This place reminds me of a place I went to in college, small, old school decor, very friendly staff, good beer on tap and pizza. Heard that this place ranked #2 for pizza in the suburbs so looked forward to trying it. Ordered a large pizza with lots of toppings and the pizza was okay. It was cooked through but hoped for more of a charred crust. There's good amount of cheese and toppings but not a big fan of the dried out cracker crust or the tomato sauce. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great but I did like the overall experience. Will I go back? Not sure. It's a place I want to love but for now not feeling that vibe.

BEST THIN CRUST PIZZA!! This is an old school pizza place. It's been around for decades so it's super causal inside. Service was great but I only do carry out. My family use to pick up there was I was a kid and I have rediscovered it. Keep in mind there are a lot of different types of pizza in the Chicago area. This style is tavern. Very thin and crispy! Also this pizza is not greasy- it has lots of flavor!! Definitely a must try!!!

Joe's pizzeria, I love you guys man! Joe's is hands down, Northside Chicagoland suburb legendary they've been around forever! My wife and I love Joe's. This is our favorite Tavern/thin crust in the NorthShore suburb area. we've been coming here for at least six years now and we've never had a bad experience. very consistent from pizza to service amazing as always got the largest size thin crust cheese pizza always comes out piping hot, cooked to perfection every single time cheese perfect amount the sauce amazing acidic flavorful just the way I like there dough is paper thin with amazing flavor and texture, crisp every piece to the end. Their service is always amazing. The guys at the front that worked the window are awesome. For all you sausage fans Joe's makes in house sausage and it taste amazing Chicago style seasoned sausage, phenomenal highly recommend, pairs so good with Giardiniera. The servers are always happy to serve you and amazing. Joe's is pretty small restaurant with a couple tables and chairs. They do have parking lot and a beautiful marquee Joe's pizza sign outside which I think is awesome. Gives it that old school look. 100% Recommend!

If you want consistent good thin crust pizza and some quick service Joe's is a great place to stop by. I'll usually order this on my way home occasionally and they have it ready within 15-20 minutes which is always a great standard. They also have a bowling alley nearby that I've seen people come by to get pizza and take back to bowl. The other thing I consistently get are the mild wings I love these versions because they have a dry seasoning that lets you really feel the crunch. See you next time you wonderful people.

We ordered Pepperoni Thin, 1/2 cheese, 1/2 cheese thin, Gfree Pepperoni, Gfree Penne with meat sauce, Brussels, and Onion Rings. The pizza was crisp and the cheese was nicely cooked. I really love the sauce as it has a nice little sweetness to it. The Brussels were good and roasted perfectly and had a nice drizzle of sauce. The onion rings were large and had crunchy. The server was very attentive and funny. We really appreciated the fan! They also had live music. I def will be back here.

I noticed a portrait on the wall next to the stand and inquired who it was. Her name was Sara Rowe, and it's a loving memorial to a long time Melman partner. Melman combined her first name, Sara, with a classic Italian suffix to create the name "Saranello's". It's an upscale restaurant with upscale food. But at a mid-scale price point, Thanks for that! The food: I had the baked eggplant parm, since I'm from Chicago. You know what I mean if you're local. And it's my new benchmark. Well done! The wife had the braised short rib ravioli. It's now her desert island dish. It's a very very nice space. And our server knew the menu backwards and forwards. Anyone who's had the grated "parmesan" in the green can will appreciate the genuine Parmiggiano Reggiano they serve here. Freshly grated with no cellulose, and that beautiful tang! With homemade tiramisu for dessert, and a glass of wine, the tab was about $75, but you get what you pay for, and you'll get what you're paying for here!

This is a family owned restaurant and from the second we walked in, it felt so warm and homey. My daughter had a bloody nose and the owner first thing asked if we needed an ice pack and was so kind. We weren't even aware she was the owner at the time. Later on in our meal she came by to check in to see how my daughter was doing as well as how the food and our dining experience was. Our waitress, who was one of the owners daughter was extremely attentive and warm. Throughout our meal she would check in to see how things were and if she could take away any of our plates. Service was phenomenal. Now onto the food. Started with the garlic bread and grilled octopus. Garlic bread had a nice crunch exterior and softness in the middle. It was buttery and garlicky and good. The grilled octopus was super tender and had a char to it. I personally prefer more of a char but it was still very good. The tomatoes were slightly blistered and again, for my tastes would have preferred a little more char but I would easily order it again. Pasta dishes came with a choice of lemon chicken chowder or minestrone. Both soups were pretty chunky and had good taste. The margarita pizza dough was nice a chewey with a slight char from the brick oven. It was a little wet for some reason but tasted good. The spaghetti with bolanese had good flavor and the sauce was quite hearty. Overall you could tell from all the dishes that they were made from scratch. Bontà really delivers on food and service. I can't wait to come in for lunch to try their sandwiches. Parking is plenty as they are located in a strip mall.

The hostess appeared wearing a blue-and-white striped sweater hanging off one shoulder like she'd stepped out of an Italian perfume commercial. Around her neck was one of those little cornicello pepper necklaces, dangling just enough to suggest fate had finally decided to throw me a bone. Blue eyes. Not "blue." The kind of blue sailors used to abandon families over. She laughed at one of my jokes. That was all the encouragement my diseased brain required. I immediately conducted a full tactical assessment of the restaurant. The P.O.A. Index... ...was approaching DEFCON 1. Every direction I looked was another devastatingly attractive waitress carrying Aperol Spritzes with effortless confidence. It was like wandering into a government-funded supermodel relocation program. Then... A shadow fell across the table. A man. Our waiter was a man. Christ Almighty. The emotional whiplash nearly snapped my neck. It's like going to the zoo hoping to see lions and discovering the enclosure has been replaced with an accountant named Kevin. There are beautiful women everywhere, and somehow I'm discussing pasta recommendations with a guy who probably knows three different olive oils by taste. Cruel. Absolutely cruel. To his credit, the b@5tard was outstanding. Friendly. Fast. Knew the menu inside and out. Kept the drinks full. Never interrupted. The s.o.b. gave me absolutely nothing to complain about, which only deepened my resentment. The food, meanwhile, was infuriatingly good. The pizzas arrived looking like they'd been blessed by an Italian grandmother carrying unresolved anger from 1947. Thin crust. Fresh mozzarella. Just enough char to remind you that ovens are supposed to flirt with fire, not electricity. The pasta had that unmistakable handmade texture that makes Olive Garden feel like a felony. The cocktails disappeared with alarming speed. By my third Negroni, I was convinced I could hear Dean Martin narrating my life. Walking out, I glanced back toward the hostess one last time. She smiled. For approximately three seconds I considered abandoning my entire life to become a part-time sommelier with absolutely no qualifications. Then reality returned. The male waiter handed me the check. Four stars. The food was phenomenal. The cocktails were dangerous. The hostess should be classified as an Italian national treasure. And our waiter deserves a raise... despite committing the unforgivable crime of existing between me and the waitresses.
