in a great mood on Fridays by the time we left we were all pissed off and this would happen every time they would ruin our outing . You wait for your drink forever sometimes till your done eating , and even you bill they will make you wait 1/2 hour or more because the one person that's serving is making salads and taking orders and bringing out food . The service would just kill you , every time my wife would order a salad they would bring it when she's done eating and we would tell them take it off the bill we don't want it . It is like the only place I know that don't give free refills $1.50 every single time you want more a family of 4 or more that can easily reach 15 - 20 dollars on sodas compared to other restaurants giving free refills and yes it is a big deal now a days . So I used to come here often and haven't for years. Today affirmed why I stopped coming here. I have worked in customer service for years and these owners , even after reading previous reviews, have none. You don't argue with a customer you help them and solve the problem at hand. I purchased a 14" thin crust 1 topping pizza. So the menu I was GIVEN upon purchase even said it would be $13.60 . I ordered pineapple and the lady on the phone never expressed the total just when it will be ready so I assumed it was that much. I get there and I was charged 17.55. So I get home and I am taking a look at the menu I was handed. No where would this equal that much. I talked to some girl on the phone who tried explaining pineapple is more, it's two toppings. How on EARTH is that two toppings?!? If anything meat should be more pineapple is cheap. News flash your menu says two toppings for a 14" is15.05 NOT 17.55. So, the manager gets on the phone and says its a speciality topping and it's more money. He also said that the menus are out to date so he's waiting for them on order. You can't charge people new prices that don't even exist yet. He said he would credit my account for next time $2.00. No thanks, we won't be coming back. Basically they charged me for a 14" Hawaiian pizza without meat. Maybe they should tell people that on the phone. I paid less at Dino's and it's 5 minutes away. Their pizza tastes great, not bland tasting, there sauce has more flavor , not dripping with grease. AND they're friendly there. Basically, if you're looking for pizza do whatever you want. It was Friday eve. I had the weekend off but I just wanted a quiet evening at home. A good pizza would help that experience. So I was in the Jeff Park/Portage Park hood not far from home so I yelped what could be a decent place. Dino's was too far. Up came Joes, it was close (On Higgins just west of Austin) and reviews looked good. Now I wasn't necessarily looking for Chicagoland's best pizza, I just wanted a solid one that would hit the spot. You would be surprised at how hard that seems to be accomplished. In this case Joes stepped up to the plate and blasted a home run. My pizza orders tend to be simple usually just thin crust, cheese and sausage, this time I added mushrooms. This was a very solid pizza. The crust had just the right amount of crisp and chew. The cheese was fresh, and the sausage and mushrooms were quite flavorful. A no frills pizza that made a quiet evening at home very enjoyable. The service was outstanding. While I was waiting for it. About 20 mins or so. They provided me a glass if soda while I was waiting. In addition they updated me on when the pizza would come out. They really seemed to genuinely care about my business. For that they will see my face again. You probably wont see them written in reviews of Chicagoland's best pizzas, but if you want a good solid no-frills pizza that will more than satisfy your taste buds and tummy, please give Joes a visit. read more

Ordered Joe's pizza tonight after receiving mailed flyer and reading Yelp reviews. Sausage, spinach, and mushroom. Told it would be 20 minutes for delivery. It was 35. Still very good. Delivery guy pounded on door when I didn't get to front of house from back of house immediately. Bill was $19.50--handed him $25 as he turned and walked off. Pizza was hot, but tasteless. Came across an old menu from Joe's Pizza and realized I haven't gotten any food from them for over 3 years. Just never went on Yelp to review. Because of the reason I am not going to them I thought, what the heck, maybe I can prevent someone from getting the shaft. The last time I ordered from them, I got a chicken dinner. I remember the pieces were so small I thought it was a canary! And of course they were cooked so long it may as well have been a piece of bread soaked in oil that I ate. HORRIBLE. Best thin crust pizza ever. Our family has been going to Joe's Pizza for over 3 decades. All of their food items are to die for! Never had a bad meal there. We had moved from the local area where they are located but still make it a point to eat there as often as possible. Picked up some pizza and mozz-sticks for a recent movie night. We had the green pepper and 'shroom pizza, well done. The pizza was awesome! Crispy thin crust, tasty mild sauce, good amount of toppings, fresh and hot out of the oven. A 14'' fed two hungry kids with a few pieces left over for a midnight snack or breakfast the next day. The sticks were pretty good too; they were very crunchy and the cheese wasn't surface-of-the-sun, 3rd-degree-burns-on-my-mouth hot like it normally is at other places. read more
